Embed a presentation in a web page or blog

When you want to share a presentation or a picture slide show with your friends, family, or colleagues, save it to OneDrive, then you can embed it in a web page or blog.

The embed code you need must be gotten from PowerPoint for the web . It isn't available from the PC or Mac versions of PowerPoint.

Get the embed code

Save your presentation to OneDrive.com. (Storing the presentation to a public folder online is what allows you to embed it on a web page.)

Open your presentation in PowerPoint for the web . On the File tab of the Ribbon, click Share , and then click Embed .

In the Embed box, under Dimensions , select the correct dimensions for the blog or web page.

Under Embed Code , right-click the code, click Copy , and then click Close .

You'll use this embed code in the next procedure. You may want to paste it somewhere handy, like Notepad, so that you don't lose it.

Embed the presentation in a web page or blog post

The HTML that you copied from the OneDrive page is an iframe tag, which is supported in many web authoring systems and blog services. The steps provided here work in some of the most popular blogging services, such as WordPress, Blogger, and TypePad.

Even though WordPress ordinarily doesn’t allow iframes in posts, an exception is made for iframes that host Office for the web. To use HTML editing, don’t use the New Post command at the top of the page. Go to your blog’s dashboard and click Posts > Add New .

In TypePad, don’t use the Quick Compose editor. Go to Blogs , click the name of your blog, and then click Compose , where you can switch from Rich Text to HTML editing.

In Blogger, change the compose window to Edit HTML. You can switch back to compose mode after you finish the next step.

In your blog editor or web page editor, write your content, and then switch to HTML editing.

If you use a blogging service that does not support iframes in posts, consult your blogging service provider for assistance.

With the HTML tag that you copied from the OneDrive page as the most recent item in your Clipboard, press ⌘+V.

Finish writing your post. Preview and publish as you normally would.

Updates to the presentation on OneDrive are automatically reflected on the page where the presentation is embedded.

Embed the presentation in a SharePoint wiki

Once you have the embed code as described above, you can also embed the presentation in a SharePoint wiki. In this case, you paste only the src portion of the copied iframe tag into a Page Viewer Web Part.

On the wiki page click Edit .

With the HTML tag that you copied from the OneDrive page as the most recent item in your Clipboard, press Ctrl+V to paste the tag on the wiki page. This is so that you can easily copy a portion of the tag into the Web Part. You’ll delete the tag from the wiki page before you’re done.

Copy the portion of the tag between quotation marks that begins with http . Don’t include the quotation marks.

On the Editing Tools tab click Insert , and then click Web Part.

In the list of categories, click Media and Content .

In the list of Web Parts , click Page Viewer , and then click Add .

To paste the address you copied in step 3, click open the tool pane , and then in the Link box, press ⌘+V.

Click Apply to preview the page.

Make adjustments to the Web Part as desired. For example, in the Page Viewer editor, expand Appearance and specify height of 332 pixels and width of 407 pixels to fit the presentation in the frame with no scroll bars.

When you are finished, click OK in the Page Viewer editor, and delete the iframe tag from the wiki page.

You can place a file created in PowerPoint on a Web page by saving it in HTML via the PowerPoint user interface.

Launch PowerPoint and open the file you will convert to HTML.

Click the “File” tab and select “Save As” from the tab ribbon.

Select a file destination to save the converted PowerPoint file.

Click the "Save as type" arrow to open its drop-down menu.

Change the "Save as type" setting from Presentation to Web Page ( .htm, .html). Click “Publish.”

In this blog post, you will learn how to easily convert your PowerPoint slides into interactive and engaging web-enabled presentations using HTML5.

To install Captivate, follow the installation instructions here .

Prepare your PowerPoint presentation

Open the presentation that you want to convert into an eLearning course. Make the required changes and remove all unwanted slides from the presentation.

Import the presentation in Captivate

Open Adobe Captivate. If you are on a Mac, you’ll find your installed version of Captivate under Applications. If you are on a Windows computer, you’ll find it under the Start Menu.

To import the PPT, click File > New Project > Project from MS PowerPoint .

The dialog box Convert Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation appears. Enter the project name and the size of the project in project properties. Select all slides and click OK  to continue importing and converting your slide deck.

Publish the project

Choose the option Publish on the big button bar. In the Publish dialog, select the SWF/HTML5 tab (top left). Then set the output format to HTML5 (you can turn off SWF.) Finally, click Publish .

