How to create and use a Facebook Review Link

If you’re a business owner, you know all about the importance of online reviews. They provide social proof to help attract new customers and boost your bottom line. While there are many review sites out there, one of the most popularly used platforms is Facebook.

As a business owner, you want to make it easy for customers to leave reviews. The best way to do this is by sharing a Facebook review link. This post discusses how you can utilize the functionality available for reviews on Facebook for business and create a review link.

Free Guide: 10 Tips To Get More Customers From Facebook

What is a facebook review link.

A Facebook review link is a unique URL you create to make it easy for customers to leave reviews on your Facebook page. When customers click the link, they’ll be taken directly to the review form on your Facebook page.

Using a review link makes it easy for customers to leave reviews, and it also helps you track how many reviews you’re getting. However, creating a Facebook review link is a slightly tricky task. Unlike Google My Business, you cannot simply copy a direct link.

Before we talk about creating a review link, make sure that there is a Reviews Tab on your business account. If you don’t have it, go to the About tab on the top left-hand side of your page and click on Edit Page Info. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Add a Tab. Then, select Reviews from the list of available tabs.

Now that you have the Reviews Tab, it’s time to create your Facebook review link.

How to create a Facebook review link

The biggest issue with sharing the default Facebook review link is that users need to be logged in to access it. If users click on the link without logging in first, they will be redirected to another page. This can be incredibly confusing and frustrating.

To bypass this issue, you need to modify the review link. Follow these simple steps to see how.

Step 1: Start with the URL for the Facebook login page. This will ensure that the customers are prompted to log in first before jumping to the review page.

You will start with the following URL: https://www.facebook.com/login/

Step 2: We need to ensure that once the customers log in, they are redirected to your review page instead of their Facebook feed. To do this, we need to add the “next” command in the login page URL.

The URL should look like this: https://www.facebook.com/login/?next=

Step 3: We need to add the link for the review page after the “next” command. This will instruct Facebook that the customer should be taken to your review page.

Keep in mind that copying the URL of your Facebook business page after the abovementioned URL will not work. Instead, you will need to convert it into HTML code. Here’s what the final URL should look like for ABC company:

https://www.facebook.com/login/?next=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2F ABC %2Freviews%2F

To create this link for your page, you can simply replace the characters in  bold (i.e., ABC) with the business name listed on your Facebook account. To get this, you will have to go to your Facebook page and copy the URL after https://www.facebook.com/ from the address bar.

For example, the URL for Broadly’s Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/getbroadly .

Therefore, the review link for Broadly’s Facebook page will look like this:

https://www.facebook.com/login/?next=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2F getbroadly %2Freviews%2F

How to use a Facebook review link

Using a review link is very easy. All you need to do is share it with your customers. You can create a template to share it through email, SMS, WhatsApp, social media, or other marketing channels. Once the customers click on the link, they will be taken directly to your Facebook page’s review section.

How to embed Facebook review links

Once you have the review link, you can embed it on your website homepage or blog. This allows your customers to leave reviews without having to go to Facebook.

Here are the steps that you need to follow:

Step 1: Copy the HTML code of the review link and paste it into a text editor such as Microsoft Word or Notepad.

Step 2: Select the text where you want to embed the link, click on Ctrl/Command + K and copy the HTML code.

Once the link is embedded, customers will be able to access it directly by clicking on the text.

Why do i need Facebook reviews?

Here are some reasons why Facebook reviews are essential for your business:

  • Attract more customers: Customers are more likely to trust a business with positive reviews and testimonials. A recent study shows that 92% of customers are more likely to purchase from companies with online reviews than those who don’t.
  • Boost your SEO: Google considers reviews when ranking local businesses in search results. So the more positive reviews you have, the higher you’re likely to rank.
  • Build social proof: Reviews help build social proof, which is the idea that other people’s opinions can influence our own. When potential customers see that others have had a positive experience and left 5-star reviews for your business, they’re more likely to give you a try.
  • Generate leads: Facebook reviews can also act as a lead generation tool. When customers leave positive reviews, their friends and followers will see it and may be encouraged to check out your business.
  • Improve customer service: Reviews can help you identify opportunities to improve your customer service. If you see a trend of negative reviews, it’s a sign that you need to make some changes.

How to get more Facebook reviews

Let’s look at some of the best ways to get Facebook reviews :

  • Email marketing campaign: You can use email to reach out to customers and ask them to leave a review. Be sure to include a link to your review page.
  • Social media: You can also promote your review link on social media. Post it on your Facebook page, share it in tweets and include it in your Instagram bio.
  • Try in-store promotion: If you have a physical location, you can also promote your review link there. Add it to receipts, business cards, and any other marketing materials.
  • Offer incentives: Encourage customers to leave reviews by offering incentives like discounts or coupons. Just be sure that you’re not violating Facebook’s rules by engaging in review gating or offering bribes for reviews.
  • Engage with reviews: One of the best ways to get more reviews is to simply engage with the ones you already have. Respond to both positive and negative reviews, thank customers for their feedback and address any concerns they may have.
  • Use Facebook ads: As reviews directly come from customers, a great way to increase the number of reviews is by growing your customer base. For this, you can use Facebook ads to promote your business. Through Facebook recommendations , you can target people who live in your area and who have recently interacted with your business on Facebook.
  • Try review requests: It is easy to get lost in tricky Facebook marketing activities and forget that you can simply ask customers for reviews. As per available data , about 68% of the customers are willing to leave reviews if asked.

3 Steps To Creating A Facebook Review Link

To get reviews on Facebook , you need to make sure your customers know where to write a review by sending them a review link.

It’s easy enough to get your Facebook review link. Just open your Facebook Business page in a desktop browser, click on the “Reviews” tab, and copy the URL.

The problem with this, however, is that this review link won’t prompt customers to log in. This means an extra action some customers will have to complete, which can, believe it or not, discourage them.

The key is to make the review process as quick and easy as possible for your customers. This, in turn, will increase the likelihood of them posting a review.

You can do this by creating a Facebook review link with a login prompt . It’s not as hard as it sounds, as we break it down in just three steps.

Why It’s Important To Get Reviews For Your Business

Facebook reviews (Facebook Recommendations) have more benefits than most business owners realize.

And knowing these benefits is important as it will help you understand how Facebook reviews work and, as a result, how you can use them to your advantage.

Facebook reviews are social proof . And with more first-hand endorsements of your products and services, more customers will trust your business.

As it turns out, 88% of customers trust online reviews as much as personal recommendations.

So it’s about building a reputation (through positive reviews and a high star rating) that customers can trust. This will increase your search visibility as well as increase the chance Facebook recommends your business in users’ Feeds.

What’s also worth knowing is that Facebook reviews can appear in search engine results. And if your reviews are positive, this will draw more traffic to your Facebook page.

How To Create A Facebook Review Link: 3 Steps

To get more reviews on Facebook, it’s vital to make writing reviews as easy as possible for customers. In other words: reducing the steps it takes for customers to write a review.

This is why creating your own Facebook review link (with a login prompt) is better than simply using the URL of your Facebook Business review page, as the latter will require some customers to log in first.

There are three steps to creating a Facebook review link:

  • Create a Facebook login URL
  • Modify the URL to redirect customers after login
  • Add your business name to the URL

It sounds technical, but it’s not. You’ll see as we explain each step below.

