Report Text adalah teks yang bertujuan menyampaikan informasi dengan mendeskripsikan sesuatu secara umum, yang meliputi berbagai hal/dan fenomena alam dan sosial yang terjadi di sekitar kita. Report Text berisi serangkaian fakta yang logis dan bersifat objektif, tanpa ada keterlibatan pribadi (pendapat pribadi) penulis.

Struktur report text terdiri dari 2, antara lain :

  • General classification ( klasifikasi umum ) Pengantar tentang objek / fenomena yang akan dibahas
  • Description ( Deskripsi ) Menerangkan objek / fenomena yang di bahas, meliputi bagian-bagian, kualitas dan perilaku.

Ciri-ciri kebahasaan Report Text :

  • Menggunakan simple present tense, kecuali apabila yang dibahas sudah punah, menggunakan past tense.
  • Menggunakann action verb ( kata kerja tindakan ) dan relating verb, mislanya is, am, are, look, seem.
  • Menggunakan general nouns (kata benda yang bersifat umum) misalnya green sea turtles, Northern Lights, orchids, platypus, figure skaters.

National Jamboree is my unforgettable experience. I joined the Tenth National Jamboree in 2016 when i was in the seventh grade. After i passed the scouting test in the Regency Council, I started the trainning for about four months. There were also several other students from other schools who passed the test. The jamboree was held in Bumi Perkemahan Cibubur, in August,2021. My Friends, scoutmasters and i went there a week before the jamboree started. The scoutmasters said that it was necessary to adapt to the environment. There were several other patrols that came from other regencies. They had come several days before us. The participatans came from almost all regencies in indonesia. There, we met and knew people from other regencies or provinces in indonesia. There was an activity to present the culture of each regency. This activity was like a parade. We learned many cultures and felt in love with indonesia even more. The theme of the jamboree was ‘ Gembira, Keren, Asyik’. That was perfectly reflected on the activities because i felt so. There, we also learned important knowledge and life skills, such as friendship, destinations, such as Lubang Buaya Museum, Monumen Nasional ( Monas ) and Taman Mini Indonesia Indah ( TMII ).

Komodo dragon is a member of the monitor family, Varanidae. It is the world’s largest living lizards. It grows to be 10 feet (3 meters) long and weighs up to 126 kg and belong to the most ancient group of lizards still alive.

It is found mainly in the island of Komodo and on other small islands, Rinca, Padar, and Flores. The natives call the dragon, ora, or buaya darat (land crocodile).

The Komodo dragon has a long heavy tail, short, strong legs, and rough skin. It is covered with small dull, colored scales. It can sprint at up 18 km per hours, but only for short distances. When it opens its wide red mouth, it shows row of teeth like the edge of a saw.

Komodo dragons are good swimmers and may swim the long distance from one island to another. Like other lizards, they swim with their undulating tails, and their legs held against their body.

The Komodo dragon is totally carnivorous. It hunts other animals during the day. It hunts deer, wild pigs, water buffaloes, and even horses. Coconut is a common name for the fruit of a tree in palm family. It is classified as Cocos Nucifera. People usually call the tree as coconut palm. Coconut palm trees grow well in tropical countries. They grow especially on san soil.

The trees can grow up to 30 m high. They have a cylindrical trunk. At the top of the trunk there is a crown of leaves. The leaves are long, about 3 to 4,5 m long.

The fruit grows in clusters. In one cluster, there about 5 to 20 coconuts. The fruit is oval and about 30 cm long. It has a thick husk and hard shell. Inside the shell there white oily fresh. Inside the shell there is also sweet fluid.

Coconut is high in sugar. It also contains a lot of fat, protein and vitamin. The young coconut water can be very refreshing drink which contains a lot of minerals.

Coconut palm are very useful plants. People can use every single inch of the tree. They dry the coconut meat into copra. After that, they can get oil from it and use it for daily cooking or make it into soaps or candles. People also use the trunks to build houses. For the roof, they dry the leaves. People can also make rope and doormats from the coconut’s husk.

