Inside Another Gift

  • A jewelry box : Your significant other’s new piece of jewelry needs a permanent storage spot to stay safe and clean when they’re not wearing it. Buy a pretty wooden jewelry box as the outer gift. Tuck the jewelry inside the jewelry box, with or without the packaging from the jewelry store.
  • A stuffed animal : If your significant other thinks stuffed animals are adorable, get them a new one to serve as the larger gift for the jewelry presentation. Tuck the box with the jewelry inside on the stuffed animal’s lap for the grand reveal. Another approach is to place the jewelry on the stuffed animal so it looks like the animal is wearing it.
  • A box of chocolates: Jewelry and chocolates make a classic combination. If the lucky recipient loves chocolates, buy a big box of chocolates. Remove a few of the chocolate candies to make room for the jewelry. Put the jewelry in the spot, and close the box so it looks like new. When your sweetheart goes to choose their favorite chocolate, they’ll get an even sweeter surprise.
  • A decorative jar: Nestle the jewelry inside a decorative opaque jar with a lid. Once your recipient opens the gift, they can place the jar on a shelf. Each time they see the jar, they’ll remember your thoughtful gift.
  • A plant: Brighten your spouse’s day with a bouquet of flowers or a beautiful houseplant. Make that plant even more attractive with the piece of jewelry tucked down into it. Nestle the entire box down between the stems of the plant or hang the jewelry itself around a stem. If you do go this route, it’s a good idea to tie the jewelry to the stem with ribbon so it doesn’t get lost.
  • A handbag: Any woman can use an extra purse in her accessories collection. Buy your significant other a new purse, and leave the jewelry inside the gift. When she checks out all of the pockets and other features of the purse, she stumbles across the jewelry. You get bonus points if the jewelry coordinates with the handbag you choose.
  • A gift you know they’ll love: This presentation option is very flexible. Think of gifts you know the recipient would like. Is there one that would work well for hiding jewelry inside for the gift presentation?

Creative Wrapping Ideas

  • A map of your favorite place: Use a paper map of a special place as the wrapping paper. Ideas include your favorite trip together, a city you used to live in, the place where you met or the location of your honeymoon. Circle spots on the map where you shared a special moment.
  • Fabric: Instead of thin paper, use fabric to wrap the gift box. Choose something functional, such as a kitchen towel or cloth napkin with a fun pattern, so the wrapping can be used afterward. An easy way to wrap the gift in a piece of square fabric is to position the gift in the middle. Tie opposite corners together on top of the box. Repeat the process, tying the remaining two corners in a single knot. Bring the two corners from the first knot back to the top, and tie them a second time to keep the knots secure.
  • Take-out box: Craft and gift stores sell take-out style boxes designed for gift giving. These boxes come in a variety of colors and patterns.
  • Chalkboard look: Start with a roll of black paper. Wrap the gift like normal. Use a white paint pen to draw images on the black paper to look like a chalkboard design that won’t wipe off like regular chalk. This is an easy way to customize the wrapping paper. You can even give hints to the contents of the package with the decorations you draw.
  • Hand decorated box: A plain white gift box creates the perfect palette for a custom design. Use stamps, stickers or decorative washi tape to create designs on the box. Doodle little images or special messages with colored markers. Glue pompoms, bows or confetti onto the box for three-dimensional decorations. For a simple option, get a wide roll of colorful tape. Stick the tape around the box to look like a ribbon. This option takes little effort but makes a big impact.
  • Calendar pages: Old calendars provide colorful images, making them a suitable alternative to traditional wrapping paper. Save last year’s calendar and wrap jewelry and other gifts in it for a thick, heavy wrapping.

That's why unique gift wrapping ideas for jewelry are worth exploring; they can make all the difference when giving away a necklace, bracelet or even earrings. With some creative thinking, you can find ways to personalize your gift that will definitely surprise and delight.

One option for presenting jewelry gifts is by using custom designed packaging that suits the recipient and form of jewelry perfectly. Unusual and Unique Jewelry Gift Wrapping Ideas

If you're looking for a fun and creative way to wrap your jewelry gifts, try one of these unique ideas. You'll be sure to make the recipient feel extra special. Here's a look at some clever ways to go about wrapping that sparkly jewelry:

  • Mason Jars. Ideal for necklaces and pendants, you can turn an ordinary mason jar into a glamorous presentation for a ring or necklace with some colored tissue paper and ribbon.
  • Organza pouch. Another great idea is to use an organza pouch, which adds texture and a special touch. To give it more of an upscale look, add satin ribbons or decorations.
  • Slice of wood. All you need for this idea is a small slice of wood, such as pine or oak, and screws or nails (depending on how heavy the piece is). Drill the holes into the wood before slipping the jewelry through them.

If you're searching for something truly one-of-a-kind, why not use an old watch box or pocket watch? You can get creative with decorating it to fit your gift giver's personal style. Then just slip the jewelry inside and wrap it up in festive paper.

