Carefully crafted teaching presentation with everything you need to teach this small step of White Rose Maths Year 4 Spring Block 1 Multiplication and Division. This presentation follows the mastery approach of concrete, pictorial and abstract, whilst implementing all aspects of Rosenshine’s principles of instruction.

Children can use factor pairs in year 4 to make multiplication calculations easier to solve. For example, to calculate the answer to 15 × 8, children could use the pair of factors 3 and 5 (of 15), making the calculation 8 × 5 × 3 = 120.
