How to check IGNOU Assignment Submission Online for IGNOU RC Delhi 1

IGNOU Regional Center Delhi 1 has released the assignment submission of students on their official website. All students who had submitted their assignments in lot 1 can view their status. RC Delhi 1 has released list of assignments received in lot 1 as a form of PDF file.

IGNOU Assignment FAQs: From Validity to Submission

Friends, there is always some confusion in the minds of IGNOU students related to IGNOU assignments and there are many questions related to it. When I was also studying from IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University), I also had such questions in my mind, but at that time I did not find anyone to answer them.

If you are also a student of IGNOU, then you will also have many questions related to IGNOU assignments in your mind. If you have any questions related to this, then keep reading this post. In this post, we are going to answer these questions of yours.

Here are some of the most common questions that IGNOU students have about assignments:

Question 1. When can we submit IGNOU assignments?

Answer: You can submit your assignments as soon as the year/semester in which you have taken admission starts. Just keep one thing in mind that the IGNOU assignment question you are solving should be valid when you submit the assignment.

Question 2. What is the last date for submitting IGNOU assignments?

Answer: You must submit your assignment before filling out the exam form for the term-end examination you want to appear in. You can submit the assignment before the last date for filling the exam form.

Question 3. How to know the validity of an IGNOU assignment question?

Answer: Whenever you start working on an assignment, make sure that the question will still be valid when you submit it. Each IGNOU assignment question has a validity date written on it. See the image below. This assignment question shows the validity date of the question.

• Students of the July 2023 session who want to take the exam in June 2024 will have to solve and submit this question by March, 2024.
• Similarly, students of the January 2024 session who want to take the exam in December 2024 will have to solve and submit this question by September, 2024.

After these dates, the question will become invalid. All IGNOU assignment questions have these dates written on them. So start working on your assignment only after checking these dates.

Question 4. Can I fill the exam form without submitting the assignment?

Answer: This question is on the mind of almost every student. If you are filling the offline exam form, the answer is NO. You will not be able to fill it up without submitting the assignment. The main reason for this is that before filling the offline exam form, you have to get it attested by the coordinator of your study center that you have submitted the assignment. Your study center coordinator will not attest it without submitting the assignment.

If you are filling the online exam form, the answer is YES. But you can only fill the exam form, no one can tell if you will get the hall ticket/admit card for the exam. Even if you somehow take the exam, your exam result will not be published.

In this way, we can say that you cannot take the exam without submitting the assignment.

Question 5. If we have submitted the assignment and failed the exam, do we have to submit the assignment again?

Answer: It happens with many students that they are not able to clear the exam in one go. If you have submitted the assignment once and for some reason you have not cleared the exam or you have failed, then you do not need to submit the assignment again. You can directly fill the exam form for the next exam and take the exam.

You only have to submit the assignment once for each subject. After that, you can clear that subject by taking the exam repeatedly.

IGNOU   follows a multi-tier system of evaluation including Assignments, Term End Examination, Project or Practical examination. Every IGNOU candidate has to write and submit their IGNOU assignments to the study centre before the due date. How to Download IGNOU Assignment 2024?  

The students can download the assignment papers by following these steps: 

Step 1: Visit the official website of the university at ignou.ac.in.

Step 2: Click on the ‘Student Support’ option, then click on ‘Student Zone’.

Step 3: Click on the option ‘Assignments’ and you will be redirected to the question papers.

Step 4: Select your respective course and download the assignment papers. 

Is it Compulsory to Submit IGNOU Assignment 2024?  

Assignments carry a total number of 30% marks in the overall percentage of a candidate, thus, it is compulsory for every student to submit the assignments within the stipulated time. It will increase one’s performance report on the grade card. Without assignments, the course is incomplete and one must necessarily submit it. The students must score at least 40% marks to pass and thereafter for filling the exam form to appear in the Term End Examination (TEE). 

Guidelines for Writing IGNOU Assignment 2024

Assignments constitute the continuous evaluation component of a course. They can be done in your home or workplace or library or any other place you think has the right environment. 

• It is important to write the answers in your own words. The university follows a strict “No Plagiarism” policy and it will not accept the assignments if plagiarised. 
• The study material provided to you is the best source to refer for writing answers. 
• The answers should be precise, well documented and relevant to the question. A reasonably adequate response can be presented within the required word limit.
• Whenever you receive a set of assignments, check them immediately. If there are some missing or blank pages, contact your concerned Regional Director.
• For your own record, retain a copy of all the answers to the assignments you submitted to the Coordinator of your Study Centre. It will help you in the future to prepare for Term End Examinations.

