Importance and Uses of Library لائبریری کی اہمیت و افادیت

مفہوم اور معنی:-

پڑھنے اور مطالعے کیلئے کتابوں کا مجموعہ جو کسی عمارت یا کمرے میں رکھا ہوا ہو اسے لائبریری کہتے ہیں۔

لاطینی زبان میں لائبر LIBER کتاب کو کہتے ہیں۔ یونانی زبان کا ایک لفظ BIBLIOTHECA کو جرمن ، روسی اور رومن زبانوں میں لائبریری کہا جاتا ہے۔ دونوں زبانوں کے دو مختلف مختلف الفاظ کو مختصر کر کے لائبریری کا نام دیا گیا ہے۔ موجودہ دور کی لائبریریوں میں اخبارات ، رسالے ہر عنوان پر فلمیں ، سلائیڈز ، ویڈیو کیسٹیں ،رنگین ٹی وی ،ٹیپ ریکارڈر، فوٹوکاپی مشین دیگر مواد کے علاوہ ہر موضوع پر کتب بھی دستیاب ہیں۔

ترقیاتی یافتہ مماملک میں انٹرنیٹ کی جدید سہولتیں بھی لائبریریوں میں موجود ہیں ۔ کراچی اور لاہور میں امریکی اور برطانیوں لائبریریوں میں یہ تمام جدید سہولتیں دستیاب ہیں۔ معمولی فیس ادا کرنے پر آپ دنیا بھر کے کسی بھی موضوع پر انٹرنیٹ سے فوری معلومات مل سکتی ہیں۔

دنیا بھر میں لائبریری کی ابتداء عراق سے ہوئی جہاں کاغذ کی ایجاد سے پہلے لکڑی کی گیلی تختیوں پر عبارات لکھ کر خشک کر کے محفوظ کر لیا جاتا تھا۔ ایسی تختیاں برآمد ہوتی ہیں ۔ لکھنے کے مواد کو اکٹھا کرنے کا پہلا طریقہ یہی تھا جو پہلی لائبریری کہلاتا ہے۔ کاغذ کا موجد چین ہے۔جس نے دنیا بھر سے پہلے کاغذ پر لکھنے کا آغاز کیا۔ پھر یہ فن مصر میں آیا جہاں کاغذ کے لمبے ٹکڑوں پر حکمت کے راز اور شاہی فرمان لکھنے شروع ہوئے۔ مصر میں لائبریریاں عبادت گاہوں کے اندر مذہبی پیشواؤں کی زیر نگرانی کام کرتی تھیں۔ مصر کے شہر سکندریہ میں پہلا کتب خانہ قائم کیا گیا۔ 1800ء میں امریکی لائبریری آف کانگرس قائم کی گئی پھر 1917ء میں لینن لائبریری ماسکو میں بنائی گئی۔ چین کی بیجنگ لائبریری 'ٹوکیو کی نیشنل لائٹ لائبریری' دنیا کی بڑی لائبریریوں میں شمار ہوتی ہے۔

لائبریری کا موجودہ معیار:-

علم کو پھیلانے کیلئے سائنسی، طبی اور انجینئرنگ کے موضوعات پر کتابیں لکھی گئیں۔ پھر کاروبار اور قانون پر کتب سامنے آئیں۔ ریفرنس کتب، سوانح حیات اور معلومات پر انسائیکلوپیڈیا شائع ہونے شروع ہوئے۔ امریکہ اور یورپ کے ممالک میں سفری لائبریریاں بھی قائم ہیں۔ جو بڑے بڑے شہروں کے علاوہ چھوٹے چھوٹے قصبوں میں جاکر پڑھنے والوں کو سہولتیں فراہم کرتی ہیں۔ ان ممالک میں بسوں کے طویل سفر کرنے والے مسافروں کیلئے بسوں میں مختلف کتب اور رسالے رکھے ہوئے ہیں۔ یورپ میں ڈاکٹروں کی کلینک پر ماہوار رسالے مفت فراہم کئے جاتے ہیں۔ تاکہ انتظار کرنے والے مریض اس دوران رسالوں کا مطالعہ کرسکیں۔ ہر لائبریری کا موجودہ سٹاک ایک کیٹالاگ میں مصنف کا نام اور کتاب کے نام سے ترتیب دیا ہوتا ہے۔ آپکو جس کتاب کی ضرورت ہو آپ آسانی سے کیٹالاگ سے ڈھونڈ سکتے ہیں۔ دیگر صورت میں لائبربرین آپ کی رہنمائی کرے گا۔

