2 Minutes Speech on Friendship

Ladies and gentlemen!

Greetings to all.

Today, I want to discuss friendship with you. Everyone should value and nurture their friendships since they are wonderful things. A good friend is someone you can always count on to stick by your side, who is there for you through good times and bad, who encourages and supports you.

However, friendship is a two-way street. Both parties must put out some effort and devotion. Being dependable, encouraging, and always there for your buddy when they need you will go a long way toward being a good friend in return.

Additionally, friendship is about enjoying one other’s company and having fun. Spending time with friends is one of life’s greatest pleasures, whether it be just hanging out and chatting or going on excursions and creating memories.

So let’s be careful to cherish and care for our friendships. We should never take them for granted because they are an important aspect of our lives. I’m grateful.

Quotes of some internationally famous personalities for Speech on Speech about friendship

  • “Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another, ‘What! You too? I thought I was the only one.'”
  • “A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out.”
  • “Friendship is the only cement that will ever hold the world together.”
  • “A friend is someone who knows all about you and still loves you.”
  • “Friendship is the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person, having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words.”
  • “A friend is someone who makes it easy to believe in yourself.”
  • “True friendship comes when the silence between two people is comfortable.”
  • “A friend is someone who believes in you when you have ceased to believe in yourself.”
  • “Friendship is the golden thread that ties the heart of all the world.”

3 Minutes Speech on Friendship

I’d like to talk to you about friendship today. We all need to appreciate and develop our friendships because they are such an essential part of life.

A true friend is someone who stands by you no matter what, through both good and terrible times. You can confide in and trust them, and they’ll always be there to support and uplift you.

Having a friend is more than just having someone to hang out with or go on activities with. It is about developing a close relationship with someone in which you feel free to be who you are and are accepted for who you are.

The fact that friendship can fill our lives with so much joy and happiness is one of its best qualities. When we have close friends, we feel loved and supported, and this can give us the courage and fortitude to deal with any difficulties that may arise.

However, friendship is a two-way street. Being a good friend in return means being there for your friends, offering encouragement and support, and letting them know how much you value their friendship.

So let’s be sure to cherish and treasure the friendships we already have while also making an effort to forge new ones. Always keep in mind that having good friends is important because they are difficult to find.

I’m grateful.

5 Minutes Speech on Friendship

Our lives wouldn’t be the same without our friends. They are the ones we go to when we need assistance, direction, or someone to simply be there for us.

But what characteristics mark a true friend? In a friendship, honesty, loyalty, and reliability are all crucial traits. Someone you can confide in and trust with your secrets is a wonderful friend. They are also devoted, being by your side no matter what and not criticising you for your errors. Speaking openly and honestly with your friends enables a better connection and understanding, therefore honesty is also important in a friendship.

But the friendship is much more than just what we gain from it. It also depends on the effort we put forth. Being a good friend is being there for your friends, giving them support and motivation, and listening well. It involves practising selflessness and occasionally prioritising your friend’s needs over your own.

Both parties must put forth effort and devotion in a friendship. It’s about supporting one another even when it’s difficult. Being a source of joy and laughter as well as a shoulder to weep on is important.

In essence, love, trust, and support are the foundations of friendship. It’s about supporting one another in both good and difficult times. As a result, treasure your friendships and dedicate time to the important people in your life.

Friendship Speech for Students in English

Friends are the family one chooses, and true friends stay with us through thick and thin. A speech on friendship can be given on the occasion of friendship day or any occasion when one wants to celebrate friendship and share the role of friendship in one’s life with others. Here, we will discuss several ways of presenting a friendship speech, like a long speech on friendship and a short speech on friendship. Also, 10 lines on friendship speech in English are discussed below.

Long and Short Friendship Speech in English

Long speech on friendship.

A long version of a speech on friendship can be framed as follows.

Very good morning to everyone. Today, I would like to deliver a speech on friendship which will take us on a walk through the streets of nostalgia and relive the precious essence of friendship that we all have experienced.

Friend. That one kid who stole your candy in school or the one student who gained more marks than you in college, or the topper who taught you everything just before an exam in university. Every friend that crosses our path in life always has something to give us, be it good memories, lessons, or just something worthwhile. True friends are always there for us through thick and thin, through good or bad, and through weal and woe. True friends support us in our decisions and correct us for our well-being. Through this speech on friendship, I am delighted to extend my gratitude to all such friends I am blessed with.

All types of friendships have something or the other that’s unique and special, a best friend, an acquaintance, or a group of friends. Whoever that may be, a friend should always be the one who fuels our passion to flying rather than clipping our wings. As we grow older, making new friends seems to be a tough job as we create a comfort zone of our own. So, the ones who remain friends since childhood and never give up on each other are the ones who are valuable.

