Your opportunity:  

We are currently seeking cleaners for Permanent Full-time and Casual positions. In this role, you'll ensure high-quality cleaning, presentation, and minor maintenance for the Regional Rollingstock Fleet, facilities, and equipment.

We're looking for highly organized and adaptable individuals who excel in a fast-paced environment. Day-to-day responsibilities of this role will include, but are not limited to;

• Provide high quality and efficient presentation, cleaning and minor maintenance of the Regional Rollingstock Fleet 
• Record information on repairs, presentation work and materials used accurately
• Carry out all work observing all relevant safety and environmental requirements
• Perform all other associated duties and functions necessary for the efficient operation of the depot including depot housekeeping and cleaning
• Work with other Train Presentation Attendants and trade staff in a team-based environment

• Cleaning experience desirable but not essential as training will be provided
• Ability to work autonomously and as a part of a high performing team
• Self-starter - able to identify work that needs to be done and do it without being instructed to do so.
• Have an eye for detail
• Use of basic hand power tools is advantageous
• Physically fit and able to spend long durations completing laborious tasks
• Ability to successfully pass Drug and Alcohol screening and Medical assessments

Role hours:

Casual employees will be required to work every Monday and Saturday between 6am-6pm. There will also be opportunity for you to pick up extra shifts when required. 

Full time employees will work on a roster covering Monday- Saturday between the hours 6am-6pm.

We are therefore looking to recruit a Cleaner to be based across various locations within the network. We are searching for four Traincare professionals, located near to Liverpool Street station, who ideally have experience working in a rail setting and is happy working in shifts. As part of the fleet traincare team, you will carry out cleaning duties across our trains and platforms, in accordance with a laid down specification in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner. You will also be responsible for consistently seeking to improve the service quality to the best of your ability. Working towards all Traction and Rolling Stock engineering, occupational health & safety, loss control and quality standards, schedules and practices. You will also be responsible for ensuring that your place of work and facilities are kept clean and in good order. Reporting any defects found on rolling stock whilst also undertaking cleaning duties to your Train Care Supervisor or Fleet Maintenance Team Leader. Undertaking on board cleaning tasks, turnaround cleaning within a customer focussed environment. Customer orientated professional who has an understanding how vital the traincare team is for the London Overground. Any past cleaning and maintenance experience, ideally cleaning for vehicles but not essential. Experience in working as part of a team. Communication skills both written and verbal.

As a Train Presentation Operative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our trains are maintained to the highest standards, meeting both safety and compliance regulations and our passengers' expectations.

Role Responsibility

• Internal cleaning task according to the cleaning manual including biohazard removal, adhering to safety protocols. Foster a customer -centric approach, creating a positive and welcoming environment for passengers by attentively maintaining cleanliness, restocking supplies and promptly addressing any issues in toilets, including CET and tanking. 
• Conduct comprehensive external cleaning, which encompasses tasks such as graffiti removal.
• Optionally, participate in fatality cleaning when required, offering additional benefits and allowing individuals to choose their involvement while maintaining a compassionate and professional approach. 
• Prepare trains for seasonal conditions by executing winterisation procedures, conducting sanding operations to enhance traction and safety, and ensuring optimal fluid levels, including replenishing screen wash and anti-ice fluids to the trains. 
• Assist with Depot/Sidings winterisation including application of anti-ice/de-icing products to walkways and roadways, conductor rails (under isolation) and snow clearance.