معیاری لائبریریوں میں معیاری کتب خانوں کی طرح ہر عنوان کے علیحدہ شیلف بنے ہوتے ہیں۔ جنہیں حروف تہجی کے لحاظ سے ترتیب دیا جاتا ہے۔ بچوں کی کتب علیحدہ رکھی جاتی ہیں۔ بچوں کی جدید ایسی کتب بھی تیار کر لی گئی ہیں۔ جن کے صفحات میں آواز سننے کیلئے چھوٹی سی سیٹی نماز آواز بھری جاتی ہے۔ کتاب میں جس جانور یا پرندے کے متعلق رنگدار تصاویر کے ساتھ معلومات لکھی ہوتی ہیں۔ اسی صفحہ کو دبانے پر اسی متعلق پرندوں یا جانور کی آواز سنائی دے گی۔ یہ کتابیں پاکستان کے بڑے بڑے شہروں میں کہیں کہیں دیکھنے میں آئی ہیں۔ یورپ میں اس قسم کی بچوں کی کتب عام ملتی ہیں ان ممالک میں جنات یا پریوں کی کہانیاں شائع نہیں ہوتیں۔ ان کی جگہ کمپیوٹر کی جدید سہولتوں اور سائنسی معلومات پر کتب رکھی گئی ہیں۔

طالب علموں کیلئے اگر کسی کتب سے متعلقہ مضمون کی پیچیدگی سمجھ نہ آئے تو بعض مضامین کے متعلق ٹیپ ریکارڈرز کی سہولتیں میسر ہیں۔ چھوٹی سی ٹیپ کیساتھ ہیڈ فون کانوں کو لگا کر اس مضمون کے متعلق طالب علم اکیلا سن سکتا ہے۔ انٹرنیٹ کی سہولتیں بھی فراہم کر دی گئی ہیں۔ جسے کاروباری لوگ دنیا کے کسی ملک سے اپنی ٹریڈ کے بارے میں فوری رابطہ کرسکتے ہیں۔ موجودہ جدید لائبریری آپکو سائنسی، تعلیمی اور معلوماتی موضوع پر فوری طور پر درست اعداد و شمار معلومات فراہم کرنے میں مدد دے گی۔

پاکستان میں لائبریریوں کی سہولتیں:-

کراچی، لاہور اور اسلام آباد میں جدید لائبریری کی سہولتیں موجود ہیں۔ امریکی اور برطانوی لائبریریاں خاص طور پر قابل ذکر ہیں۔ بعض پبلک لائبریریاں معیاری کتب کے علاوہ جدید سہولتیں بھی فراہم کرتی ہیں۔ یونیورسٹی اور کالج لائبریریاں بھی کسی حد تک اس معیار پر پورا اترتی ہیں مگر سالانہ فنڈ نہ ہونے کی وجہ سے بعض دفعہ ان کیلئے نئی کتابیں خریدنا مشکل ہو جاتا ہے۔ کاغذ کی مہنگائی نے پاکستان میں لائبریری کے معیار کو بڑھنے نہیں دیا۔ سکول اور کالج کی ٹیسٹ بکس بہت مہنگی ہو گئی ہیں۔ مصروف زندگی نے کتابیں پڑھنے کا ذوق بھی چھین لیا ہے۔