Step 1: Create A Facebook Login URL

Customers can’t post a Facebook review for your business without logging in to Facebook first.

Most Facebook users will know how to log in if needed, but, again, we’re trying to make it as easy as possible by assisting customers through the process.

All this step requires is adding “/login” to the end of the Facebook homepage URL, so that it looks like this: https://www.facebook.com/login/.

Step 2: Modify The URL To Redirect Customers After Login

After the customer logs in, you want to make sure that the customer is taken to your Facebook Business page – not to the Facebook News Feed.

This ensures the customer won’t have to search for your business or enter your Facebook URL a second time.

To do this, add “?next=” to the end of the Facebook login URL made in step 1, so that it looks like this: https://www.facebook.com/login/?next=.

Step 3: Add Your Business Name To The URL

The final step is to add “https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fyourbusiness%2Freviews%2F” to the URL made in step 2.

However, you’ll need to replace “yourbusiness” with your business name as it reads in the URL of your Facebook page.

Once you have made the change and added it to the URL made in step 2, the final URL—your Facebook review link—should look like this (except with your business name): https://www.facebook.com/login/?next=https://www.facebook.com/yourbusiness/reviews/.

How To Request A Review On Facebook

3 Steps to Creating a Facebook Review Link (1)

Creating your Facebook review link is only half the work, unfortunately. You’ll need to send the review link to customers, needless to say, but you’ll also need to use best practices for your review request to be effective.

This involves two things:

  • Sending your Facebook review requests using the appropriate channels
  • Including a message that encourages the customer to click the link to write a review

The key to creating an effective review request message is to be direct yet friendly while expressing why their feedback is valued.

You can send your review requests using email, SMS, and Facebook messages, but, in general, email is more recommended. Customer emails are easier to collect than phone numbers, and emails are less personal than Facebook messages.

How To Enable Facebook Reviews

It’s no good to send Facebook review request links to your customers if your reviews aren’t turned on. While Facebook reviews are enabled by default, it’s worth checking to make sure!

Thankfully, enabling Facebook reviews takes just five simple steps:

  • Log in to your Facebook Business page
  • Click on “Settings” (located at the top right-hand corner)
  • Click on “Templates and Tabs” (located in the left-hand sidebar)
  • Scroll down to “Show Reviews” (in the “Reviews” section) and click the toggle “On”
  • Click “Save” to confirm the change

Remember: Facebook reviews are enabled by default. So if you find that your Facebook reviews are enabled (the toggle will be green/“On”), make sure not to change the setting.

How To Increase Engagement On Facebook

Your customer reviews are the most important factor determining your business’s reputation on Facebook.

How you interact with customers on Facebook is also important, however, with the potential to increase page traffic and encourage sales.

There are countless ways to engage and interact with your Facebook audience. But to help you out, we’ve listed three key strategies below.

Share User-Generated Content

User-generated content that promotes your business is essentially free marketing. And like customer reviews, it’s more social proof that you can leverage to build your reputation and increase audience engagement on Facebook.

This includes any kind of Facebook content a customer has posted that endorses your products or services. You’ll get notified when it happens, as a Facebook user will tag your business, check-in to your location, or include a hashtag of your business name.

It’s a great way to showcase more positive feedback on your Facebook Business page that followers and new page visitors will see.

Reply To Facebook Reviews

Did you know that 56% of consumers say that the way businesses respond to reviews matters ? This makes it important to respond to Facebook reviews as it can influence customers to trust and use your business.

Most businesses do not respond to reviews. This provides a chance for your business to stand out, however, so it’s worth responding to as many of your Facebook reviews as you can – even the positive reviews.

There are best practices for responding to reviews, and these include responding punctually, professionally, and transparently.

Your responses should always be appreciative, as this will demonstrate that your business cares for its customers and values their feedback – good or bad.

Share Google Reviews On Facebook

Sharing Google reviews on Facebook is more social proof you can use to back up what your positive Facebook reviews are saying.

The good thing about this is that it’s easy to do and provides more engaging content for your Facebook page that users can interact with.

Using Google’s free Marketing Kit , sharing your positive Google reviews on Facebook is as simple as it gets. You can even customize the review as it will appear in your post (such as themes and fonts), which will make the content more visually appealing.

All you need to share Google reviews using Google’s Marketing Kit is a verified Google Business Profile. Google Business Marketing Kit also gives you the ability to create other marketing materials, so it’s a free tool that’s well worth using.

How To Get More Reviews (On All Review Sites)

It isn’t difficult to create a Facebook review link, but there is an easier and more effective way to get reviews for your business – not just on Facebook, but on Google, Yelp , and more.

Having a review link is only half the work, as mentioned. You need to write a persuasive review request to get your customers to click the review link, which you’ll also have to send to all new customers your business deals with.

The easier and more effective method is to automate the process . And it’s the reason why thousands of businesses use ReputationStacker – a tool that will automatically send review requests to your customers using a proven approach to get more reviews.

Ultimately, it’s not necessary to create review links or even put time and effort into a long-term review marketing strategy – not when ReputationStacker will handle all of it for you.

So you want to get more Facebook recommendations , huh? Whether you’re using a review generation tool like Starfish Reviews or sending a message on Facebook messenger, posting on Facebook, or sending out an email to all your clients or subscribers, it’s simple, right? You just send them to the reviews tab like this: https://www.facebook.com/StarfishWP/reviews/ , right?

Facebook’s Review Linking Problem

Not so fast! Unfortunately, Facebook hasn’t made it super simple as Google My Business has . If you send them a link like the example above, users who are logged out of Facebook won’t arrive at the right place! Check out what they’re going to see:

facebook recommendations reviews leave review login

It’s confusing, right? Not only that, using either of those options will not take them back to your reviews page after they log in. Another Facebook failure…. ?‍ Here’s where they will be taken:

  • If they use the normal, top-right login (#1), they’ll just end up on their normal feed, with nothing to do with your page at all!
  • If they use the “Log In” button at the bottom (#2), they’ll be taken to your page, but  not the Reviews section, where you want them to be!

Outsmarting Facebook’s Issues

It turns out that Facebook does have a way to redirect people to wherever you want after login though. That means we can construct a URL that will redirect people to the reviews section of your Facebook page. This link works great for logged-in users and will take logged-out users to the right place as well, no matter which of the above login options they use.

It’s a little complicated, so we created two methods for you. For both methods, you’re going to need to know your page’s “slug,” aka the part of the URL that designates your page. To get your page’s “slug”, go to your page, look in the address bar of your browser and get the part that’s between two forward slashes: / following “facebook.com”.

Constructing the Facebook Recommendations Link

Method 1 – the easy way.

The easy way is to use our Facebook Reviews link generator below. Just input your Facebook page’s “slug” and your email address, and we’ll email you the very best link for your Page’s reviews. NOTE: it’s not the whole Facebook page’s URL. Just the “slug” is the part between the first two slashes (“/”) as shown in the demo animation below.

Facebook Reviews Link Generator

" * " indicates required fields

Copy your Facebook page's slug, like this:

For Example: The Facebook URL for Starfish Reviews is:

https://www.facebook.com/ StarfishWP /reviews/

The Slug would be StarfishWP ; this is what you enter into the form below.

Paste the slug into the field below, then add your email in the other.

