Getting Adobe Creative Cloud apps for free

Although Adobe Creative Cloud applications are generally available through paid subscription plans, there are ways to access and use some of the apps for free. In this section, we will discuss the options for obtaining free access to Adobe Creative Cloud applications and the limitations that come with them.

Free trial options

Adobe offers free trial versions of most Creative Cloud applications, allowing users to explore and test the tools before committing to a paid plan. Here’s what you need to know about Adobe Creative Cloud free trials:

  • Trial duration: Adobe Creative Cloud free trials typically last for 7 days, providing ample time to test the app’s features and functionality.
  • Access to features: During the trial period, you’ll have access to the full range of features available in the paid version of the app.
  • Download and installation: To access the free trial, visit the Adobe Creative Cloud website, select the desired app, and click on the “Free Trial” button. You’ll need an Adobe ID to start the trial, and the software will be downloaded and installed on your device.

Limitations and restrictions

While Adobe Creative Cloud free trials offer a valuable opportunity to test the apps, there are some limitations and restrictions that you should be aware of:

  • Trial expiration: Once the 7-day trial period ends, the application will become inaccessible, and you’ll need to subscribe to a paid plan to continue using it.
  • One-time trial: The free trial is typically available only once per Adobe ID. Creating multiple Adobe IDs to access repeated trials is against Adobe’s terms of service and may result in account suspension.
  • Limited cloud storage: The free trial versions do not include the full range of cloud storage options available in paid plans.

Upgrading from free trials

If you decide that the Adobe Creative Cloud app you tested during the free trial is a good fit for your needs, you can easily upgrade to a paid subscription plan:

  • Choose the appropriate plan: Review the various pricing plans available for individuals, businesses, students, and educators to determine the best option for you.
  • Upgrade process: To upgrade from a trial to a paid subscription, sign in to your Adobe account, navigate to the “Plans & Products” section, and select the desired plan. The billing process will begin, and your subscription will be activated.
  • Seamless transition: Upgrading from a trial to a paid plan is a seamless process, and you can continue working on your projects without losing any work or settings from the trial period.

Before we dwell on the pricing structure and its options, let’s lay down the basics of Adobe Creative Cloud (Adobe CC) .

Adobe Stock: get a free 30-day Trial!

As you can guess from such a transparent name, this is Adobe’s cloud-based platform that hosts over twenty media editing apps for creatives, all in one place.

All the popular photo editing and video editing tools that made Adobe famous, like the flagship Photoshop –which is now updated with AI features –, are there. But the service is complete with apps for web and UX design, 3D modeling, file management, and more.

Here is the main lineup of Creative Cloud applications:

  • Adobe Stock
  • Illustrator
  • Premiere Pro
  • Premiere Rush
  • After Effects
  • Dreamweaver
  • Acrobat Pro

When you add complementary, task-focused apps such as Photoshop Express, Adobe Fresco, or Media Encoder, you end up with an impressive array of over 20 applications. While the core of the offer, the apps alone aren't the only highlight of Creative Cloud. Some of the main benefits are:

  • No Local Storage: With this platform, you work on the cloud, so you are not required to install heavy applications on your device. No desktop apps, no mobile apps.
  • Compatibility: Being cloud-based you don't have to worry about it at all. You can run Creative Cloud on Apple devices as well as on Microsoft-powered computers. Mac OS, Windows, and even iOS and Google Android systems are all compatible.
  • Mobile-optimized: M ost Creative Cloud apps have been optimized for mobile use. Things like Adobe Photoshop or Lightroom CC can be used on your iPad or tablet, even your iPhone or Android phone, without sacrificing functionality or quality. This is ideal when you're working on the go or creating content for social media.

This means you can no longer buy an Adobe application outright, but instead need to get an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription . It also implies you no longer need to download and install any of these software tools on your Mac or PC, all you need to do is log in to your Creative Cloud account and use them on the cloud.

Adobe Creative Cloud Summary 1 > Adobe Creative Cloud Pricing Breakdown: Find your Perfect Plan

All of these Adobe apps that were once available for purchase and install are now on the Adobe Creative Cloud and locked behind a paid subscription threshold. The pricing then refers to the cost of a subscription that gives you access to the platform.

Due to how many applications there are and the variety of tasks they perform in the creative spectrum, Adobe has designed different plans with access to different apps and comes with a set cloud storage space.

As we said, the cost of a membership is tied to what it includes, and also to how long you’re hiring it for. Pretty much all the Adobe CC plans come with three buying options:

  • Month-to-month
  • Annually billed monthly
  • Annually billed yearly

You tend to get a better price the longer your upfront commitment is.

Now let’s get down to business!

Next, we detail the costs of all Creative Cloud memberships and what they include. Keep in mind these plans and prices are intended for individual users.

Adobe Creative Cloud All Apps Plan

By far the most complete option is the “All Apps” plan, which gives you access to all the Creative Cloud tools at once, plus 100GB of cloud storage. This membership also comes with Adobe Portfolio, a great platform to arrange and showcase your creative work online, as well as Adobe Spark.

Adobe Creative Cloud All Apps Prices > Adobe Creative Cloud Pricing Breakdown: Find your Perfect Plan

Due to how much it’s included, pricing for this all-app subscription is the highest –yet very affordable. These are the prices for all app plans:

What's cool is that right now Adobe is running a limited-time Creative Cloud Free Trial that lets you try the All Apps plan for free for 7 days!

More good news! If you're in the US, Canada, or Mexico, for this week only you can get your Individual All Apps plan with 25% off! Get the discount below!

Individual Apps

It’s also possible to subscribe to one (or several) individual app(s) according to your needs. The main apps we listed above are all available for individual subscriptions. They all come with 100GB of storage, and prices range between $4.99 and $20.99 –this corresponds to the monthly billed annual membership– depending on the specific tool.

Adobe Stock: A Valuable Add-On

L et’s talk about Adobe Stock . A stock photo service offered by Adobe, that is fully integrated into Creative Cloud.

It has millions of stock photos, vector graphics, video clips, soundtracks, even 3D models, and more. All content is available directly from your Creative Cloud applications, you can launch it from the media library tab on the apps’ interfaces. What’s even better, you can browse, search, test edit, and license files from Adobe Stock to use in your projects without ever leaving your virtual workspace.

What’s to be noted is that Adobe Stock is integrated, but not included in Creative Cloud memberships. What does this mean? That you can add an Adobe Stock subscription to any plan you have for Creative Cloud, at an additional cost.

Adobe Stock plans start at $29,99 per month, you can go here for all details on how much Adobe Stock costs . And you can also check our complete Adobe Stock review for more info.

The best thing last, that you can try Adobe Stock for free with the great Adobe Stock Free Trial and download up to 10 free images for 30 days!

Adobe Creative Cloud for Business

If you run a company or work as part of a creative team in a company, the individual plans might obstacle collaboration and slow down your workflow. But don’t despair, because Adobe has Creative Cloud Business plans available for this specific case. Here is what they offer:

www.adobe.com teams

As you see, you can opt between an All Apps plan or a Single App subscription. These are all billed monthly, and they come with multi-user access (with discounts for more than 10 users), collaboration functionality, and 1TB of storage. Additional perks include admin control, license reassignment, 24/7 support, one-on-one sessions with design experts, and more.

Adobe Creative Cloud for Education (Students & Teachers)

In the same fashion, there is a special offer for those using Creative Cloud tools for educational purposes , such as students and teachers. For them, Adobe provides annual access to the All Apps plan, for only $19.99 for the first year and $29.99 for the second year. This effectively saves 60% of the regular price for this membership, so it’s a generous offer for those learning and teaching creative skills!

Finally, there are also tailored solutions for educational entities like schools and universities.

What About Other Stock Media Resources?