Friendship shouldn’t be accompanied by jealousy, ego, or insecurity. A good friendship is one where people can share all their emotions heart to heart without the fear of being judged. Although friends have numerous memories to giggle about, friendship is not only about smiles or jokes. Friends should always respect each other, understand each other and support each other throughout. No one is perfect in this world. So, insecurities and flaws just make a person complete and friends are the ones who never judge each other over each other’s flaws or insecurities, rather support each other when they get agitated due to the same. Searching for the good in people, accepting their flaws, and staying loyal help people end up being good friends.

Friends are very special as we choose them to be with us and include them in our lives. So, one must make sure that they choose good ones. In this busy world, people tend to drift apart from each other due to work or other engagements. Friendships are the strongest when they reach a stage where they don't need to communicate every day to maintain the bond.

In conclusion, I would like to say that with time, friends also become family and a place for us to seek closure. Such friends should be cherished and celebrated as much as possible, and gratitude should be expressed from time to time. I am so grateful to have such amazing friends who are like a family to me. I am thankful for these precious bonds that I have created over time and spending time with them makes everything better. Friendship is the only bond that survives through thick and thin.

Short Speech on Friendship

A short friendship speech can be given on any occasion. Here, students can find an easy way to express their views on friendship in simple words.

Good morning all, today I will speak on friendship. It’s an apt topic for me; a few years ago I would not even have the courage to stand on this stage before you all. I owe a lot to my friends who have supported me and converted my weaknesses into my strengths. Friends are the ones who bring out the best in you. They will always be there for you and turn to your side in good and bad times. Friends are special as they never make you feel alone. They uplift you when you feel discouraged. They are the ones who also bring us to the right path when we are lost.

In friendship, there is no room for negativity or negative emotions. Negative emotions like ego, jealousy, hatred, possessiveness, and anger can only ruin relationships. A true friend is one who can recognize such emotions and help you bring them out. This proves their sincerity and loyalty towards you and such friends should always be held close. We all lose some friends along the way due to distance or misunderstandings. On the other hand, we also gain many real friends who believe in us and support us no matter what the circumstances are.

In conclusion, I would like to add, friendship is a mixed bag and there is every emotion in it and many ups and downs along the way. We should enjoy this gift of friendship and always lead with love, honesty, and understanding.

Speech On What Is friendship [1,2,3 Minutes]

What Is Friendship Speech: Choosing good friends is a must because it can make or break your identity in society. Friendship is not a blood relation but sometimes it is more than that. We share a relationship with our friends that is unconditional and unbound.

“A friend in need is a friend indeed”. This saying defines true friendship in fewer words. Truly, A true friend is one who not only stands there in your good moment but also supports and appreciate you in your hardships.

1 Minute Speech on What is Friendship

A day that is void of friends is to mean an incomplete one. Friendship makes every day a celebration. I cordially thank God for gifting me with a range of true friends who complete my life.

Hello and welcome to all the people present here. Before I start my speech on friendship, I would like to wish you a good day. Also, I want to thank you for having me this valuable opportunity.

All blood relationships are defined from the day we take birth but friendship is a relationship that can’t be defined without mutual affection. Friendship does not depend on any caste, creed, colour, nationality etc. You can make friends of any age, from any country, from any community.

Friendship is the most transparent and divine relationship among all the other relations. It is considered the best life when someone has a lot of good friends. Friendship supports you in life not only in happy times but also in your hardships.

This is all about what I think of friendship. Thank you for listening to my words. I hope you liked them.

1 Minute Speech on What is Friendship

2 Minute Speech on What is Friendship

Greetings to everyone gathered here, I (your name) cordially welcome all of you. I also want to thank you for having me a chance to deliver a speech on friendship.

So, What is friendship? Did you ever try to define it? I know you all understand what friendship is and what is its significance. But to define friendship is a little bit hard because it can not be expressed through words. Every other person perceives friendship in a different way.

But we can explore the term- “Friendship” using our common sense that everyone will agree with. “A friend in need is a friend indeed”. This quotation defines true friendship in a few words. Actually, A true friend is one who not only stands there in your good moment but also gives you a shoulder to cry on in your hardships.

Your friends are your extended family . They treat you like your family members. They share mutual affection with you. They know your strengths, your weaknesses, your secrets, your emotions etc. They use to irritate you, they make fun of you, they fight with you, they laugh with you, they weep with you. But what is hidden here is They love you in every act.

True friendship suggests having a connection free of any rules. It is free from any judgments and it gives you a sense of feeling loved and accepted. True friends are rare to find and you are destined enough to have them.

