This is where you end your essay. A good conclusion would provide a brief summary of the key points of your essay, including the lessons you learned.

You can tell whether the holiday experience met your expectations, and how you feel about it even at the point of penning down your essay. Then state whether you plan to do anything in the future drawing inspiration from your holiday experience.

My Relaxing Holiday 200 Words

My last holiday was amazing! I did not travel to any new or interesting location, but I had a lot of fun staying home. I took time to enjoy early morning sleep every day. This alone felt like a treat after waking up early for school the entire term.

In the afternoons, I went outside to play with my friends. We played the soccer ball around in the park, and would enjoy pretending to famous athletes.

Sometimes during the holiday, it would rain. And when that happened, I just stayed inside and got cozy. I got a good book and devoured it with a mug of hot chocolate by my side. I also liked watching funny movies with my family and munching on popcorn.

In some evenings, we had barbecues in the backyard. We grilled hamburgers and hotdogs, while Dad told us stories about when he was a kid. I don’t think that anything can feel more special than spending so much time together.

Although I did not travel anywhere, my holiday was full of fun and relaxation. I feel recharged and ready to go back to school now!

My Last Holiday Adventure 250 Words

Since I have been spending my holidays, none had been as enjoyable as the last one. When we vacated last term, I spent two weeks at home in order to assist my parents in farm work. After this, I left for Onitsha in order to visit some places of interest.

I visited the modern and popular Niger bridge which links Onitsha and Asaba, Mid-West. I also visited the famous Onitsha Main Market. It has no rival in comparison in West Africa just as Ibadan Liberty Stadium has no comparison in West Africa. When I was being taken round the great Onitsha Main Market by a friend, I observed that traders in their respective stalls felt at home. Some of them tuned in their radio sets. They were happy.

I spent one week at Onitsha and departed for Enugu. When I was at Enugu I visited the Eastern Nigeria Parliament, and I saw Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe’s Statue just close to the house of Assembly. I also visited Enugu Airport and several other places of interest. I spent five days in Enugu and departed for Lagos by a train. “Lagos Limited”, and that was my first time of entering train. When I reached Lagos, I hardly believed that it was a town in Nigeria. It was very beautiful indeed just like London.

When I was in Lagos, I went to the House of Representatives, the Senate, National Stadium, Air- port, Tinubu Square and other places of interest.

I spent 5 days in Lagos and returned home to resume School. I wrote a story on all my observations in the journey.

My Last Holiday Essay 300 Words

Last summer, I went on a trip that I will not easily forget. This is because it meant much more to me than just a vacation; rather, my perception was changed.

I had never been in Thailand before the holiday but only heard of its beauty. Finally visiting the country made my holiday worthwhile. The place was so different from home! Their market was busy with many colorful items for sale and their food was so delicious. I tried several new and amazing dishes, and they were all lovely. While in Thailand, I couldn’t fail to notice how beautiful their temples are with roofs gold plated and other carvings done wonderfully.

I am an outdoor kind of person. That is why spending time in nature during my holiday made me very happy. Some days I would hike through forests while others would find me relaxing at the beach. On one fine morning, I woke up early to witness sunrise over New Zealand’s mountains. It was simply breathtaking and that made me feel alive.

Lastly, to add some holiday fun into it; i did some daring activities too. For instance, skydiving and bungee jumping were included in my itinerary. Although at first scared, it turned out pretty awesome! I learned that it’s good to challenge yourself and try new things sometimes.

Looking back on my last holiday, I feel very grateful for all the experiences I had. I discovered a lot of new things and also made new friends. Yes, the holiday is over, but the memories I made will stay with me forever.

There was nothing to worry about, however. My mom’s old friend lives there, and she helped greatly in arranging matters. She was kind to inspect the apartment offers found on the Net. Her husband, who is a civil engineer, commented then on all the pros and cons in each case, so that we could make up our minds more easily. He also recommended a reliable van line – they delivered all the breakables we decided to transport safely. Not to pay too much for transportation, we thought it wiser to buy some of the furniture and major appliances when already at the new place.