Embroidery hoop If you want to add some whimsy to the presentation of your jewelry gift, cover the embroidery hoop with fabric or paper-or adorn it with vintage lace-to create a stunning display. Be sure to use long ribbons so that you can hang it by its handles.

Lace doily This is a simple but beautiful way to wrap necklaces and pendants: Just spread out a delicate lace doily on top of light colored wrapping paper (or any scrapbook papers), and place your gift at the center before gathering up each corner in small bunches. Secure them together in the middle with twine.

Repurposed Gift Wrapping Materials

One of the most overlooked aspects of giving jewelry as gifts is the presentation. By sprucing up the packaging, you can make your gift even more special. Here are some unique ideas for gift wrapping jewelry that don't require elaborate materials:

  • Reusing newspapers and magazines by cutting out interesting pictures or headlines and using those as decoration;
  • Upcycling old fabric scraps from a sewing project and tying the item around the box;
  • Cutting shapes into cardboard boxes to create unique artwork on the outside for a playful wrapping job.

The real goal with upcyling is finding small and creative ways to take everyday items and turn them into extraordinary pieces. For example, if you have completely used up all of your bubble wrap, don't just toss it out – recycle it by shredding it into small pieces and use those as charming packing material inside of a jewelry box.

This way, you're not only keeping waste out of landfills but distracting from the presentation itself with an eye-catching display.

Before heading off to buy gift wrap supplies for your next gifts, why not try repurposing something that already exists in your home? Think creatively outside your current mindset and see what new things you can come up with. With a little bit of patience and dedication, there are so many possibilities. You might be surprised how much fun you can have turning empty bottles, tissue paper boxes, old sheets or scrap fabric into stunning masterpieces.

It doesn't have to be complicated either: sifting through photo albums becomes an opportunity to pick some sentimental moments in life that could add sparkle to a piece of jewelry; tiny envelopes made out of scraps are versatile enough to hold earrings or any other smaller items; plantable seed paper leaves no trace except smiles on loved ones' faces.

Creative Wrapping Techniques

When it comes to gift-giving, wrapping presents is a vital part of the process. It's not just about creating a box or paper with some balloons; it is also important to consider wrapping ideas that are special and creative. This article will explore some unique methods for wrapping jewelry gifts, perfect for occasions like anniversaries, engagements, and birthdays.

One way to create an eye-catching gift wrap is by utilizing colorful papers and ribbons. You can choose patterns such as polka dots, glitter stripes, or color block designs, to add sparkle and texture when wrapping your jewelry. Alternatively, you can pick specialized foils that come in a range of tints. One example of this would be holographic foil wraps which give off an iridescent quality.

Wrapping boxes are quite popular for presenting jewelry to its recipient but if you want something more original, try using cardboard tubes as well. Not only are they convenient but also appealing since they offer extra space for decorations such as tinsel strings or decorative accents. Additionally, you could even store multiple pieces – necklaces, earrings – all together in one container.

  • Choose colorful papers and ribbons with different patterns such as polka dots or glitter stripes
  • Specialized foils like holographic foils create an iridescent quality
  • Cardboard tubes provide extra space for decorations like tinsel strings printed tissues
  • Utilize decorative accents like charms (or origami) to give your present an extra detail
  • Create your own custom look with printable tags showing what type of Jewelry it is

Embellishing with Ribbons and Bows

When it comes to gift wrapping a piece of jewelry, incorporating some ribbons and bows is always a great way to bring out the beauty of a timeless piece. Not only do ribbons and bows give the gift wrap a unique personal touch, they can easily be removed after for future use. Ribbon can also be used to “frame” the jeweled item or simply act as an subtle accent.

Using Ribbons

For those who are feeling creative, ribbons are certainly a fun addition to add across or around the edge of wrapped jewelry boxes. Color is key here – you want to use colors that represent the person receiving the gift and their personality.

Consider coordinating with other elements already used in your gift wrap such as tissue paper or pattern paper. Once you have chosen your ribbon color you can create several patterns depending on what type of ribbon you chose – satin, grosgrain, velvet, etc., For example if using curly ribbon try looping it around several times in one designated area making sure to secure tightly with tape before adding any bows that will compliment it like pull-bouquet bows.

To finish off your beautiful gift presentation why not add an ornamental bow? Sure you can just tie it like you would an ordinary bow – but that's too common when it comes to wrapping gifts. For something more dramatic opt for single loop bows enhanced by long curling loops at each end creating an aura of royalty around your beautifully presented jewelry box.

Eye catching pullbows offer vibrant colors and fullness and poly deco mesh bows feature bright metallic strands surrounded by ultra thick loops for festive decorations. Either work well when tying special packages especially if gifting high-end items such as fashion jewelry and watches that need some extra flair when wrapping them up.

Other Jewelry Wrapping Tricks

Adding charms or trinkets to your ribbon is another way to make decorating unique gifts quicker; Attach basic everyday items including beads, charms, feathers or even old earrings (if gifted properly) securly tied onto sparkly ribbon will make wonderful additions – giving these inexpensive probably overlooked items new life while jazzing up your package wrapping at the same time.

