Your Kingdom Encounter, Alignment and Assignment

Encounter, alignment, assignment: will you join the king.

Kingdom of God Manifesting

For a long time, Narnia has been under the rule of an evil witch, who has placed the land under a spell so that it is ‘always winter.’ But now, there are signs and stirrings of a higher power, a greater Kingdom at work.

Ice is melting, and spring flowers and bulbs are appearing. Not only is the landscape changing, there is new hope amongst the inhabitants—because where the King walks, the power of darkness is broken.

Suddenly, there are rumours going out: ‘Aslan is on the move!’ And Aslan’s followers are gathering to follow their King.

It is a vivid picture, and one that illustrates the Kingdom of God becoming manifest.

  • So, what does the Kingdom of God invading the darkness look like in your family life, your work or ministry life?
  • What could this look like in your region: your places of education, government, business, your own neighbourhood?

Imagine people who have been spiritually frozen, their hearts hard and disinterested, now warming up and melting. People who are encountering the King and His Kingdom and as a result, they can no longer ignore the reality of God and His love for them.

It’s time to catch a vision. It’s time to start announcing that God is here, that the King and His Kingdom are here. It’s time to wake up to the fact that we can participate in what He is doing and no longer have to put up with the status quo. Because Jesus is here, and He is on the move.

It’s time to draw near to Jesus, to become intimately acquainted with the King , to align ourselves with Him and His cause.

And there is still more.

As the story of Narnia unfolds, Aslan’s followers are now confronted with the next phase of their decision to follow the King. It is time for battle—to take up arms and to fight, so that the rightful King can take his place on the throne. [1]

Kingdom Encounter, Alignment and Assignment

There are three levels of Kingdom engagement—ways in which we participate with King Jesus and His Kingdom, that are portrayed so well in C.S. Lewis’ story. These levels are Encounter, Alignment and Assignment.

1. Kingdom Encounter

“The time has come… The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!” (Mark 1:15)

An encounter implies a confrontation, coming face to face with someone or something. It may be an unexpected meeting.

Kingdom encounter takes place when people are confronted with the reality of Jesus, His Kingship, and the rule of God. They see the evidence first hand, through Divine interventions that can only be explained by the power of God. They also have the opportunity to hear the Gospel message.

In the Gospels, Jesus went about exercising authority over disease and demons, as well as over the laws of nature. In His lavish demonstration of Father’s love for people, Jesus showed us that the ministry of encounter is for every person. Encounter is the calling card of the Kingdom, saying ‘The King is here and you are invited to believe and join Him.’

2. Kingdom Alignment

“Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.” (Luke 9:23)

Alignment speaks of arranging and positioning according to a standard.  Kingdom Alignment takes place as we choose to follow Jesus and become His disciples. It speaks of submitting to the King’s rule in our lives.

As we see so vividly in the Gospels, not everyone who encounters Jesus and experiences His power chooses to take the next step to believe in and follow Him.

Alignment is not a one-off decision, it consists of ongoing life transformation. As we journey, we have the opportunity to continue calibrating our lives to God’s Word and His ways. The Father’s goal is that we become like Jesus. (Rom 8:29)   Our motivation is not one of religious performance, but arises from our love for Jesus, our honour for Him, and is our heart’s response to His grace.

Alignment also speaks of positioning for Father’s purpose for our lives.

3. Kingdom Assignment

‘Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”’ (John 20:21-22)

Assignment speaks of being given a role and a task to accomplish. Kingdom Assignment is our opportunity to participate with Jesus in the extension of His Kingdom. As royal sons and daughters, we exercise His authority in His Name. (Acts 3:16)

We are on the King’s business, and as representatives of Jesus, we become agents of ‘Kingdom Encounter’ for others.

We each have a unique assignment, a purpose and God-given destiny to make a difference in this world. (Eph 2:10) Each one of us has the opportunity to fulfil our potential and the call of God upon our lives—but sadly, not not everyone will.

The reality is that Kingdom culture is alien to the worldly culture in which we live. That Jesus is King implies authority and obedience. It requires something of us. It confronts our independence and waywardness. Jesus’ Kingship calls for us to recognise and step into our own royal heritage as sons and daughters of God.

C.S Lewis once wrote: ‘The Narnian books are not as much allegory as supposal. “Suppose there were a Narnian world and it, like ours, needed redemption. What kind of incarnation and Passion might Christ be supposed to undergo  there ?” see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lion,_the_Witch_and_the_Wardrobe

Thank you Helen, for these inspiring reassuring words. There is power in the words you have so graciously shared with us….. Thank you

Thank you Arthur, Just thought of this verse which really sums it all up: 🙂 ‘I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way. (Eph 1:18-23) You are in His favour, Arthur

Awesome word of wisdom. You are on point we are in a time were we need to draw near to God. I’ve just came out of a bad storm, that storm has taught me that I need God for everything not just somethings and that everything I do must be done His way not my way. I’m learning to align myself with God!!!

Thank You Helen

Hi Joanne, I’m glad to hear that you feel the storm is passed now, may you be replenished and refilled for your new season. We’ve just been discussing ourselves about the challenge of alignment, that when we receive a revelation from God, we need to then align our lives to that revelation. Very thought-provoking.

Thank you for leaving the comment, bless you.

A few weeks ago i sat down to watch tv and a movie came on, The Lion, the Witch and the wardrobe. A few days ago i was watching a show from the UK called, Homes under the hammer. It is about abandoned and run down homes, churches and buildings that are sold at auction, people buy them, fix them up to live in or resell. The presenter shows the home in its rundown state and as he was walking through this particular house he came to a bed room. At one end of the room was a wardrobe, he said ‘I wonder whats in this wardrobe’, he went over opened the wardrobe door, it had no back on it and it opened up into more rooms in the house, he then began talking about the movie, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. For me Helen a home is symbolic of our bodies, 1 Cor 6 :19, and the wardrobe is symbolic of our minds. We all think a certain way, view God and life a certain way and it can often be predictable routine and limited. Just like the wardrobe we know what is in there, we are familiar with it and it is not a very big room. In the movie, it wasn’t until the children went beyond the wardrobe that they entered a whole new world and discovered Aslan. I believe if we want to experience more of Holy Spirit we need to go beyond our current wardrobe thinking. A passage that comes to mind is Matt 6:33, too often we seek the natural world to meet our needs, if we seek God [who is spirit] he will take care of our physical needs, i think its time to get beyond the wardrobe [the natural] and enter into the [spirit] Narnia.

David, that is absolutely brilliant! I especially relate to this right now as I am being challenged about my own ‘wardrobe thinking’ (limiting mindsets)…ah, love it! I have a particular love for C.S. Lewis’ Narnia series, especially the insights about Jesus as a Person that we get glimpses of in Aslan. No doubt I’ll come back around to it again sometime. 🙂

wow! great stuff……its been my prayer to hev divine encounters

A great prayer and one God loves to answer…! ‘You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.’ (Jer 29:13)

Thanks Helen, its great to be able to encourage. I want to add one other thing.[I believe this is a huge confirmation to your post.] I was reading Song of Songs and as i read Chapter 2 :10-13 i really sensed Holy Spirit saying “This is what the season is right now”, as i pondered this, my mind began to think on all the negativity [Matt 13:18-23] happening in the world at the moment so i found it difficult to receive this word as a now word. The next day your post was released and when i read the part at the start, ‘The ice is melting, spring bulbs are appearing……, i immediately thought of this passage in Song of Songs that i read the day before. It is what God says is happening right now not what i think or see, i have to receive and believe it as a now word.

Wow, that’s awesome David!

Accomplishing Your Kingdom Assignment (Nehemiah)

DAY 9 OF 11

8. ACTIVATE Others and DON’T DO IT ALONE

Rarely do we experience success in our God-given assignment by ourselves! God is interested in the body of Christ working together to build his kingdom and minister to His people. God may call us to take a step of faith alone, but God never leaves us alone.