And that’s where Christmas shopping campaigns (which I usually find too hectic to my taste) came in handy. Due to numerous discount offers, bonuses and other perks, such as free delivery, we managed to furnish our new home with nicest things without it costing us an arm and a leg. Of course, touring the shops took us not one day but ten, but every minute spent was definitely worth it. I was lucky to participate in it all – thus I had the better part of December off school (well, I just had to work harder for a while at my former school).

After we bought the necessary furniture and home appliances, Mom and Dad got busy with some minor repairs and redecoration. As for Christmas ornaments, they delegated this task wholly to me. Oh, how glad I was! I can say I love festive preparations not less than the celebration itself, so I set about the task with all my heart.

For inspiration, I went window-gazing every day; those walks were magical in and of themselves thanks to light snowfalls that lasted a week. The streets were beautiful; I also visited malls. I sauntered past shop windows, took snapshots of designs I liked, and then discussed them with Mom and Dad. We brainstormed the best suggestions, and next I went to collect supplies for the DIY-able things and buy some ready-made ornaments. After that, with time free from school at my disposal, I devoted myself to creativity. It was bliss – if I’d had to attend classes, like it was every December before, I wouldn’t have even half the opportunity to indulge in all the arts and crafts that I love. I made fabric accessories, felted and papier-mâché ornaments, bunting, table decoration, greeting cards and gift wrapping.

Apart from that, I gave a hand in redecoration, too. While Mom was busy cooking, Dad and I went on pasting new wallpapers, hanging curtains and light fixtures. After a few more days of work, we made another tour to stock on groceries (which was a bargain, too due to all the special offers); then all that was left was arranging the furniture, buying a Christmas tree, decorating the place and preparing dinner.

On December, 25 we invited Mom’s friends over to our place. We presented them with a set of designer ceramic vases for their beautiful home, and they gave us a fondue pot, some fine Belgian chocolate and a pound of delicious strawberries which we relished as well as our long chat that wonderful Christmas night.

The journey started with a depletion on the inside. I could feel I was wearing off like a candle wick that was burning with no pause. It got deeper and it started to reflect in my words. “Please, I’m tired”, or “I’m going to be tired”. The distress predicted my state of mind.

I wasn’t sure if this was the fault of “Centre of Exhaustion” but I knew the city bore most of the blame. It could be it was getting close to the end of the year and my mind was fatigued from all the work I did in the previous months. The work that made me so proud of myself and the almost perfect human I’d become. But, I was tired.

I met an old friend who was warm enough to request to see me when he arrived at Africa’s busiest city. It wasn’t a request I’d accept but I did. There was time to see him and no concrete excuse why I couldn’t. We talked, caught up with our lives, ate, laughed, talked some more. Before we exchanged closing pleasantries, he asked, “Will you come home this Christmas?” Without thinking, I said, “No! I’m not coming.” “But, you should try”, he said. “Try and come home now your parents can recognize you. Not when they can’t, you’ll be struggling to stay around them”. I was silent. Then I blurted, “but, I can’t afford it nau! I don’t want to stress myself”. What a perfect excuse hanging on my lips.

I’m heading back home in an Uber and his words were hanging over my head like a halo. “Father, all right, I get the message. What would you have me do?”, I asked The Comforter. I asked him because I was sure it was Him. The effects He has on His children always stand out. Through the most exotic means, He made a way…

I called my mum to tell her I was coming for Christmas. We spoke about it weeks earlier and she knew I wasn’t keen on it. But this call brought the excitement she needed. That’s where the healing started. It felt like the depletion was approaching its end. My excitement started. I would tell people around me in a modest way so I don’t sell my enthusiasm too much. But I knew they could tell. Some would reply, “So you’re going to the village?” “Yes! I’m going home for Christmas”. The response usually ended with a smirk.

When I got home, I noticed there was no Christmas tree, lights, or decoration. The house felt so bare and without the Christmas ambiance. This wasn’t enough to put me off but I felt disoriented. I’m back to my conversation with The Comforter, “Ok, So why am I here? You wouldn’t bring me down here if you didn’t have an assignment for me”. “TRUST ME”. I didn’t hear these words but His peace delivered the message to me.