Personalized Jewellery Wrapping

Gifting jewelry to friends and family is a special way to show your love and appreciation. But why not take it one step further by making the wrapping of the gift as meaningful as the jewelry itself? Personalizing jewelry wrapping adds an extra layer of thoughtfulness, elevating your gesture from a simple token of esteem to something truly memorable. Here are some ideas to get you started featuring handmade elements you can easily create at home.

1 – Wrapping Paper That's Personal To The Receiver

Choose a unique print that resonates with the receiver – is there a special image representing their favorite hobby or interest? Why not frame this in lovely luxurious wrapping paper for the perfect touch? To make this all-the-more personal, you could even draw and paint colorful pictures around the gift wrap, which they can keep and reuse.

2 – Take It One Step Further With Custom Packaging

You could go further by personalizing more than just the wrapping paper – why not create custom packaging for the jewellery too? Cardboard boxes get any job done but if you're feeling crafty consider specialty items like faux marble tins or stone adorned trinket dishes with velvet backing – these gorgeous duo-tone container set also make for amazing display cases once opened.

3 – Special Decorative Embellishments

Some of the most beautiful pieces are those adorned with delicate decorative embellishments. Whether it's ribbon, lace or fabric scraps – these complementary add on pieces give an overall sense of cohesiveness when delivering your thoughts in a box. You can have fun experimenting with vibrant colours and textures such as buttons, twine or sequins being sure to leave room for textural tension by including small wooden spools or upcycled scraps of metal wiring.

Fun Accessories for Colorful Wrapping

We all know how important it is to give the perfect gift, but something that leaves a lasting impression is the presentation. Wrapping your jewelry with unique and creative flair can make an ordinary gift into an extraordinary one. Here are some fun and creative ideas for wrapping jewelry:

  • Using brightly colored wrapping paper – Add some extra ‘wow' factor to the gift by finding or creating a design you like with brightly colored paper or fabric.
  • Creating a Ribbon Art design – Grab some festive ribbon and create designs like hearts or flowers using it as an accent around the box. You can even get creative and add shapes or symbols that compliment the occasion as well.
  • Adding special touch with personalized labels – Make sure your gifts have that personalized touch by adding labels or tags with the recipient's name on them.
  • Incorporating metallic elements – Metallic elements such as silver, gold, and copper are always sure to make a statement. Incorporate these colors using cellophane wrap, tissue paper, string, stickers etc.
  • Using other items for decoration – Include items like beads, shells, ribbons, raffia or feathers for added texture and dimension around your boxes.

Wrapping jewelry doesn't have to be stressful nor expensive. All it takes is creativity and accessorizing to find something truly special for a memorable present. For extra of pizzazz choose pieces of fabric such as lace, tulle or organza that will give depth to your creation while enhancing the beauty of the jewelry piece inside.

Don't be afraid to adorn wrapping paper too; you can add extra sentiment by cutting out pictures from magazines or junk mail of items associated with the recipient such as images of their favorite pet or sport activity. Foil-printed papers are another way to add shimmer or sparkle without breaking the bank. Always remember that however intricate your design may be; ensure that it helps represents who you're gifting to in a unique way.

Wrapping with Eco-Friendly Materials

Wrapping jewelry gifts doesn't have to be complicated or expensive. Many individuals are seeking cheap and eco-friendly options for their gift wrapping needs. Here is a list of eco-friendly materials to consider for your next jewelry gift wrapping needs:

  • Fabric: Fabric is an excellent option as it allows you to match the color and style of the person receiving the gift, all while keeping it on theme with green initiatives.
  • Twine & String: Twine and string are tough enough to hold any wrapped packages together while providing an aesthetic appeal that looks natural.
  • Natural Brown Wrapping Paper: Natural brown paper often makes a statement of its own, adding a classic look to your wrapped package.
  • Bamboo & Cloth Gift Boxes: Bamboo and cloth boxes provide protection for delicate items while leaving room for customization with ribbons, bows, or even unique messages.

In addition to using green materials, there are other ways you can add an element of eco-friendliness into your gift wrapping process. For example, use recyclable tissue paper instead of traditional wood pulp paper if available in your area. Additionally, be mindful of where you source your materials from and always opt for biodegradable or plant-based packaging whenever possible.

Even if not officially certified as such, some packaging alternatives have already started transitioning away from traditional synthetic materials and are now made at least partially with recycled plastic or sustainable fabrics. Finally, try looking for reclaimed wrapping paper with minimal ink coverage so that further waste isn't generated by disposing them after use.

For further creativity results in wrapping jewelry gifts, reuse transparent containers or bags from past purchases as an alternative wrap solution. This not only cuts down on waste but also adds some personalization depending on who gave you the item base layer originally.

Also reusing old fabric can create fascinating wrap option such as scarves or bandanas instead of the conventional twine string wraps we often use for other items like wine bottles or candles. With a little creativity and flexibility when it comes to wrapping jewelry gifts the possibilities become endless.