Your published HTML5 web page will now be available. But if you’ve never worked with HTML or HTML5 before it might not look the way you expected. Web pages are stored as individual elements (like graphics etc.) and a set of instructions in a text file that is usually called ‘index.html’

To put your new web slide show online you’ll want to copy the folder with your converted PowerPoint deck into your web server. By Default, Captivate publishes files into a folder called ‘My Adobe Captivate Projects’ in your Documents folder.

I just imported a PowerPoint into Captivate 19.  I can preview it in HTML 5 browser.  I cannot get my project to preview in the SCORM cloud.  Also, there is no imsmanifest file when I publish.  Could this be because I added a pause button on each slide because I have the slide move automatically.  I did not check ‘Linked’ when I started.  Should I start over or play with the file?

I think PPT is a good way for users who are experiencing Captivate for the first time. I would, however, encourage users to learn to build courses in Captivate to take full advantage of the power of this amazing tool! Baby steps, though, and this is a great way to build your first static course.

Every page (HTML or XHTML shares certain elements in common.) All are essentially plain text files, with the .html extension. Tags and Attributes

An HTML document is based on the notion of tags. A tag is a piece of text inside angle brackets (<>). Tags typically have a beginning and an end, and usually contain some sort of text inside them. For example, a paragraph is normally denoted like this:

The <p> indicates the beginning of a paragraph. Text is then placed inside the tag, and the end of the paragraph is denoted by an end tag, which is similar to the start tag but with a slash (</p>.) It is common to indent content in a multi-line tag, but it is also legal to place tags on the same line:

Tags are sometimes enhanced by attributes, which are name value pairs that modify the tag. For example, the tag (used to embed an image into a page) usually includes the following attributes:

The src attribute describes where the image file can be found, and the alt attribute describes alternate text that is displayed if the image is unavailable.

Nested tags

Tags can be (and frequently are) nested inside each other. Tags cannot overlap, so <a><b></a></b> is not legal, but <a><b></b></a> is fine.

HTML VS XHTML

HTML has been around for some time. While it has done its job admirably, that job has expanded far more than anybody expected. Early HTML had very limited layout support. Browser manufacturers added many competing standards and web developers came up with clever workarounds, but the result is a lack of standards and frustration for web developers. The latest web standards (XHTML and the emerging HTML 5.0 standard) go back to the original purpose of HTML: to describe the structure of the data only, and leave all formatting to CSS (Please see the DZone CSS Refcard Series). XHTML is nothing more than HTML code conforming to the stricter standards of XML. The same style guidelines are appropriate whether you write in HTML or XHTML (but they tend to be enforced in XHTML):

Most of the requirements of XHTML turn out to be good practice whether you write HTML or XHTML. I recommend using XHTML strict so you can validate your code and know it follows the strictest standards.

XHTML has a number of flavors. The strict type is recommended, as it is the most up-to-date standard which will produce the most predictable results. You can also use a transitional type (which allows deprecated HTML tags) and a frameset type, which allows you to add frames. For most applications, the strict type is preferred.

Standard List Types

HTML supports three primary list types. Ordered lists and unordered lists are the primary list types. By default, ordered lists use numeric identifiers, and unordered lists use bullets.

However, you can use the list-style-type CSS attribute to change the list marker to one of several types.

Definition lists

The special definition list is used for name / value pairs. The definition term (dt) is a word or phrase that is used as the list marker, and the definition data is normally a paragraph:

Use of tables

Tables were used in the past to overcome the page-layout shortcomings of HTML. That use is now deprecated in favor of CSS-based layout. Use tables only as they were intended, to display tabular data.

A table mainly consists of a series of table rows (tr.) Each table row consists of a number of table data (td) elements. The table heading (th) element can be used to indicate a table cell should be marked as a heading.

The rowspan and colspan attributes can be used to make a cell span more than one row or column.

Each row of a table should have the same number of columns, and each column should have the same number of rows. Use of the span attribute may require adjustment to other rows or columns.

LINKS AND IMAGES

Links and images are both used to incorporate external resources into a page. Both are reliant on URIs (Universal Resource Indicators), commonly referred to as URLs or addresses.

<a> (anchor) The anchor tag is used to provide the basic web link:

In this example, http://www.example.com is the site to be visited. The text "link to example.com" will be highlighted as a link.

The link tag is used primarily to pull in external CSS files:

The img tag is used in to attach an image. Valid formats are .jpg, .png, and .gif. An image should always be accompanied by an alt attribute describing the contents of the image.