Nehemiah knew he wouldn’t be able to accomplish rebuilding the wall by himself. He knew he needed others who were just as invested in the vision as he was.

God gave Nehemiah the burden, and Nehemiah was able to cast a vision of what was possible and rallied the people. It says in Nehemiah 2:18: “I told them of the hand of my God which had been good upon me, and also of the king’s words that he had spoken to me. So they said, ‘Let us rise up and build.’ Then they set their hands to do this good work.”

God knows what we need when we need it. He’ll bring the right people who share the vision at the right time. We must remember, however, that there is a season to everything. Not everyone who begins the journey with you will be there to see it through to completion. Nor will everyone be doing the exact same thing. Just as our gifts and talents are unique, we are each called to one part of the kingdom-building vision.

So, take that step of faith, knowing that you may start alone, but you won’t stay alone. Ask God to bring others alongside you who will pray for the work you’re doing and to lift you up when you’re weary like Aaron and Hur did with Moses. Link arms with those who come alongside you. We are better together!

Spreading scriptural holiness, christ’s assignment (luke 24:36-53; acts 1:4-9).

  • by Timothy Cooley Sr
  • Posted on June 7, 2019 June 7, 2019

by Timothy L. Cooley Sr.

Our Scripture reading breaks in on the scene just after the Resurrection of Christ. The disciples were still reeling from His crucifixion and death. They heard this day that a few of Jesus’ followers had seen Him  alive!  You know how hard that would be to believe!  The story is old so, of course, we think they should have believed it, but if it happened to you, even now—even though we know God has done something like this—if it happened to you, it would be just too shocking to believe!  They hardly knew what to think.

In the midst of their consternation, Jesus appeared in the room where they were, not even having opened the door to enter.  No wonder it says they were terrified, they were affrighted!  They thought they were seeing a ghost!  They were rubbing their eyes, backing off to the wall, thinking, “What’s going on here?”

He spoke comfortingly to them and began to explain the new developments. Things had certainly taken an unexpected turn.  Not because Jesus did not tell them about it!  In their minds, they had another pattern figured out, so anything that did not fit what they wanted, they just pushed it off to the side.  That’s the way we learn.  It’s the way we don’t learn sometimes.  Whenever something new comes that we don’t know how to fit in to our thinking, we push it out of our minds.  That’s what they did with Jesus’ teaching.  Everything they had thought was going to happen did not work out.  The worst thing imaginable happened!  Jesus was killed, crucified!  It was an awful, gory, bloody, gutty scene, and they were still shocked from it.  And now, all of a sudden there was talk of a Resurrection!

What was Christ trying to accomplish after His Resurrection? He wanted to prepare His disciples for the work He left for them to do.  He gave them directions.  He showed them that He was physically resurrected from the dead.  He invited them to touch Him, to handle Him, to get Him some food so He could eat it in front of them.  They could see that Jesus was there bodily.  But He was doing more than just telling them about the Resurrection.  Because of the Resurrection, there was a whole new job ahead of them.  They have got to take this story to the ends of the world, and so Jesus is preparing them for that. He gave them first of all an…

Assurance for their Faith — Believe!

He encouraged them, “Believe!  Go ahead!  You want some evidence?  I’ll give you evidence!”  I love the story of Thomas.  Jesus, knew that Thomas had declared, “I will not believe unless I put my fingers in the places were the nails were and in the place where the spear pierced His side.”  Now Jesus prodded him, “Go ahead.  Do what you wanted.  Touch Me!  If you want evidence, if you want something to base your faith on, go ahead and touch Me.”  Thomas just fell on his knees and worshipped, “My Lord and My God!”

They had to know what they were testifying, what they were talking about.  Effective testimony can only come from conviction — being convinced about the facts, being convicted about the truth.  Conviction is born only out of this kind of certainty.

The disciples had seen:

CHRIST’S WONDERFUL POWER

As with most people, the disciples noticed His miracles first.  That was part of God’s strategy.  Nicodemus understood.  He came to Jesus and said, “I’ve seen Your miracles.  I realize God is doing something here.  What is Your message from God?” That’s the way these disciples had had their attention caught up because they saw His wonderful power.  They realized that God was doing something marvelous in their midst. They heard –

CHRIST’S WISDOM

His profound, yet simple teaching; easy to understand, but deep enough to daze the doctors.  He out-witted even the scribes and Pharisees, who were the professional interpreters of the Holy Writings.  These disciples had experienced all that.

They had experienced now –

CHRIST’S RESURRECTION

The shocking, the absurd Resurrection!  It’s true, and of course, it’s not absurd.  Jesus assured them that everything had gone as it was planned between Him and His Father. His death was no mistake.  God had not lost control of the world.

He “opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures” (Lk.24:45 NIV).  I have to pray that prayer a lot!  Open my mind, that I may understand the Bible.  Open our minds that we can take it in!  There is stuff here that is too deep for our minds.  Jesus opened their minds so they could understand the Scripture, and ever afterwards when they looked back through the Old Testament, they could see Christ all over the place!  The early church fathers were very strong on that point.  They studied the Old Testament, and it is fascinating how many places the church fathers pointed and said, “That was Jesus; this was Jesus!  He was right there.  He’s all through the Scriptures.”  This is not a new God.  He is the same Jehovah-God, who has been relating to Israel for hundreds of years!

Jesus appeared to His disciples quite a number of times.  We have at least 11 showings of Christ over a period of 40 days, giving them “many convincing proofs that He was alive” (Acts 1:3) and speaking of the kingdom of God.

Now He was getting ready to leave.  He told them in John 14, 15, and 16, “It is expedient for you that I go away.  If I do not go away, you’ll never grow up.  If I do not go away, you’ll never have the full ministry of the Spirit.  If I do not go away, you will always be limited.  But if I go away, it will be better for you, because then the Holy Spirit will be with you.”  We think, “No, I’d rather have Jesus right here so I can ask Him all these questions that I don’t have answers to and that did not make it into His book!”  But He said, “It is better for you to have the ministry of the Holy Spirit.”

CHRIST’S PERSON

As they had witnessed Christ’s Person, His supernatural Person, as they had put all of this together, they were increasingly and deeply convinced that Jesus is the Son of God.  And now they had just come through a really difficult time, and Jesus gave them Assurance for their Faith.

He did something more, He gave them –

Adjustment of their Focus — Look on Christ!

He directed them to look at Himself!  Not like He is egotistical, but He instructed them where their attention needed to be.  He clearly defined their –

“This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in His name to all nations beginning at Jerusalem” (Lk.24:46-47, NIV).

They had read the Scriptures before, but they could never see that the Messiah was to be killed.  It’s there, once you go back into the Old Testament, understanding what happened to Jesus.  Even today, there are Jews, who when you read Isaiah 53 to them, will declare, “You’re not reading out of my Bible.  You are reading out of the Christian’s Bible.  That’s not in my Bible!”  But it is in their Bible!  The prediction of the suffering and crucifixion of Christ in Psalm 22 is a detailed description of crucifixion, written long before the horrible way to execute people was invented.  God was working all through those centuries to bring about His salvation, and Christ said, “There is no mistake here.  I am the fulfillment of all those prophecies.  Everything is right on track.  Now, let me Adjust your Focus!  Come to realize that God is willing to forgive people all over the world!”

He turned their attention away from the temple sacrifices, away from the nation of Israel, away from the ceremonial covenant with Abraham and his physical descendants.  He focused their eyes on the spiritual realities He had brought — repentance from sin, forgiveness of sins, the true inward and spiritual significance of the Old Testament covenant.

He turned the lights on, helped them to understand, and put responsibility on them.