How to Submit IGNOU Assignment 2024?

IGNOU Assignments can be submitted through Online and Offline modes. The mode of submission for assignments varies based on the respective study centers. Students can check the mode of assignment submission by visiting the official website of their respective regional center. Students who have completed their assignments can check the step-by-step guide to submit their assignments via online or offline modes:

IGNOU Assignment Submission Through Online Mode:

IGNOU assignments can be submitted online mode by filling out the Google form or sending an email to the respective study centers of their respective regional center. Step-by-Step process to submit IGNOU assignments through Google form or email is as follows:

IGNOU Assignment Submission through Google Form:

Students can follow the steps given below to submit their IGNOU Assignment using Google Forms:

• Visit the official website of IGNOU @ignou.ac.in.
• Click on “Regional Network” on the menu bar and then click on “Regional Centers” from the drop-down menu.
• Now Click on the “Regional Center’s Websites” and navigate to your respective regional center of IGNOU.
• Now visit the official website of your selected regional center’s website and click on “News and Event” on the homepage of the RC’s official website
• Now click on “Assignment Guidelines” or “Assignment Submission” where you’ll get the Google form link.
• By clicking on the Google form link, a new Google form for assignment submission will be open in a new tab.
• Now fill in all the important details such as name, enrolment number, subject code, and others.
• Upload all the scanned copies of assignment in the PDF format (make sure the file size does not exceed 100 MB) and submit the form.

IGNOU Assignment Submission through Email:

IGNOU has started accepting assignments via email. This facility might not be available for all study centers of your respective regional centers. If the Google Form submission is not available or the quota is full, students can submit their assignments by sending an email to their respective regional centers. The step-by-step process to submit IGNOU assignments via email is as follows:

• Find the official email address of your respective regional center through the official website of IGNOU under the “Regional Network” on the homepage.
• Mention all the important details of the IGNOU Assignment Front Page such as enrolment number, program name, subject code, study center code/name, session, contact details, etc.
• Attach all the scanned copies of your assignment in PDF format and send an email to your respective regional center.

After submitting the assignment via email, students will receive an acknowledgment email which might take a few hours. If you have still not received the email, check whether your study center is accepting through email or there’s a Google form link to submit the assignment. Students must note that many IGNOU Regional Centers are not sending acknowledgment emails so you don’t need to worry about it and keep checking the assignment submission status. ​

IGNOU Assignment Submission Through Offline Mode:

Students are required to visit their respective Study or Regional Centers to submit the assignments for their respective courses. It is necessary to submit the assignments before filling the Term End Examination form. Go through the following points to know more about the submission process for assignments: 

• Write your Enrollment Number, Name, Full Address, Signature, and Date on the top of the first page of your response sheet. It must look like this - 

• Read the assignments carefully and follow the instructions, if any, given along with the questions.
• Go through the units on which the assignments are based. Note the important points related to the questions and rearrange them in a logical order and write a rough outline for your answer. 
• Use A4 size paper for writing your responses and tie all the pages carefully. Allow a margin on the left side and a few lines in between each answer. This will help the evaluator to write comments on the margin. 
• Do not print or type the answers and write the responses to assignments in your own handwriting.
• You must answer each question separately on a separate set of papers. Write the question number carefully before answering.
• The completed assignment must be submitted at the address communicated to you by the Regional Center or your program coordinator. 
• After submitting the assignment, get the duly signed acknowledgment slip from the Coordinator.

• It is compulsory to submit the IGNOU Assignment 2024 before the term-end examinations.
• Keep a copy of the IGNOU assignment response for future references.

How to Submit IGNOU Assignment for TEE December 2024?

IGNOU Assignment Submission Methods 2024 – As per the regular schedule of the IGNOU Assignment submission, the university going to accept the IGNOU Assignment for the Term-end examination December 2024 till 30th September 2024 so the students can submit their assignments latest by 30th September 2024 to get eligible to appear in the upcoming TEE December 2024 . It is also noted that the given last date is subject to change or extension that should not be treated as the final date of submission.

The university may extend the assignment submission date so candidates have to wait for the official announcement from IGNOU after they missed the due date. The students now can also submit their assignments online if they are not able to visit their respective centers. So, now there are three different ways how the students can submit the assignments based on their convenience.