بڑی لائبریریوں میں امتحانات کے موقع پر نوجوان طبقہ ہی دکھائی دیتا ہے۔ عام آدمی کا پڑھنے کا ذوق اب تقریباً ختم ہورہا ہے۔ اخبارات کی قیمتیں بڑھنے سے لوگوں میں اخبار پڑھنے کا رجحان مزید کم ہو گیا ہے۔ روزانہ اخبار خریدنے والا فرد اب ہفتہ میں صرف ایک دن سنڈے ایڈیشن پر ہی اکتفا کرتا ہے۔ چند سال پہلے ہر بڑے چھوٹے شہروں میں صبح شام کرایہ پر کتابیں مل جایا کرتی تھیں، جو محلہ لائبریریاں کہلاتی تھیں۔ اب ان لائبریریوں میں سیکنڈ ہینڈ کتب اور رسالوں نے جگہ لے لی ہے۔ ریلوے سٹیشنوں پر مسافر سفر گزارنے کیلئے ڈائجسٹ خریدتے ہیں وہ بھی صرف سفر کے دوران، علم کی روشنی پھیلانے کیلئے سکولوں، کالجوں اور یونیورسٹیوں کی کتب خریدنے کیلئے خصوصی گرانٹ ملنی چاہیے۔

A library can be defined as a building used to keep printed books, digital resources, magazines, newspapers, periodicals, CDs, audio and video recordings, and other reading materials. A library performs a two-fold job – it not only stores reading materials but also provides a healthy, conducive environment for reading and research. All such materials are systematically arranged so they can be easily located and used when needed.

Types of Libraries:

There are several different types of libraries, like academic libraries, public libraries, school libraries, special libraries, national libraries, and so on. Here follows a brief description of each.

School Libraries: As the very name suggests, the school libraries are installed and managed at a school. They usually serve the students from kindergarten to grade 12.

Academic Libraries: Attached to academic institutions, like schools, colleges, and universities, the academic libraries aim at specifically serving the students, research scholars, educators, and the staff of the academic institution.

Public Libraries: Also called a circulating library, the public library is meant for and accessible by the public. It is usually funded from public resources and may be run by the civil servants. It serves every person freely, in as little or as much depth as they want.

National Library: Specially established by the government of a country, the national library serves as the preeminent repository for the given country. Unlike a public library, it rarely allows citizens to borrow books or other reading materials. A national library houses a collection of rare, significant and valuable works.

Special Library: Popularized at the beginning of the 20th century, a public library aims to serve a particular group of people such as the members of a research or professional body, or the employees of a government firm. They are built in a specialized environment, such as corporations, museums, hospitals, the government, the military, and private business.

Importance of Libraries in the Modern World:

Though the World Wide Web, TV and smartphone have revolutionized the means of access to knowledge, the importance of libraries is still intact. Even though the world of information is just a click or tap away, people still love to go to the library. At least, it provides them with a healthy environment for reading.

Listed below are some of the logical reasons why libraries still needed:

• Educational Resource for Everyone: Libraries at schools or other places play an important role in providing accessible, safe and 100% free educational resource to everyone. Irrespective of their socioeconomic standing, the individuals and families can count on a library to provide them with means they need to succeed.
• A Healthy, Conducive Learning Environment: In congested residential areas, the libraries provide a better, healthier and more conducive environment for reading, learning, and conducting research projects.
• Boosting Local Economy: Though people are usually less aware of this fact, a library plays an essential role in financially strengthening the local community. It plays multiple key roles in this regard, such as providing a workspace for telecommuters, supplying free internet to individuals looking for jobs, offering interview training to those in need, and so on.
• Preservation of History and Truth: Housing and safeguarding centuries of learning and information, the libraries serve to preserve history, and more importantly, the truth. They fight against misinformation by providing free access to news, historical and educational resources to people in general.
• Connecting Communities: A library also connects individuals and communities in a way that benefits everyone. It pools local resources for learning and systematically manages them all under one welcoming roof for everyone to share.

طلباء کے درمیان وسیع اور وسیع قارئین کی حوصلہ افزائی کرنے کے مقصد سے ہر اسکول کو ایک لائبریری برقرار رکھنی چاہیے۔ اس سے تدریسی پروگرام کی ترقی میں بھی مدد ملے گی۔ آج کے تعلیمی نظام کے بدلتے ہوئے پیٹرن میں لائبریری خود تعلیم کو فروغ دینے، معلومات کے حصول اور تحقیق کی سہولیات فراہم کرنے کا سب سے طاقتور میڈیا سمجھا جاتا ہے۔ ہندوستان کے ایک نامور لائبریری سائنسدان ڈاکٹر آر ایل ملتل، اس لیے کہتے ہیں، “ایک اچھی طرح سے لیس اور اچھی طرح سے منظم لائبریری درحقیقت جدید تعلیمی ڈھانچے کا سنگ بنیاد ہے۔”