Answer this question, then click the "Generate URL!" button.

Brilliant. Thank you.

This is not working anymore

Tevya

Hi Eric! We’ve had a few people report this. But it works every time we try it. You have to ensure you just enter the “slug” of your Facebook page’s URL. So based on the Facebook link in the footer of your website, you’d just put in “brockway.production”. If you do that, it’ll work. I already did it and will have it send you the resulting email. If you don’t see it, try checking your spam/junk. Thanks!

Richard Sui

Works like a charm, however, is there a way that I can get it to open up the Facebook App instead of the mobile browser. Thanks

Hi Richard! The link should open in whatever is the default for Facebook links, on the device where the link is clicked/tapped. So for example, on my Android phone I have the Facebook Lite app. Android previously asked me if I wanted to open Facebook links in Chrome browser or in the Facebook Lite app. I told it the Facebook Lite app, so that’s now the default on my phone. If I tapped your link on my phone that’s where it would open. So this same link should work for any device, but it’s up to the user and the OS to decide if it gets opened in the app or browser. Does that make sense?

Sean Craig

As of Nov 2020 on Android it will open in app. On iOS browser will open and user needs to log into FB in the browser.

Vin M

Hi Tevya! Awesome article. Works like a charm! You really saved me a headache. You will get SuperMan Mega Bonus Points if you happen to know of a way to modify the URL link format you recommended so it also forces “Most Recent” reviews to display first by default rather than the current and only apparent default “Most Helpful.” I’ve looked everywhere but can’t seem to find anything on it in terms of a special parameter or way to manage it in Facebook page settings. For record, its not that the review that shows up in “most helpful” is negative, but rather this issue is its in Spanish and from a vendor in Spain not a customer (which are primarily based in North America). More importantly, with “Most Helpful” as the default it only shows a review or two I think instead of the full list. Whereas, most recent shows them all and chronologically. Thanks again for the article and thanks in advance for any and all suggestions.

Hey Vin! Thanks for the compliments. So glad it’s helpful for your review marketing.

I looked into selecting the Most Recent tab as you’re hoping for. I’m not sure it’s possible. It appears that Facebook controls those through Javascript, as they don’t actually link anywhere in the HTML. So unfortunately, I’m not sure there’s much we can do, unless there’s some way to control the aria-selected state in the URL. But I’m not aware of anything like that.

Turisno_rop

Make the process as easy as possible. Whether you’re emailing customers directly or asking for their reviews with a call-to-action on your website, the most important thing is to make the process super simple for your customer. Provide the link to your Facebook page, and give clear directions on how to leave a review.

Karmen K

Thank you! Just what I needed!

JoAnne

Thank you for this link build. What I’m finding with this link is that the user is taken to the reviews section of my page but there is no button for them to actually review my business. The only way to get them there is to take them to the actual Yes / No boxes option that seems to only appear in the Feed of my business’ home page. And the only way to get them there is to just link them to the business homepage and give them directions to scroll and click yes. This is not as effective as a direct link to that yes button. When I try that – it doesn’t work. What am I missing?

Hi JoAnne, this is a great question! The problem is that you can’t see the Recommendation box when you view your own page’s Reviews tab. You can’t recommend your own business/product/etc so Facebook doesn’t give you the option if you’re an admin on the page. But others will see a box that says “Do you recommend [page name here]?” Followed by a “Yes” and “No” button. If they click either of those, they’ll be prompted for more information to leave their recommendation and review. But this isn’t as visible (have to scroll usually) on the main page as it is on the Reviews tab, where our generator’s link will take people.

How to get Facebook Review Links for Improved Feedback in 2023

facebook reviews and likes

Table of Contents

In today’s digital age, having a strong online presence is crucial for businesses of all sizes. One of the key elements of a strong online presence is having a positive reputation. One way to establish and showcase a positive reputation is by having a link to your Facebook reviews. These reviews provide potential customers with valuable insights into the experiences of past clients and can be a powerful tool for building trust and credibility for your business. In this article, we will discuss why it’s essential to have a Facebook review link and how it can benefit your business. Having reviews on your Facebook business page is a must to build credibility and broaden the reach of your brand. Plus, these ratings can boost search engine rankings too – Google values feedback from its users!

This post is going to go into detail about how you can get Facebook reviews link for your business pages easily.

Let us dig in.

How to get Facebook review links

We will follow a 9-step process that can help you get invaluable feedback from your customers on Facebook.

Step 1 – How to Create Review Links for Sharing

Establishing a straightforward connection with your current customers, website visitors and email subscribers is effortless. There are numerous ways to accomplish this; however, the most convenient route would be providing them easy access to use.

If you possess tech skills, yet don’t use WordPress; then creating a redirection in the .htaccess file on your server can be of great help. This line of code will direct people who visit yourdomain.com/facebook to the review tab on your Facebook business page – further cementing customer reviews and trustworthiness!

If you do know how to make use of WordPress, here’s how you can create review links:

Yoast Tools

  • To set up a redirect with Yoast’s convenient tools, simply hover over the SEO tab in your WordPress admin panel and click Tools. Navigate to this handy feature for easy implementation of redirection for improved website performance.
  • Move to the next page and select File Editor.
  • Now you will need to edit a file (same as before). Editing the .htaccess file is a breeze with Yoast, as it simplifies the whole process and allows you to easily access your server’s file.
  • To increase your visibility and drive more traffic to your website, use a redirect like this:

Redirect 301 /Facebook/

  • Drive more reviews and increase credibility for your business by linking to your review page URL on all of your online platforms.
  • Hit ‘Save’ and your shortened, memorable URL will be ready for you to share with others.

Pretty Links

  • Make your website more efficient and user-friendly by installing Thirsty Affiliates. With this tool, you can create short links that track click stats and make it effortless to swap multiple URLs on your site with minimal fuss.
  • Please insert the URL of your Facebook review page here. It should look similar to this example: https://www.facebook.com/pg/yourcompanyhere/reviews/
  • Now make a brief URL like facebook-reviews or just simply use ‘facebook’ to easily generate the link.
  • The URL should appear like this: https://yourcompanyhere.com/facebook

Share the link!

Step 2 – Include Review Links with Email

Make sure everyone you message has the opportunity to review your business by including a link in your email footer. Here’s an example:

Martha Wayne

YourCompanyHere.com

Like what we got? Review us on Facebook https://yourcompanyhere.com/reviews

Using Review Grower can promote your review links through email.

Step 3 – Promote The Review Link on multiple channels

Be sure to have the review link readily available for customers when you chat with them online. At the end of a conversation on your website, Facebook, WhatsApp, Slack or any other communication channel don’t forget to ask your clients for their opinion and include the relevant link in your message.

Step 4 – Get Likes, Follows & (Hopefully) More Reviews

Increase your page’s likes and followers for improved visibility. Brand trust is created through multiple touchpoints, meaning the more someone sees your company name, the higher their confidence in you will be. When people follow or like a business’ social media accounts, they are much more likely to keep up with what it posts – this establishes an essential connection between them and your brand that encourages future loyalty.

If you are running ads or boosting posts on your business page, take a look at the list of people that liked the post. Why not issue an invitation to all those who aren’t already fans? Bear in mind: If they have engaged with your content previously, it is likely that they’ll like your page too!

Establishing familiarity and trust with consumers can make acquiring reviews that much simpler.

