Preparation

This module introduced group and team dynamics, including a number of common team behaviors and characteristics of effective teams. This exercise is an opportunity to reflect on the learning and how you would put it into practice.

Assume that you will be participating in a leadership competition at work. You and 3 of your senior management colleagues will be randomly assigned 7 staff from across multiple offices. Teams will be sequestered at separate sites. Each team will have equal access to information and resources and will receive the same project assignment. The team that completes the task with the highest level of quality and cost efficiency will be awarded bonuses, 20 hours of paid professional training and development time and the opportunity to choose their next project.

Distill what you learned into bullet points for your reference as team leader and compile a two paragraph briefing for your team on how to be successful as individual contributors and as a team.
