Essay on An Ideal Teacher

Good teachers are very rare. They have a permanent impression upon the mind of their young students. An ideal teacher is not heaven born. He is earthy, but he possesses heavenly qualities of head and heart. I read in M.R.V. Sr. Sec. School, Delhi. There are 50 teachers in our school. All the teachers are honest and hardworking.

I respect all the teachers. But I like Shri R. Tiwari the most. He is my favourite teacher. He is an ideal teacher. He is a young man of 34 years. He is an M.Sc., B.Ed. He belongs to a noble family. He is very sweet and learned. He teaches us Mathematics. He is our class-incharge.

His way of teaching is very simple. He explains everything very clearly. He is the master of his subject. He develops a taste for reading and writing. He does not beat the weak students. Every student does his homework happily. All the students respect him very much. He has many good habits. He is an early bird. He goes out for a walk daily. He takes exercise regularly. He prays to God daily. He puts on neat and clean clothes. ‘Simple living and high thinking’ is the motto of his life. He is never late for school. He is tall, strong, healthy and handsome. He is active and smart. He is a good speaker and sportsman. After the school time he plays with us. He is a social worker. He always helps the poor and the needy. He is very polite. He is a man of character. All the students and teachers praise him. He is a gem among men. May he live long!

Diving deeper, essays can be categorized based on their focus and approach. From the vivid details of Descriptive essays to the storytelling charm of Narrative pieces; from the introspective journey of Reflective essays to the informative style of Expository writings, and the limitless realms of Imaginative essays. This chapter equips students with the skills to navigate through these diverse forms, enriching their writing repertoire.

The festival I like Most

Diwali is the most important festival of the Hindus. It means a “row of lamps”. It is a festival of lights. It is one of our most popular festivals. It generally comes off in the last week of October or in the first week of November. The Hindus celebrate this festival in the memory of Shri Ram Chandra’s return to Ayodhya after killing Ravana, the king of Lanka. Great preparations are made before the festival. Houses are cleaned, white-washed and decorated beautifully. Beautiful pictures, photos and calendars are hung in the rooms. Old things are replaced with new ones. The bazaars are over-crowded. The shops are well decorated. There is great rush at the sweets’ and toys’ shops. People buy sweets and toys. They send sweets and presents to their friends and relatives. At night the scene is very beautiful. The bazaars, shops and houses are lit with tiny bulbs. Earthen lamps (Diyas) and candles are in rows on the roofs of houses. Children enjoy fire works and crocker. Children look very happy on this day. The Goddess Laxmi is worshiped at night. But some people gamble on the day to try their luck. It is very bad. It must be stopped. Diwali is a festival of great rejoicings. So it should be celebrated joyfully.

If I Win a Lottery Prize

I want to earn money through hard work when I grow up. However, I know how I would use the money if I win a lottery prize, say, of 5 lakh rupees. First, I would give my friends and relatives a tea party. The menu would consist of the choicest sweets. Second, I would buy the best of clothes for my parents, brothers, sisters and myself. Third, I would buy a scooter, for it takes me a lot of time to travel on a cycle. Fourth, I would set up a library of my own. This would consist of the most interesting books for children. The boys and girls of my locality would be free to borrow these books and read them. All this would cost me about thirty thousand rupees.

I would deposit one lakh in a post office under some useful saving scheme. This would yield me the necessary funds for my higher education. Sixth, I would give the remaining amount to my parents so that they may build a house. At present, they do no have enough money to build one. We have been living in rented houses all our lives. Some landlords have been very good while others have been painfully bad. So we feel that there is nothing like having one’s own house. Well all these plans depend upon my winning a lottery prize!

essay for class vii

By seventh grade, students should be refining the core writing skills of brainstorming , researching, outlining, drafting, and revising. In order to hone these skills, seventh-grade students need regular practice writing a variety of essay styles, including narrative, persuasive, expository , and creative essays. The following essay prompts offer age-appropriate starting points to help seventh graders flex their writing muscles.

Narrative Essay Writing Prompts

Narrative essays share a personal experience to tell a story, usually to make a point rather than merely to entertain. These narrative essay prompts encourage students to describe and reflect on a story that's meaningful to them.

Here’s a look at questions about Tim Walz’s military record

Walz’s military record under scrutiny as Vance, GOP question his service

CINCINNATI (AP) — Republicans are questioning Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s military record after Vice President Kamala Harris named him as her running mate this week.