Adobe Stock is by far the best match for Creative Cloud, but not by any means the only stock media provider compatible. Most of the top stock photo sites sell images –and other media– in formats compatible with Adobe's software tools, and some even have their plugins and integrations, such as the Shutterstock Adobe Plugin , for example, to make workflow easier.

If you wish to know the best stock photo sites to use with Creative Cloud, check out our list of 6 brilliant Adobe Stock alternatives!

Like any other service, its usefulness and convenience depend on your personal needs (or the needs of your business). But in general lines, it’s undeniable that it is a top-notch platform for designers and creatives, and its pros fairly outweigh the cons.

Quickly rounding up, Adobe Creative Cloud offers:

  • Professional-grade, powerful design tools
  • Cloud-based service that requires no installation
  • Complete design assisting apps that centralize your workflow
  • Mobile-friendly tools that work great on an iPad or tablet as well as on Smartphones and of course on desktop or laptop computers

As an extra note, we need to mention that Adobe.com is worldwide known for its unparalleled tech development, they are constantly upgrading Creative Cloud apps with new features and improved functionality, and they are a household name in the design universe.

If any of these sounds appealing to you, then finding a membership that fits your budget is going to be worthwhile. Adobe Creative Cloud can easily pay itself many times over when you work creatively!

YouTube is Losing The War Against Adblockers

5 things i never back up to the cloud, spectrum just raised its prices again, quick links, every adobe program, under one service, what does adobe creative cloud include, is adobe creative cloud worth it.

Adobe Creative Cloud  combines all of Adobe's industry-leading applications in one service. Find out what a subscription includes, and who should use it.

If you work in design, media, marketing, or photography, you've likely already used one or more of the programs in the Adobe Creative software suite. Apps like Photoshop, Premiere, and Lightroom are the industry standard for creatives.

However, Adobe's  individual software licenses  used to be prohibitively expensive---especially if you're a freelancer or independent professional.

Adobe Photography Photoshop Lightroom

Creative Cloud (CC) is Adobe's way of making a wide array of its programs available as a service. Instead of a one-time purchase, you pay a monthly subscription fee. The fee varies depending on how many apps you use. CC also includes additional services to improve your creative workflows, such as 100 GB of cloud storage, a customizable portfolio website via Adobe Portfolio, and access to Adobe's extensive font library.

The options and prices for individuals are:

  • All apps ($52.99 per month/$599.88 per year): You get access to the entire array of Creative Cloud apps, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Illustrator, and Adobe XD.
  • Photography Plan ($9.99 per month/$119.88 per year): This option provides photographers with access to Lightroom, Photoshop , and 20 GB of cloud storage. You can also opt for a plan that includes 1 TB of cloud storage for $19.99 per month.
  • Single apps:  You can also subscribe to each app individually. Single-app plans range from $4.99 to $20.99 per month, depending on the software you choose. These subscriptions also include 100 GB of cloud storage and access to Adobe Fonts.

Individual Creative Cloud plans are a great deal if you're a creative professional who relies on one or more Adobe programs.

If you're a business owner who also needs features like workflow management and collaborative video editing, check out Adobe's business plans.

Adobe Creative Cloud Components

In addition to Adobe's video- and image-editing programs that have been around for decades, you also get access to apps and services that are fairly new. This can be a great way to learn new skills.

The following are some of Adobe's newer services with which you might be unfamiliar:

  • Spark: These apps allow you to quickly create web-based content on both mobile and the web. Spark Page allows you to make responsive web pages. You can also produce graphics for social media with Spark Post, or create short video stories with Spark Video.
  • Premiere Rush: An alternative to Premiere Pro, this program is for online content creators who want to edit videos quickly. It features a streamlined interface with fewer features. Premiere Rush projects can also be opened in Premiere Pro for further editing. An integrated mobile app is also included.
  • XD:  This User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) design tool for web and mobile is particularly for those who formerly used Photoshop and Illustrator to design interfaces.
  • Portfolio:  This tool allows you to build a personalized website to show off your work---especially anything you've created with the Adobe software suite. It's included with most Adobe Creative Cloud plans.
  • Fonts:  Most plans also provide access to Adobe's comprehensive library of fonts , which are compatible with every program in the CC.

While it's unlikely one person would need every service in Creative Cloud, it's nice to keep your options open. You can install or uninstall each Adobe program individually.

There's a case to be made that it's more expensive to pay for a subscription long-term, rather than paying for a single, permanent software license. However, the consistent updates, cloud services, and access to new features make Adobe Creative Cloud a fantastic value. The all apps plan is great for creative professionals and content creators, as most use some combination of these programs.

If you ever switch careers or no longer need any of the apps, you can simply end your subscription. There are also several affordable alternatives to the Adobe suite you might want to check out.

Students or teachers who have the credentials should also look into Adobe's student pricing. An all-access plan costs $19.99 per month for the first year, and then $29.99 for the second and onward. To be eligible, all you need is a university email address or a document proving your institutional affiliation.

Adobe also offers a free trial of CC, so you can try out the service before you subscribe.

Adobe Creative Cloud pricing: How to get the best deal

Karen Haslam

Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, and Acrobat are well known apps used by creative professionals. There was once a time when all these apps, known collectively as Adobe Creative Suite, were purchased on disc and installed on Macs throughout the creative and publishing industries, but this eventually evolved into the subscription-based Adobe Creative Cloud.

Adobe recently put its prices up, so if you are on the look out for savings look no further. We track the discounts Adobe offers so you know when and where to look for the best deals.

In this guide, we will explain all the ways you can now buy Adobe’s apps. We’ll explain how much Adobe Creative Cloud costs, what the best way to purchase it is (monthly, annually, or another way), whether you can get it for free, and what happens if you cancel your subscription.

We’ll also include the best ways to save money, how you can use Adobe CC apps without committing to a subscription, and how you can buy the apps, such as Photoshop and Acrobat, separately.

So, if you are looking for Photoshop or Premiere Pro, wondering whether you need Creative Cloud to run Acrobat Pro, or even wondering whether you can cancel your Adobe CC subscription, you have come to the right place.

UPDATED JULY 2024 with details of Adobe’s Creative Cloud All Apps deal in the U.S. where it is possible to save 40% on the monthly subscription price. In the U.K. the deal is 50% off for the first three months.

Best Adobe Creative Cloud deals right now

Adobe Creative Cloud costs $659.88 / £656.21 (was $599.88/£596.33) a year if bought directly from Adobe (on the annual prepaid plan). But you don’t have to spend that much.

Until August 4, 2024, Adobe is discounting the Creative Cloud All Apps plan in the U.S.

In the U.S. prices are 40% off, that’s $35.99 a month for the first year, usually $59.99.

In the U.K. the deal isn’t quite so good, but it doesn’t seem to be limited to an end date of August 4. Instead, prices are £27.98 a month for the first three months, then revert to the full price of £56.98 a month for the following nine months. Adobe ran a similar deal in the U.K. in 2023 where new customers could get 50% off for 6 months if they signed up by May 18, 2023. Back then U.K. shoppers could get the Creative Cloud apps for £25.99 a month (usually £51.98 a month) for 6 months.

In addition to the deal for Creative Cloud, Adobe is also offering U.K. shoppers a lower price for Photoshop for three months. Usually £21.98 a month the deal is £9.98 a month for three months.

Prime Day deals

You may be wondering if Adobe has certain times of the year when it is more likely to discount the Creative Cloud products. The company has been known to discount Creative Cloud over on Amazon during Amazon Prime Day, for example. During Prime Day customers with a subscription to Amazon Prime (which costs  $14.99  /  £8.99  /  AUD$6.99  every month, but can be canceled after 30 days) can grab bargains.

Adobe had a U.K. deal over Amazon Prime Day in July 2024 when it was possible for U.K. Amazon Prime members to get the complete Adobe Creative Cloud for £395.99 for one year. It normally costs £659.88 for the year, so that’s a saving of £263.89! Unfortunately, that deal is no longer running. In 2023 the deal was slightly better: Prime members could get the complete Adobe Creative Cloud for £378.99 for one year, down from £596.33 for a year.