Image formatting attributes (height, width, and align) are deprecated in favour of CSS.

SPECIALTY MARKUP

HTML / XHTML includes several specialty tags. These are used to describe special purpose text. They have default styling, but of course the styles can be modified with CSS.

<quote>

The quote tag is intended to display a single line quote:

Quote is an inline tag. If you need a block level quote, use <blockquote>.

<pre>

The <pre> tag is used for pre-formatted text. It is sometimes used for code listings or ASCII art because it preserves carriage returns. Pre-formatted text is usually displayed in a fixed-width font.

<code>

The code format is used to manage pre-formatted text, especially code listings. It is very similar to pre.

<blockquote>

This tag is used to mark multi-line quotes. Frequently it is set off with special fonts and indentation through CSS. It is a block-level tag.

<span>

The span tag is a vanilla inline tag. It has no particular formatting of its own. It is intended to be used with a class or ID when you want to apply style to an inline chunk of code.

The em tag is used for standard emphasis. By default, <em> italicizes text, but you can use CSS to make any other type of emphasis you wish.

<strong>

This tag represents strong emphasis. By default, it is bold, but you can modify the formatting with CSS.

Forms are the standard user input mechanism in HTML / XHTML. You will need another language like JavaScript or PHP to read the contents of the form elements and act upon them.

Form Structure

A number of tags are used to describe the structure of the form. Begin by looking over a basic form:

The <form></form> pair describes the form. In XHTML strict, you must indicate the form's action property. This is typically the server-side program that will read the form. If there is no such program, you can set the action to null ("") The method attribute is used to determine whether the data is sent through the get or post mechanism.

Most form elements are inline tags, and must be encased in a block element. The fieldset is designed exactly for this purpose. Its default appearance draws a box around the form. You can have multiple fieldsets inside a single form.

You can add a legend inside a fieldset. This describes the purpose of the fieldset.

A label is a special inline element that describes a particular field. A label can be paired with an input element by putting that element's ID in the label's for attribute.

The input element is a general purpose inline element. It is meant to be used inside a form, and it is the basis for several types of more specific input. The subtype is indicated by the type attribute. Input elements usually include an id attribute (used for CSS and JavaScript identification) and / or a name attribute (used in server-side programming.) The same element can have both a name and an id.

This element allows a single line of text input:

Passwords display just like textboxes, except rather than showing the text as it is typed, an asterisk appears for each letter. Note that the data is not encoded in any meaningful way. Typing text into a password field is still entirely unsecure.

Radio Button

Radio buttons are used in a group. Only one element of a radio group can be selected at a time. Give all members of a radio group the same name value to indicate they are part of a group.

Attaching a label to a radio button means the user can activate the button by clicking on the corresponding label. For best results, use the selected attribute to force one radio button to be the default.

Checkboxes are much like radio buttons, but they are independent. Like radio buttons, they can be associated with a label.

Hidden fields hold data that is not visible to the user (although it is still visible in the code) It is primarily used to preserve state in server-side programs.

Note that the data is still not protected in any meaningful way.

Buttons are used to signal user input. Buttons can be created through the input tag:

This will create a button with the caption "launch the missiles." When the button is clicked, the page will attempt to run a JavaScript function called "launchMissiles()" Standard buttons are usually used with JavaScript code on the client. The same button can also be created with this alternate format:

This second form is preferred because buttons often require different CSS styles than other input elements. This second form also allows an <img> tag to be placed inside the button, making the image act as the button.

The reset button automatically resets all elements in its form to their default values. It doesn't require any other attributes.

Select / option

Drop-down lists can be created through the select / option mechanism. The select tag creates the overall structure, which is populated by option elements.

The select has an id (for client-side code) or name (for serverside code) identifier. It contains a number of options. Each option has a value which will be returned to the program. The text between <option> and </option> is the value displayed to the user. In some cases (as in this example) the value displayed to the user is not the same as the value used by programs.

Multiple Selections

You can also create a multi-line selection with the select and option tags:

DEPRECATED FORMATTING TAGS

Certain tags common in older forms of HTML are no longer recommended as CSS provides much better alternatives.

The font tag was used to set font color, family (typeface) and size. Numerous CSS attributes replace this capability with much more flexible alternatives. See the CSS refcard for details.