Here’s a look at the issue:

He retired before his unit’s deployment to Iraq

Walz served a total of 24 years in various units and jobs in the Army National Guard. But it’s his retirement in 2005 that’s prompting criticism from some Republicans who are suggesting he abandoned his team to pursue a campaign for Congress.

As he ramped up for a congressional bid in 2005, Walz’s campaign in March issued a statement saying he still planned to run despite a possible mobilization of Minnesota National Guard soldiers to Iraq. According to the Guard, Walz retired from service in May of that year.

In August 2005, the Department of the Army issued a mobilization order for Walz’s unit. The unit mobilized in October of that year before it deployed to Iraq in March 2006 .

There is no evidence that Walz timed his departure with the intent of avoiding deployment. But the fact remains that he left ahead of his unit’s departure. In a statement, the Harris campaign pushed back on GOP characterizations of Walz’s service, and also noted that he advocated for veterans once he was elected to the U.S. House.

“After 24 years of military service, Governor Walz retired in 2005 and ran for Congress, where he chaired Veterans Affairs and was a tireless advocate for our men and women in uniform — and as Vice President of the United States he will continue to be a relentless champion for our veterans and military families,” the campaign said.

Before leaving Detroit, where she and Walz played up their support for organized labor , Harris on Thursday responded to a question about the criticism of her running mate’s record.

“Listen, I praise anyone who has presented themselves to serve our country,” she said. “And I think that we all should.”

Walz didn’t serve in a combat zone

Earlier this week Harris’ campaign circulated on X a 2018 clip of Walz speaking out against gun violence, and saying, “We can make sure that those weapons of war, that I carried in war, is the only place where those weapons are at.” That comment suggests that Walz portrayed himself as someone who spent time in a combat zone.

According to the Nebraska Army National Guard, Walz enlisted in April 1981 — just two days after his 17th birthday — and entered service as an infantryman, completing a 12-week Army infantry basic training course before graduating from high school.

While attending the University of Houston in 1985, he was reclassified as a field artillery cannoneer as a member of the Texas Army National Guard, later serving as an instructor with the Arkansas Army National Guard.

In 1987, Walz returned to Nebraska’s Guard detachment, continuing field artillery assignments while he completed a college degree. By 1996, he transferred to the Minnesota Army National Guard. In 2003, he deployed to Italy in a support position of active military forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. But he was not in a combat zone himself.

“Do not pretend to be something that you’re not,” Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance said Wednesday as he campaigned in Michigan. “I’d be ashamed if I was saying that I lied about my military service like you did.”

Vance enlisted in the Marine Corps after graduating high school, serving four years as a combat correspondent, a type of military journalist, and deploying to Iraq in that capacity in 2005.

Neither Trump nor Harris has served in the U.S. military. Trump received a series of deferments during Vietnam, including one attained with a physician’s letter stating that he suffered from bone spurs in his feet.

The Harris campaign statement said Walz “would never insult or undermine any American’s service to this country” and “thanks Senator Vance for putting his life on the line for our country. It’s the American way.”

What about his rank?

Harris’ campaign has referred to Walz as a “retired Command Sergeant Major,” one of the top ranks for an enlisted soldier. He did in fact achieve that rank, but personnel files show he was reduced in rank months after retiring. That left him as a master sergeant for benefits purposes.

Minnesota National Guard officials have said that Walz retired before completing coursework at the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy, along with other requirements associated with his promotion.

Associated Press writers Darlene Superville, Trenton Daniel and Richard Lardner contributed to this report.

Unseen Passage for Class 7 English – Passage 2

Watching is meditation. What you watch is irrelevant. You can watch the trees, you can watch the river, you can watch the clouds, you can watch children playing around. Watching is meditation. What you watch is not the point; the object is not the point. The quality of observation, the quality of being aware and alert – that’s what meditation is. Remember one thing; meditation means awareness. Whatsoever you do with awareness is meditation. Action is not the question, but the quality that you bring to your action is. Walking can be a meditation if you walk alert. Sitting can be a meditation if you sit alert. Listening to the birds can be a meditation if you listen with awareness. Just listening to the inner voice of your mind can be a meditation if you remain alert and watchful. The whole point is one should not move in sleep. Then whatever you do is meditation.