Concluding Remarks

When it comes to gifting jewelry, you want to make the presentation as special as the gift itself. Unique gift wrapping ideas can help add a personal touch and make your gift stand out from the crowd. There are many creative ways to wrap jewelry that will show your recipient just how much you care.

One way to spruce up jewelry wrapping is by adding small trinkets like tiny flower petals, glitter dust, or feathers. Not only does this look beautiful, but it is also economical and allows you to personalize the packaging according to your own preferences. A memento box is another great way to present jewelry as a meaningful present – fill it with items such as charms, photos, or other items that are unique and personal to your recipient.

A personalized card is always an option when it comes to wrapping presents like jewelry. Include a custom note along with your gift – expressing why you chose the item or what made you think of them while purchasing this particular piece of jewelry – as well as any additional heartfelt thoughts or words of appreciation for them having such an important place in your life.

Having a thoughtful message included adds an extra layer of sentimentality and effort into making it a truly special present.

Finally, consider including sentimental decorations around the boxes or canvas bags that contain the pieces of jewelry. An example would be placing buttons within transparent boxes before enclosing them in decorative paper or fabric bags – which is a good option for larger gifts too.

Another idea would be using small printed photographs around sections of wrapping paper with ribbon tying all elements together before tucking away the gift inside. There's no lack of creative ways in which one may organise, choose materials and embellish upon for their very own customized presentation of jewelry.

6 fun and creative ways to give a jewelry gift.

6 Fun And Creative Ways To Give A Jewelry Gift

You’ve purchased a beautiful piece of jewelry for your girlfriend, wife or family member. Maybe it’s designer earrings or a stunning handmade necklace.

She’s going to be thrilled! But have you put any thought into fun and creative ways to give her this jewelry gift ?

Normally, you would wait until it was the morning of her birthday, or you were sitting down over a romantic dinner. When the moment is right, you would give her a jewelry box – probably wrapped. And there’s nothing wrong with this! It’s a classic, and expected way to receive a gift. But let’s face it – she’s had this same experience before. She’ll love the jewelry …but the moment might be forgotten. However, it doesn’t take much extra effort to present the jewelry in a fun and creative way, setting it apart from all the other times she’s received jewelry before.

If you get it right, any woman will enjoy receiving her gift in a special and unique way that she can always remember. She’ll always treasure the memory, and it will create a fun story for her to tell all her friends when they ask where she got her stunning new bracelet.

But, remember that when you give a gift in a non-traditional way, not every creative option is right for every girl.

A shy and low maintenance girl might feel embarrassed to have a gift show up to her work. A very serious woman might not appreciate working through a scavenger hunt. As you read the ideas, imagine your gift recipient and how she would react to them.

1. Misleading packaging

Shiny Star Bracelet 18K Gold Over Sterling Silver

When planning the misleading packaging trick, you want to make sure that she begins to feel a little disappointed. The best way to do this is to find a box for a terrible gift, such as a laundry powder box, and then simply put the jewelry box – the real gift – inside.

She’ll be upset that you got her such an awful present for your anniversary or whatever the occasion is. But, when the real jewelry gift comes out, her negative feelings will be quickly replaced with surprise and joy. If the recipient of this gift has a good sense of humor and you have a playful relationship, this is such a fun and creative way to give a jewelry gift.

2. Surprise her in a special location

A simple but effective way to elevate the way you give a jewelry gift is to consider the setting. If it’s a romantic anniversary, take her to the cafe you had your first date. If it’s her birthday, take her to a place you know she loves, like her favorite restaurant or a scenic lookout where you know that she feels at peace. The setting will have a major impact on the moment she receives her perfectly selected new jewelry.

The place you choose depends on the reason you’re giving her jewelry, but feel free to get creative. In fact, the less romantic the location is, the less she’ll expect you to pull out a beautiful necklace , bracelet or earrings! If you take her outside of the house where you first met at a party years ago, it’s so personal to your relationship – there’s nothing romantic about the location for anyone except you two. She’ll love that you remembered the location that’s so unique to your love story.

3. Use a holiday ornament for a festive surprise

This is a perfect creative way to give a jewelry gift during the holiday season. To pull this off, all you have to do is find a clear glass Christmas tree bauble at any craft store. Remove the top and put the jewelry inside. Hang it on the Christmas tree, and on the day, have her go search on the tree for her gift.

You can also add other details such as a little glitter or confetti to make it more attention grabbing and pretty. When the bauble hangs on the tree, the light will bounce off it and the jewelry inside will shimmer and look gorgeous.

4. Plan a scavenger hunt

Doesn’t simply giving the recipient her gift seem a little too easy? Instead, hand her an envelope with the first clue, and set her off on a scavenger hunt to find clues and track down her first. This idea requires a little extra planning, but is so creative and perfect if she’s the sort of person who loves puzzles and figuring stuff out.

You can make the hunt as long, difficult and complex as you like. It could be just in the house, or all over town. You could have some sort of theme, such as her favorite hobby. There are so many ways to customize this idea. It’s such a fun and different way to get her really excited for what she’s going to find at the end!

