100 ans après les JO parisiens, les Jeux d’été reviennent enfin faire vibrer la ville et tout le pays.

De la Seine au Stade de France, du 26 juillet au 11 août 2024, Paris sera le plus grand terrain de sport du monde, et France Télévisions le plus grand média de cet évènement historique mais dès le 24 juillet, des matchs de football et de rugby à 7 auront lieu avant la cérémonie d’ouverture.

10500 athlètes seront au rendez-vous pour disputer les 329 épreuves olympiques réparties sur 40 sites à travers le pays, où près de 10 millions de spectateurs sont attendus. 

Et vous, vous ferez certainement partie des 4 milliards de téléspectateurs pour suivre ces 2 évènements.

Où seront les sites des Jeux Olympiques de Paris 2024 ?

Paris sera la ville qui accueillera le plus de compétitions intra-muros mais d'autres villes vont également héberger certaines épreuves. En France métropolitaine, le football sera joué aussi dans 6 localités (Marseille, Lyon, Saint-Etienne, Bordeaux, Nantes et Nice). D'autres disciplines seront délocalisées : il y aura aussi Châteauroux (tir), Colombes (hockey-sur-gazon), Elancourt (VTT), Lille (handball, basket), Le Bourget (escalade), Marseille (voile), Nanterre (natation et waterpolo à Paris La Défense Arena), Saint-Denis (athlétisme et rugby à 7 au Stade de France, plongeon/natation artistique et waterpolo au centre aquatique), Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (BMX, cyclisme sur piste, golf), Vaires-sur-Marne (aviron, canoë-kayak), Versailles (équitation, pentathlon moderne) et Villepinte (boxe, pentathlon moderne). Enfin l'outremer n'a pas été oublié avec les épreuves de surf sur l'île de Tahiti (site de Teahupo'o).

Quand commencent les JO 2024 ?

Les dates officielles vont du vendredi 26 juillet (date de la cérémonie d'ouverture) au dimanche 11 août (date de la cérémonie de clôture). Mais certaines disciplines (rugby à 7 et football) démarreront dès le mercredi 24 juillet.

Pourquoi Paris a été choisi pour les JO de 2024 ?

Paris s'est vu accorder les Jeux Olympiques célébrant les Jeux de la XXXIIIè olympiade le 13 septembre 2017 lors de la 131ème session du CIO à Lima (Pérou). Ce même jour, le CIO a aussi attribué à Los Angeles les JO de 2028. Initialement, en plus de ces 2 villes, Hambourg, Rome et Budapest s'étaient portées candidates pour les JO de 2024 mais elles ont renoncé avant la session de Lima.

Combien de sports au programme des JO 2024 ?

28 sports figurent au programme. Auxquels se rajoutent 4 sports additionnels (breaking, escalade, skateboard, surf).

Combien d'athlètes participeront aux JO 2024 ?

Le CIO et le COJO Paris 2024 ont pour ambition de ne pas dépasser le nombre de 10 500 sportifs et de respecter le plus possible la parité hommes-femmes.

Lors des derniers JO à Tokyo (juillet-août 2021), 206 CNO (Comités nationaux olympiques) avaient été représentés. Traditionnellement, le Président du CIO lance le processus d'invitation des CNO aux prochains JO exactement un an avant la cérémonie d'ouverture. Ce sera donc le 26 juillet 2023.

Où seront les sites des Jeux Paralympiques de Paris 2024 ?

1. Start with a bold statement

A bold statement can capture your audience’s attention right from the get-go. Your statement should offer something slightly unusual and maybe even a little controversial. Something to make people sit up and take notice.

2. Tell a story

One of the best ways to get your audience’s attention is to tell a story – it’ll hit them right in the feels.

A personal, human story works because it the audience can relate to it on a personal level. Think about some stand-out examples of human stories that relate to your business or idea, and tell that story so people will connect with the central character. The bigger the emotion the better: love, longing, overcoming obstacles, things we’ve all had to deal with at some point in our lives.

Think about the  ‘story arc’  – how will you frame your message so the audience immediately empathizes?

If you’re selling trainers, perhaps you’ll talk about someone who’s training for a marathon. If you’re lobbying for women’s rights, perhaps you’ll tell a story of when a passing comment affected you deeply. Maybe you should think back to the decision that started your business, and start your presentation with that.

3. Use music

Music has great power to support and enhance the emotion in a video presentation, and has been proven to sustain an audience’s attention and aid in information retention. Music is used in movies to suggest an emotional state to the viewer, so why not in a video presentation?