During Prime Day in July 2024, Adobe didn’t run a U.S.-focused deal, but the company had previously. For Amazon Prime Day in July 2023 shoppers could get the complete Adobe Creative Cloud for $359.99 , down from $599.88 a year.

Back to school deals

Adobe offers a cut price deal on the Creative Cloud apps for students all year round, but those prices are a little better for the Back To School buying period. Students in the U.S. can get Creative Cloud All Apps for $19.99 a month (down from the usual student price of $29.99 or the full $59.99 a month), while U.K. students can get Creative Cloud All Apps for £16.24 a month (down from the usual student price of £24.96 a month or the full £56.98 a month).

Black Friday deals

Another time you might be able to pick up a deal is during Black Friday.

For Black Friday 2022 Adobe discounted the yearly price as well as monthly subscription prices of Creative Cloud for students, individuals and business users. More here: Adobe’s Black Friday deal slashes Creative Cloud subscription .

Best Price for Adobe Creative Cloud right now

The best Adobe CC prices, if you pay upfront, will appear below. From time to time we have seen significant discounts at Amazon:

Adobe Creative Cloud: now $659.88 / £656.21 a year (was $599.88/£596.33) a year, or $59.99/£56.98 a month

What is Adobe Creative Cloud?

The first iteration of Adobe Creative Cloud arrived back in 2011, offering subscribers the option to pay an annual or monthly subscription for access to the most up-to-date version of the Creative Suite apps. At first, Adobe ran this option alongside Creative Suite, with CS6 launching in 2013, but Adobe eventually discontinued CS6 leaving creative pros with no other option than to subscribe to the software.

There are benefits to both Adobe and its customers with the subscription model: Adobe’s customers will always have the most recent version of Adobe’s software, and Adobe won’t find that most of its customers are still using five-year-old versions of its software with no motivation to update to a new version of the expensive software (as was no doubt the case in most offices and studios).

The problem with the subscription model is that pricing can be very complex, added to that is the fact that there are multiple apps to choose from – some of which may not be required by every customer. The Adobe Creative Cloud offering needs some clarification and in this article we will seek to do that.

If you are looking for the best Mac for designers , best Mac for photo editing , or the best Mac for video editing , be sure to read our guides. We also have a round-up of alternatives to Photoshop and free photo editors .

Adobe Creative Cloud pricing

There are various ways to buy Creative Cloud. You can subscribe to All Apps, Photography Plans with 20GB cloud space and another with 1TB cloud, a Lightroom Plan, as well as options for subscribing to single apps. These different packages will suit different types of users. For example, you may only need Photoshop, in which case you won’t want to pay for all the other apps too.

Once you have decided what software you want, the next choice is how you are going to pay for it. In most cases, Adobe offers three different ways to pay. Monthly on-contract, monthly off-contract, or in advance for the year.

The best deals are usually for an annual subscription paid monthly, but this does tie you into a contract and if you cancel you may have to pay 50% of the remaining contract. If you would prefer to be able to cancel at any time then the monthly deal where you pay a bit more, but if you no longer need the software you can cancel, may appeal. This could be a great way to get an app that you don’t need long-term.

Alternatively, you may be purchasing licenses for a design studio and therefore will be looking for the best deal for multiple seats. In that case, you will be looking at the Business contracts, which are offered on a per-seat basis. There is also education pricing that should help if you are studying and specific pricing for education institutions.

When it comes to subscribing to single apps, such as Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, InDesign and so on, the pricing is usually as follows (note pricing increased a little for individual apps in 2023):

  . .
Annual plan, paid monthly$20.99£19.97
Annual plan, paid upfront$239.88£238.42
Monthly plan, cancel at any time$31.49£30.34

But the best deals are on the bundles, if you need two Adobe apps you might as well subscribe to All Apps as the price is:

. .
Annual plan, paid monthly$59.99 ($35.99 deal)£56.98 (£27.98 for three months)
Annual plan, paid upfront$659.88 ($35.99 deal)£656.21
Monthly plan, cancel at any time$89.99£85.48

We’ll look in more detail at each of the Adobe Creative Cloud purchase options below.

Can I get Adobe CC apps for free?

If you want the full version of Creative Cloud for free there is a free seven-day trial (here).

In addition to this, you can cancel your subscription within 14 days of your order and be refunded. So theoretically you could have a seven-day trial, then sign up for Adobe CC, and after two weeks cancel. Which would effectively give you three weeks.

As we said above, if you don’t fancy committing to a year-long contract with Adobe then you can sign up for the more expensive monthly plan that allows you to cancel without having to pay your way out of the contract, this works out at $89.99/£85.48 a month.

As an alternative to the free trial, you may be able to meet your requirements with Adobe’s free web-only app called Adobe Express (previously known as Adobe Spark). Adobe describes Express as a tool for social graphics and more, but this online web app also includes a number of useful photo-editing tools that are available for free through any web browser (we include it in our round-up of free photo editing apps ).

Can I get Adobe Photoshop for free?

If it’s a free version of Photoshop you are after, there is a free version of Photoshop . Read about How to get Photoshop for free here . This is a limited, web-only version of Photoshop and anyone can upload an image and edit it here (note it is only compatible with Chrome and Edge). You can easily remove a background and combine it with another image, for example. You will need to create an account before you can download your creations, you can use your Apple ID to do so.

Students don’t get Adobe Creative Cloud for free, but they can get some good discounts – which are better at some times than others.

For the Back To School buying period, as of July 2024, students in the U.S. can get Creative Cloud All Apps for $19.99 a month (down from the usual student price of $29.99 or the full $59.99 a month), while U.K. students can get Creative Cloud All Apps for £16.24 a month (down from the usual student price of £24.96 a month or the full £56.98 a month).

Where individual apps cost you $19.99/£19.97 a month on the annual plan, the All Apps deal gives you every one of Adobe’s CC apps for $59.99/£56.98 a month. Deals at certain times of the year will offer a discount on this price.

But, if you only need the software temporarily, the best option for you might be to sign up for the more expensive of the two monthly plans since you can cancel at any time.

Adobe’s All Apps plan includes the following apps: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe XD, Lightroom, Acrobat Pro, Animate, Dreamweaver, Premiere Pro, Premiere Rush, After Effects, Dimension, Audition, InCopy, Lightroom Classic, Media Encoder, Character Animator, Prelude, Fuse, Bridge, plus 100GB of cloud storage, Adobe Portfolio, Adobe Fonts, and Adobe Spark.

How to buy Photoshop

Photoshop

Photoshop is arguably Adobe’s most famous app, or at least one of them. Indeed, the phrase to have “Photoshopped” something is a frequently used verb in this modern age of faked photos.

Adobe’s Photoshop software is primarily used for editing photos, allowing users to adapt color and light, apply effects, remove objects, and refine the image.

If you want to buy the Adobe Photoshop permanently or temporarily there are a number of options. Two include Lightroom, Lightroom Classic and Photoshop, on desktop and iPad, and either 20GB or 1TB cloud storage. You can also buy Photoshop alone (which adds a monthly, cancel at any time, subscription option. Alternatively try out the free, web-based version of Photoshop .

How to buy Lightroom

Lightroom CC

If you are a photographer then the Lightroom app may be of interest. Lightroom offers some image editing features and presets you can use to add filters to your photos, but it also offers organization tools to help you store and locate your images.

Lightroom is available as part of the two Photography Plans detailed above, but if all you need is Lightroom then you can purchase the Lightroom Plan. There used to be a monthly plan where you could cancel at any time (for $79.49/£75.85) but it appears that Adobe no longer offers this option.