The first step in awareness is to be very watchful of your body. Slowly, one becomes alert about each gesture, and each movement. And as you become aware, a miracle starts happening; many things that you used to do before simply disappear; your body becomes more relaxed, your body becomes more attuned. A deep peace starts prevailing even in your body; subtle music pulsates in your body. Then, start becoming aware of your thoughts; the same has to be done with emotions; you will be surprised at what goes on inside you. If you write down whatever is going on at any moment, you are in for a great surprise. You will not believe that this is what is going on inside you. And ten minutes later, read it – you will see a mad mind inside! Because we are not aware, this whole madness goes on running like an undercurrent. It affects whatsoever you are doing; it affects everything. And the sum total of it is going to be your life! So this madman has to be changed. And the miracle of awareness is that you need not do anything except just become aware. The very phenomenon of watching it changes it. Slowly the madman disappears, and slowly the thoughts start falling into a certain pattern; their chaos is no more; they become more of the cosmos. And then again, a deeper peace prevails. And when your body and your mind are at peace, you will see that they are attuned to each other, too; there is a bridge. Now they are not running in different directions; they are not riding different horses. For the first time, there is an accord, and that accord helps immensely to work on the third step, which is becoming aware of your feelings, emotions, and moods. That is the subtlest layer and the most difficult, but if you can be aware of the thoughts, then it is just one more step. A little more intense awareness is needed, and you start reflecting on your moods, your emotions and your feelings. Once you are aware of all these three, they all become joined into one phenomenon. And when all these three are one, functioning together perfectly, humming together, you can feel the music of all the three; they have become an orchestra – then the fourth happens, which you cannot do. It happens on accord. It is a gift from the whole; it is a reward for those who have done these three. And the fourth is the ultimate awareness that makes one awakened. One becomes aware of one’s awareness – that is the fourth. That makes a Buddha awakened. And only in that awakening does one come to know what bliss is. The body knows pleasure, the mind knows happiness, the heart knows joy, and the fourth knows bliss. Bliss is the goal of sannyas, of being a seeker, and awareness is the path towards it.

Unseen Passage for Class 7 English – Passage 3

Nepal, a small, mountainous country tucked between India and China, may seem completely foreign to many Americans. Cows walk down busy streets unharmed, 24 different languages are spoken, and people eat two meals of rice and lentils every day. Nepali holidays, many of which are related to the Hindu religion, can seem especially bizarre to Americans unfamiliar with the culture. However, if we look beyond how others celebrate to consider the things they are celebrating, we find surprising similarities to our own culture.

The biggest holiday in Nepal is Dashain, a ten-day festival for the Hindu goddess Durga that takes place in September or October. According to Hindu beliefs, Durga defeated the evil demons of the world. To thank the goddess, people visit temples in her honour and sacrifice goats or sheep as offerings. Throughout the year, most Nepalis do not eat much meat because it is expensive, but Dashain is a time to enjoy meat every day. Children fly colourful, homemade kites during Dashain. People also construct enormous bamboo swings on street corners and in parks. Every evening people gather at these swings and take turns swinging. Nepalis say that by swinging, people can relieve the earth of their weight, if only for a few minutes out of the year. Dashain is a time for people to eat good food, relax, and enjoy themselves!

Aside from eating and enjoying themselves, during Dashain, people also receive blessings from their elders. Schools and offices shut down so people can travel to be with their families. Reuniting with family reminds people of the importance of kindness, respect, and forgiveness. People also clean and decorate their homes for Dashain. And, like many holidays in the United States, it is a time for shopping. Children and adults alike get new clothes for the occasion. People express appreciation for all that they have while looking forward to good fortune and peace in the year to come.

During American holidays, people may not sacrifice goats or soar on bamboo swings, but we do often travel to be with family members and take time off work or school to relax. No matter how we celebrate, many people around the world spend their holidays honouring family, reflecting on their blessings, and hoping for good fortune in the future.

Answer the following questions carefully after reading the above passage:

Q1) According to the passage, Hindus believe that the goddess Durga (1 Mark)

A. sacrifices goats and sheep

B. defeated the evil demons of the world

C. visits temples

D. enjoys meat every day

Q2) As used in paragraph 1, bizarre most nearly means? (1 Mark)

A. unbelievable

Q3) Both the colourful kites and bamboo swings are used as examples of? (1 Mark)

A. ways people relax and enjoy themselves during Dashain.

B. things people honour and reflect on during Dashain.

C. offerings to the goddess Durga.

D. ways people reunite with family during Dashain.

Q4) Which of the following sentences from the passage best indicates why the author thinks Nepal would seem very foreign to many Americans? (1 Mark)

A. “Cows walk down busy streets unharmed, 24 different languages are spoken, and people eat two meals of rice and lentils every day.”