Step 5 – You can Embed Review Widgets On the Website

Posting affirmative reviews of your business on your site not only provides invaluable social proof but can also significantly boost other aspects related to the success of your venture.

Embed a review widget into your website to make it easier for people, especially those who are intrigued by the idea of clicking on something related to Facebook, to give you reviews. By making this process simpler and more accessible, customers will be more likely to provide feedback.

It is possible that adding reviews and comments to your site could improve its rankings on search engines. While there is some debate over how much-embedded content on a website can be read or crawled by search engines, user-generated content such as reviews and blog post comments have been known to positively affect the ranking of that page.

Step 6 – The Right Template for the right occasion

Determine the best template for your business type with this guide:

  • To make adjustments to your business page, navigate to the Settings section and select the ‘Edit Page’ option located on the left of your screen.
  • To edit the current Template, simply click on the “Edit” button.
  • Local companies should select the Business Template to ensure their business operations are running smoothly. Selecting the template that is most appropriate for your company will streamline both internal and external functions.

Step 7 – Does Your Facebook Page Have A Review Tab?

Unfortunately, many people overlook this simple step; if you have set up your business page as a generic-type page, then the review tab will likely be hidden from view.

To make the reviews tab appear on your Page, start by clicking “About” on the left side. Then locate and click “Edit Page Info” which is right below either a Message Us or Contact Us call to action button.

If you’re reluctant to include your full address information (which is understandable for businesses that only operate online), then adding the city will suffice.

The Reviews tab should appear, although this isn’t a guarantee. Facebook is notoriously opaque and no reliable solution exists for this issue. To make matters worse, the support forums are staffed by inexperienced personnel who only add to the confusion.

Experiment with the templates and address settings until you can get a view of the reviews tab. Additionally, make sure to include as much information in this page as possible – it will help optimize results!

Step 8 – Nudge Users into Giving Reviews

Instead of providing incentives to customers for checking in with Facebook when they visit your business, create visibility around the “check-in” feature. Easily hang signs near reception or waiting areas so that guests can easily spot it and take advantage of this offer!

Foursquare may have been the first to introduce a check-in option, but Facebook has something even more powerful in its hand.

After someone visits a location, Facebook will often send out an invitation to review the business. Though this is not always effective, it offers owners of businesses a way to prompt customers for reviews without disregarding Facebook’s regulations. Nevertheless, one must be cognizant that there are laws in place (including FCC and Google guidelines) concerning incentives for positive reviews – Facebook’s rules on this matter remain opaque as with other policies.

Step 9 – Use Facebook Messenger to Ask for Reviews

Inviting customers to review your services and products using a Facebook Messenger chatbot is the most intuitive way of collecting reviews. Customers won’t be caught off-guard, as they are already occupied on that platform. As soon as you remove any potential friction involved in submitting a review, you will undoubtedly see improved results!

What to do if I get a negative review on Facebook?

Rather than attempting to erase unfavorable reviews that don’t violate any laws or policies, use them as an opportunity. Professionalism is paramount when facing and responding to these critiques; they can even improve your profile by demonstrating engagement, providing content, and showcasing your ability to respond promptly and with poise!

How to Get Your Facebook Reviews Page Link | Cloodot

How to Get Your Facebook Reviews Page Link

Published on November 7, 2023

For business owners, the significance of online reviews is well-known. These reviews serve as a form of social proof, helping in the attraction of new customers and contributing to increased revenue. Among the multitude of review platforms, Facebook stands out as one of the most widely utilised.

As a business owner, it's essential to facilitate the process for customers to leave reviews. The most effective way to achieve this is by providing a direct link for Facebook reviews. In this post, we'll explore how you can leverage Facebook's review functionality for your business and generate a review link.

What is a Facebook review link?

A Facebook review link is a custom URL that simplifies the process for customers to leave reviews on your Facebook page. This link directs customers straight to the review form on your page, enhancing ease of use and helping you keep track of your reviews.

Creating a Facebook review link isn't as straightforward as generating a Google My Business link . First, ensure you have a Reviews Tab on your business account. If not, access it via the About tab, click on Edit Page Info, scroll down, and add the Reviews tab.

Once you have the Reviews Tab, you're ready to create your Facebook review link.

How to create a Facebook review link

Step 1: create a facebook login url.

Customers must log in to Facebook to post a review for your business. To simplify this process, create a Facebook login URL by adding "/login" to the end of the Facebook homepage URL. The URL should look like this: https://www.facebook.com/login/ .

Step 2: Modify the URL to redirect customers after logging in

After login, ensure customers are directed to your Facebook Business page, not the Facebook News Feed. This eliminates the need for customers to search for your business or re-enter your Facebook URL. To achieve this, add "?next=" to the end of the Facebook login URL created in step 1. The URL should appear as follows: https://www.facebook.com/login/?next= .

Step 3: add your business name to the URL

In the final step, enhance the URL created in step 2 by appending "https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fyourbusiness%2Freviews%2F" to it. However, remember to replace "your business" with your actual business name as it appears on your Facebook page's URL. With this change, the completed URL becomes your Facebook review link, structured like this (with your business name, of course): https://www.facebook.com/login/?next=https://www.facebook.com/yourbusiness/reviews/ .

Embedding Facebook review links on your website

After obtaining your Facebook review link, you can seamlessly integrate it into your website homepage or blog, providing customers with a convenient way to leave reviews without navigating to Facebook. Here's a straightforward process to achieve this:

Step 1: copy and paste the HTML code

Begin by copying the HTML code of your review link. Paste this code into a text editor like Microsoft Word or Notepad.

Step 2: embed the link

Select the text within your webpage or blog where you want to place the link. Then, use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl/Command + K to insert the copied HTML code. Once embedded, customers can effortlessly access the link by clicking the designated text.

Navigate to Facebook, and log in.

Or if you don’t have your business on Facebook, create a Facebook page for it now, and check the list below.

Checklist for Facebook Business Page:

  • Check links on the about page
  • Add a description of your business page
  • Are the photos relevant and fresh?
  • Do you have a clear profile picture? Using your company logo is recommended
  • Are your address settings up-to-date? How to reach you via email and where you can be found

Engage with Your Audience

After you’ve checked that your Facebook profile is up-to-date, it’s time to make sure you’ve responded to each and every comment, mention, review and message on Facebook messenger.

This is important, because Facebook boasts a massive user base, making it a valuable platform for businesses to connect with their target audience.

Positive reviews not only boost your brand’s credibility but also attract new customers. Moreover, Facebook reviews contribute to higher search engine visibility, helping your business rank higher in search results.

When you communicate with your existing customer base and potential customers, you’re actually doing online reputation management while being helpful.

Trust me, this is all great social proof, when prospective customers see how you interact with current customers.

Creating a Facebook Review Link

If you want to, for example, send Facebook review requests via email or add a QR code to your FB review page, you need own Facebook review link.

There are two ways to get your Facebook review links:

Create Review Links – Manually

  • Log in to your Facebook account (https://www.facebook.com/) and navigate to your business page.
  • In the browser’s address bar, you’ll find your Facebook page’s URL. If it includes a series of numbers, you need to set a username or vanity URL for your page. To do this, go to the “About” section of your page, click on “Edit Page Info,” then click on “Create Page @Username.” Follow the instructions to set a username that reflects your business name.
  • Once you have your username, add “/reviews/” to the end of it. This will create your Facebook review link.
  • Share Your Customized Review Link

No matter which way you use, the actual link will look something like this:

https://www.facebook.com/trustmaryfinland/reviews

You can now share your customized review link on your website, social media profiles, email signatures, or any other medium that allows direct access to your Facebook page.