اسکول کی لائبریری کے مقاصد:

اسکول کی لائبریری کو درج ذیل مقاصد کے ساتھ کام کرنا چاہیے:

1. طلباء کو کتابوں کے صحیح استعمال سے متعارف کروانے کے لیے، لائبریری کیٹلاگ اور حوالہ جاتی کتابوں کو ہینڈل کریں۔

2. لائبریری کی مختلف سرگرمیوں کے ذریعے طلباء کی رہنمائی کرنا اور انہیں علم کے مختلف شعبوں میں دلچسپی پیدا کرنا۔

3. تدریسی عملے کی اعلیٰ تعلیم اور تحقیق میں مدد کرنا۔

4. طلباء اور اساتذہ کے لیے تفریحی پڑھنے کا بندوبست کرنا۔ اس کے نتیجے میں طلباء اور اساتذہ اپنا وقت ضائع نہیں کریں گے، وہ اپنی فرصت کو خود مطالعہ اور سیلف کلچر کے لیے استعمال کریں گے۔

لائبریری کا مقام:

لائبریری کلاس رومز کے حوالے سے مرکزی طور پر واقع ہونی چاہیے۔ یہ اتنا بڑا ہونا چاہیے کہ وہ اسکول کی ضروریات کو پورا کر سکے۔ لائبریری کے کمرے میں مناسب وینٹیلیشن کے لیے کھڑکیوں کے ساتھ مناسب قدرتی روشنی ہونی چاہیے۔ یہ “پرکشش، رنگین اور مدعو،” ہونا چاہیے

سکول لائبریری کے کام:

اسکول کی لائبریری کے کھلنے کے اوقات ہفتے کے پورے دورانیے میں ہونے چاہئیں، جہاں طلب ہو۔ اس میں کل وقتی لائبریرین ہونا چاہیے۔ جہاں ایک اسسٹنٹ ٹیچر انچارج ہو، وہ لائبریری کو باقاعدگی سے کھولے۔ تاہم، حکومت ہر سیکنڈری اسکول میں ایک تربیت یافتہ ٹائم لائبریرین کا تقرر کرنا چاہیے۔ اسکول کی لائبریری کو درج ذیل کام انجام دینا ہے:

1. لائبریری کو کارڈ، کیٹلاگ تیار کرنا چاہیے اور انہیں مناسب طریقے سے ترتیب دینا چاہیے۔

2. اسے طلباء کو راغب کرنے کے لیے لائبریری گرانٹ سے خریدی گئی نئی کتابوں کی نمائش کرنی چاہیے۔

3. اسے پڑھنے کا ایک سازگار ماحول پیدا کرنا چاہیے تاکہ طلبہ کو عام کتابیں پڑھنے کی ترغیب دی جا سکے۔

4. اسے رابطہ کے ذریعے بین ال لائبریری تعاون کو فروغ دینا چاہیے اور اسکول کی دیگر لائبریریوں کا دورہ کرنا چاہیے۔

5. اسے مفید سماجی تجربات فراہم کرنا چاہیے۔

6. اسے اسکول کی زندگی میں لائبریری کی اہمیت کو واضح کرنے کے لیے لیکچرز کا اہتمام کرکے ایک واقفیت کا پروگرام ترتیب دینا چاہیے۔

طلباء اپنی زندگی کا قیمتی چونا سکول میں ہی گزارتے ہیں۔ اس لیے اسکول میں ایک لائبریری ہونی چاہیے جس میں ایک مکمل لائبریرین ہو تاکہ سیکھنے کی حوصلہ افزائی ہو۔ آئیے ہم ایجوکیشن کمیشن (1964) کے الفاظ کے ساتھ اختتام کرتے ہیں کہ، “کتابوں کا مجموعہ، یہاں تک کہ اچھی کتابوں کا ذخیرہ بھی لائبریری نہیں بنتا۔