How to buy Acrobat Pro

Acrobat is another Adobe app that’s pretty well known. There are actually multiple Acrobat apps though, which can be a cause of confusion with people wondering whether they need to pay for Actobat, and even if they need to buy Adobe Creative Cloud to get Acrobat.

Adobe offers the free Acrobat Reader (review) , Adobe Acrobat Standard and Adobe Acrobat Pro. There’s also a new AI assistant for Acrobat which costs an extra $4.99/£4.98 a month.

If you are just looking for an app to allow you to read and fill in PDFs, then the free Adobe Reader should be enough. If you need to create PDFs you could just create a document on your Mac and choose Print > PDF and edit in Preview. But we’ll assume that you need to create a PDF with a little more finesse.

Acrobat Standard wasn’t previously available for Mac, but that isn’t the case anymore. You can get Acrobat Standard on Adobe’s website for $12.99 / £13.14 a month, you won’t find that version on the Creative Cloud shopfront. Acrobat Standard lacks some of the features of Acrobat Pro but both make it possible to create and edit a PDF.

You need Acrobat Pro if you want to do things like convert scanned documents into searchable and editable PDFs, or add audio, video, and interactive objects. Acrobat Pro also works on iPad and iPhone.

If you need Acrobat Pro, here’s how the pricing is structured:

How much do Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects cost?

Premiere Pro

Most of the other apps Adobe groups together under the Creative Cloud umbrella are available separately for a fixed price.

In addition to those we’ve mentioned above, you can get each of the following apps on either a monthly or an annual plan:

  • Illustrator
  • Premiere Pro
  • After Effects
  • Dreamweaver

Prices start at £19.97 / $20.99 for the monthly plan if you sign up for the whole year.

As we said above, if you don’t want to sign up for a one-year contract, the best option is to choose the monthly plan that you can cancel at any time. Alternatively, if a week is all you need then the seven-day trial might be an option, details here .

Adobe also offers a few apps at a lower price, these include InCopy and Premiere Rush.

How many computers can you use a license on

Once you have subscribed you can install the software on two computers. So, if you have Photoshop in the office you are able to also have it on your computer at home.

What you can’t do is run the software on both computers at the same time – but you can, at least, still be signed in on your work computer.

In fact, you can install the software on more than two computers, but it will only work on the third computer if you aren’t signed in on one of the others.

If you are unable to sign out of one of these computers you can go to the account management page and sign out there.

Where can I download the Adobe CC software?

Once you are subscribed to Adobe CC – or the individual apps, you will be able to download them from Adobe’s website here.

How to cancel Adobe Creative Cloud subscription

There is a 14-day period after purchasing your Creative Cloud subscription when you can cancel and be refunded.

As we explained above, if you are likely to want to cancel your subscription within a year then you would be wise to choose the monthly payment plan that doesn’t mean you will be locked into a contract for a year. The price is more, but you won’t have to pay Adobe anything to break the contract.

If you choose a monthly plan that is based on an annual contract then you may have to pay 50% of what you still have left to pay Adobe on cancellation of the contract. So, if you were to cancel after four months you would potentially have to pay half of what you would owe for the next eight months.

To cancel contact Adobe Customer Support here.

The Differences Between Types of Creative Cloud Membership: CC for Teams vs. Individuals

What are the differences between the types of Creative Cloud membership? This is a question we get a lot, so here’s a handy comparison guide on the major differences between Creative Cloud for Teams vs. CC for Individuals. In another article, we already covered the all the differences between Creative Cloud Student & Teacher vs. regular editions.

Creative Cloud for Teams is Adobe’s volume licensing solution for businesses, studios, design shops, agencies, companies, offices, schools, and other organizations. It includes everything that CC for Individuals does , but gives you substantially more features and capabilities for managing and working with different users. It’s meant for groups (such as small to midsize businesses and departments) with multiple seats using the products at the same time. For large businesses, Adobe recommends Creative Cloud for Enterprise .

Adobe continues to increase the benefits of the Teams bundle. Here are a few of the advantages the Teams plan has added since its initial launch in 2012:

  • All Teams plans include Adobe Talent , powered by Behance. This means all Teams subscribers get unlimited job postings on the world’s largest creative network, a US$399/month value included at no extra cost.
  • Recently, all Teams plans received a storage upgrade from 100 GB previously to 1 TB included now per user , pooled across the group.
  • New since 2022, Teams and Enterprise customers now also have access to Frame.io video collaboration tools , in addition to Team Projects .
  • Also new: 180-day extended version histories for cloud documents, compared to the standard 30-day version histories.

A fast way to get a sense of all the differences is to check out Adobe’s CC Plans-at-a-Glance comparison page for business – click to open for more details:

So the Teams offering provides everything that Creative Cloud for Individuals does, which means open access to the world’s best creative tools (all of the same desktop apps, services, and feature upgrades as soon as they are released) – plus unique workgroup capabilities for enhanced file sharing and collaboration, flexible and efficient license management (for adding, removing, or reassigning users as needed), usage tracking and reporting, centralized billing, advanced 24/7 multilanguage support services (including two live one-on-one sessions with Adobe product experts per user, per year, via phone and web conference), and pooled licenses from a single shared Adobe Stock subscription .

CC for Teams: How to Easily Add or Move a New Seat

What makes Creative Cloud for Teams really different and unique: Administrators can manage it all from a simple but powerful web-based Admin Console to centrally purchase, deploy, and manage all seats within your organization. You can easily add, move, or reassign users to adapt to the way your organization does business, or even reclaim assets when people leave and projects change – so your Creative Cloud membership evolves as your company evolves, and your team members can even be entirely outside of your organization.

The Adobe Admin Console: Learn What You Can Do

The Admin Console is also a centralized IT deployment resource allowing you to control and customize how your users install and access both CC products and updates. You can use this exclusive portal to build your own distribution packages and provide as much platform stability as you like – and install ongoing upgrades on your own schedule, whenever you are ready. If desired, you can also block access to online Creative Cloud storage and services while users are on the corporate network.

Some other benefits of CC for Teams include: Achieving a lower cost of entry (compared to the prior perpetual model), taking advantage of predictable budgeting, volume discounts for 10 or more seats, simplifying compliance management and reporting, helping ensure usage rights with assigned seats, rigorous built-in security, and treating software purchases as an operating expense. Team users also get one extra month of offline grace period when running the CC desktop applications without an Internet connection, including when traveling remotely or internationally.

Pricing for the Team product is $89.99/month (or €77,49/£65.99) per seat on an annual basis – either paid monthly throughout the year, or prepaid up front. That gives you everything described above. Education pricing (schools, students and teachers, classrooms, colleges and universities) is $34.99/month (or €34,99/£29.49). You can also upgrade from any number of current Creative Cloud Individual memberships to a consolidated Creative Cloud Team membership.

If you only need one application, then there’s another option: CC for Teams Single App . You can choose from Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects, or any one of the rest – and it includes all the same team features for admin, support, and collaboration, together with 1 TB of online storage instead of 100 GB. The regular pricing for the Teams single-tool plan is $37.99/month (or €33,49/£27.99) for the majority of CC products, except for Acrobat Pro DC which is a third less – and for education customers, the same individual tool package is $14.99/month (or €14,99/£12.64).

All these plans are available directly from Adobe , and there is no overall minimum or maximum on number of seats you can purchase for your team, group, or SMB. With CC for Teams, you can purchase from 1-250 licenses at a time, and add on more seats whenever you want. You can buy with a credit card, PayPal , or purchase order, either paid monthly or prepaid annually. As with the regular Creative Cloud, each user can choose to run their license on either the Windows or Mac operating systems, or on both platforms .

96 thoughts on “What's the Difference Between Creative Cloud for Individuals vs. Teams?”

ProDesignTools : That’s a good question and we haven’t seen it yet either… Be aware that each Creative Cloud Individual license is connected to a specific Adobe ID and email address.