Modern, up-tempo music will snap people to attention at the right moment, while slow, minor-key sounds relax the brain, which is useful for reviewing content so it can slip more easily into long-term memory.

4. Visual metaphor

Research has shown that combining pictures and text is one of the best ways to help people engage with and retain information. There’s something about how our brain works that makes text by itself far less memorable, so if you can combine something visual with your message, you’ll keep people’s attention longer and they’ll remember more of your presentation.

Talking to a group of people about taking action on something that scares them? A picture of someone diving or bungee jumping could work. Telling your boss how important that company retreat is next year? Show them an image of happy, relaxed people with their toes in the sand.

It doesn’t have to be obvious and clichéd, either. Closed doors, wide open roads, and lighting a candle all have subconscious messages that you don’t really need to explain. (Whatever you do, just don’t use the ultimate cliche: the overused  ‘water ripple’ .)

5. Use questions

Questions can be a great way to open a presentation, because they encourage the audience to think for themselves. It opens them up to a realm of critical thinking, which is perfect when you’re gonna sock it to them with your impactful message.

‘Did you know 15 billion trees are cut down each year?’

‘Have you ever considered what life would be like if you didn’t have to save money?’

The art of asking questions in a presentation means you can incorporate them into your video as a great lead-in. Combined with some appropriate music, it can really get your audience thinking about the issue, and then you’ll go on to explain exactly what your solution is.

Having a laugh can really do a lot to win over an audience. There’s no need to be too serious, and even if you’re dealing with a heavy topic, lightening the mood can work wonders.

Whether you’re looking to create a funny sales video, an event presentation, or a presentation for an interview — one thing’s for sure, you can’t go wrong by including humor.

7. Repetition

Simple. Effective. Powerful.

Repetition can be used in several ways: by offering several one-word sentences in a row (the repetition is in the rhythm), or by repeating a word or a key phrase several time throughout your presentation.

In his famous Stanford speech in 2005, for example, Steve Jobs concluded by saying  “Stay hungry. Stay foolish.”

Repetition is powerful. It drives home your key message and strengthens your position.

8. Motion Graphics

Motion graphics  are basically animation with text as a major component, and is a staple of what we do at Biteable.

When you use moving graphics in a presentation, it instantly captures attention. If your audience is just taking their seats, or are halfway through hearing your story, there’s no doubt they’ll sit up and take notice if you introduce some cool motion graphics, like this Meeting Tips example.

Although they can sometimes feel clichéd, quotes are a great way to impart a message in a presentation. Want your audience to understand something complex? A quote from Einstein should do it. Or would you like to say something meaningful and poetic? A couple of lines of Shakespeare should convey some wisdom.

10. Audio narration

Narration can give a different mood to your presentation, especially if the voice is powerful and the words are heartfelt. Use it to change the tone or pace of your presentation and it will certainly keep your audience hooked if there’s a danger of them losing interest.

11. Go bright with color

Color can have a huge effect on how your video comes across. Don’t be afraid to experiment. The contrasts of black and white can be extremely effective, but you can also grab people’s attention with some carefully-chosen primary and secondary colors, like in our Motion Graphics template.

12. Use illustrations

Illustrations are a great way to communicate information, especially if you’ve got lots to say. Whether you want to create a crowd of people or a cool depiction of some new fancy gadget, illustrations can draw the eye and make your presentation more interesting.

13. Infographics

When you utilize infographics, you can pack in a huge amount of data and information without confusing your audience. Think pie charts, digital numbers, and ascending animated graphs. These can show your audience boring data in an exciting way.

14. Create interesting transitions

15. Make it look cinematic

Adding a cinematic touch can help your audience feel receptive to your message because subconsciously, they will associate these elements with being at the cinema, eating popcorn, and generally having a good time.

16. Go retro

A cool, retro look for your presentation will make it hard to ignore. By going retro, you add a little bit of cheeky style to your message. You don’t need to go  quite as retro as the template below, but taking a step back in time is a sure way to add a little bit of zing to things.

17. End on a meaningful note

Your presentation will only give your audience a lasting impression if you end it right.

It’s important to let the audience know what you want them to do next: to visit a website for more information, to ponder an idea or new direction, or to take action toward a particular goal.

An attention-grabbing visual will work really well here, along with a meaningful end to the music – a change of pace, volume, or pitch.

What’s the takeaway message? A strong CTA (call to action) will ensure your presentation is memorable and much more likely to be talked about.