IGNOU Assignment Submission Through Offline Mode

This is the usual way through which the students usually submit the assignments. The students have to finish answering the questions of the assignments and then submit them to the study center. While preparing the assignments, you should make sure that the very first page of the assignment should have all the necessary details.

• The name of the student
• Enrolment number
• Program and Code code
• Name, Code, and address of the study center where you are submitting the assignment
• Mobile number and email address of the student

If you are submitting the assignments directly through offline mode, the person at the study center will offer you a receipt that you need to keep safe till the result is not declared.

IGNOU Assignment Submission Through Online Mode

For students who are not able to visit the study center to submit the assignments can also submit them online now by following any of these two methods. It is noted that both of the methods are subject to availability at the respective regional centre.

Google Form

The very first method is that of Google Forms. The students can visit the respective regional portals of IGNOU and then submit the assignments. You can follow the below steps for the successful submission of assignments through Google Form.

Step – 1 – First of all, have a look on the list of IGNOU Regional Centres at the Official Website of IGNOU and go to your RC website.

Step – 2 – On the homepage of RC’s official page, go to the section of News and Events.

Step – 3 – You should get the option of Assignment Guidelines or Assignment Submission on which you have to click.

Step – 4 – As you click on the link, the Google form will get open in the browser.

Step – 5 – Now now start filling the form with proper details such as your name, enrolment number, subject code, and others.

Step – 6 – Carefully upload the scanned copy of your assignment and submit the form.

Instructions to Follow

While you are submitting the assignments through Google Form, make sure that you follow these important instructions.

• You have to fill a new form for each subject.
• Make sure that you are uploading the assignment files correctly.
• You need to scan the handwritten copies of the assignments and upload them.
• The scanned copy of assignments should not be more than 100MB.
• You should only submit the PDF format of the scanned copy.
• Though you will be entering the basic details in the Google Form, it is also a great idea to mention the same details on your assignment copy also.
• The option of submitting the assignments through Google Forms will be available only when the quota of email submission is over.

IGNOU Assignment Submission Through Email

Though IGNOU has started the option of submitting the assignments through Google Forms, it will be not available in all the regional centers. The option of Google Forms will be only applicable if the email quota of a regional center is over and they are not more able to receive assignment emails from the students.

Here is the method that you need to follow to submit your assignments through email.

Step – 1 – Mention all the important details on the IGNOU Assignment Front Page that you would do in the case of offline submissions such as name, subject name and code, program and course code, study center name and code, contact details, and others.

Step – 2 – Scan your handwritten assignment copy and get it in PDF format. Each subject assignment should be in each PDF copy.

Step – 3 – Find out the email address of your regional center from Google in the same way how you search for the regional center portal link.

Step – 4 – In the body of the email, provide all the details in a listicle format that you have mentioned on the front page of your assignments.

Step – 5 – Now attach the PDF formats of your assignments and send the email to the respective regional center email address.

After you have sent the email, you should receive an acknowledgment. It may take a few hours to get this acknowledgment email. But if you have still not received it, you should check whether the regional portal has shared the link for Google Forms or not and should upload the assignments there too.

It is also noted that the many of the regional centre of IGNOU is not sending any confirmation or acknowledgment after the submission of IGNOU Assignments so you don’t need to worry about it instead of keep checking the IGNOU Assignment Status to get the latest status, marks and result.

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)  offers a wide range of open learning courses in all the streams like arts, science, technology, management, commerce, etc.

The Regional Centre has been defined under Section 2(J) of the IGNOU Act as under: “Regional Centre” means a Centre established or maintained by the University for the purpose of coordinating and supervising the work of the Study Centres in any region and for performing such other functions as may be conferred on such Centre by the Board of Management (BoM).

Regional Centres are established with the support and cooperation of the respective State Governments and are responsible for promotion of the ODL system in the State/ region, establishment,development, maintenance and monitoring of LSCs. Regional Centres are also responsible for thedelivery of programmes and student support services and organization of staff development programmes

The major activities of a Regional Centre can be broadly categorized as academic, administrative and promotional. The Regional Centres are responsible for the promotion of the Open University system; development, maintenance and monitoring of Study Centres and Student Support Services; and organisation of staff development programmes in the region, for training coordinators/counsellors/other functionaries.

Regional Centres, is the sub-office of the University for all practical purposes, and also intended to act as resource centre of the University in respective regions.