B. “Every evening, people gather at these swings and take turns swinging.”

C. “People also clean and decorate their homes for Dashain.”

D. “During American holidays, people may not sacrifice goats or soar on bamboo swings, but we do often travel to be with family members and take time off work or school to relax.”

Q5) The author suggests that although people in different cultures celebrate holidays differently, one similarity is that many people? (1 Mark)

A. ask for blessings from their elders during holidays

B. agree that holidays reveal a lot about a culture

C. believe that holidays must be celebrated

D. think of holidays as a time to spend with their families

Democrats Have Needed Someone Like Tim Walz for Decades

Tim Walz speaking at a lectern with a large American flag in the background.

By Sarah Smarsh

Ms. Smarsh is a journalist and the author of the forthcoming book “Bone of the Bone: Essays on America by a Daughter of the Working Class.”

Sometimes on our farm a nice car would roll up the gravel driveway and a man in a slick suit would get out. He would either be trying to sell us something overpriced that we’d never buy, because of our limited means and common sense, or trying to buy something we’d never sell — namely land, about which my grandfather said, “You don’t get rid of it, because they don’t make any more of it.”

This man would shake our hands before driving off.

“Better count your fingers,” Grandpa Arnie would tell us and laugh.

I’ve shared the story before to explain the gulf I’ve long felt between the essence of the rural white working poor who raised me — honest, flawed people who would welcome just about anyone into our home but a liar — and the red-hatted-fool avatar they’ve been assigned in national discourse.

What a relief, then, to see emerge on the national stage the Minnesota governor and Democratic vice-presidential candidate Tim Walz, who embodies the earnest, humane, rural people who shaped me and the prairie populism that shaped the progressive foundations of the Great Plains.

Mr. Walz went to a state college, taught public high school and went into government — more than a couple of class rungs above my grandfather, who in the 1940s left school after sixth grade to work the Kansas wheat fields with his German American dad.

But when Mr. Walz smiles and his eyes disappear into a good-natured squint — say, while holding a piglet like a baby at a state fair — I see Grandpa Arnie.

Internet Essay

Internet essay in english for class 7 students.

Vedantu knows the very fact that computers are introduced to students at a very tender age. And, by the time these students reach Class 7, they are fine-tuned with the usage of both computers as well as the internet. Now, Vedantu was about to prepare an essay on the internet for the students of grade 7. Right from that moment, our research started on how the plotting of the entire essay will be done. Then, the conclusion was in front of our digital team that these students must be educated with all the pointers but yes, the selection of language will be according to their grade and age. It was planned to make them informed about the internet application in different fields. They must be aware of the areas such as education, commerce, entertainment, games, research, shopping, science, advertising, social media, and much more.

Let’s take a Glimpse at the Draft of the Essay prepared by the Vedantu’s Teachers

The essay on “the Internet”, has been drafted by our mentors at Vedantu to help you experience it more helpfully. These are inducted in a very structured and organized way for you to grasp the main features quickly. You can also download the essay which is available in PDF format. You can go through the essay and get in touch with them directly by visiting Vedantu's official website to clear all your doubts or concerns.

“I am very much excited about having the internet in my den” These words of the legend Steve Jobs inspired many new entrepreneurs to stick with the internet. In 1973, the United States Department of Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency linked research facilities and universities within the U.S. later on. In 1983 the internet was released to the entire world. We must not misguide ourselves, the internet and network are the same terminologies. The internet is a type of network. ‘The net’ is a popular nickname for the internet. Some people even used to call it ‘networks of the network’. Information, sending mails, live video callings and messages became easier with this electronic vehicle. The internet has brought the world closer together. The Internet is a means of connecting computers to any other electronic smart device anywhere in the world via servers and routers. Billions of physical electronic devices around the world are sharing and collecting data are connected with the help of the internet. This is known as the ‘Internet of Things’. Light Bulbs that can be easily switched off using a Smartphone from a distance is the best example of Iot.

The mention of new technologies such as the internet of things, wearables, smart cars, and ways with which our computers and home devices are connected will grab more attention of the grade 7 students. They are in the learning phase and they are more curious to know regarding all these smart actions than the students who have already gained knowledge about these things. This is their keen interest that will encourage them to learn and write a wonderful essay on the internet. Vedantu tutors have primarily considered the ease of language for the students of Class 7 so that they can grab well as well as score high.