I (italics)

HTML code should indicate the level of emphasis rather than the particular stylistic implications. Italicizing should be done through CSS. The <em> tag represents emphasized text. It produces italic output unless the style is changed to something else. The <i> tag is no longer necessary and is not recommended. Add font-style: italic to the style of any element that should be italicized.

Like italics, boldfacing is considered a style consideration. Use the <strong> tag to denote any text that should be strongly emphasized. By default, this will result in boldfacing the enclosed text. You can add bold emphasis to any style with the font-weight: bold attribute in CSS.

DEPRECATED TECHNIQUES

In addition to the deprecated tags, there are also techniques which were once common in HTML that are no longer recommended.

Frames have been used as a layout mechanism and as a technique for keeping one part of the page static while dynamically loading other parts of the page in separate frames. Use of frames has proven to cause major usability problems. Layout is better handled through CSS techniques, and dynamic page generation is frequently performed through server-side manipulation or AJAX.

Table-based design

Before CSS became widespread, HTML did not have adequate page formatting support. Clever designers used tables to provide an adequate form of page layout. CSS provides a much more flexible and powerful form of layout than tables, and keeps the HTML code largely separated from the styling markup.

HTML ENTITIES

Sometimes you need to display a special character in a web page. HTML has a set of special characters for exactly this purpose. Each of these entities begins with the ampersand(&) followed by a code and a semicolon.

HTML 5 / CSS3 PREVIEW

New technologies are on the horizon. Firefox 3.5 now has support for significant new HTML 5 features, and CSS 3 is not far behind. While the following should still be considered experimental, they are likely to become very important tools in the next few years. Firefox 3.5, Safari 4 (and a few other recent browsers) support the following new features:

Audio and video tags

Finally the browsers have direct support for audio and video without plugin technology. These tags work much like the img tag.

The HTML 5 standard currently supports Ogg Theora video, Ogg Vorbis audio, and wav audio. The Ogg formats are opensource alternatives to proprietary formats, and plenty of free tools convert from more standard video formats to Ogg. The autoplay option causes the element to play automatically. The controls element places controls directly into the page.

The code between the beginning and ending tag will execute if the browser cannot process the audio or video tag. You can place alternate code here for embedding alternate versions (Flash, for example)

The canvas tag offers a region of the page that can be drawn upon (usually with Javascript.) This creates the possibility of real interactive graphics without requiring plugins like Flash.

This is actually a CSS improvement, but it's much needed. It allows you to define a font-face in CSS and include a ttf font file from the server. You can then use this font face in your ordinary CSS and use the downloaded font. If this becomes a standard, we will finally have access to reliable downloadable fonts on the web, which will usher in web typography at long last.

How to convert from Powerpoint to HTML / CSS ? (FOSS) [closed]

Someone has mocked up a website using PowerPoint, and I have to convert it to HTML / CSS.

This is not a request to simply embed PowerPoint into the webpages. This will not be a static HTML site. PHP will generate HTML, and there are a bunch of forms for the user to submit information.

Is there a conversion tool, or a series of conversion hoops that I can jump through? I'd much rather have the styles in CSS than inline in the HTML.

The "Save As Webpage" option no longer exists on PowerPoint 2010 and later.

Microsoft has provided a workaround , summarized as, "use the ppSaveAsHTML argument for the *.htm file format."

• In PowerPoint 2010, open the presentation that you want to export to HTML.
• Press Alt+F11, this opens VB for Apps.
• Press Ctrl+G, this opens the Immediate pane.

In the Immediate pane, type the following, and then press the Enter key:

ActivePresentation.SaveAs "<Drive>:\users\<username>\desktop\<filename>.htm", ppSaveAsHTML, msoFalse

To save by using the Single File Web Page ( *.mht ; *.mhtml ) file format, replace htm at the end of the file name with mht , and replace ppSaveAsHTML with ppSaveAsWebArchive .

Since I'm guessing you're not the best with web design hardcode, your options are:

Go into powerpoint, and use the 'Save For Web' button. It won't be perfect, you'll probably have to tweak some stuff, but you could make it look right with much less coding knowledge then the normal site.

OR: Make a flash site and embed the powerpoint into the flash, if you're flash savvy.

OR: Here's a poweproint conversion tool if your powerpoint if you don't want to code at all: http://www.pptools.com/ppt2html/index.html I'm not sure how well it works, you'll probably just end up frustrated and you'll have to code some anyway.

Option #1 is good, and it will require very little actual coding, just fixing the thing powerpoint does wrong.