I am explicitly looking for a more detailed response to this yet and am sure many others as well. If the PC is in use by User X, BUT in use by User Y because User X is on extended leave or out sick. How does Adobe view this ? Not all small businesses have the room to pay almost 3 times the price compared to a individual license fee and would really like to keep it simple. I also don’t see how the license gets associated with a ‘person’ or with an ’email address’, when in reality it should lock on to a particular ‘system’ which is PAID for.

Thanks for your follow-up question. Here’s what we know. First off, Creative Cloud for Teams is definitely not three times the price of Creative Cloud for Individuals… In the U.S., the monthly cost is about 50% higher, not anywhere near 3X.

Secondly, it’s definitely OK for a business to buy and use Creative Cloud Individual licenses for each of their employees instead of purchasing a CC for Teams subscription for the group. That is not a problem:

Which Should I Buy: CC for Business vs. CC for Individuals?

But it sounds like what you’re asking is if you can buy Individual Creative Cloud subscriptions within a company (and accept the reduced features & functionality described in the article above), but then have multiple different people use the software over time, either temporarily or permanently. Is that right?

To answer your question: from what we understand about Adobe’s licensing, the CC Individuals plan is single-user software that is licensed to a single person via their own Adobe ID and login, and not transferable to another person or party. CC Teams is the solution for groups with multiple seats that can be flexibly managed or reallocated and reassigned between users, etc.

Adobe has spoken about this in the past. For example, here a senior staff member from the Volume licensing department wrote , “in the case of Creative Cloud, the an individual CC can be purchased and registered to the person under the ID purchased, it can be only used by that person who has registered the CC.”

Just to help further clarify for you, we have reached out to the company Lead on Customer & Employee Experience to confirm this information, and will post back here with her response. Hope that helps.

This helps get some response and get a bit further. I appreciate you reaching out in order for more clarification. The point here being, small businesses suffer. Not everyone wants to use the extended features + not everyone has the budget as well to spend the excess on the features they are not going to use. It’s as simple as this and this is very very in line with what the ask is here, and I asked this question a number of times and in the same dilemma yet. Here is the scenario in detail:

— I have say – 10x systems in an office. — The number of users required to use an adobe product = 5. — The owner of the company, says, well – I REALLY want to COMPLY and buy the software, BUT I do not really have to need the Team features since we are a very small shop with limited finances that we would rather spend on your other products or other products. — The person goes out and buys 5 individual licences FOR the 5 Seats / laptops / desktop / device…however you would like to call it. NOTE, that it complies the licensing model, I got 5 licenses for my 5 users. — Say a desktop goes bust, say a person does not come to work. User X is on the system of User Y (I ALREADY have licenses for both the users, HOW does it really matter where they use it). — Adobe really needs to look into this and offer this licensing WITHOUT team features for small shops that (as you should appreciate are BUYING to comply) and at the same time not have them spend in excess just because of the implications. I totally understand, this is CORRECT for large enterprises and larger offices.

Even at double the price and no features that will practically be in use – WHY should a small business overspend their hard owned money which could be used elsewhere.

Just to quickly address one of your points. Say if a desktop goes bust – a computer crashes and needs to be taken out of service or replaced – that is a different question… The subscriber can simply & easily move and use the Creative Cloud software and license onto another system.

Check out these two related articles, which do also apply to Teams memberships as well as Individual subscriptions:

How to Move Adobe CC or CS6 Between Two Systems, or from PC to Mac

How Many Computers Can You Install or Run Adobe Creative Cloud On?

In other words, the scenario of a single user using multiple machines is different from the question of multiple users using a single machine/license.

Still does not address the fact of what I mentioned. I need 5 licenses for my 5 users. Any of the 5 can and should be able to use any of the 5 systems in addition to the other system(s) where I can have it installed, but not in use of course as per the articles. The pain area (from the licensing point of view and beyond grey matter for many is) the terms say that the license is violated if a 6th (named user) uses any of the 5 systems just because he is not registered or just because I do not have a team license by paying 2 times the cost. The device count has not changed, I am still using what I paid for. Like I said, 2x is unacceptable for small businesses. You need to see the accumulated damage this does over a longer year – 3-4 years for even a small 5-10 seater business. Like I said, either this has to be “device” locked (clearly there is no way to have multiple people SIT on the SAME desktop and work at the same time…yet)… or have a team license sans all the fancy features for small setups or have a gradual upscale of say 0-20, you maybe end up paying 1.2x (for the freedom of the “team” license); 20-40, 1.4x, so on and so forth.

As noted above, the question of whether more than one person can use a single system/license is different from the ability of more than one system to run a single user’s license… The latter is allowed, whereas the former is what you’re asking about.

And once again, to be clear – Creative Cloud for Teams does not cost 2-3x the price of Creative Cloud for Individuals in any country anywhere… In fact, in geographies like Europe and the UK, it’s only 10 euros or 10 pounds more per month than the cost of the Individuals plan.

We are following up with Adobe to further confirm and clarify regarding the rest of your inquiry.

I need to take a step back and correct myself here. I observed the pricing all over again and you are correct in what you said about the pricing information (for most of the products). The great divide is only between Photoshop CC / Lightroom CC between the individual license and the business license ?

At this phase I also have to thank you for your patience in explaining and providing the necessary links for more clarity.

I shall now await more information from your side once it is available at your end.

Sure, no problem Karl. And thanks for your thoughtful follow-up.

And yes, you’re right regarding the Creative Cloud Photography Plan (with both Photoshop CC + Lightroom CC) in that it is not offered for Teams , only Individuals.

Hello again Karl,

Here is the response we received this morning from Adobe Legal… “CCI” is Creative Cloud for Individuals, and “CCT” is Creative Cloud for Teams:

“CCI/Adobe IDs are managed by the individual and the individual owns the content. If the company licenses under a CCT with Admin Console, then the admin can control the Adobe ID entitlements; but one user cannot control the entitlements for CCI Adobe IDs.”

As a follow-up, Adobe sent us this section from the Legal Terms of Use :

5. Account Information. You are responsible for all activity that occurs via your [Adobe ID] account. Please notify Customer Support immediately if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account. You may not (a) Share your account information (except with an authorized account administrator); or (b) use another person’s account.

I work for a company and we are looking to purchase Adobe CC. I have 2 questions:

1. Can I use an ‘individuals’ licence while working for a company, or do I have to use a ‘Teams’ subscription legally (for 1 user)?

2. Can we download either ‘individuals’ or ‘Teams’ on 2 computers and use at different times by 2 different users legally?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Hey Julie, thanks for your questions. Here are the answers:

Yes, you can still use Individual CC licenses within groups or organizations. It is entirely legal to purchase either Individual license(s) within a company, or Teams licenses for individual(s). It’s up to the buyer as to which is better suited for your purchasing needs and work requirements. For more details, see:

Note however that you can’t actually split the Creative Cloud licenses between two machines or even two people…

Each license you purchase (whether for Teams or Individuals) is for a single user or seat – and can be activated on up to two computers, but only used on one system at a time…. For more information, see:

How Many Machines Can You Install or Run Adobe Software On?

With the Individual CC plans, a subscription is associated with your Adobe ID account, and you are not permitted to share account information or use another person’s account. There are features built into the software which can detect if the usage may be violating these licensing terms. Each Individual user would thus need to have their own subscription, per:

Can I Use a Single Adobe Creative Cloud Subscription with Two People?

The CC for Teams plan works a little differently, as described in the article above. The same limitations apply regarding not sharing a single ID – but with a Teams plan, you purchase a pool of licenses (from 1-250 seats at a time), and then can share or reallocate them as needed between different email addresses using the online Admin Console:

How to Set up and Manage Your Creative Cloud for Teams Membership

Bottom line, there is little flexibility available with Individual licenses in terms of managing users, transferring or reassigning seats, etc. All of that functionality is offered only with the Teams memberships. In your case, we would recommend either option, depending on your needs – but keep in mind that you can’t split up or share a single ID in either case.

