Excellent presentation - very helpful and provides for a new dimension for Keynote work. What is your recommendation on recording the whole presentation or add the recording on a slide by slide basis. You said you could replace some of the recording - how do you do that?

Bill: In the recording interface you can go back to a point and start recording from there, leaving the previous slides the same. Experiment with the recording interface to get the hang of it.

How to export a presentation in Keynote or PowerPoint as a video on Mac

People create presentations in PowerPoint and Keynote for all sorts of reasons. You may have a slideshow to display your company’s products, business profile, class plan, or personal photos.

Once your presentation is complete, you might want to share it or have it displayed on a monitor without interacting with it. This is when turning your slideshow into a video or movie comes in handy.

For those situations, here’s how to export a presentation in Keynote or PowerPoint as a video on Mac.

Export a Keynote as a video

1) Open the presentation you want to export in the Keynote app on your Mac.

2) Click File > Export to > Movie from the top menu bar. Your video will be saved as a .m4v file.

3) In the pop-up window, you can change the slides to include the timing between slides and resolution.

4) Click Next .

4) Give your movie a different name, add a tag, and pick a location for the export.

5) Click Export .

Export a PowerPoint as a video

1) Open PowerPoint on your Mac and go to the presentation you want to export.

2) Click File > Export from the menu bar.

3) In the pop-up window, you can give your movie a different name, add a tag, and pick a location for the export if you like.

4) Choose MOV under File Format . This saves the video as a .mov file.

5) You can then select the quality from Presentation, Internet, or Low, depending on what you want to do with the video. You can also change the width and height and adjust the seconds spent on each slide.

6) When you finish, click Export .

How to export a keynote presentation as a quicktime video.

1. Open your Keynote presentation.

2. Select the  File  drop down menu.

3. Choose  Export To.

4. Then select  QuickTime.

5. Adjust the settings to fit your preferences.

6. Select  Next .

How To Export A Keynote Presentation As A QuickTime Video – With A Voiceover

If the QuickTime video version of your presentation requires a voiceover, follow the steps below to export your slides as a video with voiceover.

2. Select the  Play  drop down menu.

3. Choose  Record Slideshow.

4. Press the red button at the bottom of the screen to start recording.

5. Advance the slides as needed using the arrows on your keyboard.

6. When you’re done recording, click the red button again.

Upload a photo from camera roll into a PDF

Hello, I recently created a document in PDF format using Adobe. I used a button and inserted java script to allow users to upload a photo while using the document on a PC. However for use in the field it is preferable to use a mobile device such as a phone or iPad. My question is, how can I script it to where the form will open the users camera roll (gallery) to select a photo while on a mobile device?

Time Required: Class Period

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:

Use the Keynote App on the iPad to create shapes and magic moves to illustrate the steps of mitosis.

• Understand the different phases of mitosis and the events that occur in each phase.
• Demonstrate their knowledge of mitosis by creating Keynote shapes, and using magic move to animate the shapes.
• Export Keynote as a movie and share it to a Canvas Discussion.

Materials Needed:

• iPads Updated and Charged
• Keynote App 
• Screen recording, Clips, or iMovie
• Canvas course module with pre-made activities and assignments
• Rubrics for assessment

Preparing (5 minutes):

Draw new shapes by combining or grouping existing shapes.

Animate shapes using Magic Move, or use motion paths, or other types of actions.

Combine actions to create more complex animations.

Add text boxes to include animated titles, vocabulary words, quotes, or messages.

Export your Keynote animation as a looping movie and save it to your camera roll in the Photos App.

• Mitosis/Meiosis will be taught prior to building Motion Graphic.
• Share the learning objectives with the students and explain how this lesson will help them meet these objectives.
• Direct students to the Canvas course module, where they will find instructions, activities, and assignments for this lesson.

Activating (10 minutes):

• Provide a demonstration on how to use the Keynote App to create shapes (combine, add, subtract, and magic moves.
• Have students work in their groups to create a rough draft of their Keynote presentation.
• Encourage students to work collaboratively in table groups to discuss their ideas and motion graphic design.

Navigating (10 minutes):

• Each student will share their motion graphic in the Graded Discussion.

• Allow time for groups to revise their Keynote presentations based on feedback and resubmit in Canvas.

• Demonstrate their knowledge of mitosis by creating a Keynote presentation.

• Have students finalize their Keynote Motion Graphic.
• Export Motion Graphics as a Movie.
• Upload exported movie from the camera roll into Canvas Graded Discussion.
• Articulate Learning by participating in peer feedback through an IDEA Share in Canvas.

A rubric will be attached to the Graded Discussion to assess each student's Keynote Motion Graphic in the Canvas Speed Grader.

Save and name a Keynote presentation on iPad

Keynote automatically saves your presentation as you work and gives it a default name. At any time, you can rename the presentation or create a copy of it with a different name.

Rename a presentation

Open the presentation you want to rename.

Enter a new name, then tap Done.

Save a copy of a presentation

Touch and hold the presentation thumbnail, lift your finger, then tap Duplicate.

The duplicate appears with a number appended to its name.