Even then, there were a couple of “please find attached” mails going on a few days to Christmas. Yet asking “Can you hear me?” in my virtual meetings. Up to this time following up with all parties pending on their deliverables. The roles and responsibilities of the position required it done. This made me see how my parents esteemed my work. They’ll let me be anytime my laptop is in front of me. My youngest brother would peep in on my virtual meetings or stand at a distance and watch my lips when I’m on the phone. If I wasn’t using the system, he would want to take over to watch movies or play games. Yes, the joy of younger siblings!

I loved how my parents displayed absolute joy in having me back. It was too obvious to go unnoticed. It’s the way they chipped in the information in their calls to those they considered relevant to know. “Mama, is back… Yes, my first daughter. She flew in on Monday”. Or, “Ok, I’ll come with Mama. She’s back”. There was even a “Did you know Theresa is back? Won’t you come and see her?”. Their joy banned me from complaining. The follow-up action was to uphold the high repute created.

It was easy for me regardless. I’m a sucker for the surprised facial expressions people give when they see me. I usually respond with a gleeful mime, a funny jump, a loud laugh, or a wide smile. I loved meeting people of the neighborhood; the church I grew up in; family gatherings, and other places that had familiar faces or memories.

On Christmas Day, there was a failed attempt to attend service that morning. We all woke up late. Our compensation was an invitation by my father’s cousin for a family meet and greet. My father shares an admirable bromance with his cousin. It’s the same bromance that exists with his brothers. Sometimes I imagine how our generation would be if we had this level of authenticity in love.

My uncle has 30 grandchildren at the age of 76. Unmatched is his strength. He’s strong enough to scold his family about being late to scheduled meetings. He’s filled with the strength to organize his family. He’s vibrant to share soft jokes with his grandchildren. It was beautiful to see. After the catchup, eating correct local meals, and listening to high-level adult jokes, I still asked my invisible friend, “What am I doing here?” “Be patient”, I heard. Some moments later, my mum asked if I wanted to leave with her. I said no. I sat there like I was waiting for a delivery.

My uncle’s last son who’s named after my father walks up to me. A spitting image of his father. He and his right-hand man ushered me to the balcony for a chat. About 10 minutes into the conversation, I realized this was the reason I was waiting. I had the opportunity to share my experience and knowledge about the music business industry. I was so impressed by the foundational knowledge he and his group possessed for their music career. I was and still am excited about their music and vision.

Nonetheless, this was where it started for me. I inclined my ears to receive more instructions on what to do during my stay. My eyes began to see how The Holy Spirit had transformed my mind and heart. My heart was eager to receive His presence and pump out love to all.

I recognized that there was an abundance of love in me. The love possessed the ability to protect me from fiery darts that dared to come my way. The atmosphere around me was soft, full of good cheer and laughter. This was a defining moment because I used to have heart-wrenching experiences at home. It used to be intense fights and abuse of every form with my mum. Days of cold silence that messed up my psychology came after. Whenever I thought of home there was bitterness in my heart. The kind birthed from pain and regret. I reached the point where I allowed The Holy Spirit to do His work in me and my life changed completely. He showed me how it was my responsibility to live at peace with everyone and owe no one nothing but love. I still bask in the euphoria of this transformation. The call to spread Love and Light is for everyone to answer. It is for God’s children to step into His presence and allow His promises to come to pass. He wants the best for us and all we have to do is trust Him.

The cherry on the cake experience for me was my day-long meeting with GrandPa. I was heartened by his request to be the first person he sees when he arrived home. The conversations we have are as refreshing as morning water. I never forget the history, wisdom, and discernment he shares with me. I always feel closer to the family members that lived before my birth because I connect strongly with their stories. I am filled with soul-enriching stories about my village, and my father’s parents. I am reminded of my assignment as a daughter of the Etukudo Udondagh family and the great community of Idung Uso, Eket. The reminder that “I am because they were” resurfaces with no effort.

My Christmas holiday was a demonstration of my trust in Abba. My confident belief in Him, His Love, His Word, and His Power.