Concluding, having a good friendship that inspires you, supports you, and always stands by you at difficult times is luck. Sometimes this friendship is found more than blood relationships.

I stop here to give others a chance. I hope you like my words. Thank you so much.

3 Minute Speech on What is Friendship

If I ask you whose company you like the most? I am sure that most of you will say “friends”. That is the importance of friendship. Our friends know us more than our family. Aren’t you agree?

There are tons of relationships in the world but friendship is above all. That is because any relationship can fetch you boredom but friendship will not. You enjoy the world the most when you are with your friends. They multiply your happiness & cut down your sorrow.

You will find a range of definitions of friendship in the dictionary, but the truth is that it can not be defined in words. Obviously, you can describe friendship in your own way but it can not have a proper definition. That is because everybody perceives friendship in his/her own way.

Your friends do not pass judgements on you but it does not mean that they accept your negative points. Rather, they get you out of your negative things without judging you. They appreciate your achievements without being jealous. They inspire you to turn your weaknesses into strengths.

Your friends are your extended family. They treat you like your family members. They share mutual affection with you. They know your strengths, your weaknesses, your secrets, your emotions etc.

They use to irritate you, they make fun of you, they fight with you, they laugh with you, they weep with you. But what is hidden here is they love you in every act.

To sum it up, friendship keeps us stay strong in life. Having a caring family is all okay but you also need true friendship in life to be perfectly happy.

Friendship Speech | Speech on friendship for Students and Children in English

February 8, 2024 by Prasanna

Friendship Speech: One of the most valuable relationships that anyone can make is friends. The bond that exists between two friends is far stronger and precious than the bond that exists between blood. We make friends throughout our lives right from our childhood. Life is an endless loop of making and breaking friends but the whole process of friendship making is what is worth our time in life.

In this particular friendship speech, we shall be giving a beautiful speech on how important friendship is, how to make friends, and what would life be if we didn’t have any friends.

Students can also find more  English Speech Writing  about Welcome Speeches, Farewell Speeches, etc.

Long and Short Speeches on Friendship for Students and Kids in English

If you are searching for a well-written speech for your debates or public speaking events on friendship, then we have given two different friendship speeches below. Long friendship speech in English with a word limit of 600 and short friendship speech in English with a word limit of 200 can be used by students for various extracurricular and co-curricular activities in schools and colleges.

Long Speech on Friendship 600 Words in English

Long Speech on Friendship is usually given to classes 7, 8, 9, and 10.

The fact that I have the confidence to come on the stage and speak in front of so many people today in this public speaking event in our school auditorium is because of the confidence and support that my friends gave me. It is my honor today to give a speech on friendship in front of so many of my friends and I would like to use this platform to extend my heartfelt thanks to all my friends who have been with me through my ups and downs.

Friendship is probably the only relationship and the bond that you will develop in your life that comes with no strings attached. Every relationship in your life, whether it’s with your husband, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend, mother, father, sister or manager comes with some kind of strings attached and it always involves certain types of given and take obligations. But, a pure friendship is the only relationship in a world where there are no strings attached and you can have your relationship without any obligation of giving and taking.

Students can also find Paragraph on Friendship  and Essay on Friendship from here.

It is this beauty of friendship where you don’t feel any obligation is that makes friendship one of the best bonds that humans can create. There are various types of friendship we give names to such as best friends, few people are close friends, few people just friends and a few people good friends. There is no proper definition for this friendship category but it depends on the kind of mental synchronization that we have with them and how easily we can gel with them compared to other people.

But a lot of us, especially in our college days in school days, find it difficult to make friends easily. Some of us may have lost friends, some of us have gained a lot of friends, some of us have a big circle of friends and some of us have a very small and tiny circle of friends, but at the end of the day, irrespective of how many friends and what type of friends you have, the only thing you will remember about your college and school days is the fun and folly that we have with our friends. Let us admit that without friends, our life will simply be incomplete.

Through this platform provided for me to speak about friendship speech, I would like to address a few issues that many of us face while having friends and maintaining that relationship forever. Jealousy, ego and possessiveness are some of the human tendencies that each and every one of us has. Some of us might be judgemental, some of us might not be judgemental but at the end of the day we are all human beings and we are all born to have both good qualities and bad qualities within us.

While making friends, we look at only their good qualities but during the course of friendship, we get triggered by their bad qualities and hence end up breaking the friendship with them. A strong friendship is that relationship where we understand both the good and bad qualities of our friends and help them grow together. If you enjoy laughing and having a good time with them, it is only human to be with them during their bad times and share their sorrows and grievances.