RESPONSIBILITY

He taught them their responsibility to carry on the work He had begun. “You are witnesses of these things — You know it first hand, now go spread this message everywhere!”

What is awesome is that the writing of the New Testament is the recording of their witnessing in such precise documentation that we have solid ground to stand on to this day!  The Bible is the Word of God preserving that witness of what His Son did.

Jesus laid on them the responsibility of getting the Word out!

Someone raised the question of a literal kingdom and Jesus’ Second Coming. “Lord, is this the time when You will restore the Kingdom to Israel?  Is this the time for the end of the world?”  They had their prophecy calendar together.  Funny thing about it was, Jesus did not fit their prophecy calendar.  That’s why some of the people refused to believe in Jesus.  The disciples realized they had been mistaken about what was going to happen, but now they knew what had transpired and they chose to believe!  He redirected their attention to what was on His mind, and He gave them an –

Appointment for their Fulness — Seek!

“I am going to send you what My Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high” (Lk.24:48-49, NIV).

Christ makes no reference in this scene to their failure in forsaking Him during His suffering.  He has already taken care of that in other conversations.  We have at least one where Jesus dealt with Peter about his failure.  But they could not bear a scolding now.  The time for that was past.  They need to have an Appointment for their Fulness, so He urges them to seek.

“Tarry in the city!”  Stay in the city –

“Until ye be endued with power from on high”!  He sends them back to the city to seek and to wait, but God does the filling.

Power for service and power for purity!

In this passage, Jesus speaks of being “clothed” with Power, but elsewhere Scripture also speaks of our being “cleansed,” in reference to Purity. We need to emphasize both aspects of what God does for us in that second, further work.  People tend to major on one or the other. Those who major on power often grow careless about the purity.  They are focused on the more exciting shows of power.  The more exciting the events they can achieve, the better it proves they’ve got the power!  But others say, “No, we don’t want to go off on this power stuff and the strange things that can happen there.”  They focus on purity and some of them tend to sink into a small-souled pessimism that sees little accomplished for God.  Jesus intended that we keep both in balance — Power for Service and Power for Purity!

Later, Peter, looking back, explained what happened on the day of Pentecost, he testified, “Here is what happened. The Holy Spirit purified our hearts by faith” (Acts 15:8-9). It was the same experience with a slightly different emphasis — endued with power and purified by faith!

This power is Can-Do power, ( dunamis — ability, strength, capacity) to live in such a way that both word and deed glorify God before our fellowman. Power to deliver the message.  But the power is not for a show.  The world is always out to see a show, and sometimes God does spectacular things, but at other times He works in quieter ways.  Either way, He is still at work.  Throughout His own ministry, Jesus steadfastly resisted the temptation to make His miracles just a show, just to attract people to see something exciting. The power is for the glory of God on our lives so that others will come to know and love the same Savior we worship.

A mouth that proclaims holy truth, but that is not backed by a holy life is the mouth of a hypocrite! God requires no less a standard than “Be ye holy; for I am holy” (I Pet.1:16). Out of a pure heart comes a powerful witness.

The power could only come as they were filled with the Holy Spirit. That fulness can also be described as a fulness or perfection in love.

Christ’s will is that we preach this message with a heart all aflame with Divine Love.  He gave them an Appointment for their Fulness.  He also gave them an –

Assignment for their Future — Go!

“You shall be witnesses unto Me … Jerusalem Judea Samaria Uttermost parts of the earth”

“Go ye into all the world….”  There is an imploring Go in Gospel!  Jesus thrust them into the work for Him.  It was far bigger than anything they had ever imagined.  Yes, the psalmist had sung about letting the heathen know, but Israel had never gotten into really big, powerful moves, with people getting converted or coming to God.  Now something new was going to happen!  It was so new it shocked the church.  Throughout the book of Acts, you usually do not see them planning and strategizing missions.  They were trying to keep up with what God was already doing.  They were shocked!  “You know what?  God is saving people without making Jews out of them!”  It was a shocking development to them!  “We know they are saved!  How do we explain that?  What shall we do?”  They ran to the Scriptures.  They recalled the teachings of Jesus.  They argued and debated.  They tried to figure out, “What is God doing?”

There is this Go in the Gospel!

As Jesus approached the time of leaving His earthly ministry, Jesus repeatedly stressed that He wanted His disciples to carry the message to the entire world. On four different occasions He inculcated His passion.  In Luke 24:36-53, Luke recorded two separate occasions — one on the day of his Resurrection, the other on the day of His Ascension.  As Jesus prepared to leave, some of the last words that He spoke to them were about their being a witness.  He urged the Great Commission time after time!  I wonder if He actually talked with them about it more than four times, but we have at least four occasions recorded where Jesus presses them,  “Go Tell Everyone!”  Jesus’ last Commission should be our first concern.

Jesus concentrated on preparing His disciples for the job ahead. He had to give…

Assurance for their Faith – He knew they needed help for their faith.  If you are struggling in your faith, come back to Jesus because He will give you strength and reason to believe.

Adjustment for their Focus – They wanted to construct a prophecy chart.  Who would know more about the future and what God was going to do than Jesus Himself?  We’d better ask Him before He leaves.  But He shut down the conversation.  “It is not for you to know.”  Every time big world events take place, especially when they concern Israel, people adjust their prophecy chart so they can explain it and let people know what will be next.  The big deal is to get people saved, to let them know about Jesus, to tell them He already knows what will happen, and to assure them that Jesus has all the power necessary to give them victory over sin and take them all the way to heaven!

Appointment for their Fulness – I want you to tarry until ye be endued with power from on high!

Assignment for their Future – What He spoke to the disciples is just as appropriate for us today.  He wants us to find every person who doesn’t know and tell him or her about Jesus!  His will has never changed!  We are to be ever at the job of getting people reached because that Go is still on the heart of God!

Ten Essentials Needed to Fulfill Your Kingdom Assignment

As a person who has been preaching and attempting to implement strategies, I have come up with the following essentials necessary for effectiveness in Kingdom ministry.

1. High-Level Intercession

In Daniel chapters 10-12 and Ephesians 6 we find that there are high-level demonic entities, called principalities, that rule whole nations and/or empires. These are the highest-ranking demons under Satan that control the political, economic and social systems of the world through ideology and worldview.

Consequently, I found that when I started preaching the Kingdom with a goal of shifting culture towards biblical standards that I walked into the highest level of warfare! This is why God led me to spend much time in deep travail and illicit the prayers of high-level intercessors! If we do not combine Kingdom implementation with commensurate effective prayer we will get our butts kicked! When you preach the Kingdom of God you are dealing with demonic systems not just individual demons and sinners! Without a proper prayer plan in place our goals of Kingdom implementation will be doomed to fail!

2. Spouse on the Same Page

Before you make a public shift from preaching merely an individualistic gospel of salvation to the Gospel of the Kingdom make sure your spouse understands the spiritual and social implications it will have on your life! If your spouse is not on the same page with you theologically or teleologically (objective and goals), then the enemy can use this as a wedge that can divide your marriage!

3. Humility in the Marketplace

When leaders start making headway implementing successful strategies for the Kingdom in their communities, key marketplace leaders in politics and business will latch onto you. You will start moving in circles outside the religious walls of the church and will be in proximity to power, influence and celebrity like never before! Never forget your original vision and what got you there to begin with! Always walk in humility! I have seen countless Christian leaders fall into pride when they started hobnobbing with the rich, influential and famous, resulting in them being transformed by the world instead of vice versa!

4. Strong Connection to Local Church Leadership

The local church is the only entity on earth that the devil cannot destroy (Matthew 16:16-19)! Leaders and ministers that bypass the local church run the risk of not having long-term fruit! In some cases, high-level marketplace leaders will be connected more with individual apostolic-type pastors who will mentor them, even if they live too far to attend the local church the pastor oversees. In any case, if you want biblical results then connect your work to a biblical model of discipleship that involves the family of families called the church. Of course, if at all possible, high-level marketplace leaders should attend an apostolic-type church, which is a local church that equips and releases the saints for the work of the ministry by effectively engaging culture and influencing their region holistically.