Pour cette période estivale et après le football et le Tour de France , je propose de faire découvrir à vos enfants, les Jeux olympiques ou JO. Tous les quatre ans, les Jeux rythment nos étés ou nos hivers et célèbrent le sport et la collaboration entre les pays.

Depuis l’antiquité, en passant par Pierre de Coubertin, je vous propose de découvrir ou redécouvrir cette compétition internationale qui voit des athlètes de tout sport s’affronter pendant 3 semaines afin de décrocher le graal : la médaille d’or.

Les Jeux olympiques sont une épreuve passionnante pour vos enfants, qui créera peut-être des vocations pour certains d’entre eux, et qui leur fera découvrir les valeurs du sport, de la solidarité et de la compétition sportive.

Les Jeux olympiques que l’on appelle aussi JO sont une grande rencontre sportive entre des pays du monde entier.

Les Jeux olympiques existent depuis l’antiquité

Les Jeux olympiques existaient déjà depuis l’antiquité à cette époque en Grèce les hommes s’affrontaient dans plusieurs disciplines, la course, le lancer de javelot ou de disques, le saut en longueur, des sports de combat et le pentathlon.

Depuis 1896, Pierre de Coubertin a réinventé ces Jeux olympiques.

Les sports olympiques

C’est toujours une rencontre sportive, mais il y a beaucoup plus de sports que les Jeux olympiques antiques, de l’athlétisme, de la boxe, du bmx,

mais aussi de l’escrime, du football, du golf, de l’équitation, du trampoline, du plongeon. Houlala, mais il y en a beaucoup.

Oui et ça ne s’arrête pas là, il y a beaucoup de disciplines et beaucoup d’épreuves. En plus, il y a des sports qui peuvent disparaître des Jeux olympiques, mais aussi revenir comme le baseball.

C’est le CIO, le comité international olympique qui choisit les sports qui sont aux Jeux olympiques.

Les récompenses aux Jeux olympiques

Pour chaque épreuve, il y a un podium où se mettent les premier, deuxième et troisième.

Il y a une médaille d’or pour les premiers athlètes, l’argent pour les 2e et le bronze pour les 3e.

Il y a des sportifs français qui ont gagné beaucoup de médailles, comme Martin Fourcade en biathlon qui a eu 7  médailles.

Le drapeau olympique

Il y a un drapeau qui représente les Jeux olympiques avec cinq anneaux de couleurs, et ils représentent cinq parties du monde et les couleurs des drapeaux des pays qui participent. Les Jeux olympiques se déroulent tous les quatre ans dans un pays différent.

Les pays sont candidats pour accueillir les Jeux olympiques et ensuite le pays est choisi par le CIO. Ça coûte très cher d’organiser les Jeux olympiques, car il faut avoir toutes les infrastructures les stades, les piscines et les salles pour accueillir les athlètes et les spectateurs. 

Avant de démarrer les JO, une torche est allumée et ramenée au stade pour marquer le début de la compétition. La flamme olympique est le symbole des Jeux olympiques.

Les Jeux Olympiques d’Hiver

Ces JO dont je te parle s’appellent les Jeux olympiques d’été, mais il y a aussi des Jeux olympiques d’hiver qui ont aussi lieu tous les quatre ans, mais uniquement avec des sports d’hiver comme le ski, le bobsleigh, le hockey, etc.

Après les Jeux olympiques d’été, il y a aussi les jeux paralympiques où ne participent que les athlètes qui sont en situation de handicap.

Pour participer, il faut être un champion dans sa discipline et pour cela et bien il faut beaucoup s’entraîner.

L’important c’est de participer

Oh là, je n’ai même pas gagné cette course. Eh bien je vais te dire une phrase que l’on attribue souvent à Pierre de Coubertin, « L’important est de participer. » Yahoo, j’ai participé. Exact, allez c’est parti pour aller encourager les athlètes.

With Copilot in PowerPoint, you can create a presentation from an existing Word document. Point Copilot in PowerPoint to your Word document, and it will generate slides, apply layouts, create speaker notes, and choose a theme for you.

Select the Word document you want from the picker that appears. If you don't see the document you want, start typing any part of the filename to search for it.

Note:  If the file picker doesn't appear type a front slash (/) to cause it to pop up.

Best practices when creating a presentation from a Word document

Leverage word styles to help copilot understand the structure of your document.

By using Styles in Word to organize your document, Copilot will better understand your document structure and how to break it up into slides of a presentation. Structure your content under Titles and Headers when appropriate and Copilot will do its best to generate a presentation for you.