Hope that addresses everything you wanted to know. If not, then just post back!

@ProDesignTools Thank you very much for your reply! It was extremely helpful, everything is much clearer now! I have not been in charge of choosing something like this before, so I wanted to make sure I was doing the right thing :)

Sure Julie, glad to help! Stop back anytime if you run into further questions.

Typo in fifth paragraph: should start “What makes Creative Cloud for Teams really different and unique…” not Creative Cause

Thanks, fixed! Confounded spell-check…

I work for a small charity of 5/6 users.

We would very much like to have all users to have Acrobat on their PCs. However, the pricing is quite prohibitive for small organisations like ours.

I had hoped that there was a “pooled” subscription type of offering – we could purchase 3 licenses, shared among 6 that would only allow 3 instances of the software to be used at any one time. This is a feature sometimes seen on CAD subscriptions.

I was hoping the Teams option would incorporate a pooled option, but it does not seem so. So the question is, how quickly can the assigned user be changed? Can the software sit installed on the PC and be activated/deactivated on the fly (if manually)?

Hi Darrell, good questions. The answers are:

1. Immediately. Anytime.

2. Yes. You can keep the software installed on as many computers as you like.

Also, if you happen to need or use Adobe software for a non-profit or charitable organization, then you might want to look into TechSoup for discounts.

As a small business, I am so over Adobe’s unfriendly pricing model. We have a small print publication and have four individual licenses for Creative Cloud.

License 1 – $52.99/month: Employee A’s work computer and home computer (for working remotely). License 2 – $52.99/month: Employee B’s work computer and home computer (for working remotely). License 3 – $52.99/month: Employee C’s work computer #1 and work computer #2 (not used at same time). License 4 – $52.99/month: Employee D’s work computer and on a remote MacBook (not used at same time).

Under the “team” membership model, we would pay $639.92 per month ($79.99/month x 8 “seats”) which is $427.96/month more than we’re paying now. Adobe does everything it can to discourage people from doing this, even though we’re well within the license terms, even to the point of having salespeople call and try to “switch” us to the “team” license model without any transparency of how much more it would cost us. I’m sorry, but we’re not paying another $5135.52 per year for nothing.

Greetings Chris, there may be some misunderstanding. Each Creative Cloud license you purchase (whether for Teams or Individuals) is for a single user – and can be activated on up to two computers, but only used on one system at a time….

In other words, given the exact usage scenario you describe, with a CC for Teams subscription, you would only need 4 seats – just like with your current CC for Individuals plan. Nothing would change in terms of the number of licenses needed. However you would gain flexibility in terms of managing those licenses, plus the other Teams features, advantages and differences outlined in the article above.

For more information, see:

How Many Systems Can You Install or Activate Adobe Software On?

How many devices with active usage does one team license allow? I would like to use my license on two laptops and one desktop – is that something I can do with single team license?

Let me know

Sure, that question is answered in detail here:

It works the same for the CC Team licenses as for the CC Individual licenses.

If I have an Adobe Teams membership for a single product such as Photoshop or Captivate, can I download it to 2 devices like I can with a regular Adobe Creative purchase?

Hello Cheryl, that’s a frequent question. The answer is yes – each license of the Teams plans can be installed on up to two computers, the same as with the Individual plans.

Here’s our article on the subject:

How Many Systems Can You Install or Use Adobe Products On?

In other words, if you have access to the Teams membership at work, then you should also be able to install & run the CC apps on your home computer as well (just not using them at the same time); all the full versions:

On How Many Machines Can I Use Each CC for Teams License?

Hope that helps!

I’m a new designer still learning and sometimes get designs to make for people. I’d like to buy individual tools but I’d like just 2 of the apps, which are illustrator and after effects. Is there a discounted package for these two and discount for new subscribers?

Well, you could get just a Single-App Subscription (for Illustrator or After Effects), which would be significantly cheaper:

Don’t Need Full Cloud? Get Any Single CC Tool for $10-20 a Month

There aren’t any discounts like you mentioned, but even if you got both of these as individual single-app subscriptions, it would still be less expensive than an “All Apps” membership.

Can three persons share one “CC for teams licence”, as long as they are not used simultaneously?

Can they have three different accounts/login?

Each Creative Cloud license, whether for Teams or Individuals, is for a single user or seat – and each user can activate the software on up to two of his/her systems , but not use those computers at the same time.

One of the big Teams advantages is you can move or reassign your purchased license(s) to new user(s) at any time. With CC for Individuals, you cannot do that; each license is fixed to its original user/login. By contrast, CC Teams is the solution for groups with multiple seats that can be flexibly managed or reallocated and reassigned between users as often as you want or need.

For more details on how this works, see our previous response above to Julie.

Can you have multiple single CC licenses attached to the same credit cards or email addresses? If I wanted to buy 3 licenses on a single credit card, can I? Single CC licenses are cheaper than Teams Licenses. Thanks

Great questions, Jim!

Q: Can you have multiple Creative Cloud subscriptions on a single email address?

A: Only with the Teams plans described above. Otherwise, each Individual subscription needs to have its own Adobe ID with a unique email address, and these are non-transferrable .

Q: Can you have multiple Adobe subscriptions on a single credit/debit card or PayPal ?

A: Yes, this is for sure possible.

So we have pay an extra 30 dollars per person from the standard $52.99 a month for individuals if we want to make it a team account ?

It’s +$27/month per person for the additional Teams features described above. But actually, with Adobe’s recent launch of the new “Pro Edition,” you now get even more than that:

The New Creative Cloud Pro Edition – What You Need to Know

In other words, Teams subscribers with at least five seats can get the better Pro Edition for the same price and receive unlimited Adobe Stock downloads for one year… That makes Teams worth even more.

(This is a huge bonus and we need to add it to the article above!)

If I get the adobe, so my co-worker and myself could use, can we see each other’s designs, documents, etc?

What’s the best thing to sign up on, for teams or for individuals?

Yes, you can definitely collaborate with other users of Creative Cloud. See:

How to Browse, Sync, and Manage Creative Cloud Assets

How to Share Online Files, Libraries, Prototypes, and More

Whether you should get two licenses for Individuals or two seats for Teams depends on how much you need the other plan differences described in the article above…

Does that answer your questions?

Is it possible to get Creative Cloud for Teams using a personal email address or does it needs to be a business one?

Hey Daniel! Nice to see you again.

The answer is you can get a Teams license (or licenses) with any email address at all. Adobe doesn’t care about what type of email address you have or use.

And you can buy Teams even for just a single user, just one seat. That is no problem at all.

In fact, many consultants and freelancers do exactly that, so they can access the additional Teams features when collaborating and working with their various business clients.

But, you don’t have to be a business or company at all to get a Teams subscription . Anyone can buy one or more licenses for the same price as a larger organization.

I was wondering what plan you’re supposed to use if you use Adobe products to create work in which you are earning money from, such as graphic design work for a client?

Can you use any? What happens if you’re a student and receive a free plan with university or have a student plan yourself?

Thanks for your help.

Welcome Molly,

You can use any plan – either for Individuals or Teams or Students …

All Adobe plans and products allow you to create and sell your work commercially… There are no restrictions on usage or earning income with the tools, regardless of which plan you have.

I am gathering info for my organization to purchase a teams plan. I just have a few clarifying questions:

1. Does the Adobe Teams Plan for $79.99 come with 5 licenses? In other words, will our organization be paying that price whether we are using all licenses allowed or not?

2. Is there a better way to understand how the Admin Console setup is done for Teams? I cant seem to find any helpful information to walk me through that process?

Hi Hakeem, here are the answers to your questions:

1. The price quoted for the Teams plans is always per seat – that is, per user. Each person has their own email address, and you can flexibly allocate the purchased Teams seats as needed between them.