5. Have a Strong Covenantal Team for Support

I have found that I need to have community with those who understand and partner with me in my Kingdom calling. I have been blessed to have several close friends who I work with, pray with, travel with and play with! Without this mutually beneficial support group I would have a difficult time persevering in the Kingdom marathon I am called to run in!

6. Avoid Mission Drift

It is inevitable that the more successful you become in your Kingdom assignment, the more opportunities will come both in the church and marketplace! Many people will want you on their boards, will pull upon you to aid them, and the demands on your time will increase. One of the most important things a leader has to do in order to remain successful is to avoid drifting from their original mission.

For example, I put every invitation and opportunity I get through the grid of my God-given assignment. If it doesn’t align I don’t even consider it! If it seems to connect to my mission, I pray and try to get a witness in my spirit before I make a commitment to minister somewhere.

Furthermore, with every new level a person obtains there will be adjustments they will have to make to ensure they are still on point with their mission. Having a team of folks that help you discern the will of God is also invaluable.

7. Be Motivated by the Message, Not Money

The more the demand upon you increases, the more opportunity will come to get involved in church ministry or business deals. God will allow both divine and demonic opportunities to come your way to reveal to you the motivations of your heart! If you are motivated primarily by money then you will only go after whatever pays the most instead of what will be the most fruitful for the Kingdom! This will lead to a watering down of your purpose resulting in the dissipating of your effectiveness and divine authority.

8. Center the Message/Ministry on Jesus, Not Societal Transformation

The word of God teaches us that all things were made by Jesus and for Jesus (Colossians 1:16)! In all things we do Jesus alone should have the supremacy (Colossians 1:19)! I have seen numerous leaders and ministries focus so much on societal influence and transformation they wound up in humanism (humanitarianism without Christ). If we seek first His Kingdom and focus on Jesus being the center of our lives and ministries then He will lead us to do things that will enable us to bless both God and humanity!

This does not mean that we have to do every good work overtly in the name of Jesus, but we have to look for every opportunity to let His love be known to our neighbors. Otherwise the focus is more on quality of life transformation than on Jesus! In my opinion, this violates Colossians 1:16,19.

9. Balance Your Life with Individual Renewal

When we start preaching and implementing the Kingdom message in our spheres of influence we will see more needs and opportunities than ever before, which can result in work overload! There is no end to societal and individual needs!

One of the most important lessons I have learned is that it is essential I consistently do things that build me up spiritually, emotionally and physically. I need to do things that not only strengthen me spiritually (prayer, Bible reading, church) but I need to do things that give me life emotionally (sports, music, art, cultivating a social life, etc.). Furthermore, I need to regularly exercise and be strategic in what I eat so I can remain physically functional. Missing it in any of these three areas can mean a premature death either in ministry, family, or even our lives!

10. Balance Work and Play

I have learned not to take myself too seriously! I have learned that I have to work hard but mix play in as well! I need to invest in mutually beneficial friendships that give me and my wife a healthy social life that will strengthen us (emotionally) and inevitably lengthen our lives and ministries.

I have also found that the leaders I have the most fun with are the ones God is bonding me with the most for Kingdom ventures! Jesus called His disciples His friends (John 15). He loved the Pharisees but liked His close associates! Jesus loved everyone but I am convinced He did not like everyone! (Look at how He spoke to the Pharisees in Matthew 23 and compare it to how He spoke to His disciples in John 15.) Consequently, I believe God is going to lead us to work the closest with those we are compatible with emotionally and socially.

In the Kingdom, relationship precedes ministry. If you reverse that, your key ministry partnerships may not endure the test of time!

This is a great article by Joseph Mattera. I often use important words like this from other ministries to strengthen my own staff, and this one I will share with them today. The points made here are very much aligned with our existing values, but we too easily get distracted by the burdens we carry and suffer the drift referred to. Fortunately, we have made much of his closing comment, “relationship precedes ministry.”

Great Article Bishop, thanks for sharing the results of your experiences!

It is reassuring to know that the work of sharing God’s kingdom has very real circumstances that are becoming clearer for this generation. Kingdom messengers face dueling circumstances, having to choose between fulfilling one’s assignment–at all cost and, at times, under terms and conditions evangelical messengers can choose to avoid. Unlike the evangelical field, kingdom ministry encompasses all seven mountains, making it possible for more Christians than ever to engage in sharing its message. Your ten essential points help equip us all the more. So, thank you!

Sermon Notes: ON KINGDOM ASSIGNMENT

“on kingdom assignment”.

John 6:1-14 (NKJV)

I. INTRODUCTION

During this pandemic, we are on Kingdom assignment.   God needs all of us to make ourselves available to bring His love, comfort and peace to persons who are struggling with the realities of this societal crisis.  Yes, things look bad; however, our hope and faith are in Jesus Christ and we trust Him to take care of all of His people during this “storm.”  Jesus took care of His disciples in Matthew 8:23-27 during the storm, and He will take care of us.  Isaiah 25:4 says God is our refuge from the storm and a shelter from the heat.

Now is the time to be on Kingdom assignment and allow the Holy Spirit to use all of us as the instruments of His hope and love.

II. THE KINGDOM ASSIGNMENT                   Matthew 9:37-38

A huge crowd kept following Him wherever He went, because they saw His miraculous signs as He healed the sick.

  • 2 Timothy 1:7 – No fear!
  • 2 Corinthians 5:19-20 – Rep for Jesus.
  • Give what you have to Jesus.              8-9

Then Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, spoke up. 9 “There’s a young boy here with five barley loaves and two fish. But what good is that with this huge crowd?”

  • Luke 14:23 – Go!
  • 2 Timothy 2:21 – Give your life to be used by God.
  • 1 Peter 2:9 – You are God’s possession to be used to show God’s goodness.
  • Bring and comfort; you settle down.              10

“Tell everyone to sit down,” Jesus said. So, they all sat down on the grassy slopes. (The men alone numbered about 5,000.)

  • Proverbs 16:24 – Speak life and peace.
  • Proverbs 17:22 – Be the thermostat, not the temperature.
  • Give the people what God has blessed.                       11-13

11 Then Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks to God, and distributed them to the people. Afterward He did the same with the fish. And they all ate as much as they wanted. 12 After everyone was full, Jesus told His disciples, “Now gather the leftovers, so that nothing is wasted.” 13 So they picked up the pieces and filled twelve baskets with scraps left by the people who had eaten from the five barley loaves.

Your Calling versus Your Kingdom Assignment

your calling versus your kingdom assignment

Is your Calling and your Kingdom Assignment the same thing? Are you looking for your unique calling, and just can’t seem to find it? Or perhaps you’re feeling deep down, that there’s something more for you. Then let’s experience some breakthroughs together.

Step One: Let’s Clarify Your Calling from Your Kingdom Assignment

As Believers of The Way ( yes that’s what Jesus’ followers were called), we are all Called to the same things, and for the same purpose.

Yet your Kingdom Assignment, where, whom, and how you are to serve is totally unique and designed just for you.

No one, and I repeat no one, can fill your place in Gods Kingdom. No one can take your place. It’s your place, and only yours. Your assignment cannot be stolen from you, unless of course you allow it to be taken from you.

Step Two: Understanding Your Calling

First and foremost, there is NO calling unless we answer The One who is Calling. Please read that again. This statement is vital, and so easy to miss. When missed, it leads to frustration, wasted time and energy.

You and I would not even have this feeling that we are Called to something greater, and to be more than we are, if there wasn’t Someone Calling us. “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him ; …” John 6:44 (NKJV)

If you feel you have wasted time, perhaps even years, looking for your calling and never really finding it. There is hope. Our gracious Father is the great redeemer of time, and He never lets anything go to waste!

