This individual will play a critical role in providing insightful and comprehensive research to support our legal team and clients. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the law and a strong attention to detail.
Legal Researcher Responsibilities & Duties
- Conduct extensive legal research and analysis on complex legal issues
- Identify and analyze relevant laws, regulations, and case law
- Synthesize information and present findings in clear, concise, and easily understandable formats
- Provide support to attorneys in the preparation of legal briefs, pleadings, and other legal documents
- Assist with trial preparation, including preparing witness and exhibit lists
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and databases of legal information
- Stay current with changes and developments in the legal field
Legal Researcher Qualifications & Skills
- Prior experience in a legal research role
- Knowledge of specialized areas of law such as intellectual property or antitrust law
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to practice law in the jurisdiction in which the position is located or willingness to become licensed
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Knowledge of legal research databases such as LexisNexis and Westlaw