Coconuts are usually propagated by seeds. But experts have been trying to clone coconuts or propagate them by tissue culture.

The Honeybee

The honeybee is a very important insect. It helps to pollinate flowers so that they can produce fruit and seeds. Honeybees make honey from the nectar of flowers. They store honey in hives. Bees collect nectar from flowers using their long, tube-shaped tongues. They carry the nectar back to the hive in their stomachs where it mixes with enzymes. Then, bees place the nectar into the honeycomb cells. They fan the nectar with their wings to make it dry out and become thicker. Finally, they seal the cell with wax. “Golden Eggs”

Long time ago a remote village, in central China was inhabited mainly with farmers and hunters. One day, a poor farmer lost his entire livestock to flood. He prayed hard to God for help or his family would die of starvation. Few days later, an old man with long grey beard, passed by his house took pity on him. He gave him a goose and said “I don’t have any expensive thing to give you and hope this goose will help you to ease your hardship.”

A week later to almost surprise the farmer found an egg in his yard. This was no ordinary egg. It was a golden egg. He was suddenly overcome with joy. Thereafter, his livelihood had rapidly improved but the farmer had forgotten his earlier hardship.

He became lazy, arrogant and spendthrift. Strangely, the goose only laid one golden egg every six months. THREE FISH         

Three fish lived in a pond. One evening, some fishermen passed by the pond and saw the fish. ‘This pond is full of fish’, they told each other excitedly. ‘we have never fished here before. We must come back tomorrow morning with our nets and catch these fish!’ So saying, the fishermen left.

When the eldest of the three fish heard this, he was troubled. He called the other fish together and said, ‘Did you hear what the fishermen said? We must leave this pond at once. The fishermen will return tomorrow and kill us all!’ The second of the three fish agreed. ‘You are right’, he said. ‘We must leave the pond.’

But the youngest fish laughed. ‘You are worrying without reason’, he said. ‘We have lived in this pond all our lives, and no fisherman has ever come here. Why should these men return? I am not going anywhere – my luck will keep me safe’.

The eldest of the fish left the pond that very evening with his entire family. The second fish saw the fishermen coming in the distance early next morning and left the pond at once with all his family. The third fish refused to leave even then. The fishermen arrived and caught all the fish left in the pond. The third fish’s luck did not help him – he was caught and killed.

The sugar glider is a possum – very similar to the tupai in Indonesia. It basically lives in trees. It eats leaves and fruit. However, the Australian sugar glider has a very special skill. It can jump from tree to tree like a tupai but it can also `sort of fly’ as well. In fact, it glides or terbang layang in Bahasa Indonesia. When it jumps from one tree to another it spreads its four legs out wide; and its extra skin also spreads out and functions like a parachute.

Dinosaurs were a type of lizards. They lived from about 230 million to about 65 million years ago. In 1842, Sir Richard Owen created the word dinosaur. It came from Greek words deinos, meaning “terrible” and sauros, meaning “lizard”. Dinosaurs lived on earth for about 140 million years.

During the dinosaurian era, the days were short. The sun was not as hot as it is today. On earth there was only one big continent and one big ocean. The name of the continent was pangea (all lands) and the name of the ocean was panthallassa (all seas).

There were many kinds of dinosaurs. Some of them were very big and some others were small. Some dinosaurs ate leaves and some others ate meat. Some dinosaurs could fly.

Some jellyfish can glow in darkness by making their own light. the light is made by a chemical reaction inside the jellyfish . scientists believe jellyfish glow for several reasons. for example, they may glow to scare away predator or to attract animals they like to eat.

Most jellyfish live in salt water, apart from a few types that live in fresh water. jellyfish are found in oceans and seas all over the world. they live in warm, tropical seas and in icy waters near north and south poles.