Peaceful start to the morning

I invite you to read my Thought Post dedicated to this very subject. Are You Walking In Your True Calling?

As followers of Jesus, we have all been Called to the same things and for the same purpose. So then, what exactly have we been Called to?

We have been Called to:

  • Follow Jesus
  • Obey His Commands
  • Surrender Fully
  • Make Disciples, baptising people in the name of The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit
  • We are to heal the sick
  • Cast out demons and
  • Destroy the works of the devil. To take back all that was lost, stolen and destroyed, and lay it at the feet of our Lord.

How are we supposed to do this? By the Power of The Holy Spirit (in us and upon us)

For What Purpose: For the Glory of our Father

Romans 11:36

That’s it. That’s your Calling, and the Calling of all followers of Jesus.

We are not to just pray, and survive, and hang-on-for-dear-life until our Lord comes to do all of the above for us. No! We were designed to walk in Love, Grace and Power. Designed to actively co-partner with the Holy Spirit in this amazing Calling; and to do so in our own unique Kingdom Assignments areas.

Does that mean we are all meant to leap into full-time ministry, become pastors etc., No! It might be for some to fulfil these Kingdom Assignments, but for many of us it’s not. Our Calling is the same, but our Kingdom Assignments look different! Before we continue though, I feel a need to first check in with you. How does knowing your Calling make you feel? Are you feeling anxious, fearful and overwhelmed by what you’ve just read?” Is that the enemy coming at you right now, wanting you to quit reading, and move onto something else? Don’t let him! Keep reading and behold the joy that awaits you.

Perhaps instead you may be feeling filled with great excitement around the simple clarity of your Calling. For you realize, that if this is what each of us is Called to do, then surely, we will be well equipped to do it AND receive all the Power to do so successfully.

Just imagine, a world filled with ordinary believers, like you and I, fulfilling all of the above? How God’s Glory would shine on our earth. Hallelujah!

“And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: “Blessing and honour and glory and power Be to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!” Revelation 5:13 (NKJV)

Bible Study with Coffee in the morning

Step Three: Let’s Clarify Your Kingdom Assignment

As mentioned above, your Kingdom Assignment or Assignments, as you will have several , have been designed for you long before you were born.

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)

You were created in a specific way, with certain characteristics, likes & dislikes; loves, passions, natural talents and abilities. None of this is an accident. You were created with all this uniqueness for a purpose, for a reason. Everything was given to you in order for you to be amazing at what you were born to do; and to be able to co-labour with God on seeing His dreams and plans for your life fulfilled.

That’s why it’s so incredibly sad when we try to copy, intimate and follow others. We lose who we were created to be. No wonder we fail. We were not created by The Almighty as a mere copy, or shadow of someone else, but rather as totally unique men and women. Uniquely equipped to successfully fulfil His Assignments for us.

The more you trust and work with the Holy Spirit to discover who you really are; the more He will peel away even the things you think you are, and reveal to you who you really are . Be true to what is revealed to you, step into who you really are, and you will see how quickly your unique Kingdom Assignments will be revealed to you.

Once you are aligned with heaven, for heavens purposes, an incredible flow from heaven is released into your life, into all that you do, and everywhere you go. Blessings arrive at a pace that leaves you astounded, and in awe of the incredible Lord that we serve!

Please keep an eye on my future Thought Posts, and online workshops, as the Holy Spirit has so much more to say about this.

Do you see the incredible link between all of the below? Answering the One who is Calling. Surrendering all. Building Intimacy with Him. How all of this leads to hearing His Voice clearly; which in turn leads to clarity on your Calling and revelation regarding your unique Kingdom Assignments? Amazing!

Let’s recap : We all have the same Calling and Called for the same purpose. Yet we each have unique and different Kingdom Assignments. Your Assignments are specifically designed for YOU, and only you can fulfil them. The faster you align with Heaven, the faster you will see God showing up in your life in even greater measure than you can possibly imagine.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT)

Prayer Points :

1) Father, thank you for revealing what our Calling is, please show us our next step to walk in this Calling that you have given us? 2) Lord, I know that you have a unique place for me in your Kingdom, designed just for me, please reveal to me my unique Kingdom Assignment? 3) Holy Spirit, please help me get to know the real me, as you designed me, (before influences, not from you, came upon me). Please teach me about my unique Kingdom Assignment, and what step I need to take next. Thank you.

It is ALL in Your Kingdom Assignment

by Ericka | Jun 16, 2015 | Business Growth , Training and Events | 0 comments

shutterstock_229868482

The answer to the manifestation of whatever it is that you desire lies in focusing 80% or more of your time, energy and effort in understanding and implementing your Kingdom Assignment.

When you focus on completing your Kingdom Assignment, everything – and I do mean every aspect of your life – moves into it’s proper place and order.

It is ALL in Moving Your Kingdom Assignment forward.

The Kingdom of God is the manifestation of the Heart of God – Jesus – upon the earth. Your assignment is something specific that you, and only you, are called to complete by a certain date.

Your Kingdom Assignment is God’s heart fully manifested in your life. It is the building of something evident (a successful business, a thriving ministry, a large-non-profit organization, etc.)  that is a result of your faithful obedience to His will and instruction.

This has been confirmed over and over for me since I dedicated my life to fulfilling my Kingdom Assignment more than 20 years ago.

The problem is that we think we know what our Kingdom Assignment means. We think it is synonymous with our dreams, purpose, calling or vision. Yet, it is something far greater.

You can easily be on purpose and even living His vision for your life, but missing fulfilling your Kingdom Assignment.

My primary gift is hearing and receiving new revelation directly from the Throne of God. The gift God gave me to share what I hear is my speaking and teaching. The other gift He gave me to carry this out is leadership.

If He had not given me a full understanding of my Kingdom Assignment, I would have very easily been traveling around the world speaking about being on God’s vision for our lives and building successful businesses.

This would have been on purpose, even walking out His vision for my life, but the fullness of my Kingdom Assignment, to walk in the mantle of an Apostle to train, equip and uplift others and lead them in manifesting every aspect of our Kingdom wealth by building world-class training systems, would not have been fulfilled.

He also confirmed this promise as He instructed me not to look to my left or right for my husband, but to release the fullness of  His assignment for my life and on that path my husband will recognize and find me. He was right! Even my husband was inside of my Kingdom Assignment!

With every new level and dimension of success He moves you to in order to complete you Kingdom Assignment, your resonance or vibration becomes one of more and more light (and less and less darkness). Old habits, thoughts, beliefs and behaviors will no longer fit you and they will simply fall away from your life with little or no effort. The old simply cannot accompany you as you move to new heights of manifestation.

I had been trying for more than a year to get off of caffeine. Ever since I moved out of my home office and into an office building with a Keurig machine was handy, I noticed that I fell in to the habit of starting my day with a cup of coffee. I have never been a coffee drinker so for me this cup included caramel macchiato creamer and additional sugar (as if the macchiato was not enough).

This was sending me into a carb-craving frenzy for the rest of the day. As  result, I gained 25 pounds in the last year-and-a-half.

I knew better and kept trying and trying to eliminate caffeine and sugar to no avail.

When I checked in with the Holy Spirit, He would always tell me not to worry, just remain 100% focused on my Kingdom Assignment.

When I moved to a new level of my Kingdom Assignment a couple of weeks ago, my craving for caffeine literally stopped. It was gone and I have not had the urge for coffee at all.

Then the urge for sugar disappeared. This was HUGE!

Sweet items have always seemed to call my name and I would often answer. I could always justify my sweet indulgences because, “I work hard and deserve it.”

I have had no urge for sugar since. As a matter of fact, the sweets in which I used to indulge are now making me cringe.