5. Brighten her boring work day

Many women love receiving a gift from their partner at work, particularly when they aren’t expecting it. Everyone knows how exciting it feels to be the one getting flowers or chocolates delivered to the office! Just make sure that her job has the kind of workplace where this sort of thing is acceptable.

This method for giving a jewelry gift is a particularly great choice on a day like Valentine’s Day, when her colleagues are likely to be getting gifts too. This way, she won’t feel embarrassed from having attention on her. Though, with that said, if she loves being in the spotlight, you can do this for her on any occasion. Or do this even as a random surprise!

6. Let her find it herself

Rather than handing over the gift, you can place it somewhere where she’s bound to stumble upon it. Put the present somewhere she accesses during her daily routine, like inside her shoe or in her coffee mug. She’ll be going about her day as normal when she’ll suddenly come across an unexpected, stunning gift. It helps if the hiding place is somewhere totally mundane, so she’s totally caught off guard when she finds something out of the ordinary and special there.

Remember that you have to consider the woman’s personality and preferences. Many women might want a slightly flashier presentation than this. However, this is perfect for someone who’s no fuss and low maintenance, the kind of person who insisted you didn’t have to get her anything, but you wanted to treat her anyway!

ARY DPO Hearts and Orbs necklace placed with the branded packaging and a beautiful bouquet of red roses

By putting a little extra planning into the presentation of your gift, you’ll take the moment to new heights. If you choose to give the earrings, necklace or bracelet you’ve carefully chosen in an imaginative way, make sure the method you choose matches her personality. And if you give it to her in a way she finds exciting and special, she’ll remember that unique moment forever!

Education Push Present Ideas: Meaningful Jewelry Options

Push Present Ideas: Meaningful Jewelry Options

A “push present” is a gift given to a new mother, typically by her partner, to celebrate the birth of their child. The term “push” comes from the act of childbirth, although it should be noted that the gift is not limited to mothers who have given birth through natural labor; it’s a celebration of motherhood in general. The practice has gained popularity in recent years and the presents can range from sentimental keepsakes to lavish gifts like diamond jewelry.

The amount spent on a push present can vary widely depending on various factors such as financial situation, personal preferences, and cultural norms. There isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer, but some estimates suggest that the cost could range from a few hundred to several thousand dollars. For example, a piece of custom jewelry with the baby’s birthstone could cost anywhere from $200 to $1,000 or more, while high-end gifts like diamond earrings or luxury watches could easily exceed several thousand dollars.

It’s worth mentioning that the emotional significance of the gift is often more important than the financial value. Some new mothers might appreciate a less expensive, yet heartfelt gift like a personalized photo frame or a handwritten letter just as much as a costly piece of jewelry. Ultimately, the best push present is one that the new mother will cherish and that fits within your budget.

Below we give some of the best push present ideas picked out by our experts.

Why you should trust us

“If your due date is anytime during the holidays, you definitely deserve a fabulous gift of jewelry, whether it be your first, second, or fourth child.” “Push Presents, a phrase coined for presents given and received by a romantic partner when women give birth, have become an occasion gift over the past 10-15 years. ” Beth Bernstein, Forbes.com

Bottom Line Recommendation:

Welcoming a new member into your family—whether it’s your first child or your fourth—is an incredibly special time. Choose a push present that will remain a keepsake for years to come.

Select a piece of jewelry, like this pendant from James Allen or this pair of earrings from Blue Nile , to commemorate the new life and recognize your partner who gave birth. Be sure to choose a reputable jewelry vendor like Blue Nile or James Allen .

What are Push Presents?

Blue Topaz Cushion Push Present Earrings

Push presents are given by the father to the mother for carrying their child throughout the pregnancy and “pushing” out a baby. Of course, women who deliver by c-section also get these presents. While the baby is the biggest gift of all, showing appreciation for the woman who went through the ups and downs of pregnancy, labor, body changes and morning sickness is hardly a bad idea.

The most popular push presents are jewelry, whether that’s a necklace , bracelet or pair of earrings . Push presents often become keepsakes as they are beautiful reminders of the baby and how much the woman is appreciated by her partner. Luckily, there’s a wide range of jewelry options, including something for every budget and style. In this article, we’re sharing over 50 push present ideas.

When Did Push Presents Start?

It’s hard to pinpoint the exact date when push presents began, but they’ve been popular since 2004—and continue to gain in popularity. Some believe the prevalence of push presents is due to fathers being more involved with pregnancy and parenthood.

In general, men today are more in tune with the difficulties of pregnancy. They desire to recognize and appreciate the woman for all that she goes through.

Another rise in the popularity of push presents is due to the wide media coverage of celebrities receiving push presents after birth. For example, Jay-Z gave Beyoncé a blue tanzanite ring similar to this one from Leibish & Co. that was estimated to cost $35,000. And Mariah Carey received a diamond and pink sapphire necklace after giving birth to her twins that was valued at $12,000.

Are Push Presents Necessary?

