It is not easy to leave the bed early in the morning. I normally go to sleep around 11 p.m. My father is a very hard taskmaster. He wakes me up early in the morning and starts teaching me mathematics. Once I asked him about the advantages of a morning walk. In reply he asked me to dress up in shorts and get ready for a morning walk.
Our locality is very famous for its parks. I was surprised to see so many people having a walk in the park. Cool breeze was blowing. The green leaves of the trees were whispering along with the wind. The birds had left their nests and were flying around in every direction. The sunrise was a glorious scene. It was pleasant to see the first rays of the sun touching the earth, initially, the sun looked like an orange but gradually, it covered itself with beautiful beams.
In one corner of the park, children were playing with a small football. Some young boys were running in a circle. There were others who were practising various exercises. In another corner, a yoga teacher was teaching asans. The .learners were raising their hands to salute the sun. In the end he asked them to laugh. All of them laughed so loudly that I could not control my own laughter.

सुबह हवा में ताजगी होती है । प्रकृति नई अंगड़ाई लेती प्रतीत होती है । संसार रात भर के विश्राम के बाद नई ताजगी और उमंग से युक्त होता है । प्रात: कालीन किरणों में अद्भुत ऊर्जा होती है । बागों में कलियाँ खिलकर फूल का रूप धारण कर लेती हैं! घास पर ओस के ठंडे कण दिखाई देते हैं । प्रकृति के अनुपम रूप की शोभा देखते ही बनती है । हजारों लोग स्वास्थ्य लाभ के लिए निकल पड़ते हैं । किसान अपने खेतों की मेड़ों पर चहलकदमी करते हैं । कुछ लोग तालाब या बाग-बगीचे का चक्कर लगाते हैं । शहरों में भी अनेक पार्क हैं । यहाँ बच्चे, युवा और वृद्ध एक साथ सैर का आनंद उठाते हैं ।
पर आलसी लोगों की बात अलग है । उन्हें सूर्योदय के समय जगने की आदत नहीं है । वे रात में देर से सोते हैं और आठ-नौ बजे तक ही उठ पाते हैं । उन्हें प्रात: काल की सैर के बारे में कुछ भी ज्ञात नहीं । जब उन्हें तरह-तरह की बीमारियाँ घेर लेती हैं, जब उन्हें मानसिक तनाव और परेशानियों का सामना करना पड़ता है तब उनकी नींद टूटती है । लेकिन जब जागो तभी सवेरा…..अभी भी कुछ नहीं बिगड़ा इसलिए सुबह उठो, मुँह-हाथ धोओ और सैर पर निकल पड़ी । जरा सा चले नहीं कि आलस्य मिटा । थोड़ी ही देर में शरीर स्फूर्तिवान हो उठा ।
कुछ रहस्य है सुबह जागने में जो शरीर की अनेक व्याधियाँ नष्ट हो जाती हैं । पेट साफ रहता है तो चित्त में भी प्रसन्नता आती है । सैर से भूख भी अच्छी लगती है । फेफड़ों में ताजी हवा का प्रवेश होता है । शरीर का अच्छा-खासा व्यायाम हो जाता है । दिन भर मन प्रसन्न रहता है, हर काम में आनंद आता है । काम करने में थकावट कम होती है । व्यक्ति की कार्यक्षमता बढ़ती है तो उसकी आमदनी में भी बढ़ोतरी होती है ।
सुबह की सैर को निकले तो प्रकृति के नए-नए रूप के दर्शन हुए । चिड़ियों ने कलरव करते हुए लोगों का स्वागत किया । गर्मियों में ठंडी हवा के झोंकों से तन-मन पुलकित हो उठा । आसमान में उगते सूर्य को नमस्कार करके लोगों ने शक्ति के अजस्त्र श्रोत को धन्यवाद दिया । बाल अरुण को देखकर मन में उत्साह का संचार हुआ । बागों में पहुँचे तो फूलों पर मँडराती तितलियों के दर्शन हुए । कोयल ने मधुर तान छेड़ी तो कर्णप्रिय ध्वनि से मन गद्गद् होने लगा । कतारों में पेड़-पौधों को देखकर किसे हर्ष न हुआ होगा । हरी- भरी मखमली दूब पर पाँव रखकर किसने सुख न पाया होगा । फूलों की खुशबू से किसकी साँसों में ताजगी न आई होगी ।
थोड़ा चले, थोड़ी दौड़ लगा ली । कुछ ने खुली जगह पर हल्की कसरत कर ली । पहलवानों ने मुगदर उठा लिया । बच्चों के हाथों में बड़ी सी गेंद थी । अतिवृद्ध लाठियों के सहारे पग बढ़ा रहे थे । खिलाड़ी पोशाकें पहने अपनी फिटनेस बढ़ाने में व्यस्त थे । कुछ स्थूलकाय लोगों ने अपना मोटापा घटाने की ठान ली थी । गृहणियों ने सोचा, दिन भर घर में ही रहना है कुछ देर सैर कर ली जाए । कुछ तो एक कदम आगे बढ्कर योगाभ्यास में संलग्न हो गए । प्रात: काल का हर कोई अपने – अपने ढंग से लाभ उठाने लगा ।