Option #3, flash ewww.

Option #4 I haven't tried it, but you sure can if you're feeling up to it, probably won't be too fast or customizable.

But overall, the best bet is going to be look at it with your eyes and convert it using your knowledge of code and w3fools.com, err, oops, http://www.w3schools.com/ as a resource.

• 1 +1 .. and no offence taken :-) Not having PP (which I omitted to mention), I didn't know that it had an export to HTML function (someone mentioned XAML in passing). If so, expect either a web paeg with lots of CSS in the header (hopefully easy to convert) or styles on each HTML element (which is what I fear & why I ask for help) ... –  Mawg Commented Jun 8, 2011 at 8:00
• 1 Lots of css in the header is fine. Just copy it into a style.css file and <link> it. Remove lines one by one to find that which you do not need. Styles on each html element would be bad, you'd have to go by each element one by one and make selectors and combine, it would take a few hours, but it could be done. Like I said, you should need to tweak it a bit, pp is far from perfect. –  alt Commented Jun 8, 2011 at 8:16
• +1 hanks, Jackson, it looks like I will be going with option #1. I don't mind fine tuning (but I do remember years ago looking at the "HTML" produced by MS word ... shudder. FWIW, I don't think the PPTools PPT2HTML add-in will give the needed results. I wrote it, so I suppose I can answer as authoritatively as anyone. ;-)

It'll give you an image of the original PPT slide, optionally with an image map that preserves the links and action settings if any.

And it could be used to extract the title, body and any other text in a fairly predictable way, and could even insert any HTML/CSS code you like around each of these bits of text, but unless the slide/slides are fairly simple examples of stock PPT slides, that might not be very helpful.

I'm using PowerPoint 2016. I used this site to convert my PowerPoint to an HTML file. I got the CSS, HTML, JavaScript all in one HTML file.

The best i found (for developers) is PowerPoint to Html5 SDK. It convert powerpoint to html including video and audio with amazing player API. Very easy to customize (player template can be customized). Quality is also good: try it

Junior lifeguards in Ventura learn how to 'stop the bleed' and save a life

The trauma surgeon standing on a Ventura beach wore the message on his chest.

"This shirt can save a life," read Dr. Thomas Duncan's red long-sleeved tee. Speaking to 300 kids in a junior lifeguard program at San Buenaventura State Beach Tuesday, Duncan said the shirt, a sheet or even a sock could be used to apply pressure on a potentially fatal blood wound that could come from a surfboard, a car accident or a gun shot.

Life-threatening means the blood flows suddenly and quickly. Duncan, trauma medical director at the Ventura County Medical Center in Ventura, demonstrated by unrolling a sheet of plastic that looked like a cherry Fruit Roll-up and was nearly the size of his shirt. It simulates nearly 17 ounces of blood, he said.

The message is grisly but important.

“The reason we’re bringing this course to you,” he said, “is so you can save a life.”

The presentation by the VCMC trauma team, emergency medical technicians and others is called Stop the Bleed. It was launched by the Barack Obama White House in 2015, pushed by the school shooting three years earlier that left 26 people dead at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.

In such shooting tragedies, car collisions, household accidents involving panes of glass, even in injuries caused by an errant fly ball at a Dodgers game, stopping the bleed can keep people alive, Duncan said.

The VCMC trauma team has been part of Stop the Bleed since the beginning. They help put on training sessions at schools, in businesses and this summer for the first time, in three beach presentations for some 900 kids learning about rip currents, water safety and CPR in the California State Parks' three-week junior lifeguard program.

Duncan told the junior guards about the person who helped save the life of a surfer hit by a board. The surfer's friend fashioned a tourniquet out of a board’s leash. The quick thinking kept the surfer around long enough to be treated at the hospital.

Before the program started, Duncan told the story of meeting someone in a Taylor Swift shirt who insisted he would not give up the gear to stop someone's bleeding. Later, speaking to the junior guards, the doctor emphasized lives are at stake.

"You can always get another shirt," he said.

The kids sat in the sand. Some wore caps. A young girl wore sunscreen shaped into a heart. In small sessions, they were told the first step before trying to help someone is to make sure the scene is safe and they won’t get hurt. Then they need to apply pressure to the wound.

The kids learned how to use tourniquets on each other. They learned the ABCs of responding:

• Alert officials by calling 911.
• Identify the source of Bleeding.
• Compress the wound by applying pressure.