While some women (and men) would argue that a gift in recognition for going through pregnancy and labor is not much to ask, others believe that the baby is enough of a gift. No matter which side you fall on, a present for a woman who went through pregnancy and delivery will be surely appreciated and kept for many years to come.

Push Present Etiquette

The timing for when you give your push present is completely up to you. Some bring it to the hospital for after the delivery, while others wait a few days to present the gift. In general, it’s best to have the push present ordered well in advance, so you’ll have it ready in case the baby arrives early.

11 Best Push Present Jewelry Ideas

Below, we’ve listed 14 different push present jewelry ideas, ranging from diamond necklaces to pearl earrings, gemstone rings and more. Our push present ideas are grouped according to the type of precious stone or jewel they contain — diamond, gemstones or pearl.

Unlike with engagement rings, where diamonds are the traditional choice of stone, there isn’t a well-established tradition for gemstones or other jewels used in push presents. This gives you a lot more freedom to choose something creative and personal for your partner.

Of the jewelry choices we’ve listed below, each offers its own unique advantages:

  • Push Present Ideas: Diamond Jewelry – Diamonds offer a timeless, traditional elegance that’s completely unique. They’re a great choice if your partner has a diamond engagement ring or other diamond jewelry that will complement their new gift.
  • Push Present Ideas: Gemstone Jewelry – Gemstone push presents allow you to get more creative and personal. For example, you could choose a gemstone ring or pendant with your partner or newborn baby’s birthstone as an unforgettable keepsake to mark the beginning of their life. As the GIA explains , many birthstones have unique meanings and qualities that can add an extra something special and significant to the occasion of your child’s birth.
  • Push Present Ideas: Pearl Jewelry – Pearls also give you the opportunity to give something creative, beautiful and personal. As we’ve covered in our guide to pearl jewelry , pearls come in a diverse variety of colors, sizes, shapes, luster and prices.

Push Present Ideas: Diamond Jewelry

Not only are diamonds beautiful, they are timeless. A push present made with a diamond or multiple diamonds will be treasured for a lifetime.

Received great in-depth assistance from Veronika on my quest to buy an engagement ring for my partner. It can be quite a minefield for someone without industry know-how to get a great, well-cut diamond on the online marketplace, so the second opinion was not only welcome but desperately sought. In the end, I received wonderful advice and am confident the diamond purchased was the best my budget could afford! Thank you

Diamonds Pro helped us pick a diamond, according to our budget and a few other criteria. We ended up buying a loose diamond from James Allen. We felt that we got very good value for money. The diamond was appraised by another jeweler where we live, confirming its characteristics and value. Finally, we had the diamond set in a ring by a local jeweler, and we’re very pleased with the result! Thank you Diamonds Pro 😊

Creative Ways to Give a Gift – Unique Presentation Ideas

gift presentation earrings

So you’ve found the perfect gift, and hopefully selected a card. I’m sure that the recipient will be appreciative however you choose to give it to her.

Rather than just handing her the gift at the usual time, you could go a step further and make the presentation extra special. Here are some memorable gift presentation ideas:

Unique Gift Wrapping Ideas

Four ways to give a gift for new moms or moms-to-be, 1. the diaper package.

When I was about 200 months pregnant with my 3rd child (at least it felt like I had been pregnant that long), my husband gave me for Christmas a beautifully wrapped package. When I unwrapped the gift, I found a newborn diaper all bundled up just like you do with a used diaper. (He had even added a little mustard to the diaper to make it look realistic)

Fortunately, when I opened the diaper, I found a lovely jewelry box with a beautiful pair of diamond earrings inside. My husband, kid, and parents all had a great laugh at the icky expression on my face when I found the “used” diaper – and I had a wonderful pair of earrings!

2.  The Gift Inside a Gift Trick

Part of the fun of getting a present is unwrapping. You can keep the joy going by putting your present inside a larger box and wrapping the larger box nicely.

Then put that box inside a larger box, and wrap the larger box. Continue going as many times as you’d like – I’d suggest 3 or 4 boxes.

3.  The Fake Size Gift Box Trick

This is especially good for when you think the recipient might have some idea as to what the gift is. Simply place the present in a much larger than it actually needs.

The trick here is to also add enough weight to the box so that when the recipient picks up the box, the extra weight fools her. For example, my mother once thought that she was getting silverware for Christmas (which she actually was).

When I wrapped the present, I put it in a box that originally held a sleeping bag. I then added a few weights from my brother’s weight set so that the box was very heavy. As a final touch, I wrote “fragile” on the gift tag.

Mom spent quite a bit of time that year trying to figure out what gift could be so heavy yet also fragile – and she was quite surprised when she opened it to find silverware (either that, or she’s a wonderful actress)!

4.  Inside a Book

If you’re giving her tickets, a gift card, or another flat gift, you could always tuck the present inside a book and then wrap the book nicely.

Then she’ll have the fun of reading the book as well as enjoying the actual present itself.

Fun Ways to Give Her a Gift

1.  treasure hunt.

My best friend’s husband actually proposed to her this way! I liked the idea so much that I used it several times with my kids, who loved finding their presents this way.