How can this be? It is because everything I need and desire is INSIDE of  fully committing to completing my Kingdom Assignment.

With every step of moving closer to complete your Kingdom Assignment, you become more and more of the person God created you to be.

He moves you closer and closer to His perfection and everything  just simply moves into order.

I know this sounds familiar. “But seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:33).”

We KNOW this intellectually, but all-too-often have perceived it as saying, “But seek first my walk with the Lord and all these things shall be added unto me.” This is not what this scripture means.

It is your walk with the Lord that causes you to seek His Kingdom and His righteousness (the preordained and pre-established order of the Kingdom of  Heaven to be manifested as the Kingdom of God). It is not your walk alone that causes things to be added unto you.

Things will be added unto you to the extent that you solely focus on bringing forth your Kingdom Assignment.

But, where do you begin? You begin with fully identifying, understanding, formulating and implementing your Kingdom Assignment.

This process can take years. Even a lifetime. But it doesn’t have to.

If you are ready to identify and understand the precise reason God created you and the specific assignment He has on your life, then I invite you to be a part of this upcoming 3-week tele-class training, Release Your Inner Greatness: Understanding and Implementing Your Kingdom Assignment . It begins this Thursday and you don’t want to miss it. Click Here to See Full Details and Save Your Space Today ( www.yourkingdomassignment.com ).

Your Kingdom Assignment awaits!

Have an incredible day!

Dedicated to Your Success, Ericka

Denny’s Schooling

Grant high school – north hollywood, ca, san diego state university, graduating from california state university, northridge, ca in psychology., graduated president of his class from denver theological seminary with his m div june/1979., denny’s testimony, denny grew up third generation italian. his paternal grandparents, arnold and bellesi came to america and soon found christ at the azusa street meetings in los angeles, ca. with their new found faith denny’s grandparents started an all italian speaking pentecostal church called christian assembly in glendale. with very little money for an immigrant church denny’s grandfather lead as the lay pastor of christian assembly for over 50 years. that church is still in existence and is now called eagle rock christian assembly., these were denny’s roots, but it did very little for a boy who was raised in the san fernando valley where sports consumed his days. christianity was an embarrassment to him going as far as to turn the clocks back in his house on sunday mornings hoping his parents would sleep in and miss church all together., that all changed when his parents, rosann and harold bellesi, took him to van nuys baptist churches youth group and he ran into a good friend and sports rival, rob scribner. rob was sharp and denny respected him very much. denny started to change his view of christianity. he thought, “if rob can be a christ follower maybe there is something to this”. within a few months after a youth event denny gave his heart to christ and crossed the line of commitment to be a believer. it wasn’t long before denny’s quiet leadership skills began to show up, becoming a stand out in this well established youth group where over 500 10th –12th graders attended on a sunday. denny’s senior year he was voted in president of this youth group beginning his ministry of leading with humility, humor and grace., denny’s mentors, jim grindle - youth director of van nuys baptist church, faith and jack halverson – pre and post marriage mentors dr. vernon grounds – president denver theological seminary pastor larry dewitt - senior pastor calvary community church  , denny’s top 5 strengths , (in order) ideation, strategic, connectedness, communication, belief, from now, discover your stengths/fp free press/marcus buckingham and donald o. clifton, ph.d., denny’s ministry experience, youth for christ—san diego 1970-73 (campus life director), summer mission—naples, italy—cbfms—jun-aug 1973 van nuys baptist church—1973-76 (high school campus ministries staff/ youth director) youth for christ—denver, co (campus life volunteer staff while in seminary—1977-79 youth for christ—san diego, ca –1979-80 (campus life staff training director) calvary community church,--westlake village, ca—1980-85 (associate pastor- youth/ young couples/ mission-outreach) coast hills community church—aliso viejo, ca 1985-2005 (founding/ senior pastor/ led church from launch of 10 people to 7000 congregants) lake avenue church—pasadena, ca –2005-07 (interim weekend teaching pastor) kingdom assignment, international—lake forest, ca – 2006-present founder board of directors, mops, international, denver, co--2006- present board of directors, new life ministries, laguna beach, ca--2006- present, denny in the news, people magazine—may, 2001, oprah winfrey show—may, 2003, well done awards—may, 2007/ june, 2008, to tell the truth (television)—september, 2001, denny’s interests, honors/ accomplishments, orange county boy scouts of america—man of the year—2003 senior class president—denver seminary, 1978-79 kingdom assignment (co-creator), 2000- present pastor’s roundtable (creator)—1995-present hole-in-one (9th hole, north course--the lakes golf club), july 7, 1995 maintain a 6 handicap in golf 34 years of marriage 2 married daughters, 3 beautiful grandchildren, denny the pastor, denny have written and preached over 500 sermons on every subject under the sun., to book denny to speak at your church you can reach him at  [email protected].