پرجوش اساتذہ جو کتابوں کے ساتھ لیچ کرتے ہیں اور لائبریرین جو لائبریری کو ایک فکری ورکشاپ میں تبدیل کرنے میں ان کے ساتھ تعاون کر سکتے ہیں، یہاں تک کہ حساس طور پر منتخب کتابوں کا ایک نسبتاً چھوٹا ذخیرہ بھی طلباء کی زندگی میں حیرت انگیز کام کر سکتا ہے۔ ایسے عملے کے ساتھ سب سے پرتعیش عمارت یا کتابوں کے وسیع ذخیرے کا کوئی اثر نہیں ہو سکتا۔ لہذا لائبریری کو ایک قابل لائبریرین کے ساتھ اسکول میں ایک فکری مرکز ہونا چاہیے۔

ہماری زندگیاں نئے واقعات سے بھری پڑی ہیں جن کا تجربہ ہم مختلف دنوں میں کرتے ہیں۔ اسی طرح پہلی بار سکول جانا بھی انسان کی زندگی میں یادگار واقعہ ہوتا ہے۔ کوئی انسان اپنا اسکول کا پہلا دن کیسے بھول سکتا ہے، اس دن کو یاد رکھنا فطری بات ہے، پھر وہ دن چاہے اچھا ہو یا برا۔ اسی لئے، مجھے بھی اسکول میں میرا پہلا دن آج تک یاد ہے۔

اسکول میں میرا پہلا دن میرے لیے بالکل ایک نیا تجربہ تھا۔ اس کی وجہ یہ ہے کہ ہر بچے کے لیے ماحول مکمل طور پر بدل جاتا ہے کیونکہ ایک بچے کو ایسا محسوس ہوتا ہے کہ گھر کا ماحول زیادہ آرام دہ ہے۔ تاہم، اسکول میں ہمارا پہلا دن کافی تجربات اور مواقع کا دروازہ کھولتا ہے۔

اپنے پہلے دن، میں پرجوش ہو کر نیند سے اٹھا اور پہلی بار میں نے اسکول کی وردی (Uniform) پہنی۔ اس وردی نے مجھے جو احساس دیا وہ بہت یادگار تھا، میں اسے کبھی نہیں بھول سکتا۔ چونکہ یہ میرا پہلا دن تھا، اسی لئے میرے والدین مجھے اسکول چھوڑنے گئے تھے۔

جب میں اپنے کمرہ جماعت (Classroom) میں داخل ہوا تو وہاں بھی میری طرح کے کچھ بچے موجود تھے جن میں سے چند رو رہے تھے اور کچھ کھیل رہے تھے۔ میں بھی اپنے استاد کی بتائی ہوئی جگہ پر جا کر بیٹھ گیا لیکن میں کافی پر پریشان تھا۔ آخر کار، میرے استاد نے مجھے تسلی دی۔

کچھ دیر گزرنے کے بعد میں نے دوسرے بچوں سے بات کی اور ان کے ساتھ کھیلنا شروع کر دیا۔ ہمارے پاس کھیلنے کے لیے بہت سے کھلونے تھے۔ جیسے جیسے وقت گزرتا گیا تو تمام بچے کافی خوش نظر آنے لگے۔

ایک بجے ہمیں اسکول سے چھٹی ہوگئی اور میرے والد مجھے اسکول سے گھر لے گئے۔ میری امی گھر کے دروازے پر میرا انتظار کر رہی تھیں۔ جب انہوں نے مجھے دیکھا تو وہ کافی خوش ہوئیں۔ میں نے اپنے والدین کو اسکول میں ہونے والی تمام باتیں بتائیں۔ وہ اسکول میں میرے پہلے دن کا سن کر بہت خوش ہوئے۔

نتیجہ (Conclusion)

میں نیشنل پبلک ہائی سکول دہلی کا طالب علم ہوں۔ ہر شخص کو اپنا گھر، اپنا محلہ، اپنا شہر اور اپنا دیش پیارا ہوتا ہے۔ اسی طرح ہر طالب علم کو اپنا سکول پیارا ہوتا ہے۔ مجھے بھی اپنے اسکول کے ساتھ خاص لگاؤ ہے۔