This one can take a little bit – or a lot – of planning, depending upon how you do it. The easiest way is to simply write clues on decorative notes or pieces of paper that direct her to other clues. The final clue will lead to the gift.

If your treasure hunt only takes place in your house or apartment, then it just takes a little while to prepare the treasure hunt.

You could go all out and hide clues throughout the neighborhood or town. You can then walk or drive (or better yet, splurge on a limousine) to the different locations.

Obviously, this method will take a bit of time as you have to place the clues all over town before the event. It’s definitely a memory that she will enjoy for years to come – and you’ll get major boyfriend/husband points in the process!

2.  On the Cake

Most gift-giving occasions call for a cake of some sort. If you’re giving her something small such as a ring, you could gently set the gift on top of her piece of cake before serving her.

3.  In a Drink

This is another fun way to give jewelry…simply drop the jewelry into the glass before you give it to her. Be sure that the glass is clear and the beverage is light colored so that she will see the gift rather than gulp it down!

Unique Times to Give a Present

You probably have a traditional time to open gifts. In our family, birthday gifts are opened in the evening once everyone is home from school or work.

Breaking out of the gift-giving time rut is an easy way to add excitement to the occasion. Here are some unique times to give gifts:

  • First thing in the morning: Start her day off right by bringing her a cup of coffee and her gift while she’s still in bed. If it’s a workday, be sure to allow a little extra time to enjoy the moment rather than being rushed.
  • In the bathroom: Most women have a makeup kit or a drawer where they store all their toiletries. Put her present in that kit or drawer so that she finds it while she’s getting ready in the morning.
  • In the car: Place her present on the dashboard of her car for her to be surprised with as she leaves the house. Don’t put it on the car seat; she may not look before sitting down – you don’t want a squashed present!
  • At the office: Have a co-worker slip a gift onto her desk or into the drawer that she stores supplies or her purse in.
  • In the kitchen: Surprise her by placing the gift in an unexpected place, such as the refrigerator or in a cupboard that you know that she’ll look in during the day.

85 Heartfelt "Thank You" Messages and Words of Appreciation

A handwritten note is so much more meaningful than a generic store-bought card.

preview for 16 Things Your Kid's Teacher Needs to Hear

Thank you messages for gifts

Thank you messages for wedding presents, birthday thank you messages, graduation thank you messages, thank you messages for help given.

Saying "thank you" in person is a great way to show your appreciation, but taking the time to sit down and write a thoughtful handwritten "thank you" note can express your gratitude in a more meaningful way.

While the etiquette is clear on the necessity of thank you cards, what goes inside can be a bit trickier. Sure, you can always buy a pre-written card at any store, with the sentiment still being very sweet, but a personalized "thank you" message really goes the extra mile to show someone you cherish their effort, time and ultimately, their sweet gesture.

What is the best thank you message?

While the best message to write in any kind of card is always a personalized one, we all need a little inspiration sometimes. Start with some of these sentiments, and then add an element that makes it your own.

Maybe that's a memory you share from the party where you received a gift, an inside joke from a vacation you went on together, or how you plan to use a monetary gift. Whatever it is, don't forget to seal it with love. And while it's best to send thank-you cards as soon as you can after a birthday, wedding, special event or meaningful favor, there's no expiration date on gratitude. Whenever you get to it, they'll appreciate the thought.

Miss Manners: There’s no need to give two wedding gifts to a couple who holds two ceremonies

DEAR MISS MANNERS: We have been friends with a couple for about 30 years. We have watched their children grow to be lovely young ladies, as they have watched ours grow to be adults. We are close with the couple but not so much with their children.

In 2021, during COVID, their youngest daughter got married in a small private ceremony in their backyard. Only about 15 people were in attendance. Because we are close to our friends, we gave their daughter and her new husband a monetary wedding gift even though we weren’t invited to their wedding. The daughter and her new husband did not acknowledge the gift.

Fast-forward to the present day: We are invited to a celebration of their wedding. My question is, do we give another gift?

GENTLE READER: This couple has been married for three years, and you already gave them a wedding present. Miss Manners is not aware of the need for a You’re Still Married present.

That said, perhaps you are so fond of the parents, and have such pleasant memories of the daughter as a child, that you want to do something extra. While there is no need to give a present, there is no ban against doing so.

(Please send your questions to Miss Manners at her website, www.missmanners.com ; to her email, [email protected] ; or through postal mail to Miss Manners, Andrews McMeel Syndication, 1130 Walnut St., Kansas City, MO 64106.)

Former Lee sheriff's deputy arrested, accused of firing into Lehigh Acres jewelry

Michael soto, 37, is the third lee county sheriff's deputy arrested in the last two weeks..

A former Lee County sheriff's deputy faces several charges after authorities say they linked him to a breach at a Lehigh Acres jewelry store.

Michael Soto, 37, faces one count of discharging a firearm in public from a vehicle within 1,000 feet from a person and one count of shooting into an unoccupied building.

