English is definitely a scoring subject which makes it even more special for me. I am an average student who does not take much interest in Science. I manage to get decent marks in the subjects, but in English, I score well. When we compare English to other subjects, we see it is most scoring.

English does not demand word to word answers. It gives the child a chance to play with words. It gives them the creative liberty to speak their minds out. My Favourite Subject – Essay 2

When I was in standard five, I happened to fail in history in the first unit test, and then daddy began teaching me history. He is a professor of history and is an expert in the subject.

He explained to me the events and incidents given in the textbooks as if they were all interesting stories. I did very well in history as in the next examination.

But more than that, I had developed an abiding love for the subject. From then on, history has always been my favourite subject. I love reading about the Battles of Panipat , about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s victories and the great Indian freedom struggle. The bravery of the Rani of Jhansi fascinates me.

I always in search of books that tell me more about these great people, especially their childhood. There is the story of how Gandhiji refused to copy the word he had mis-spelt.

Or the one about how tilak, in the school he had not thrown peanut shells on the floor. Or the one of how Vallabhbhai Patel took a hot iron to burn a boil under his armpit. These stories show me how brave and truthful these great leaders were, even as children. Many of my friends complain that history is a very dull and hard subject. Thankfully, it isn’t for me. It shall always be my one and only favourite subject.

My Favourite Subject is Maths

Many student fears to Maths subject, I was among them only. Once I failed in the Mathematics, I was depressed. My friends start making fun of me.

I was lucky that my mother was a Maths Teacher, she always prompts me that, Rahul lets ply with maths, but I didn’t take that seriously.

When I told, my mother that I have failed in maths subject, she got shocked. But thankfully, she didn’t shout at me, instead of that she give me an inspirational speech.

Later on she start teaching me Mathematics, she taught me to play with maths and really I enjoyed a lot, from that day Maths became my favourite subject.

I score out of marks in this subject. Now I also teach those friends who really fear to Maths. They have set a mentality of that maths subject is very difficult and it has hell lot of formula to remember.

But my mother taught me maths in fun way; I used that technique to solve the problem. Now I generally search for problem to solve them. From this my confidence level has increase and I’m happy that most difficult subject has become a game for me.

Becoming engineer is my ambition, and in Engineering there are hell lots of complex problem, so I wish it will be easy for me.

My favourite subject in school is Science. It is my favourite subject because I never face any problem while learning it and it came easy to me. I always score good marks in my science test.

It has illustrations and photographs . What is the level of this book ? It says that is for kids but it can be used for adults. It has written, listening speaking and viewing . The word viewing is new for kids but for adults is not used. It includes: narrating and entertaining writing a story , explaining and informing , writing a research paper, writing to express an opinion , writing to persuade , tools and tips, writing process, write a description , but there is prewriting where you choose a topic, explore it and organize it, writing a working draft revising proofreading and publishing. It is for fourth graders.

Introduction

There are many subjects we study in our school curriculum but every student has an interest in studying and exploring a particular subject.

We had two books of English up to class 8th. Further, we had one book containing drama. We have separate teachers for teaching us grammar and literature. I eagerly wait for the period of English.

Why English is my Favourite Subject?

The subject of English helps me in increasing my vocabulary and reading capability. I am fond of reading stories and poems and later on, I use to write it all in my own words. We also have our assignments. We have to perform skits or presentations on the provided topic. I choose to perform a skit and always did the role of the narrator. English is a subject that helps me in improving my writing skills. I wrote many small stories based on my imagination and my story was published in our school library collection. My love for this subject gave me good English speaking ability.

In the future, I want to become a professor of English in any of the central universities. For this, I have to reveal this subject from every angle. The literature part of English is my priority. I can deliver good speeches on any occasion in my school because of my love for this subject.

We have come to know about the existence of several civilizations from history only. History reveals our culture and heritage. I love traveling to different places and learn about historical monuments. Many times we had a study tour from our school side and my teacher would take us to the places having their historical importance.

I was much interested in knowing about what had happened in our past, how people led their lives earlier, what tools and devices they used, how they traveled, and many more questions. I am able to know about the story of the freedom fighters and their involvement in making our country an independent nation. There are many branches of History but I love reading ancient history. It gives knowledge about the Vedas and great epics like Ramayana and Mahabharata.

I love History as my favorite subject. I am having an interest in revealing and understanding the happenings which took place in the past. I also have a good collection of books related to the subject of History.

Another topic that I find interesting in this subject is the position of women in different eras and various dynasties. Women had to face a lot of injustice in the past. They were mostly confined to the household tasks and were not allowed to work outside. Their whole and sole duty was to serve their family by carrying out the household chores. They did not have the right to question or go against the will of the man of the house. My favourite hobby is watching TV. Whenever I have free time, I love watching Television. It never obstructs my studies. Hobbies help us to expand our knowledge, and it teaches us several things. First, I like to finish all my school homework and then start watching TV. This lightens my mood and sparks up the excitement inside me, as it increases my curiosity about the world. Watching different useful stuff on TV enhances my knowledge horizons and gives me lots of joy.

Benefit of My Hobby

It is a good habit because watching TV escorts a lot of knowledge in various fields. There are several channels on TV, which represent worldwide affairs. I watch the news and I like channels, such as animal planet, discovery channel or another informative channel. These channels increase my curiosity and encourage me to learn about different aspects of life.

I interestingly watch a cartoon network that provides me with creative and new ideas to make cartoons and arts. Some of my favourite comics are Mr Bean, Tom and Jerry, Scooby-Doo and many more. Many art-themed cartoons, like The Pink Panther and SpongeBob, inspire me to draw them. Primarily, the artworks of comics attract me and inspire me to decorate my scrapbooks with their figures.

My parents praise my hobby, and they are also happy when they see me watching national and international news and several events on the TV. Moreover, they feel proud when they listen to the news update from me.

Now, I study in class with two and eight years old girls. Creating jokes, sitting idle and spending time roaming around is unproductive, according to my parents. My parents made sure that I developed my hobbies from childhood. Therefore, they encouraged me to create some good habits.

Watching TV in a proper way gives you so many important roles. It helps us to make something creative. And this is the most valuable part of my hobby. Television brings together numerous elements of imagination and ideas from different genres and allows me to explore them.

You can have more than one hobby, as they are not restricted to any particular limit. All the things that you have an interest in can be regarded as a hobby. A person can have multiple areas of interest and have more than one activity as a hobby.

I, too, have more than one hobby. Other than watching TV, I like to listen to music. This helps me keep myself calm after doing lots of work and gives my ears and heart a soothing effect.

Besides these, I also have hobbies, such as reading comic books, painting, writing narrative stories, and maintaining a scrapbook. These activities make me happy and enhance my hidden qualities. Writing and reading boost my imagination. Along with these activities, I participate in gardening in my leisure time because I love to plant new and colourful flowers.

Moreover, I like dancing and singing. These are the activities I often do whenever I find time after completing my studies and homework. I do participate in singing and dancing competitions as well because I like to sing and dance. My teachers and parents always appreciate and encourage me to pursue my hobbies.