Afterward, they talked about how gratifying it would feel to save someone’s life. Kate Ippolito, 13, of Ventura, noted the message is being presented often and not just to adults but to school kids. It means the instructors think there's a relatively high chance people will need to know what to do.

“It makes you feel like it’s more likely to happen,” she said.

Gunn, a 36-year-old college professor with a Ph.D. in cultural studies, said in a new video posted on Instagram Thursday that the "hate" she has received has been "devastating."

"I just want to start by thanking all the people who have supported me. I really appreciate the positivity, and I'm glad I was able to bring some joy into your lives. That's what I hoped," Gunn said in the video, her first since competing in Paris. "I didn't realize that that would also open the door to so much hate, which has frankly been pretty devastating."

Gunn did not earn a medal in Paris, where she competed against fellow b-girls in their late teens and early 20s.

After losing her three round-robin battles by a score of 54-0, Gunn's unique dance moves quickly became the focus of memes and jokes on social media.

On social media, some users dubbed one move by Gunn "the kangaroo," while others compared her dance moves to when a child asks you to watch their performance.

"I'd like to personally thank Raygun for making millions of people worldwide think 'huh, maybe I can make the Olympics too,'" one user wrote on X, alongside a photo of Raygun's Olympic performance.

The criticisms online against Gunn also included unsubstantiated claims that she had manipulated the selection process to make it to Paris, where breaking was included for the first time in Olympic history.

In her new video, Gunn defended herself against those claims, calling them "allegations" and "misinformation."

"While I went out there and I had fun, I did take it very seriously," she said. "I worked my butt off preparing for the Olympics, and I gave my all, truly."

She continued, "I'm honored to have been a part of the Australian Olympic team, and to be part of breaking Olympic debut. What the other athletes have achieved has just been phenomenal."

Gunn also directed her followers to statements made by the Australian Breaking Association and the Australian Olympic Committee defending her selection and performance in Paris.

In 2023, Gunn won the QMS Oceania Championships in Sydney to earn Australia's first-ever spot in the b-girl competition at the Olympics, according to her Olympic bio .

"The Oceania Olympic selection event (The QMS 2023 WDSF Oceania Breaking Championships) in October 2023 brought together the top Breakers, both Bgirls and Bboys. A panel of 9 international adjudicators, a head judge and a chairperson who oversaw the competition, using the same judging system at the Paris Games and trained to uphold the highest standards of impartiality. These judges are all highly respected in their respective communities and in the international Breaking scene," the Australian Breaking Organization said in an Aug. 13 statement shared on its website. "Ultimately, Rachael Gunn and Jeff Dunne emerged as the top performers in exactly the same process, securing their spots to represent Australia in Paris. Their selection was based solely on their performance in their battles on that day."

Australia's Chef de Mission, Anna Meares, issued public support for Gunn on Aug. 10, in a news conference.

"I love Rachael, and I think that what has occurred on social media with trolls and keyboard warriors, and taking those comments and giving them airtime, has been really disappointing," Meares told reporters, according to ESPN . "Raygun is an absolutely loved member of this Olympic team. She has represented the Olympic team, the Olympic spirit with great enthusiasm. And I absolutely love her courage. I love her character, and I feel very disappointed for her, that she has come under the attack that she has."

The following day, on Aug. 11, the head judge of the breaking competition in Paris defended Gunn, while the head of the World DanceSport Federation said officials are looking out for her "mental safety" after the online criticism.

"Breaking is all about originality and bringing something new to the table and representing your country or region," head judge Martin Gilian said at a press conference, according to The Associated Press. "This is exactly what Raygun was doing. She got inspired by her surroundings, which in this case, for example, was a kangaroo."

Sergey Nifontov, general secretary of the World DanceSport Federation, added of Gunn's mental health, according to the AP, "We offered (the) support of our safe-guarding officer. We are aware about what has happened, especially on social media, and definitely we should put the safety of the athlete, in this case, mental safety in first place. She has us as a federation supporting her."

Gunn said she is taking "pre-planned downtime" in Europe following the Olympics. She asked for privacy for her family and friends.

"I'd really like to ask the press to please stop harassing my family, my friends, the Australian breaking community and the broader street dance community," Gunn said. "Everyone has been through a lot as a result of this, so I ask you to please respect their privacy."

When not breaking, Gunn is a researcher and lecturer at Macquarie University in Sydney, where she studies the "the cultural politics of breaking," according to her university biography.