I would like to conclude this friendship speech by saying that there is no person on this planet who will be perfect. Imperfections are what make human beings beautiful and we have to celebrate these perfections and imperfections with grace. Making and breaking friendship is a natural tendency and neither of it should be the reason for you to lose faith in friendship. Friendship is one of the most valuable and precious bonds and each and every one of us should live through that before it’s too late.

Short Speech on Friendship 200 Words in English

Short Speech on Friendship is usually given to classes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.

The only memories I have of my school and college days are the fun and enjoyment that I had with my friends. I don’t remember how much I scored in what subject or how well I was appreciated by my teachers, but all I remember is teasing my friends sharing a burst of laughter or two and having some shoulder to cry on. The kind of things that we share with our friends is those things which we cannot share with our families or even our parents.

Friendship comes with no strings attached, no judgments and no jealousy. But what we have to remember is that no person on the planet is perfect and human beings come with both good qualities and bad qualities so do our friendships with people. We can live a happy and content life if we let go of the bad qualities of our friends and concentrate on only on one good quality and if we are good enough, then we help them grow through the bad qualities together.

I would like to conclude my short friendship speech by saying that there is no relationship on earth that is as pure as friendship. It comes with its own baggage of good and bad and the mixture of these both qualities is what makes friendship beautiful.

Speech on Friendship

Friendship speech 1.

As we have gathered here at this auspicious occasion, I would like to speech over the friendship. First of all I would like to say Good morning to the Excellencies, respected teachers and my dear friends. A friend is a most precious gift to all of us. We should always understand its importance and give value without having any misunderstanding. Friendship is a relationship where no any blood relation exists. It is a limitless relation goes forever without the rule of give and take. It is the special and unique relation of love and affection to any other person in the world. True friendship never sees the caste, creed, religion and colour of person; it only sees the internal beauty, simplicity and soul of the two or three person going to be involved in the friendship.

Friend of anyone is someone with whom one may feel comfortable and belief to each other as well as share their thoughts, ideas and personal feelings. Friend is one with whom we can feel safe and secure and do not need to think twice for any matter. True friends involved in the friendship love each other unconditionally and understand each other need without judging on the matter. They always ready to support each other and provide good knowledge and advice. There is a most famous friendship of Krishna and Sudama in India which has become a great example of true friendship from the ancient time. There is a common saying about the friendship by the Elbert Hubbard “A friend is someone who knows all about you and still loves you.”

A true friend always stands together and helps whenever another one need help and support. A true friend never cares his/her own important works and leaves all works to help friends. He/she never leave a friend alone especially during the difficult times of life. It is said that time takes hard exams of true friends in their difficult times. Actually difficult time is a best time which realizes us about the value and importance of true friends. The people having true friends in the life are really blessed with most precious gifts. Making number of friends in the life does not matter with the quality of friendship. True friends (whether one, two or three) are enough for whole life; instead of having many friends who never understand the situation of the needy one. Friends are the real supporter in life who teaches us how to face difficulties of life. They are the real well wishers of us who changes our bad viewpoints about anything for good.

Friendship Speech 2

Good morning to the Excellencies, respected teachers and my colleagues, at this great occasion I would like to speech on the friendship. I have especially selected this topic to keep my views in front of you about the value and importance of friendship. Friendship is the purest forms of relation exist between two, three or more people. Getting a true, sincere and loving friend in this world is really the matter of luck. True friendship is a special gift from God to one of us who get it. True friends make our meaningless life meaningful and show us a true path of success in the life. They are friends who make our journey of life easy, joyous and vibrant. They never laugh at our mistakes instead they lead us on right path by continuous support.

True friends always become free for their friends and ready to help them in their difficult times of life even after being involved in the busy schedule. Friendship is a truly priceless relation in this world which can never be bought or sold to anyone. It depends on the true love created in the heart of people involved in the friendship. It never depends on the materialistic pleasure of the world. Genuine friends are the real happiness of the life who never forget each other and always support. We as a human being always get problems in the life time to time according to the situation and get difficulty in living the social life which needs emotional and moral support. In such conditions, our true friends plays great role and take us out of the difficulties. A life without true friend is considered as incomplete life. It does not matter that you have a happy and luxurious life however it matters when you does not have any true friends all through the life.

A good friend is one whom we can share every small and big happiness, secrets and problems of life without any hesitation. Friendship is a relation which prevents us from the emotional problems as it promotes us to share our inner thoughts and feelings. True friends never criticize their friends instead they help them to come out of the shortcomings. They guide them like a tunnel of light whenever one follows wrong path. True friends always understand full rights of them on their friends and advice them truly to chose right path. They take our every mistake seriously and try to show us right way in right direction. We can say that true friend is more precious than any priceless gem in the world.