The Internet is a highway of education. It is beneficial for students in primary schools to the philosophers. The Internet plays a library role by providing daily updates, references books, different approaches to reach the solutions, theories of great mathematicians and many more. The Internet could prove essential media in various daily activities. Seeking information from anywhere across the globe, conducting group activities, online transactions and uncountable tasks executed within a fraction of seconds. The Internet assists job seekers. Descriptions of various theories are simplified for innovators and explorers. Moreover, the patent filing is simplified so that it can be filed at any place, anywhere. The Internet is economically pleasant as the cost for net handling is cheaper than other communication means. All mobile companies are eager to provide internet services at the lowest possible cost. Simply typing a question on a search engine is enough; thousands of websites are opened within a blink of an eye with 3Gs and 4Gs.

This will again be an interesting topic for the students in Class 7 as it is quite fun for them to use features of the internet like artificial intelligence. They will be more interested in knowing how the use of 3 and 4G opens the websites in a fraction of seconds. Plus, Vedantu has also made them aware of the GPS services via this essay. All these things are in the trend today and this will surely help them gain their knowledge as well as their score. Not only in writing, with this material, they can also participate in different written and oral essay competitions where they are bound to gain the best due to fresh knowledge and conveying their message in a simple format.

Have you ever gone outside and surveyed the shortest route from one place to the other? You don't even need that since the internet assists you with GPS services for a convenient solution for your problem. The excellent use of the internet is done by the hostile student. Booking a ticket at zero hours is possible with desired bus services. Furthermore, they can quench their hunger by ordering food online. Furthermore, The Internet encourages promoters to enlarge their business.

The Internet is a need of an era. But, we must not neglect the second side of the coin. The internet can be as deadly as a double-edged sword. People waste their whole day on social media activities. The students are so reliant on the internet that they became too lazy to read a whole book. The world is getting closer to the internet but people are going farther.

FAQs on Internet Essay

1. Can you use up all your WiFi?

The amount of WiFi you can use depends on your broadband data allowance. If you're utilising WiFi in a public or a commonplace, you can typically use as abundant data as you require. Some areas such as hotels, charge you for WiFi access and restrict you to a particular amount of data per day. In a crux, your data requirements will be more in a big service area but if you are using it for individual usage, then you are not going to finish it in one or two days provided you are not making big downloads by using your WiFi.

2. What uses upload data?

Uploading means data is being transferred from your processor to the Internet. Examples of uploading involve sending out an email, attaching photos on a social media site and using your webcam. Even snapping on a link on a web surface sends a little data upload. Downloading means your processor is receiving data from the Internet. Now, you must be wondering that you are using it in your daily activities but you were not aware of the technical term for it. Thus, you can also make this a part of your internet essay.

3. What are the benefits of the Internet?

The major benefits of internet usages are:

Information, knowledge, and learning

Connectivity, communication, and sharing

Address, mapping, and contact information

Banking, bills, and shopping

Selling and making money

Work from home, collaboration and access to a global workforce

Donations and funding

Entertainment

These are the few advantages of the internet but the list of its benefits is growing rapidly. From the lockdown times, the internet has also managed education as well. The kids might not be interacting and learning from their teachers without the availability of the internet. And, this has taught the kids that they need to manage their curriculum on their own.

4. What are the disadvantages of the internet?

The major disadvantage of internet usages are:

Bullying, trolls, stalkers, and crime

Pornographic and violent images

Addiction, time-waster, and causes distractions

Never being able to disconnect from work

Identity theft, hacking, viruses, and cheating

Spam and advertising

Affects focus and patience

Depression, loneliness, and social isolation.

The purpose of sharing disadvantages of the internet must be to educate the students that excess of anything is bad for them. If they use the internet, they should access their good sides and abandon the bad ones.

5. Is an essay on the Internet by Vedantu set according to the grade 7 students?

Vedantu teachers are from a specific background and they know that students of grade 7 must have learnt many technicalities about the internet. So, with the essay, Vedantu has tried to gain their knowledge regarding the trends usage of the internet such as artificial intelligence, IoT (Internet of Things), smart devices, smart cards, wearables, and much more. The knowledge imparted is abundant but we have taken special care to avoid jargon and cliches usage considering the level of Class 7 students.