میں نے اپنے بچپن کے دس سال اس اسکول میں گزارے ہیں اس لئے مجھے اس اسکول کی ہر چیز سے عشق و محبت ہے۔ اس کی اینٹیں، اس کے درخت، پیڑ، پودے،دیواریں، کمرے، سب کے ساتھ مجھے بہت محبت ہے۔ مجھے یہ اسکول اپنے وجود کا ایک حصہ دکھائی دیتا ہے۔ اپنے اسکول کا ہر طالب علم اور چپڑاسی تک مجھے پیارا ہے۔ میں اس اسکول کے اسٹاف کا نہایت ہی احترام کرتا ہوں اور تمام اساتذہ مجھ پر مہربان ہیں۔

اس اسکول کے ٹیچر ہمیں اپنے بچوں کی طرح پڑھاتے ہیں۔ ہم میں سے ہر ایک کی طرف خاص دھیان دیتے ہیں۔ وہ ہمارے دکھ سکھ کے ساتھی ہیں۔نہایت ہی محنتی اور لائق ہیں۔ ہیڈ ماسٹر صاحب کو جب بھی دفتر کے وقت میں فرصت ملتی ہے تو وہ مطالعہ کرنے لگتے ہیں۔ان کے گھر اور آفس میں تو کتابوں کے ڈھیر لگے رہتے ہیں۔ آپ اتنے اچھے ہیں کہ جو کچھ بھی گھر میں رہ کر یا اسکول آ کر پڑھتے ہیں اس بارے دوسرے دن صبح کی اسمبلی میں سنا دیتے ہیں اس طرح سے ہماری واقفیت میں ہر روز اضافہ ہوتا رہتا ہے اور ہمیں نئی نئی باتوں کے بارے میں پتہ چلتا رہتا ہے۔

ہمارے استاد صاحبان بھی جو کچھ پڑھتے ہیں اس بارے میں کلاس میں اکثر بتا دیا کرتے ہیں۔ اس طرح زمانہ طالب علمی میں ہماری معلومات کافی وسیع ہوگئی ہیں اور ہم ہر موضوع کے بارے میں تھوڑا بہت ضرور جانتے ہیں۔ اگر یہ کہا جائے کہ ہمارے اسکول میں ویسی ہی پڑھائی ہوتی ہے جیسی ہونی چاہیے تو غلط نہ ہو گا کیونکہ تعلیم کا اصل مقصد بھی یہی ہے کہ طالب علم کے دماغ کی پرورش ہو اور وہ لگاتار ہو تی رہتی ہے۔

ہمارا سکول کافی پرانا ادارہ ہے شاید اس شہر کا سب سے پرانا سکول ہے۔اس کی عمارت کافی بڑی ہے۔ ایک کشادہ ہال ہے جس میں تین چار سو طالبعلم بیٹھ سکتے ہیں۔ ہمارے سالانہ امتحان اسی حال میں ہوتے ہیں۔ کبھی کبھار شہر والے کوئی اجلاس یہاں بلا لیتے ہیں۔ ہائی اسکول میں تیس چالیس کمرے ہیں یہ نہایت صاف ستھرے ہیں۔صبح صفائی کرنے والا انہیں صاف کرتا ہے اور پھر شام کے وقت جب اسکول میں چھٹی ہوجاتی ہے تو وہ دوبارہ صفائی کرتا ہے۔ اسکول کا چپراسی رامدین باری باری سارے کمروں میں میزوں پر پڑی ہوئی دھول جھاڑتا ہے۔ صبح کے وقت کمروں میں صفائی کرنے کے بعد معمولی چھڑکاؤ بھی کردیتا ہے۔ کبھی کبھی اسکول کا مالی اس کا ہاتھ بٹاتا ہے اور چپراسی چھٹی والے دن مالی کی ہر طرح سے مدد کرتا ہے۔

صفائی کے ساتھ ساتھ اس اسکول میں روشنی کا بھی معقول انتظام ہے۔ جب میں اس اسکول میں داخل ہوا تھا تو اس وقت کمروں میں پنکھے کم ہی تھے مگر اب ہر کمرے میں دو دو تین تین پنکھے لگے ہوئے ہیں۔ اسکول کی اپنی کینٹین بھی ہے جہاں چائے اور کھانے پینے کا سامان کافی سستے میں مل جاتا ہے۔اس کینٹین میں بھی صفائی کا خاص خیال رکھا جاتا ہے۔ ہیڈ ماسٹر صاحب ہر دوسرے تیسرے روز کینٹین اور کمروں کا معائنہ کرتے ہیں۔اسکول میں ایک سٹیشنری کی دکان ہے جہاں بازار کے مقابلے میں سبی پن اور کتابیں وغیرہ سستے دام میں مل جاتی ہیں۔

