Known as the “Ninth Wonder of the World,” Joanie Lee Laurer transcended all traditional boundaries of what a female could accomplish in Sports Entertainment. As a child, Joanie had dreams of being someone special. As Chyna, Joanie took the WWE by storm. From day one, Chyna was unique. Debuting as a bodyguard for the men who made up the legendary faction “Degeneration X” she made an immediate and lasting impact on the industry. She remains the only women in history to ever win the highly coveted WWE Intercontinental Championship. Her fame transcended sports entertainment but led her down a path of addiction and tragedy that ended her life too soon.

The Big Red Machine known as Kane was an indestructible monster that terrorized the WWE from the moment of his legendary debut at Hell in a Cell. Portrayed as the sadistic evil brother of the legendary Undertaker–Kane struck fear throughout the WWE Universe for decades. The man who portrays this beastly leviathan in actuality is Glenn Jacobs, a soft-spoken husband and father of two daughters who turned in his wrestling tights to become mayor of Knoxville County in Tennessee. In WWE, the Kane / Undertaker rivalry is considered to be the best story ever told in WWE history–in real life, the story of the man Glenn Jacobs is a stark contrast to the monster he embodied for so many years.

Jerry Lawler

Jerry “The King” Lawler is a once-in-a-lifetime Superstar whose career spanned generations. As he celebrates the 50th anniversary of his first match, Lawler looks back at his unlikely journey to the top of sports entertainment. From headlining sold-out shows in Memphis, to a wild appearance with comedian Andy Kaufman on Late Night with David Letterman, Lawler didn’t disappoint. He eventually made his way to the WWE, where ‘The King of Wrestling’ became the soundtrack of the Attitude Era on the commentary desk. This one-hour Biography features Lawler like never before as he openly discusses his personal life as well as his near-death experience on live television a decade ago.

While overcoming fears, injuries and struggles with self-worth, Paige became the youngest women’s champion in WWE history. Paige’s story was so incredible that she was the inspiration for the film Fighting with my Family. She candidly discusses her mental health struggles, including her rock bottom moment after an online leak spread throughout the internet. Paige discusses how she has overcome those challenges and continues to blaze a trail for women in sports entertainment.

Charlotte Flair is currently one of WWE’s biggest Superstars. She is in the midst of creating an unmatched legacy in women’s wrestling history, but it hasn’t been easy, especially with the added pressure of being the daughter of The Nature Boy Ric Flair. Growing up, Charlotte didn’t have aspirations to be a WWE Superstar, instead she displayed her athletic ability in other sports. That changed following the death of her younger brother, Reid. In this Biography, Charlotte opens up about coping with that tragedy, self-doubt, and her journey to becoming a WWE main event star.

Rodney Anoa’i was a high school dropout who needed direction and purpose. That’s when Rodney joined the family business in World Wrestling Entertainment. After exploding on to the scene in 1992, the 500 pound giant became “Yokozuna”, and quickly skyrocketed to WWE superstardom as he battled legends Hulk Hogan, The Undertaker and Bret “Hitman” Hart. In the ring, he became the top villain in the industry but outside the ring, Rodney was a lovable family man who always helped his friends. In 2000, the size and stature that made him a star ultimately took his life when he died suddenly at the age of 34. Yokozuna remains one of the greatest “big men” in WWE history, and his legacy lives on through his children, Justin and Keilani, as well as the grandson with his namesake, Rodney.

Dusty Rhodes

Growing-up in East Austin, Texas–Virgil Riley Runnels, Jr. always had an outsized vision of the possibilities for himself. An innate ability to navigate loss and create opportunity set him on a path to discovering- or actually becoming–The American Dream. As the most relatable and charismatic wrestler of all-time, he earned titles and the adoration of a diverse fan base. His iconic rivalry and promos with Ric Flair set the path for an entire industry and as a booker/producer he created many of the wrestling events still happening today including War Games, Starrcade and The Great American Bash. For Dusty, the traditional trade-offs of fame over family were never acceptable and for the first time-ever, Dusty Rhodes’ four children collaborate to tell the story of their father. It’s their story that suggests Dusty’s most significant accomplishment had nothing to do with wrestling.

The “Iron Sheik” is one of the most iconic villains in WWE history–but the arduous journey of the man, Hossein Khosrow Vaziri has never been told. This one-time bodyguard for the Shah of Iran, escaped his country in fear for his life. Without the ability to speak any English at all, he somehow transformed himself into one of the most hated and beloved characters of all time. As the “Iron Sheik” he represented the ultimate threat but Khosrow was living the American Dream along with his beautiful wife and daughters. But, despite the fame and fortune, struggles with addiction and family tragedy all played a part of his incredible story.