Include images that are relevant to your presentation

When creating a presentation, Copilot will try to incorporate the images in your Word document. If you have images that you would like to be brought over to your presentation, be sure to include them in your Word document.

Start with your organization’s template

We've all been to a presentation where the speaker bores you to death with a mundane PowerPoint presentation. Actually, the speaker could have kept you much more engaged by adding some interactive features to their slideshow. Let's look into some of these options.

1. Add a QR code

Adding a QR code can be particularly useful if you want to direct your audience to an online form, website, or video.

Some websites have in-built ways to create a QR code. For example, on Microsoft Forms , when you click "Collect Responses," you'll see the QR code option via the icon highlighted in the screenshot below. You can either right-click the QR code to copy and paste it into your presentation, or click "Download" to add it to your device gallery to insert the QR code as a picture.

In fact, you can easily add a QR code to take your viewer to any website. On Microsoft Edge, right-click anywhere on a web page where there isn't already a link, and left-click "Create QR Code For This Page."

You can also create QR codes in other browsers, such as Chrome.

You can then copy or download the QR code to use wherever you like in your presentation.

2. Embed Microsoft Forms (Education or Business Only)

If you plan to send your PPT presentation to others—for example, if you're a trainer sending step-by-step instruction presentation, a teacher sending an independent learning task to your students, or a campaigner for your local councilor sending a persuasive PPT to constituents—you might want to embed a quiz, questionnaire, pole, or feedback survey in your presentation.

In PowerPoint, open the "Insert" tab on the ribbon, and in the Forms group, click "Forms". If you cannot see this option, you can add new buttons to the ribbon .

As at April 2024, this feature is only available for those using their work or school account. We're using a Microsoft 365 Personal account in the screenshot below, which is why the Forms icon is grayed out.

Then, a sidebar will appear on the right-hand side of your screen, where you can either choose a form you have already created or opt to craft a new form.

Now, you can share your PPT presentation with others , who can click the fields and submit their responses when they view the presentation.

3. Embed a Live Web Page

You could always screenshot a web page and paste that into your PPT, but that's not a very interactive addition to your presentation. Instead, you can embed a live web page into your PPT so that people with access to your presentation can interact actively with its contents.

To do this, we will need to add an add-in to our PPT account .

Add-ins are not always reliable or secure. Before installing an add-in to your Microsoft account, check that the author is a reputable company, and type the add-in's name into a search engine to read reviews and other users' experiences.

To embed a web page, add the Web Viewer add-in ( this is an add-in created by Microsoft ).

Go to the relevant slide and open the Web Viewer add-in. Then, copy and paste the secure URL into the field box, and remove https:// from the start of the address. In our example, we will add a selector wheel to our slide. Click "Preview" to see a sample of the web page's appearance in your presentation.

This is how ours will look.

When you or someone with access to your presentation views the slideshow, this web page will be live and interactive.

4. Add Links and Menus

As well as moving from one slide to the next through a keyboard action or mouse click, you can create links within your presentation to direct the audience to specific locations.

To create a link, right-click the outline of the clickable object, and click "Link."

In the Insert Hyperlink dialog box, click "Place In This Document," choose the landing destination, and click "OK."

What's more, to make it clear that an object is clickable, you can use action buttons. Open the "Insert" tab on the ribbon, click "Shape," and then choose an appropriate action button. Usefully, PPT will automatically prompt you to add a link to these shapes.

You might also want a menu that displays on every slide. Once you have created the menu, add the links using the method outlined above. Then, select all the items, press Ctrl+C (copy), and then use Ctrl+V to paste them in your other slides.

5. Add Clickable Images to Give More Info

Through PowerPoint's animations, you can give your viewer the power to choose what they see and when they see it. This works nicely whether you're planning to send your presentation to others to run through independently or whether you're presenting in front of a group and want your audience to decide which action they want to take.

Start by creating the objects that will be clickable (trigger) and the items that will appear (pop-up).

Then, select all the pop-ups together. When you click "Animations" on the ribbon and choose an appropriate animation for the effect you want to achieve, this will be applied to all objects you have selected.

The next step is to rename the triggers in your presentation. To do this, open the "Home" tab, and in the Editing group, click "Select", and then "Selection Pane."

With the Selection Pane open, select each trigger on your slide individually, and rename them in the Selection Pane, so that they can be easily linked to in the next step.

Finally, go back to the first pop-up. Open the "Animations" tab, and in the Advanced Animation group, click the "Trigger" drop-down arrow. Then, you can set the item to appear when a trigger is clicked in your presentation.