Add Existing Facebook Reviews to Google SERPs

If you add a Facebook review widget to your website, you can actually get those reviews to pop up on Google search.

The process can be done to both Google reviews as well as Facebook reviews.

adding a review widget to website is easy and you can import reviews from all review sources such as facebook, g2, capterra, and tripadvisor

  • Create a review widget
  • Enable “ add review schema ” tab
  • Embed review widgets to your website
  • Check with Google’s rich results test that the reviews appear there
  • Ask for reindexing the page from Google’s Search Console

Then you can just wait for search engines to add those star ratings and comments to SERPs .

Optimizing Your Facebook Review Link for Maximum Visibility

To optimize your Facebook review link for the keyword “Facebook review link,” consider the following strategies:

Incorporate the Keyword in Anchor Text:

Whenever you refer to your Facebook review link, use the anchor text “Facebook review link” instead of simply writing the URL. This signals search engines that your link is relevant to this keyword.

Share the Link on Relevant Platforms

Promote your Facebook review link on platforms such as your website, blog, and social media profiles to increase its exposure.

The same practices also applie to your Google review link .

It’s best to give your customers the option to rate you on the service they wish to do so.

For instance, I don’t like to review most companies with my public gmail address. I like to stay more anonymous OR even use my Facebook account.

Know your customer segment!

Encourage Customers to Leave Reviews

Actively ask your satisfied customers to share their experiences on your Facebook page. Consider offering incentives or rewards to motivate them further.

Respond to Reviews

Engaging with customers who leave reviews shows that you value their feedback. Always respond promptly, positively, and professionally to strengthen your brand’s reputation.

Monitoring and Managing Facebook Reviews

It’s crucial to actively monitor and manage your Facebook reviews. Here are a few key steps:

1. Enable Review Notifications

Configure your Facebook settings to receive notifications whenever someone leaves a review. This ensures you can respond promptly and appropriately.

2. Regularly Check and Respond to Reviews

Dedicate time to regularly checking and responding to both positive and negative reviews. Show appreciation for positive feedback and address negative reviews with empathy and a willingness to resolve any issues.

3. Flag Inappropriate Reviews

If you come across any reviews that violate Facebook’s community standards, you have the option to flag them. Facebook will then review the reported content and take action if necessary.

8. Send SMS Messages Asking for Feedback

Did you know the majority of all searches for local businesses nowadays happen on mobile devices?

The truth is, much of the online world is navigated by mobile now, so collecting reviews in this way makes it super convenient for your customers.

You can use the power of mobile to get more Facebook reviews by asking customers to leave a review via SMS.

If customers have opted in to receive updates via text message, send them a short message containing a link to leave feedback on your Facebook page.

On top of Facebook pages, you can use SMS messages to grow your Instagram account , Facebook group, Twitter page, and more.

9. Enable Notifications for New Reviews

If you aren’t notified when people leave new reviews, you can’t respond to them or share them with others.

To enable notifications for new Facebook reviews, follow these steps:

  • Go to your Facebook page
  • Click Settings on the left column
  • Click Notifications
  • Next to New Page review, click Turn On

facebook notifications enable for reviews

  • Respond to the review as fast as you can
  • Start by politely apologizing for the problem
  • Offer them ways to reach out to your support team
  • Remind them to change the review score if you helped solve the issue

By helping a customer with a problem like this, you can improve your brand’s reputation and encourage others to leave their feedback as well.

We’ve got a full article on how to handle negative Facebook reviews here that you can check out.

11. Answer Comments and Questions From Fans

Following on from responding to negative feedback, you should also reply to comments on your Facebook page and questions from potential customers.

If people see your page is busy with activities and conversations about your product, they’re more likely to ask their own questions.

interact with fans to get more reviews

Plus, answering questions removes obstacles that prevent people from shopping with you.

Even better, if customers have a great experience with the buying process, they’re much more likely to leave a review describing that positive experience.

You can also embed Facebook posts on your website to show these interactions to your visitors.

12. Promote Stand-Out Reviews on Facebook

Actively highlighting the feedback you receive on Facebook is another way to draw attention to your reviews tab.

You can make it a regular feature to promote the best reviews on your page to celebrate your customers and add a call to action for others to leave their own feedback.

promote postive review example

Why not run a Facebook Live stream where you read out your recommendations, making it an event your fans can rally around and engage with?

Pro-tip : Are your reviews presented as videos? You can also use Custom Facebook Feed Pro to embed Facebook videos on your website .

13. Encourage Facebook Check-Ins

The likes of Foursquare made virtual check-ins to business locations a viral trend.

Facebook took that functionality and added it to business pages where customers can check-in, notifying friends of their location.

facebook checkins example

Facebook’s check-in functionality also has a nifty feature to help you collect reviews. After someone checks in, they receive a message from Facebook afterward, asking them to review the business.

Hi! Just wanted to ask – what do you call the picture on No. 5 (Send Email Invitations to Recent Customers). How do I make one? Is there an app or a website? I can’t seem to find how to make one online. Thank you!

Hi Joanna, thanks so much for your question.

That picture is a screenshot from an email newsletter. You can recreate it by adding individual call to action buttons in the body of the email, or, depending on which email provider you use, they may have social media buttons you can embed.

Hope this helps! 🙂

Facebook recently introduced new updates for Business Pages .

The main goal of the newly redesigned pages is to provide easier ways for people to interact with local businesses on social media.

According to Facebook’s VP of Local, Alex Himel, Over 1.6 billion people around the world are connected to a small business on Facebook. And starting from August 2018 Facebook is making new changes to Facebook Business Pages to help more people connect with local businesses.

One of the main updates is the further development of the feature Recommendations, which is an evolved version of the Facebook reviews system.

This new feature is already rolled out, and businesses will have the chance to see new reviews designed on their Facebook Page. The main change of the system is that the Recommendations option is integrated within the reviews and all recommendations that customers or other Facebook users previously gave will also be listed in this Reviews/Recommendations section.

As stated in the official update, Facebook is making Recommendations from the business’s community more helpful:

‘People use Recommendations to ask their communities where to go, where to eat, or where to shop on Facebook . We’re making those Recommendations more prominent on Pages.’

We are all aware that reviews and recommendations are extremely important for any company’s reputation.

facebook page stats

This means that recommendations are not only the opinions given by customers directly on the business’s Facebook page but also when people respond to their friends when they look for a recommendation on Facebook.

Note: The old Facebook reviews are safe and sound, and your Facebook Page will continue to display all previous reviews that you’ve generated.

How are Recommendations different from Reviews?

Well, there are differences:

  • Location – The Recommendations appear on the upper-right side,, and Reviews appear on the left-hand side (if not hidden).
  • Reach – Reviews are visible to any Facebook user. With Recommendations, you can limit the reach and make it more personal.
  • Format – Reviews have star ratings and comments. Recommendations have only comments.
  • Reactions – Anyone can comment and like a Review, but only people in the person’s network can comment and like a Recommendation.
  • Specifics – People can recommend a specific business feature (choose a tag that best describes their recommendation) and share a photo; Reviews don’t have such an option.