2. Sure, it’s pretty easy. Check out this free book you can download:

Better still, you can now get a free Creative Cloud for Teams trial for 14 days… It costs nothing, with no credit card required and no cancellation needed. The free two-week tryout will give you access to the Admin Console and all apps for up to 10 of your team members. Then you can easily see how it works and if it’s right for you.

We already utilise the Teams licences for single apps and it works really well and gives us a huge amount of flexibility. I am considering buying the ‘All Apps’ licence and wondered whether the various elements of this licence could be distributed to different users – i.e., could the InDesign part of it be assigned to User X whilst the Illustrator part be assigned to User Y?

Good question! The answer is that each Adobe license purchased is for a single user only. So no, you couldn’t split up or share the different tools in a single “All Apps” license amongst multiple users. This is the same for all of Creative Cloud, whether for Teams or Individual licenses.

Hi! We are utilising single apps on CC for Teams and it gives us great flexibility and we are considering purchasing an ‘All Apps’ bundle for use as part of the CC for Teams and control the distribution of this via the Admin Console. Do you know if, for example, Photoshop could be assigned to User A and Illustrator to User B or if we buy the ‘All Apps’ bundle, all of the individual elements are linked and only can be assigned to one user at a time?

Sorry!! Didn’t realise my first posting had worked! Ignore this one and thanks for answering!

You bet, Shirley – glad to help!

Any recommendations on a good reseller for Creative cloud for teams? Dealing with Adobe directly, they don’t seem to be the most responsive. And their agents often do not have a great command of English, which makes interaction difficult. Any suggestions??

Hey Brad, it depends on your region. You can find Adobe-certified and legitimate resellers on their official partner list no matter where you are in the world. Make sure to select vendors only from that list!

However, all Teams licenses are also purchasable online direct from Adobe – you just choose the product(s) and enter the number of seats and you’ll immediately receive your licenses and can get started right away.

If you want to check out the Teams product and platform before buying, don’t miss the opportunity for a free 14-day trial to download and run whichever tools you like. No credit card or form of payment is required, and you can have 10 colleagues participate in the free tryout.

Update: This is an older review. For the latest version, see our Adobe Creative Cloud (2024) review

If you use creative apps like photo editors and video editing software , then you’ve probably come across Creative Cloud before. It’s Adobe ’s subscription service, which unlocks lots of top-end tools like Photoshop for a single price.

Most Adobe apps are only available to subscribers. And with Creative Cloud, there tends to be three main ways to pay: monthly, annually billed monthly, or annually upfront. As long as you subscribe, you’ll get access to the latest updates and software versions.

Depending on your, there are advantages beyond budget with the Creative All Apps plan, too. For starters, Adobe follows roughly the same design logic across its software, making it easy to jump between different tools without impacting productivity.

Better still, the creative apps are designed to work together for more efficient workflows. Create a design in Illustrator , for example, and it’s seamless using it in your Premiere Pro -edited movie or your Dreamweaver-designed website.

So, how does Adobe Creative Cloud work, what exactly do you get, and does it offer value for money?

Adobe Creative Cloud: Pricing & plans

Adobe offers its portfolio either as an all inclusive price, or if you prefer, you can choose which apps you wish to pay for and leave the rest. There is however a huge financial and creative incentive to go for the all inclusive option.

There are also different prices whether you’re an individual, in education, or part of a team or business.

Single users will opt for the Individuals option , and they can get all apps and 100GB of online storage for $55 / £52 per month. If you’d rather pay for only the apps you need, all of the big software packages like InDesign, Lightroom , After Effects , and the like, it will will set you back $26 / £20 per month, each. If you pay for three of them, you might as well get them all.

Students and teachers get the whole lot for only $19.99 (£16.24) per month for the first year (the price goes up to $31.86 (£25.28) after that, but that’s still nearly half the price of what Individuals pay).

Teams are more expensive - $33.99 (£25.28) per month excluding VAT for a single app, or $79.99 (£59) for all of them, per licence. The more people are on your team, the more expensive this can get. However, there are many advantages to going for the Teams option. For one thing, it offers 1TB of cloud storage ; it enables collaborative video editing (see our Adobe Premiere Pro review for a glimpse of what that offers); you can reassign licences at will should you go for the single app route and have more team members than licences, because not all of them will use the same app at the same time; you can control this via a centralised deployment system; you have access to volume discounts (should you order 10 or more licences), 24/7 tech support, 1:1 sessions with design experts, a shared Adobe Stock plans, and unlimited job postings on Adobe Talent.

If this may still seem like a lot of money, let’s take a quick look at a competitor of Adobe’s in the video market: Avid Media Composer , a powerful video editing tool. You can buy it outright for $1,499 (£1,299) or, like Adobe, subscribe to the service for between $23.99 (£21) per month or $34.99 (£31), depending on whether you agree to subscribe for one year or just pay each month as you go.

Yes, Adobe’s plans are more expensive, but the range of tools they offer is head and shoulders above the competition. Adobe’s apps are also perfectly integrated with one another, enabling you to effortlessly move your work between them. You have a wealth of technology at your disposal to bring out the best in your creative work. With that in mind, Adobe’s pricing is pretty hard to beat.

Adobe Creative Cloud: Online teams

When participating with a team project, rather than saving it locally, it’s saved online. The media isn’t sent to the cloud necessarily, that’s based on your need and preference, but if you’re working on a video project for example, you can have one person ingesting, another editing captions, and yet another editing sequences.

Subscribing to Creative Cloud also means gaining access to Adobe Stock photography, footage, website building templates and other assets. If you’re looking for video, you can hover the cursor over its thumbnail to get a preview of the footage over time, without having to download the clip in the first place. This enables you to get a good idea of what you’ll be using.

If suitable, you can then download it free of charge and use it in your project. It’ll be watermarked and of a lower quality, but once you’re ready to complete your work, if you haven’t shot any other footage that’s better, you can licence and purchase it. The watermarked clip will be automatically replaced with the full resolution version, and any changes or effects you applied to it in the meantime will be fully preserved.

Adobe Creative Cloud: Cloud control

Any asset you upload to Creative Cloud will be accessible from whichever computer, tablet or phone you’re working on. You can have shared libraries which other users can access and contribute to, and the motion graphic templates from Premiere Pro and After Effects can be stored there as well.

Creative Cloud also offers you the ability to contribute to Adobe Stock. There are obviously legal hoops you have to jump through, such as making sure you have written permission from everyone in the shot you’re submitting, but once your footage has been cleared, you’ll be able to earn royalties when anyone uses your work in their final projects.

All Apps

All of this is controlled via Adobe Creative Cloud. This is an app that mostly works in the background, lets you see which software you have access to, and which products you’ve downloaded.

Updates

Once installed, Creative Cloud resides on your computer in the apps folder. This is where you can control everything to do with the service. You can see which apps have updates, and reassuringly, Adobe doesn’t automatically download them for you, so you can work using your current version, at least until you’ve finished your latest project, and checked out what the new features are all about.

The Your Work section is where you can monitor which of your files are stored in Creative Cloud.

Fonts

You can use the app to discover other parts of Adobe’s vast empire, such as its collection of fonts. The interface is a little odd at that point as you only see the fonts you’ve already downloaded and if you want to browse for more, the app sends you to your web browser to search for the ones you need. Once you’ve downloaded them they appear instantly in Creative Cloud’s font section.

Discover

Discover is a section devoted to offering you tutorials, or showcases the work of others in fields that interest you, such as Photography, Design and Layout, Video and Motion, Illustration, UI and UX, 3D and AR. Select some or all of them to see what’s available.

You have a handful on display, and clicking on ‘view more’ will, again, take you to your web browser to check out additional ones.

Thankfully, the search field displays results right inside the Creative Cloud app, but clicking on any results, be it promoted or found through a search query, will, yes, again, send you to your browser to read or watch it.

