• Securing 50% and above but less than 60% marks in aggregate in Madhyamik or equivalent examination/Higher Secondary or equivalent examination for financial assistance in Higher Secondary level/Under Graduate level respectively.
• Securing 50% and above but less than 53% marks in aggregate in Graduation for assistance at the graduate level.
• Yearly family income does not exceed Rs. 1,20,000/- only.
• Not enjoying any Government/Non-Government scholarship/stipend for the same course/stage of study.

Step 5: –   After that Fill in the education course details such as the current course, name of the board/university, last qualification examination (10/12) details, total marks, etc., and Enter your bank details such as bank name, account number, IFSC code, and then click submit.

Step 6: – Upload the necessary documents such as a photograph, recommendation/income certificate, self-declaration, class 10 admit card, mark sheet, admission receipt copy, etc.

• Mark Sheet of qualifying examination (for assistance in H.S. Level the qualifying examination is Madhyamik or equivalent; for assistance in U.G. Level the qualifying examination is H.S. or equivalent and for assistance in P.G. Level the qualifying examination is Graduation)
• Rank card of the entrance examination for professional courses like Diploma Eng. / B.E. / B.Tech. / MBBS / Law / Nursing / Pharmacy
• Allotment letter for admission to above said professional courses
• The first page of the Pass Book of the applicant’s active savings Bank Account where A/c. No., IFSC No. and the Account Holder’s Name is clearly visible

• Domicile: The students should be permanent residents of West Bengal.
• a total of 50% or more but less than 60% marks in aggregate in the Madhyamik (Class 10) examination for the +2 level.
• a total of 50% or more but less than 60% marks in the Higher Secondary (Class 12) examination for the undergraduate level.
• a total of 50% or more but less than 53% marks in Graduation for the postgraduate level.
• Income: The annual income of the student’s family should not be more than INR 1,20,000.
• Other: The candidates must not be in receipt of any other government (central/state) scholarship or stipend for the same course or stage of study during the last year.

• আবেদনকারী ছাত্র বা ছাত্রীকে অবশ্যই পশ্চিমবঙ্গের স্থায়ী বাসিন্দা হতে হবে।
• পশ্চিমবঙ্গের যেকোনো বোর্ড, কাউন্সিল, বা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে মাধ্যমিক, উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক, বা সমমানের পরীক্ষায় উত্তীর্ণ হওয়ার পর, রাজ্যের যেকোনো শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানে অধ্যয়ন করতে হবে।

• Copy of monthly family income certificate from DM/SDO/BDO/Group-A Govt. Officer not below the rank of Joint B.D.O./Deputy Commissioner of Corporation/ Executive Officer in case of Municipality
• Self-declaration of the student regarding his/her present course of study mentioning year/semester and receipt of any scholarship/aid/assistance countersigned by the head of the present institution with seal.

Note: The photocopies of all the documents are required to be attested by a Group-A Government officer.

Selection Process and Funds Disbursement

• The selection of students for this scholarship scheme will be based on two primary criteria: their percentage of marks obtained in the last examination and their family’s financial condition. Once the application form is submitted, the process of evaluation and verification may take approximately three or more months to complete.
• The scholarship requests will be thoroughly examined by the CMRF Cell of the Chief Minister’s Office. In some cases, the application may be forwarded to the respective District Magistrate or Commissioner of Police, Kolkata, for further verification and assessment.
• The selected students will receive the scholarship amount in their respective bank accounts.

Note: The sanctioning of financial help is a one-time grant and is provisional. The authority can cancel the prior sanction anytime without giving any reason thereon.

Nabanna Scholarship 2023-24:  Nabanna Scholarship (নবান্ন স্কলারশিপ) is an action taken by the Government of West Bengal that strives in offering education to the worthy and needy students who desire to proceed with their studies. The scholarship will be given only to those pupils who will fulfill the eligibility criteria. The scholarship will be granted to the students carrying the domicile of West Bengal. The enrollment will be done offline for which students can find the link here. Elected candidates will be holding the rewards of this scheme. This scholarship provides an amount of Rs 10000/- per year on the student’s current course and it differs course to course.

This Scholarship is granted under Chief Minister Relief Fund for the learners who are merit listed and aspire to pursue their higher education. With the help of this scholarship, the government of West Bengal is producing an initiative to improve the education of the students who are prompt to take their higher education to the level where they can fulfill their dreams. Only students who are applying for Post Graduation, graduation must be 12th Pass and for Higher secondary classes students must be Madhyamik or Class 10th passed out.

Nabanna Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

• The candidate should be a resident of West Bengal.
• The scholars can study in any institution of State after passing out the State Board/Council of Secondary Education or a State-aided university in West Bengal.