So, the bottom line is:

  • The tab is called “Reviews”
  • The feature is called “Recommendations”

How do Facebook Recommendations work?

What are the benefits of facebook recommendations.

The changes in the reviews system to recommendations are providing more options for customers to give their opinions about a certain business. Here are some of the benefits:

Facebook recommendations benefits

Increase reach with Recommendations

Your Facebook Page score will be reflected across Facebook, especially at places where customers make relevant decisions, such as Maps. Recommendations are discoverable across Facebook when people are searching for, or talking about your business. The best thing is that Facebook will show first the recommendations provided by the closest friends, which will empower the purchasing decisions and bring greater trust

photos in facebook recommendations

Post photos about the business

This option was not previously enabled in the reviews section. Now, if you tag the business in the comments section when a friend asks for a recommendation, you have the option to also post gifs or photos. The cool thing is, that all these posts will be displayed in the Recommendations section of the business’s Facebook Page as customer reviews.

The best, mobile form for leaving a recommendation has the option to upload a photo from the phone and publish it together with the text.

Note: The character limit for a desktop recommendation is 25 and for mobile is 50.

recommendations tags benefits

Tag Facebook Recommendations

When a customer leaves a recommendation directly on the Facebook page, they can choose a tag that best describes their recommendation. These Facebook tags work like hashtags for businesses, and the Facebook system generates them based on words used in past reviews.

Here is an example of how the tags are displayed when you try to add a recommendation on mobile:

How the new Facebook rating score is calculated

As outlined in the official Facebook help center , the overall Facebook Page score is calculated as follows:

A Page’s rating is based on multiple sources, such as the reviews and Recommendations people share about business Pages on Facebook.

Or click the help icon below the average score in the Reviews tab, as shown below:

How to set up Facebook Recommendations?

If you’ve already activated the Reviews tab, then you don’t need to change anything. Please note that the Recommendations are a replacement of the Reviews tab and the process to activate it is the same as before.

If you still don’t have activated the Recommendations on your Facebook Page, here is how to activate the Facebook reviews tab.

Step 1: Log in to your Facebook account and go to your business Facebook page

Step 2: Navigate to the  ‘Settings’  section on your left-hand side

Activate reviews tab in Facebook

Step 3: Click the  ‘Privacy’ menu.

Enable Facebook reviews step 2

Step 3: Click the ‘Page and tagging’ menu as shown below:

Enable Facebook reviews step 2

Step 4: In this section, find the option ‘Allow others to view and leave reviews on your Page’ and make the toggle ON.

Enable Facebook reviews step 3

That’s it. Now, the reviews tab will appear on your page.

Example of Facebook page reviews tab

How to Recommend a Business on Facebook

This process is the one that has the biggest change.

To recommend a business on Facebook, you will need to open the business’s Facebook Page that you want to recommend.

Please note that previously, there was an option to ‘ Write a review ‘ and select the review score from 1-5. Now you do not actually leave a review for the business, but you are recommending it. You have only two recommendation options, to select ‘Yes’ or ‘No’, which means you want to recommend the business or not. Simple as that.

Here are the steps for how to leave a Facebook review:

  • Click the Reviews/Recommendations tab
  • Click ‘Yes’ to recommend the Page
  • Write your recommendation, and if you use mobile, upload a photo along with the recommendation text
  • You can also choose a tag such as great service, amazing staff or similar

recommend a business

Additionally, you can recommend a business by leaving a comment by tagging a business’s Facebook Page when some of your Facebook friends ask for recommendations.

And this tutorial is very important for business owners who want to get more Facebook reviews so they can explain this step-by-step process to their customers on how to navigate their Facebook Page reviews tab and how to recommend their business.

The Significance of Facebook Recommendations for Local Businesses

Here’s why these Facebook recommendations have become pivotal for local enterprises:

Boost in Credibility and Trust

Facebook recommendations serve as modern word-of-mouth referrals. When potential customers see positive recommendations from their friends or others in the community, it enhances the credibility of the business. In a digital age, many customers trust online reviews as much as personal recommendations, making these endorsements vital for establishing trust.

Enhanced Visibility and Organic Reach

When a user leaves a recommendation, it can be seen by their friends and connections. This means a local business can benefit from increased visibility without investing in paid advertising. Each recommendation acts as a mini marketing campaign, potentially reaching hundreds or even thousands of prospective clients without any added effort or expense from the business.

Influence on Buying Decisions

Recommendations can play a decisive role in a customer’s buying journey. A positive recommendation can sway uncertain customers towards trying out a local business. Conversely, negative feedback can serve as constructive criticism, allowing businesses to improve and address genuine concerns.

Enhanced Engagement and Community Building

Recommendations often spur conversations about the business, either through questions, shared experiences, or stories. This not only spreads awareness but fosters a sense of community around the brand. Engaging with these recommendations and comments can further personalize a business’s connection with its customer base, establishing loyalty and repeat business.

How to Report a Facebook Recommendation

Most of the online review platforms such as Google, TripAdvisor, and Yelp allow an option to report negative reviews that a business wants to be removed or delegated from their business listing or Facebook page in the case of Facebook reviews.

Similar to the previous option for reporting reviews, this option is now available, and you can report a Recommendation that violates Facebook’s Community Standards.

To do this, follow the steps:

  • Go to the recommendation that you want to report and click the 3 dots in the top right corner
  • Select “Find support or report Recommendation”
  • Choose the topic and click “Submit”

In this relation, we recommend reading the following blog post:

Our review of the Allswell Mattress

What are your alternatives, the bottom line, allswell mattress review 2024: this walmart-exclusive is the best bed under $500.

As a sleep reporter who has tested more than 90 mattresses for our guide to the best mattresses , I've found you get what you pay for. We generally recommend spending at least $1,000 on a mattress. But if you can't spend that much, there are still some good options under $500.

After testing 13 budget mattresses, I found the Allswell Mattress as the best cheap mattress , though it's not without its drawbacks. Below are my experiences with the Walmart brand's flagship mattress after sleeping on it for 14 nights and putting it through our battery of objective tests.

The Allswell Mattress is the best hybrid we’ve tested for under $500. It's firm enough to support stomach and back sleepers and ideal for couples with its impressive edge support and motion isolation.

  • Check mark icon A check mark. It indicates a confirmation of your intended interaction. Good motion dampening
  • Check mark icon A check mark. It indicates a confirmation of your intended interaction. Great firmness for stomach and back sleepers

Construction

Most sub-$500 mattresses are made exclusively of foam. Of the hybrids I tested in this price range, the Allswell is the only model I'd recommend. Hybrids consist of pocket coils or springs and foam. Combining the materials gives you the benefits of both.

The top features high-density foam and a quilted panel that you can spot clean with mild detergent and warm water. Then a gel-infused memory foam layer is designed to dissipate heat. Below, a comfort foam layer offers pressure relief and optimal spinal alignment. Then, pocket springs make up the thickest layer, offering motion isolation, support, and durability. The bottom layer is durable high-density foam. All foams in the Allswell are CertiPUR-US certified .