Stock

Stock is Adobe’s entire library of photos and videos. You’re offered 10 freebies to get you started with a free 30-day trial. Clicking on the ‘Launch’ button will take you to, you guessed it, your web browser where you’re likely to find any image or footage you can possibly imagine. You can also access Stock from within Adobe’s apps themselves, so you can edit a video, for instance, search Stock and add something straight to your project without ever leaving Premiere Pro.

Adobe Creative Cloud: Final verdict

You get a lot for your money with Adobe Creative Cloud, from online storage to collaborative features, and of course all the apps you could possibly want in order to generate content. The combined weight of all this, plus the fact Adobe regularly updates all of its apps, means you might see immense value in this subscription option, and to seal the deal, they offer you a free 7-day trial, so you really have nothing to lose by checking it out.

Black Friday Adobe deals

What's included in adobe creative cloud.

Adobe Creative Cloud deals tend to be quite rare but there are a few great ways to save all year round with a bit of know-how. We've laid out the best options for subscription price cuts in both the US and UK on this page for 2023, as well as information on when you can expect the best Adobe Creative Cloud deals to crop up.

Creative Cloud is the flagship subscription-based service from Adobe that gives users access to a number of excellent creative applications. Industry-leading tools for graphic design, web design, photography, marketing, and website building can all be at your fingertips with one unified subscription. If you're a creative professional, no doubt you've already heard of applications like Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Premiere Pro – well-renowned programmes that are somewhat of an institution in the design world.

Adobe Creative Cloud: start your free 7-day trial

Despite being labelled as a 'Cloud' service, Adobe CC isn't operated via your web-browser like most other Cloud-related products. Like a traditional application, you'll have to install it directly onto your devices – preferably a PC or Mac, as some apps aren't supported on Chromebooks or mobile devices. That said, there are a few exceptions like the Photoshop app for the iPad .

As with most 'Cloud' services, Adobe CC gives you the ability to backup your work directly to the Adobe network itself. This comes with the added advantage of being able to share your work easily and also collaborate with other subscribers. If you're more traditionally-minded, don't worry - you can also save your work directly to your device of choice as well and work offline. You do need to validate your membership online once every 99 days, but once you do that (and receive your updates), you're actually completely free to use Adobe Creative Cloud completely offline.

The best Adobe Creative Cloud discounts

Adobe Creative Cloud for Teams: £74.39 a month

Adobe Creative Cloud Photography Plan: £9.98 a month Specially for photographers, get the Adobe Creative Cloud Photography Plan for just £9.98. This plan comes with the latest version of Photoshop and Lightroom, mobile apps and Portfolio.

Outside of the evergreen student discounts, the biggest Adobe Creative Cloud deals tend to be concentrated around sales events like Black Friday. We generally see discounts ranging from around 15% to 20% when these deals come up, so they're definitely waiting around for if you're not a student but want a price cut.

If you don't find a discount or promotion to your liking above, please feel free to bookmark this page and revisit, as we'll be updating it regularly as Adobe Creative Cloud deals go live throughout the year.

Adobe Creative Cloud pricing

There are a few different ways to access the software in the Adobe Creative Cloud. The priciest is a full All Apps subscription which is £51.98 / $54.99 / AU$79.99. This gives you access to the entire, comprehensive suite of 20+ apps, plus 100GB of cloud storage, the portfolio creation tool Adobe Portfolio and the Adobe Fonts library.

You have the choice of paying for either annually or monthly. The annual plan is the best value overall, as long as you expect to use the Creative Cloud for a whole year, because you’ll have to commit to 12 months of payments. The month-to-month plan is much more expensive per month but does give you the flexibility to stop and restart your subscription without a cancellation fee.

If you only want one or some of the Creative Cloud apps, there are cheaper options. For example, the Photography Plan bundles together Photoshop, Lightroom and Lightroom Classic, along with 20GB of cloud storage, Adobe Portfolio, Adobe Fonts and Adobe Spark, for a reasonable £9.99 / $9.99 / AU$14.29 a month.

Photoshop in use on tablet

Most tools in the Adobe Creative Cloud are just for PC and Mac, but Photoshop is now available for iPad too

Alternatively, you can choose to subscribe to just a single app. Most of the best-known Adobe Creative Cloud tools can be accessed for a single-app subscription of £19.97 / $20.99 / AU $29.99 a month over one year, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, InDesign, After Effects, Audition, Dreamweaver, Animate and Dimension.

Others are cheaper: Acrobat Pro is £15.17 / $14.99 / AU$21.99 a month, InCopy is £4.98 / $4.99 / AU$7.69 a month, and Lightroom, XD and Premier Rush all cost £9.98 / $9.99 / AU$14.29 a month. With a single-app subscription you’ll also get Adobe Portfolio, Adobe Fonts and Adobe Spark, plus 100GB of cloud storage (or 1TB of cloud storage with Lightroom).

As you’ll have noticed, a subscription to CC doesn't come cheap. However, you can download Adobe Creative Cloud for free using Adobe's 7-day trial. That should certainly be enough time to give the apps you’re interested in a full go, and maybe even complete a small project. Just make sure you cancel within the trial period, or you’ll then get charged automatically.

Adobe Creative Cloud free download | Start a free trial

Adobe Creative Cloud free download | Start a free trial Take out a seven-day free trial to try out any of Adobe Creative Cloud’s 20+ apps, including Photoshop, Illustrator and Adobe XD. Your free trial includes access to step-by-step tutorials, 100GB of cloud storage, your own portfolio website and premium fonts.

Note: you’ll need to cancel before the end of the free trial period or be charged for a monthly subscription for the rest of the year.

Adobe Creative Cloud for students

If you’re currently enrolled in full-time education, whether that’s school, college or university, then good news. As long as you’re 13 years old or over, you can get Adobe Creative Cloud at a massive discount.

That varies slightly depending on where you are in the world right now: so you can get 65% off in the UK, 60% off in the US and Canada, and a massive 70% off in Australia and New Zealand. You will be asked to provide proof of eligibility before the discount is applied.

Fresco in use on tablet

Adobe Fresco, a sketching and painting app for iPad, is one of the newest additions to the Adobe Creative Cloud

Wondering whether to wait for an Adobe Creative Cloud Black Friday offer? In previous years, we've seen a 39-40% discount on the All Apps plan over the Black Friday and Cyber Monday period. That's a massive price drop, and the maximum discount we've ever seen from Adobe, so we'd recommend snapping this deal up if you spot it.

In 2020, the deal wasn't quite as good though: just 20% off the Adobe CC All Apps plan. Adobe also runs offers on its Creative Cloud subscriptions a few times a year, so keep an eye out on this page for any hot price drops outside of the holiday sales events.

Logos of different Adobe Creative Cloud tools

There are more than 20 different tools currently included in the Adobe Creative Cloud

There are more than 20 apps includes in a full Adobe Creative Cloud subscription. These include:

Adobe Photoshop An image editing and graphic design tool that’s used for image manipulation, photo retouching, graphic design, visual web design, app prototyping and 3D modelling. Focus on sustainability

designing a positive future

The plastic parts in MX Keys S include post consumer recycled plastic — 26% for Graphite and 11% for Pale Grey* — to give a second life to end-of-life plastic from old consumer electronics and help reduce our carbon footprint.

*Excludes plastic in printed wiring assembly (PWA), FFC cable, cables, and packaging.

Did you know producing aluminum is energy-intensive? That’s why the aluminum plate inside the MX Keys S is made with renewable energy rather than fossil fuels. Beautiful, with a lower carbon impact.

Presets for backlit keys automatically adjust to the environment and turn off when not needed – resulting in optimal battery consumption. Low-power mode shuts off backlighting when battery is below 10% to extend power even further.

The carbon impact of MX Keys S and its packaging has been reduced to zero due to Logitech’s investment in carbon-offsetting and removal projects.