According to his arrest 10-page affidavit, shortly before 2 a.m. June 30, the sheriff's office was alerted of an alarm that went off at Gold Forever Jewelry, 904 Lee Blvd., in Lehigh Acres.

When deputies arrived at the business, the report says, they found a shattered front glass door. The affidavit says a representative for the establishment provided authorities with security footage.

Sentenced for shooting seniors: Cape Coral teen who shot Lehigh Acres seniors towing boat last year gets 17 years

The heavily redacted report indicates that through the footage they matched a Ford F-150 pickup on scene to Soto's.

When sheriff's deputies took him into custody, documents say, Soto refused to speak without a lawyer present.

According to documents provided by the sheriff's office, Soto began his employment as a sheriff's deputy in Lee County in May 2018.

Soto was released Wednesday afternoon on $100,000 bond. His arraignment is scheduled Sept. 9.

He is one of three Lee County sheriff's deputies arrested in the past two weeks.

Two other LCSO deputies arrested in the last two weeks

Bryon Haycook, 51, of Cape Coral, faces one count of transmission of material harmful to a minor. He was booked into the Lee County Jail on Thursday.

In May, the sheriff’s office received a cybertip about a man communicating online with a 17-year-old girl.  The conversations contained explicit content and photos.

He was arrested nearly a week after Tyrese Jackson , 37, who faces one count of scheme to defraud and two counts of official misconduct in a public agency. Jackson was booked into the Lee County Jail on July 28 and released the following day on $7,500 bond.

Court documents list nine victims throughout seven encounters with Jackson between Jan. 2 and Jan. 22. The 25-page report says Jackson targeted Hispanic motorists, "with little to no valid identification" and a language barrier.

Penn receives $10M gift to advance interdisciplinary work on climate and sustainability

The gift will establish the penn climate sustainability initiative, fostering collaboration across academic disciplines and all 12 schools on campus..

Aerial view of Penn’s campus and the city of Philadelphia.

The University of Pennsylvania is pleased to announce a $10 million gift from alumnus Alp Ercil to establish the Penn Climate Sustainability Initiative, which will draw upon Penn’s strengths in interdisciplinary teaching and research to address climate and sustainability from multiple perspectives.

“Penn has promised to lead on the greatest challenges of our time, and climate change may be the greatest challenge of all,” says Penn Interim President J. Larry Jameson . “Thanks to the groundbreaking work of Penn researchers and scientists, we are already seeing amazing breakthroughs. We are tremendously grateful to Alp Ercil for his inspirational commitment, which will allow us to accelerate our efforts. We will draw on our collective strengths in climate science and policy to advance our understanding of these challenges and discover solutions that will make a difference around the world.”

Building on Penn’s leadership in fostering collaboration across academic disciplines, the Climate Sustainability Initiative will create a unique university-wide initiative that brings together all 12 Schools on campus, as well as interdisciplinary programs including the Kleinman Center for Energy Policy , the Environmental Innovations Initiative , and the Center for Science, Sustainability, and the Media .

The Penn Climate Sustainability Initiative will also accelerate the campus-wide Climate and Sustainability Action Plan and enhance Penn’s contribution to the global policy debate.

“Penn has the key pieces in place to make a significant contribution to the urgent issue of climate change,” said Ercil. “I am thrilled to help advance this work, accelerate innovation, and strengthen Penn’s role at the forefront of this field.”

Leading on climate change is one of the key priorities of In Principle and Practice, Penn’s strategic framework. The University’s commitment to this issue is broad, ranging from leading in energy science and policy to designing and caring for the built environment. To realize these goals, Penn will support and recruit the best minds in the field, fuel initiatives that advance knowledge and promise solutions, and adopt institutional best practices for the sake of the future of the planet.

Ercil’s commitment will serve as a catalyst for this important work, providing needed funds for priority initiatives to be determined in partnership among the Interim President, Provost John L. Jackson Jr., and a soon-to-be appointed inaugural Vice Provost for Climate Science, Policy, and Action.

“This support from Alp Ercil comes at the perfect time, as we implement our strategic framework and prepare to introduce the new Vice Provost for Climate Science, Policy, and Action,” explained Jackson. “The Penn Climate Sustainability Initiative will advance Penn’s strengths in this critical field by accelerating interdisciplinary connections and building collaborations on our campus and beyond.”

Alp Ercil is the founder and Chief Investment Officer of Asia Research and Capital Management, Ltd., a Hong Kong and Dubai-based investment management firm founded in 2011. He is a 1995 graduate of Penn’s Management & Technology (M&T) Program, a dual-degree program in which he earned a B.S in Economics from Wharton and a B.S. in Systems Engineering from Penn Engineering. An active Penn volunteer, Ercil is a current member of the Penn Asia Leadership Committee and an emeritus member of Undergraduate Financial Aid Leadership Council (UFLC). He also participates in the Alumni Ambassador Program (formerly known as the Penn Alumni Interview Program). His past gifts to Penn have supported the Ercil Endowed Scholarship, the M&T Integration Lab, and the UFLC Challenge Fund.