The Allswell is the brand's flagship mattress and most affordable option. It also makes four other mattresses, from lowest to highest price:

  • Allswell Luxe :  The Luxe is 12 inches thick and appears to have a similar construction as the flagship mattress, aside from a layer of copper-infused memory foam just below the quilted top panel. Copper-infused memory foam tends to keep you cooler.
  • Allswell Brick : The Brick has the same thickness and construction as the Luxe. The difference is the copper-infused memory foam layer is thinner, and there's a thicker high-density support foam below it, contributing to a firmer feel.
  • Allswell Supreme :  At 14 inches, the Supreme is the thickest Allswell mattress. The construction is similar to the Brick, only it has a thicker quilted top and an extra layer of memory foam for pressure relief. For an additional $40, you can add a cooling quilted cover
  • Allswell Organic :  This eco-friendly mattress is made of organic latex, cotton, and wool. The pocket springs are made of recycled steel.

Setup The Allswell Mattress features a quilted cover that you can spot clean with warm water and mild detergent. James Brains/Business Insider

The Allswell mattress is delivered to your door in a mini fridge-sized box. Instructions aren't included, but it's easy enough to figure out that you need to open the box and remove the plastic to allow the vacuum-sealed mattress to expand. I recommend using a letter opener-style cutter to cut through the plastic without damaging the mattress.

The setup process took five minutes. At 82 pounds, the Allswell is lighter than the average of mattresses I've tested (105 pounds), making setup easier. Still, 82 pounds may be unmanageable for some. Unfortunately, unlike many of the best mattress-in-a-box companies, Allswell doesn't offer an in-home setup service.

When I unboxed the mattress in the morning, I noticed a mild "new bed smell." By bedtime, this dissipated, and the bed expanded to full size.

The Allswell mattress has medium-firm firmness, meaning it's firmer than most mattresses but not as firm as it gets. I slept best on my stomach and back. The firmness was too intense to sleep comfortably on my side.

I wear the Garmin Forerunner 945 watch while sleeping. It gives me a sleep score each morning based on my REM, restless, deep, and overall sleep. While testing the Allswell, my sleep quality was above my average and better than any other cheap mattress I tested. Objectively, the mattress facilitated better sleep.

Subjectively, I awoke often in the night while testing the Allswell, but I had no trouble falling back asleep. Each morning, I felt refreshed, and my body was mostly pain-free, an impressive feat considering I was training for a marathon.

Heat dissipation

I test heat dissipation with a laser thermometer. To see how cool the mattress stays, I measure its surface temperature before bed and when I get up. Two minutes later, I take another reading to assess its heat dissipation.

When it came to staying cool, the Allswell was hotter than average, increasing by 20 degrees Fahrenheit while I lay on it, from 67 degrees to 87 degrees. Plus, it was among the worst at dissipating heat, only dropping 11 degrees. The average was a 13-degree decrease. A few nights during my testing, I felt like I was overheating on the Allswell.

Edge support

With good edge support, you can spread out and still feel comfortable when on a mattress's peripheries. This is helpful when you're sharing a bed. The supportive coils of the Allswell help facilitate good edge support. Using a yardstick, I measured a 3.5-inch dip as I sat on the edge, which is average for the mattresses I've tested. The edge support was more pronounced when lying on the edge. I felt fully supported and had to roll quite far before falling off.

Motion isolation

I have two tests for motion isolation. The bowling ball test involves dropping a bowling ball from 4 feet above the mattress so that it lands a foot from a soda can. The mattress has great motion-dampening properties if the can stays upright. It could use some improvement if the can falls. On the other side of the bed, I place a vibrometer to measure the vibrations produced by the bowling ball and compare the readings to other mattresses.

Using both measures, the Allswell has good motion isolation. It passed the bowling ball test about half the time and registered a 7.1 on the vibrometer, which is better than most.

Usually, mattresses with good motion isolation have poor bounce. Yet, the Allswell balanced the two. This and the good edge support make the Allswell a solid option for couples.

Trial period and warranty

You can try the Allswell mattress risk-free for 90 nights. If you don't like it, you can return it for a full refund.

If you decide to keep the mattress, it's backed by a 10-year warranty . However, there are some catches:

  • The warranty is void if you don't use it on a proper foundation, such as "slatted wood or metal foundations with slats no more than 4'' apart, wood or metal box foundations, and solid wood or metal platforms, as well as adjustable bases."
  • The warranty is also void if you remove the "do not remove this tag under penalty of law" tag.

On the plus side, sticking customers with the shipping costs for a warranty replacement is a common practice that Allswell does not engage in. Instead, it covers the shipping costs.

If $500 is your maximum budget, the Allswell is the mattress back and stomach sleepers, couples, and cold sleepers should get. If you don't fall into any of these categories, my best cheap mattress guide has many recommendations to fit your needs.

For example, side sleepers will likely prefer the Siena Memory Foam Mattress 's softer-than-average feel. The motion isolation and edge support make it a great option for couples, and it dissipates heat well and stays cool.

Allswell also makes an upgrade mattress that costs just $70 more called the Luxe, which is a bit more comfortable for side sleepers. Read our full Allswell Luxe Mattress review .

The Allswell Supreme is another solid under-$500 option. I liked that the medium firmness helped with side and stomach sleeping. It also has impressive edge support and solid motion isolation. Read my full Allswell Supreme Mattress review .

The Allswell Brick Hybrid Mattress costs $427 and is Allswell's firmest option, making it a better solution for stomach sleepers. And, Allswell's priciest option is the Allswell Organic Mattress . It features GOLS-certified organic latex and GOTS-certified organic wool and cotton. At $762, it costs less than any of the best organic mattresses in our guide, making it an affordable, eco-conscious choice.

If you have $700 to spend, go with the Nectar Mattress . The average firmness will appeal to all sleep styles. It has outstanding edge support, motion isolation, and heat dissipation. Plus, it comes with a 365-night trial period and a lifetime warranty. Read our full Nectar Mattress review .

For more mattress recommendations, check out our guide to the best mattresses .

The Allswell Mattress is the best mattress I've tested for under $500. I had outstanding sleep quality on it. The firmness is ideal for stomach and back sleepers. Couples will appreciate the motion isolation and edge support. This price point will always have negatives, and the Allswell is no exception. Fortunately, if you find it's too firm or sleeps too hot, you can return the mattress within 90 days for a full refund. If you're looking for a budget mattress, this is the one to get.

Michael Cohen set to testify at Trump hush money trial Monday

By CNN's Kara Scannell, Lauren Del Valle and Jeremy Herb in the courthouse

Takeaways from Day 15 of the Donald Trump hush money trial

From CNN's Jeremy Herb, Lauren del Valle and Kara Scannell

Prosecutors say it’s entirely possible they could rest their case by the end of next week. Here are the takeaways from day 15 of the Trump hush money trial:

Cohen is on deck: Donald Trump's former attorney Michael Cohen is expected to take the stand Monday and testify to his role in negotiating the hush money payment to Stormy Daniels on Trump’s behalf, as well as how he was reimbursed through retainer payments in 2017 that are at the heart of the charges against Trump. However, his testimony comes with baggage. Cohen himself was federally charged with campaign finance violations, tax crimes and lying to Congress in previous testimony. He’s changed his story as he turned from loyal Trump defender to a chief antagonist after  pleading guilty to the federal charges in 2018 . Cohen’s credibility with the jury may make or break Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s case, so it will be high stakes for the prosecution when Cohen is sworn in.