صفائی کے ساتھ ساتھ اسکول میں پڑھائی کے بہتر طریقے اپنائے جاتے ہیں۔پڑھائی کے وقت نالائق طلبہ کا خاص خیال رکھا جاتا ہے۔ فالتو ٹائم دے کر ان کی کمی دور کی جاتی ہے۔ ہر دو تین ماہ بعد والدین کو اپنے بچے کی پڑھائی اور اس کی ترقی وغیرہ کے بارے میں اطلاع دی جاتی ہے۔ اسکول میں ہر آخری اتوار کو والدین استاد کا اجلاس بلایا جاتا ہے اس طرح والدین اور استاد صاحبان کے تعلقات زیادہ گہرے ہوتے جاتے ہیں۔ اگر کوئی لڑکا غلط ہو یا پڑھائی میں کمزور ہو تو اس کے والدین سے صلاح کرکے اسے سدھارنے کی کوشش کی جاتی ہے۔ تعلیم کی طرف خاص دھیان دینے کی وجہ سے سکول کے نتائج دوسرے اسکولوں کے مقابلے میں نہایت ہی اعلی آتے ہیں۔ بہت سے طلباء ہر سال میرٹ لسٹ میں آتے ہیں۔

اس اسکول کے پڑھے ہوئے بہت سے طلباء اب بڑے بڑے عہدوں پر لگے ہوئے ہیں۔ کچھ ایک فوج میں بھی ہیں۔ ہمارے ھیڈماسٹرصاحب یہ کوشش کرتے ہیں کہ اسکول کے اولڈ بوائز سال میں ایک مرتبہ ضرور اکھٹے ہوا کریں۔ ایسا عام طور پر دیوالی یا عید کے دنوں میں کیا جاتا ہے۔ 15اگست اور 26 جنوری کے روز بھی اسکول کا سٹاف کوشش کرتا ہے کہ جھنڈا لہرانے کی رسم کو کوئی پرانا طالب علم ہی ادا کرے۔ہر سال سکول سٹاف ایسا کرنے میں کامیاب ہو جاتا ہے۔پھر اس کا چرچا کہیں دنوں تک ہوتا رہتا ہے۔ ہر تقریب سے پہلے اس اسکول کے طالبعلم خوب تیاری کرتے ہیں۔ کمروں کو سجایا جاتا ہے۔ ہال میں رنگ برنگی جھنڈیاں لگائی جاتی ہیں۔ دیواروں، درختوں اور کیاریوں کے ساتھ چونا لگایا جاتا ہے۔ تقریب والے دن تو خوب ہی رونق ھوتی ھے۔

اس اسکول کی لائبریری بھی کافی مشہور ہے۔ یہاں اردو-ہندی-انگریزی- پنجابی وغیرہ کی بہت سی کتابیں موجود ہیں۔ بچوں کے بہت سے رسائل بھی آتے ہیں۔ تین چار اخبارات بھی ہر روز خریدی جاتی ہیں۔ ہر طالب علم کو کہا گیا ہے کہ وہ ہفتہ میں ایک کتاب لائبریری سے لے کر ضرور پڑھے۔ لائبریری کلرک ہر وقت وہاں موجود ہوتا ہے اور جب بھی کوئی طالبعلم کتاب لینے یا بدلنے کے لیے جاتا ہے تو وہ خندہ پیشانی سے پیش آتا ہے اور اسے اس کے ذوق کے مطابق اچھی سی کتاب دیتا ہے۔

میں تو خدا کے آگے یہی دعا کروں گا کہ یہ اسکول سدا سلامت رہے۔ ہمارے ہر استاد کی عمر دراز ہو اور اس اسکول کے طالب علم زندگی میں ترقی کرکے اپنے والدین اور اس اسکول کا نام روشن کریں۔ آمین۔
