GMERS Medical College, Gandhinagar is an academic institution of repute under The Gujarat Medical Education and Research Society formed by The Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Gujarat and located in the city of Gandhinagar, Capital of Gujarat State in Western India. The GMERS Medical College, Gandhinagar stands testimony to the high professional standards aimed for and achieved by The Gujarat Medical Education and Research Society.
The foundation stone of the Medical College was laid down in the year of 2010, and the college started functioning from August 2012 with the batch of 150 students. Attached to the college is the 300 bedded (which will be expanded with the subsequent MCI requirements) academic teaching hospital, Civil Hospital Gandhinagar. The college and hospital are located in 42 acres campus located in the central Gandhinagar, 2 km from Gandhinagar Railway Station, 20 kms from Sardar Patel Internal Airport, Ahmedabad and just a walkable distance from the State Transport bus Main terminus. It is affiliated to the prestigious and largest university of Gujarat, Gujarat University.
The Campus spread over lush green area of 42 acres which houses Main College Building, teaching hospital, Auditorium, Doctor Staff quarters, Nursing staff quarters, Resident quarters, Boys' hostel, Girls' hostel, Play Ground, and other supportive facilities.
Since its inception the college is progressing in providing quality Undergraduate (M.B.B.S) medical education recognized by the Medical Council of India, to students of Gujarat. It also provides comprehensive facilities for research and patient care. The Pre and Para clinical departments of this college support all the clinical departments in providing treatment for practically all types of medical conditions.
The high standards maintained by the College have attracted students from all over the world.
The medical campus is free from ragging activities and fully observes Prevention of Ragging Regulation, 2009. We recognize Ragging as an offence which is completely prohibited and is discouraged.

Admission Procedure
Each year 200 seats are available for admission to the graduate medical course, leading to the award of the degree of M.B.B.S. of Gujarat University.
Prospective students for an undergraduate course leading towards a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree must have completed a HSC (10+2, or high school) with the Science stream, including the subjects Biology, Chemistry and Physics with at least 50% marks.

About GMERS MCH, VALSAD
GMERS Medical College and Hospital Valsad is an institute managed by Gujarat Medical Education and Research Society and is affiliated to Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat.
The institute is spread over 36 Acre lush green campus situated in the beautiful city of Valsad, South Gujarat. The nearest airport is Surat Airport which is 90 kms and the nearest railway station is Valsad Railway station which is 2 kms from the college. The campus houses college building, hospital building and residential quarters for the doctors, nursing staff and student's hostel.
GMERS Medical College Hospital Valsad , the associated teaching hospital, a multi specialty hospital is operational since 2nd, October 1987. The same is being upgraded to a 700 bedded hospital.

You have to give bond in which you have to compulsory provide service in rural area for 2or3 years or otherwise you have to pay 20 lakhs. Interns get stipened.