Judge to Cohen: Please stop talking: Trump attorney Todd Blanche urged Judge Juan Merchan to order Cohen to stop talking about the trial and Trump. Trump is not allowed to talk about Cohen because of the gag order in place. But, Blanche said, Cohen is nevertheless allowed to attack him. Assistant District Attorney Joshua Steinglass responded that prosecutors have repeatedly instructed Cohen and all of the other witnesses in the case not to speak publicly about it. “The fact of the matter is, we have no control over what they do,” he conceded. Merchan has already said he cannot gag witnesses in the case. But he sympathized with Blanche’s position and said that he would “direct the people to communicate to Mr. Cohen that the judge is asking him to refrain from making any more statements” about this case or Trump.

Trump is all smiles at testimony of former White House aide: Trump exchanged smiles with his former White House assistant Madeleine Westerhout, who wrapped up her testimony Friday that began one day prior. She raised her eyebrows and smiled at Trump who smiled back at her and mouthed something as she left the courtroom. Westerhout testified that she remembered Trump was upset after the Daniels story came out in 2018. She testified that Trump signed scores of documents a day while multitasking on the phone or in meetings, and she said she’d seen him signing checks without reviewing them.

Prosecutors introduce key text and call records into evidence: After Westerhout left the stand, prosecutors spent the rest of the day calling custodial witnesses to introduce cell phone records into evidence. It made for a dry day of testimony, but it also provided key evidence that prosecutors plan to use to convince the jury that Trump is guilty of falsifying business records.

Prosecution may rest next week: Steinglass said that prosecutors expect to call two more witnesses, and then rest. “And I think it’s entirely possible we will rest by the end of next week,” he added. When the prosecution rests, it will be Trump’s turn. It’s not clear how long he will put on a case in defense – a question that is likely to rest largely on whether or not Trump himself takes the stand.

Read all the takeaways here .

Here are all the witnesses who have testified so far in the Trump hush money trial

From CNN staff

Donald Trump's longtime assistant, the former banker of Trump's attorney Michael Cohen and adult film actress Stormy Daniels are among witnesses who have taken the stand so far in the hush money trial.

As of Friday, here's everybody we've heard from so far:

  • David Pecker — the former CEO of American Media Inc., the National Enquirer's parent company — was the first witness called to testify. After more than 10 hours of testimony across four days, he offered illuminating details into how the infamous tabloid operated and conducted so-called “catch and kill” operations.
  • Rhona Graff , Trump's longtime assistant at the Trump Organization, was called to testify briefly on April 26.
  • Gary Farro , the former banker of Cohen, walked the jury through Cohen’s bank activity around the payment to Daniels.
  • Keith Davidson , the former lawyer for model and actress Karen McDougal as well as for Daniels, was on the stand for nearly 6 hours   over two days.
  • Douglas Daus works for the Manhattan District Attorney's High Technology Analysis Unit, and was assigned to analyze two iPhones that  belonged to Cohen  in the investigation related to Trump. They were obtained via a search warrant. Daus testified about the  "unusual" amount of contacts  and other things he found on Cohen's phone.
  • Hope Hicks , Trump's longtime former aide, testified for a little less than three hours about her role as Trump’s 2016 campaign press secretary, the aftermath of  the “Access Hollywood” tape release  and Cohen's payment to Daniels.
  • Jeffrey McConney , a former Trump Organization controller, testified about  how Cohen's payments were listed  in Trump's financial documents.
  • Deborah Tarasoff, the accounts payable supervisor in the accounting department at the Trump Organization, explained how checks were cut to Cohen  in 2017 and testified that  invoices over $10,000  had to be approved by Trump or one of his sons.
  • Sally Franklin , the senior vice president and executive managing editor for Penguin Random House publishing group, testified for  46 minutes . Prosecutors used her testimony to enter  excerpts from Trump’s books  into evidence.
  • Stormy Daniels, who's at the center of the hush money case, was on the stand for 6 hours and 10 minutes over two days of testimony. Daniels walked the jury through details about her alleged sexual encounter with Trump in 2006 and the $130,000 hush money payment from Trump's ex-attorney Michael Cohen shortly  before the 2016 election . Trump attorney Susan Necheles hammered down on Daniels in cross-examination to establish some of the ways she gained publicity and money from her story going public.
  • Rebecca Manochio , a junior bookkeeper at the Trump Organization, testified for about 35 minutes. The prosecution used Manochio to submit invoices , documents and emails as evidence.

Sketches from Friday's court proceedings

From CNN Digital's Photo Desk

This courtroom sketch shows former President Donald Trump seated in front of presiding Judge Juan Merchan on Friday, with Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg in the foreground.

Cameras aren’t allowed in the courtroom during the trial, but sketch artists have been filling in to give the public an idea of what it looks like.

Check out some of these sketches that were made of Friday’s proceedings, which included testimony from former White House aide Madeleine Westerhout and paralegals Georgia Longstreet and Jaden Jarmel-Schneider.

Trump laments his gag order: "Everybody can say whatever they want"

From CNN's Aditi Sangal

Former President Donald Trump, with attorney Todd Blanche, speaks to the press before leaving for the day Friday.

As Donald Trump left court Friday, he lamented his gag order while others say "whatever they want."

"Everybody can say whatever they want," he said. "But I'm not allowed to say anything about anybody."

"It's a disgrace," he added.

He went on to show clips of stories criticizing the case, including from Jonathan Turley and Sean Hannity. Trump also repeatedly attacked President Joe Biden and took credit for the stock market going up, claiming it's a response to his leading in the polls.

During the trial on Friday, CNN's reporters saw Trump going through a large pile of clips.

Prosecutors leave the courtroom

Prosecutors have left the courtroom following day 15 of Trump's criminal hush money trial.

Trump has turned to leave, papers in hand.

When walking out, he motioned for Jeanine Pirro to follow him. She's still sitting in her seat in the press gallery.

Merchan tells prosecutors to ask Cohen not to make statements about Trump or the case

Judge Juan Merchan says that he would "direct the people to communicate to Mr. (Michael) Cohen that the judge is asking him to refrain from making any more statements" about this case or Trump.

Merchan tells prosecutors to inform him this is coming from the bench.

Prosecutors say they've "repeatedly" asked their witnesses to not talk about the case

Trump attorney Todd Blance is asking Judge Juan Merchan to order the prosecution to instruct Michael Cohen, who is expected to begin testifying Monday, not to talk about this case.

The defense team is asking "the court order the government to instruct the witness to not talk about President Trump or this case until the case is over," Blanche says.

Prosecutor Joshua Steinglass responds saying they have "no control" over what witnesses do.

"We have repeatedly — repeatedly — asked the witnesses not to do that," he says, adding prosecutors "have repeatedly instructed all of the witnesses in this case to the extent we have control over it."

Defense attorney asks judge to put gag order on Cohen

Trump attorney Todd Blanche is now moving on to ask that the judge put a gag order in place so Michael Cohen cannot speak publicly about the case.

Blanche points to the TikTok Cohen posted this week wearing a white T-shirt with a picture of Trump behind bars. He's also asking for the judge to order the prosecution to instruct the witness not to talk about this case.

Cohen is expected to begin his testimony on Monday.