Leesa’s Schooling Cleveland High School – Reseda, CA

Pierce jr. college - woodland hills, ca pht – “putting hubby through” denver seminary ka board of director bio – short for publication  , leesa’s testimony, leesa was born in southern california in 1955, same year disneyland came to be. she celebrated her 50th along with disneyland… which was a perfect fit. everything changed, and her story began, when her handsome, athletic brother britt saffell was killed by a drunk driver in the spring of 1966. he was a popular and well liked guy and it showed at his funeral at forest lawn in north hollywood when 700 of his closest friends showed up. his passion was surfing, the reason leesa’s parents put on his grave stone “a surfer who stood tall and a friend of us all”, a phase that was penned by his surfing buddies. something leesa’s family did not know, until britt’s death, was that he had become a christian in the youth group of van nuys baptist church just weeks before his death. that church, van nuys baptist, surrounded leesa’s family with love and care during such a difficult time. when leesa was 13 years old she too committed herself to christ, walking down the aisle on the 17th verse of “just as i am”. leesa was on fire as a christian and was bold in her faith. where before she felt awkward and not comfortable in her own skin as a teenager, she became confident and alive in christ. she knew her purpose and that was to give glory to god for the rest of her life. she soon became a leader in the jr. high and later the high school group under the direction of jim grindle. known lovingly at cleveland high school as the “little jesus freak” she found her new life to be exciting and fulfilling and has never looked back or regretted one moment of finding the way, the truth and the life., leesa’s mentor, faith and jack halverson- pre and post marriage mentors, jim and ricki grindle - high school youth pastor and wife, van nuys baptist church. larry and beccy dewitt – pastor and wife, calvary community church, westlake village, ca harry and pat frum – elder/friends – calvary community church kay barker – women’s director coast hills community church, leesa the speaker, leesa has worn many hats in ministry over the last 35 years and has enjoyed every minute of it. leesa is a seasoned speaker with a humorous style that weaves scripture into every day life experiences. subjects in her many honed messages of “daring to dream” to “becoming the ephesians’ 5 woman” have made her a sought after speaker for one day events or week long conferences and retreats., latest endorsement – november 12th 2008, having leesa join us for our annual women’s event, ‘flourish’ at door of hope in tasmania, australia was an absolute delight. leesa’s upbeat, professional and unique way of speaking into the lives of women was simply a joy to experience. her style is easy listening as she naturally connects straight to the heart of many in her powerful and enriching style., not only did leesa bring all of these qualities and more to our audience, she genuinely made a way into each of our hearts, which was a beautiful thing to sense in such a short space of time. leesa is committed to the cause god is calling her to and staying true to who he has uniquely crafted her to be, all the while powerfully impacting those she crosses paths with. leesa & denny became treasured friends to not only myself, but to my family and my team. this was the first year our local news channel showed up and leesa handled herself beautifully with just minutes to prepare for an on camera interview that aired on that evenings news cast., amanda towns – women’s ministry director, door of hope, launceston, tasmania, message titles:, dare to dream – jeremiah 29:11, becoming the ephesians 5 woman creating a climate for intimacy the kingdom assignment – live to give denny and leesa speak at marriage retreats four messages entitled through the years still speaking still laughing still intimate still in love  , leesa in the news, cover story of the orange county version of “today’s woman” in july/07., (click here to view) http://www.ocregister.com/ocregister/news/atoz/article_1215580.php  , see below, leesa in the entertainment industry,, leesa’s strengths, strengths finder top 5 in order - woo, positivity, activator, communication, belief, leesa the author, after her disappointment of almost being on the oprah show in april/2000 she wrote a book entitled “things i wanted to say on oprah”. leesa worked on writing the manuscript through that summer with her mentor and friend steve arterburn of new life ministries. at that time she was the editor of something coast hills church was beginning to feature in the weekend services called “my story”. leesa would edit twelve pages of a story and take it down to two pages, double spaced, 12 size font which made it exactly 5 minutes for the speaker to tell their story. as writing was becoming a great joy and increased talent for leesa something big happened in her life november/2000, called the kingdom assignment. in january 2001 leesa felt a calling to write the kingdom assignment with her husband denny. leesa believes, publishing is a mystery, but when god wants something to happen it happens. after this realization, the bellesi’s had an agent in a week and a two book contract with zondervan in a month. the oprah book still sits on the shelf unpublished, but was the beginning of something god had in store to use skills of leesa’s that she had only dreamed about in the past., the day leesa and denny were invited to be on the oprah show in may/2003 she read to denny the words she had written feb/2001 in a journal., “everybody thinks my dream is to be on oprah. my dream is not to be on oprah. my dream is to do something in my life that is worthy of being on oprah and affect other peoples lives. if god can find a way for me to be on and share my faith and have an impact, then yes i want to be on oprah. i desire to give god glory in all i do and hear those words, “well done, my good and faithful servant”. so all along as i attempt to accomplish these things i want god to have the glory and for me to have a hand in furthering his kingdom”., now we had a book that was all about god, faith and the bible it seemed his perfect timing to see this dream fulfilled., note: after leesa and denny were on oprah and and the ka story was told…the book the kingdom assignment went from being in 94,000 place on amazon to 1,500 place in just 24 hours., the bellesis now self-publish through “kingdom inspired publishing” and their story has been told by other authors:  , beyond jabez, by bruce wilkinson, multnomah showdown, by radio host larry elder, st. martin press passionaries, by barbara r. metzler, templeton foundation press the externally focused church, rick rusaw and eric swanson, group publishing american profile’s hometown heros, carole marshall, harpersanfrancisco/harper collins girl wise, julia devillers, prima  , kingdom assignment is in other languages: portuguese, korean, dutch in the works: spanish, chinese, indonesian, nepalese  , the bellesi’s were contributing authors in “the complete book of marriage”/ stoop/ revel leesa was a contributing writer for “girl wise” julia devillers, prima, leesa’s passions, seeing people in ministry get a reprieve, in september 2002 denny and leesa invested in a mobile home on the top of a hill in laguna beach, ca. the day of it’s purchase it was called karc (kingdom assignment retreat center). from that day denny and leesa have been using that home as a ministry tool for people who need a rest. it has always been a passion for leesa to have a home where missionaries and people in ministry can have a time away for free., dance is a passion for leesa, but not how you might imagine. after teaching dance for 20 years leesa lost that gift and career opportunity when a flaming 250 lb. cirque du soliel clown fell off the stage on top of her. celebrating leesa’s birthday denny had purchased front row seats in that it was one of leesa’s favorite touring acts. leesa got a bulging disc in her neck when the performer tumbled off the stage and the propane tanks and his full weight fell on her. this became a three-year battle for leesa where she suffered with terrible physical and emotional pain. years of physical therapy and chronic pain counseling wore her down to a place she never thought she could go. leesa has always been a positive person, but life became so hard that the feeling of “not being able to go on” was a daily occurrence. even though this happened in front of 1500 people cirque du soliel and/or aig, their insurance company took it all the way to a jury trial. leesa never knew when the insurance cameras were following her making it impossible to really live life. a friend told leesa that someone in the jury needed to hear about jesus and that is why god was allowing it to go this far and leesa agreed. when the trial began in february 2007 it was the first time in orange county history that the attorneys could ask the jury pool what they believed in, what there faith was and if they too had experienced physical pain. what the bellesis saw was extraordinary. seeing jury pool members melt down in the jury box. one proclaimed he was a catholic, another a buddhist, another a born again christian, several told that they believed in nothing that their was no god. it was fascinating. when the trial was over february 28th 2007 the bellesis stood victorious from the legal sense and god was glorified. jesus was lifted high and it was over… praise god. so now when leesa considers dance and the chance of having the opportunity to share that with others again it feels like a gift to her… 100x’s over., when leesa’s brother, britt, died she became the boy of the family. watching the fights and football with her dad became a weekly event. little did she know she would become an avid football fan. leesa believes it is the best game ever created and has the best rules. leesa loves football so much she is on two fantasy football leagues. one is with her family and some friends and the other, after a little begging, became the first woman in an all male league. and guess what… she is in first place. leesa tries to be humble and knows if she trash talks too much she will experience “pride before a fall” so she tries to keep her mouth shut. jerry wilkinson who is one of the ka board members and is the leagues commissioner and finds leesa very irritating. note: leesa finds it completely demeaning when someone asks if she picks the team by the colors of their uniform. she knows the rules and she knows the players … thank you very much. team name is: girls rule…. grrrrrrrr   , leesa’s dance experience, in 1983 while celebrating leesa’s mothers 60th birthday her mom, lynn, said something that stirred leesa to thinking. she said; “here i am 60 years old… i always wanted to be a dancer and i never was”. after a disappointment of not making it for cheerleading in high school this had also become a secret dream of leesa’s. on her way home, leesa drove along the 101 freeway and she thought; “you know i don’t want to be saying that when i am 60 years old”. even though leesa was the ripe old age of 27, not an age that most people get a dance career, a pastor’s wife and the mother of 2 small children, she offered up a prayer, got denny’s wisdom and decided to take the embarrassing risk of being laughed at. she had a friend by the name of bobbie tauber that owned a dance studio. bobbie was gracious and very generous and after leesa shared with her the dream she had of taking dance classes, bobbie offered her a dance scholarship. this was such a gift being on a pastor’s salary, making this a “dream giver” possibility. leesa started with tap, then jazz, then the scary ballet along with all the amazing nine-year-olds in the class. a year later bobbie asked leesa to start teaching, which meant she had to choreograph for the spring recital. only with god’s help she actually learned to count to 8 and figure it out. leesa started getting outside choreography jobs. when denny and leesa moved to orange county to start coast hills community church she thought maybe her fledgling dance career was coming to an end. she decided to pick the best ballet school in town and begin taking classes. after 6 months, the directors asked her to start teaching. by god’s grace and the help of gracious people dance did become a career for leesa. she believes no dream is ever too late., in three of the homes leesa and denny lived in they have made the garage into a dance studio, allowing young and old to come and rehearse for free. currently they live in lake forest and just recently finished a project of turning their garage into a dance studio. if they build it they will come, because the night the project was completed, 7 dancers from saddleback church arrived to rehearse in front of the mirrors for saddleback's 2008 christmasprogram. , leesa in the entertainment industry, as a teenager leesa remembers standing to her feet at hume lake christian camp, after hearing kenny poure speak, with the challenge of saying out loud “here i am lord send me”. leesa was convinced she was going straight to africa, but god said, no and had different plans for leesa. surprisingly, god has thwarted leesa’s efforts to get to africa, but on a beautiful california day in january of 2006 leesa said it again, “here i am lord send me”, but this time with the little thought; “to minister to the back stage of american idol”. shortly after that she saw a beautiful singer by the name of katharine mcphee on the next weeks episode of american idol. she felt called to pray for katharine, which she did. a month later leesa was with denny where he was preaching at lake avenue church in pasadena, when a cute young couple came up to her after the service. the couple wanted to get together with denny and leesa for coffee, they exchanged information, but as leesa turned away she was asked if she could pray for the young girl standing there. absolutely, leesa’s said; and then she was asked… do you watch american idol leesa was embarrassed to admit that she did and said; sort of sheepishly, ummm… yes. she then was told that the young girl was katharine mcphee. leesa didn’t recognize her and was pretty much in shock. here was the girl she had prayed for standing in front of her asking to be prayed for. that was the first of about 30 miracles that took leesa to the back stage of america idol, beginning a three-year ministry to date., see news articles:, oc register article 1, http://www.ocregister.com/articles/bellesi-idol-syesha-2036443-jason-leesa, http://www.ocregister.com/articles/audience-idol-told-2057650-one-syesha, leesa also works seasonally with media placement There are some in the body of Christ who see those with public roles (ministries) in the body of Christ as being more valuable to the kingdom than those who don’t. But this is simply not true when you see “the big picture.”