Nabanna Scholarship Reward Amount

All the application forms received will be sent for verification to the District Magistrate of the commissioner of police, Kolkata for inquiry and then the scholarship reward will be approved only once. Nabanna Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

Nabanna scholarship is granted to the brilliant students who are domiciles of West Bengal by the Chief Minister of West Bengal. Nabanna scholarship eligibility criteria is summarised in the following points.

• The students should be domiciled in West Bengal .
• The candidate applying must have cleared the last examination from a recognized board or the University of West Bengal.
• The minimum marks obtained by the candidate in the previous exam should be 50% but less than 60% aggregate in class 10 for the +2 level.
• The student should have secured 50% or above for the undergraduate level but less than 60% in class 12 .
• The student should have secured 50% or above but less than 53% marks in graduation for the postgraduate level.
• The annual family income of the applicant must be below or equal to INR 1,20,000
• The candidates must not be receiving any other kind of remuneration in terms of central or state government scholarship, stipend, etc., for the current course or study level during the last year.

• Students pursuing Undergraduate Courses  – Students who are currently pursuing an Undergraduate Course can apply for the Nabanna Scholarship in any year. The scholarship application can be submitted based on the H.S. Examination (Class 12).
• Students  pursuing Postgraduate Courses  – Students who are studying Post Graduate can apply for the Nabanna Scholarship based on the Undergraduate Examination (U.G.).

• A Resident of West Bengal : Students who are permanent residents of West Bengal will be eligible for the Nabanna Scholarship. At the time of registration, a valid Residential Certificate or Domicile Certificate has to be submitted.
• Annual Family Income : The student’s annual family income should not be more than INR 60,000 per year to apply for the Scholarship. A valid Income Certificate has to be submitted during the registration.
• Studying in West Bengal’s Education Institutes : The student applying for the Nabanna Scholarship should be studying in any educational institute of West Bengal. Students studying in West Bengal State Board Schools and West Bengal State-aided Universities are also eligible for the Nabanna Scholarship.
• The student should not be a beneficiary of any other Scholarship Scheme : If the student receives monetary aid from any other Scholarship Scheme of any State Government or the Central Government, he or she will not be eligible for the Nabanna Scholarship for the same year.

Education Qualification Required (Minimum Marks)

In addition to the Eligibility Criteria mentioned above, a student will have to fulfill the below-mentioned Education Qualification to receive the Scholarship:

• For H.S. (Class 11 & Class 12) Level – At least 65% aggregate in Madhyamik Examination (Class 10).
• For Undergraduate (UG) Level – At least 60% aggregate in S. Examination (Class 12).
• For Postgraduate (P.G.) Level – At least 55% aggregate in Honours Subject of Undergraduate Examination (U.G.).

The Selection Process of the Scholarship is supervised by the Chief Minister’s Office of West Bengal. Students who fulfill all the eligibility criteria will be entitled to receive the Scholarship. The money is directly transferred to the beneficiaries’ bank account.

How to Apply ? (Step by Step Process)

First of all, you need to check whether you fulfill the eligibility criteria to obtain the Scholarship. If you satisfy the eligibility criteria, follow the steps mentioned below to apply for this scholarship.

1. What are the eligibility criteria for the Nabanna Scholarship Scheme? Students who are permanent residents of West Bengal and are studying in either H.S. 3. Can I check the status of the Scholarship Online? No, you can’t check the Nabanna Scholarship status online. As this process is entirely offline, you won’t be able to track the status of your application online.

4. Can I send the Application Form of Nabanna Scholarship via Speed Post? Yes, you can. But it is better not to send the Application Form via Speed Post. When you send the Application form through registered post, you will receive a signed receipt from the WB CMO authority, and the receipt number is required for future references.  In the case of Speed Post, you will not receive any receipt.

5. Can I apply for the Nabanna Scholarship if I have applied for any other Scholarship? No. If you have applied for any other Scholarship under any State Government or the Central Government, you will not be eligible to apply for the Nabanna Scholarship.

6. When will I receive the  Scholarship Amount? If you are selected, you will receive the Nabanna Scholarship Amount within 4 to 8 months.

7. What is the procedure for the Renewal of Nabanna Scholarship? Each student can apply only once for the Nabanna Scholarship. Hence there is no option for renewal ofthis scholarship scheme.

Nabanna Scholarship 2022-23: Nabanna Scholarship (নবান্ন স্কলারশিপ) is an action taken by the Government of West Bengal that strives in offering education to the worthy and needy students who desire to proceed with their studies. The scholarship will be given only to those pupils who will fulfill the eligibility criteria. The scholarship will be granted to the students carrying the domicile of West Bengal.
