In this book Jem and Scout start to get a different view on people of color. On chapters 17-20 They realize that people in maycomb are willing to kill somebody just because of their skin color and they oppose this. This may change students perspectives on other people because they may realize that treating people differently just because of their skin color is wrong. Now some people may say the opposite of this. That yes the book may change people’s perspectives but for the worse. The book makes white people seem very cruel and hateful people also in chapter 17-20. In the trial scenes the court case seems like it’ll end good for Tom, but when the jury returned their verdict was guilty. Even after atticus pretty much proved that Tom is One hundred percent innocent. Yes this may be true that the book makes white people look bad, but the book will more than likely change people’s perspectives about people of color more than on white people.