They were not teaching Sunday school. They didn’t lead the choir. They served on committees. They were not unhappy. They ...read more

Kingdom Intelligence Briefing

Understanding kingdom assignments.

Understanding_Kingdom_Assignments

As of late, I feel that I am in the Holy Spirit Advanced School of Learning. It seems that each day God is teaching me things that I did not know the day before. In our local congregation, God has been having me teach a series called “Foundations of Biblical Prosperity.” From the title, you may think you already know what I am teaching. I can assure you that you don’t. I have been waking up in the morning teaching things out of my spirit in ways I could not have imagined. In this series on Biblical Prosperity, the very last thing you will hear about is giving. Giving is only one component. Without adding all the rest, giving can be in vain. This is why many have gone bankrupt while they were tithing! These powerful messages are now available on MP3 CD along with a professionally printed study guide through  Biblical Life Publishing  ( www.biblical-life.net ).

God has also been teaching me about Kingdom Assignments. This is really something that I have never heard of before. I have heard about Kingdom Destiny, Kingdom Authority, Kingdom Power, etc., but assignments were not in the mix. So when God began speaking to me about them, He had my attention.

Kingdom Assignments come in all sizes. Some can be completed within one event, such as praying for someone. Others can take years, but will include daily sub-assignments. (We will go into more detail about sub-assignments in a moment.) One of the things that we need to understand is that when we accept the assignment, the Kingdom begins to go into operation to provide the resources, time and anointing to accomplish that task. That sounds reasonable, but our paradigms can keep us from those resources to fulfill a given assignment. Let me give you an example:

For a pastor, each service is a Kingdom Assignment to accomplish something in the Kingdom of God — usually within the lives of those attending. When a pastor realizes each service can become a specific Kingdom Assignment, he will seek the face of God for instructions. Once he receives those instructions, he accepts that assignment. Immediately the Kingdom will begin realigning things within his spirit, his congregation and even the atmosphere to accomplish that assignment. Without this mindset, weekly services become a routine. The pastor and staff will find themselves going through the motions with little devotion. (I have been there and can speak from personal experience.) The sermons become “what the people want to hear.” The songs become “what the people want to sing.” We move from “divine visitation” to “Christian entertainment and motivational speaking.”

With a change in the pastor’s mindset, he will begin seeking the face of God for his assignment. He may turn the services upside down. One service may be all singing and prayer. Another service he may teach for the full two hours. In the next service, he may teach for twenty minutes and then begin moving prophetically in the congregation. No one will know what to expect each service, to include the devil! It will add a new excitement and expectancy within himself and his congregation.

I believe we do not experience many powerful things in God because we are not sensitive to Kingdom Assignments. Over the past week, God has been giving me one specific assignment a day. Yesterday, it was to design a new follow-up letter for those that had requested catalogs. The interesting thing is that the letter had little to do with the catalog and yet the anointing of God was all over it! At the beginning of the year, God instructed me to include a complete seminar on MP3 CD along with the catalog. It is our “Next Level Living” seminar that has already blessed so many of you. The letter was about a litmus test to see if Biblical Life was right for them. If God spoke into their lives through the free CD, Biblical Life was most likely the place God was calling them to study. If they received nothing from the CD, they needed to look elsewhere. I would have never thought of such a thing by myself. Once I accepted the assignment, the Holy Spirit began moving: the anointing, ability to write and understanding flowed. It was almost effortless, and the presence of God filled our office!

This morning God woke me up at 4:30am. (And I mean wide awake, not roll over and go back to sleep kind of awake.) I asked the LORD, “What is up? Do I need to do something?” He told me to eat breakfast and go into the office to write this article in the quiet before our normal work day. I am sitting here with a fine cup of coffee and enjoying writing more than I have in quite some time. It was a Kingdom Assignment, and the Kingdom is flowing in it.

If you are a pastor, you need to change your mindset to the one I have already described in this article. I promise you that if you do, you are going to shake some things up! If you are a student at Biblical Life or praying about enrolling, I want to speak a new mindset into your thinking. Attending  Biblical Life College and Seminary  is not like attending your average bible college or seminary. Most schools are about imparting information – in their case, biblical/theological information. At Biblical Life there is a lot of information, but also a Kingdom anointing for transformation. You cannot approach Biblical Life like you were going to a business college. There is an overload of spiritual truth, altering mindsets, pulling down of strongholds, kicking over sacred cows and anything else God needs to do to transform you.  Attending Biblical Life is a Kingdom Assignment, a divine calling to prepare you for the future.  If you approach it any other way, you will either get nothing out of it (because it is spiritually discerned) or your head will explode (figuratively speaking). BUT, if God has given you a Kingdom Assignment to study with Biblical Life and  you accept that assignment,  the King will release an anointing of a prophetic bible student into your spirit. You will receive a spiritual hunger for truth and the presence of God will surround you every time you sit down to your studies! I have hundreds of students that can testify to this very fact as well as hundreds that can testify the reverse, if you do not accept the assignment! Your mindset can either make you like the pastor going through the weekly routine or like the pastor that turns the services upside down!

Now Dealing with Sub-Assignments

I am going to handle this on two levels. First, when you enroll into BLCS using Plan B or C, we will ship you a volume with five complete courses in it. Do not just start with the first one and work your way through it. That is the way of traditional, secular schooling. Ask the Holy Spirit which one you are to start with. There may be something in a particular course He needs to speak into your life now. Let’s say the Holy Spirit instructs you to go through the course “Biblical Life Prayer Dynamics.” Accept that assignment and have the mindset that you are going to receive everything God has for you in that course, even if it turns your life inside out! I promise you that the course will take on a life of its own! God will speak to you through the lessons and will begin taking you deeper than you ever dreamed possible! You will learn more, experience more and change more! If you don’t, you are limiting yourself and the Holy Spirit.

Each day ask God for your daily Kingdom Assignments. Your long term assignment is to complete the program He called you to take at Biblical Life. But is today’s assignment to do the next lesson or will it be to go into intercession or minister to Jim down the road?  What is your assignment today?  Today’s assignment will have today’s anointing, insights, revelation and transformation. Miss the assignment, and you will miss out on all the resources of that assignment! Once you miss it, it is very hard to regain the same level. Obedience is ALWAYS better than sacrifice. Satan wants to keep you in “routine” mode. The routine may get it done, but it will be without the anointing, insights, revelation and transformation your assignment brings. Routine only accomplishes things through hard effort, but will have little spiritual value. Kingdom Assignments require less physical effort, but require higher levels of anointing, insights, revelation and transformation – which the King will release into the lives of those who accept His assignments.

Change your mindset from routine to assignment and watch the Kingdom of God go into operation in ways you never dreamed of. It will change your life!