If you want your item to disappear when the trigger is clicked again, select the pop-up, click "Add Animation" in the Advanced Animation group, choose an Exit animation, and follow the same step to link that animation to the trigger button.

6. Add a Countdown Timer

A great way to get your audience to engage with your PPT presentation is to keep them on edge by adding a countdown timer. Whether you're leading a presentation and want to let your audience stop to discuss a topic, or running an online quiz with time-limit questions, having a countdown timer means your audience will keep their eye on your slide throughout.

To do this, you need to animate text boxes or shapes containing your countdown numbers. Choose and format a shape and type the highest number that your countdown clock will need. In our case, we're creating a 10-second timer.

Now, with your shape selected, open the "Animations" tab on the ribbon and click the animation drop-down arrow. Then, in the Exit menu, click "Disappear."

Open the Animation Pane, and click the drop-down arrow next to the animation you've just added. From there, choose "Timing."

Make sure "On Click" is selected in the Start menu, and change the Delay option to "1 second," before clicking "OK."

Then, with this shape still selected, press Ctrl+C (copy), and then Ctrl+V (paste). In the second box, type 9 . With the Animation Pane still open and this second shape selected, click the drop-down arrow and choose "Timing" again. Change the Start option to "After Previous," and make sure the Delay option is 1 second. Then, click "OK."

We can now use this second shape as our template, as when we copy and paste it again, the animations will also duplicate. With this second shape selected, press Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V, type 8 into the box, and continue to do the same until you get to 0 .

Next, remove the animations from the "0" box, as you don't want this to disappear. To do this, click the shape, and in the Animation Pane drop-down, click "Remove."

You now need to layer them in order. Right-click the box containing number 1, and click "Bring To Front." You will now see that box on the top. Do the same with the other numbers in ascending order.

Finally, you need to align the objects together. Click anywhere on your slide and press Ctrl+A. Then, in the Home tab on the ribbon, click "Arrange." First click "Align Center," and then bring the menu up again, so that you can click "Align Middle."

Press Ctrl+A again to select your timer, and you can then move your timer or copy and paste it elsewhere.

Press F5 to see the presentation in action, and when you get to the slide containing the timer, click anywhere on the slide to see your countdown timer in action!

Now that your PPT presentation is more interactive, make sure you've avoided these eight common presentational mistakes before you present your slides.

Trump, Biden spar over whether Trump's 30-second pause was intentional or a 'glitch'

Former President Donald Trump suddenly stopped talking for more than 30 seconds during a speech at the National Rifle Association’s annual meeting in Dallas, Texas over the weekend, leading the Biden campaign to capitalize on the speculation about whether his Republican opponent is fit for office.

The presumptive Republican presidential nominee addressed gun owners after receiving the association’s endorsement, stoking fears of the Biden administration “coming for your guns.” Trump’s critics were quick to attack him, saying he froze during his speech and is unfit for office. His supporters said he paused for dramatic effect.

The campaigns’ sparring was the latest in a back-and-forth about both candidates’ ages and mental competency . Biden is 81 and Trump is 77.

Biden supporters say Trump “glitched”

The Biden-Harris HQ account on X, formerly Twitter, posted a 44-second clip showcasing Trump’s more than 30-second pause, criticizing his speech as “bizarre” and “slur-filled.”

An account called “Biden’s Wins,” with more than 362,000 followers, reposted the video saying, “Donald Trump just glitched out and froze at his rally tonight. He is clearly unfit for office. Retweet so every American knows Trump is senile.”

The Biden-Harris HQ account attacked Trump’s entire address, alleging the dramatic music playing in the background during Trump’s pause is a song favored by QAnon .

The Biden-Harris campaign’s post-Saturday was the second time it appeared to attack Trump’s competency over the weekend. On Friday, the account called Trump “feeble” after his podium shifted when he leaned on it at an event in St. Paul, Minnesota .

Trump says glitch story is “made up”

Social media users speculated Trump’s pause was due to a problem with his teleprompter, but Trump said that was not the case.

Trump said that the 30-second “period of silence” is a standard part of his speeches and that the Biden-Harris campaign was to blame for the “fake story” that he froze in a post on Truth Social .

“The reason they came up with this Disinformation is that Biden freezes all the time, can’t put two sentences together, and can rarely find his way off the stage without help,” Trump wrote. “Donald Trump doesn’t freeze!”

During his address Saturday, Trump promised to undo gun regulations passed during the Biden administration.

“In my second term, we will roll back every Biden attack on the Second Amendment,” Trump said. “Starting the minute that crooked Joe shuffles his way out of the White House.”