Friendship Speech 3

Good morning to the Excellencies, respected teachers and my lovely friends. The topic of my speech today is friendship. As we all know that true friendship is a precious gift in the life. As being a social animal we cannot live our life alone. We naturally get attracted towards each other according to our need and requirement and in the particular course of time our intimacy grows between us which remains for long time. There exists high level of trust between each other which is called friendship. Generally, persons of the same age, similar passions, emotions, sentiments and status gets involved in the friendship however it is completely independent of the age, sex, social status, etc. True friendship can be between two people of any age, religion, caste, sex, and social status.

Friendship is a true relation required by all of us for our goodness. We all need company of true friends whole life to pass our days cheerfully. They stand with us together in our all happy and bad days as well as give us real joy in life by sharing our happy and sad moments. The example of real friendship is very rare to see in the life. The true and historical friendship we know ever is the friendship of Krishna and Sudama. Some people become very selfish and do friendship with rich, clever and high social status people only for their own benefits. Such friends never support in bad times of the life instead always want to get benefited by them. They leave their friends in bad times however true friends never leave their friends alone and help them whenever they need.

Many selfish people make rounds of the good people to make friendship with them. The recognition of true friends become only in bad times as true friends never left alone and bad friends always do opposite. We should take caution of such selfish friends while making friendship to them anytime in the life. Real friends always help their friends whenever they become in need. There is a common saying about true friendship “A friend in need is a friend indeed” and “Fortune brings friends but adversity tries them”.

True friends have good character, good feelings and well wishes about their friends. They never try to give pain to their friends in the life instead they help them always by being in touch forever. True friendship has no any blood relation however does more than any blood relation.

Friendship Speech 4

Good morning to the Excellencies, respected teachers and my dear friends. I would like to speech on the topic of friendship. First of all I would like to say lots of thanks to my class teacher who has given me such a great chance to speech at this occasion. Friendship is one of the most precious and beautiful relationships in this world. This relationship is not a blood relation however do a lot more than all blood relations which we cannot imagine and express into words. Real and true friends become the pillar of strength for us who always give us needed emotional support and physical support.

True friends never feel bad in spending their precious time and feel greatest joys of them whenever their friends need help in bad moments of life. It is very tough to get true friendship in this world however not impossible. We should not get tired and always search for the good friends throughout the life because it is hard to get but not impossible.

True friends always become together throughout the life together with fulfilling their responsibilities towards their family. Friendship is a lovely relationship memorizes us with sweet moments all through the life. We see movies, listen songs, see TV serials, eat food, study and other works together without any hassle. Some questions arises in the mind of everyone such as why good friends are necessary in the life, why true friends have more value than other relations in our life, what is the truth of this invisible bond which holds two or more friends together for years or lifetime, what lessons a true friendship teaches us and so many questions.

Trust is very necessary in all relations however it comes naturally in the matter of friendship. True friendship goes on forever with the mutual trust and proper understanding. Trust and understanding increases when relationship becomes deep and mature with time. Sometimes our best friends take deeper place in our heart more than our parents, brothers and sisters. We always believe on our best friends and follow their judgement blindly with the confidence that they never lead us on wrong way.

We always remember all the nice moments with friends such as sharing toys, favourite possessions, lunch boxes, clothes, books, home works, etc. The habit of sharing with friends teaches us of being unselfish and generous whole life.

Short Speech on Friendship in English for students and children

Today I stand before you to speak on the topic of friendship. Since man is a social being, he likes to make friends and share ideas, values and even have fun together.

Everyone needs friends in their joys and sorrows as it is rightly said, “a friend in need is a friend indeed”. True friends are really hard to find nowadays. So if someone finds them, one should never let them go. People who have true friends should feel always blessed. They can find many friends, but genuine friends are hard to find.

There is an old proverb which says that a man is judged by the company he or she keeps . Therefore, it is important to choose your friends carefully. To celebrate this beautiful relationship, friendship day is celebrated on 30 July every year in several countries of the world. It is also known as International Friendship Day. However, in India and some other countries, it is celebrated on the first Sunday of August.

This reminded me of a poem we used to recite at school when we were kids:

Speech on Friendship 500 Words in English

Good morning to one & all present here. I am here to express my views on friendship. I am extremely overwhelmed that I am allowed to speak on this friendship day occasion. Friendship is the most sacred & beautiful relationship on this earth. A friend is a gift that we all give to ourselves. It is one of the most important human relationships. It is all about love, care, trust, sharing & happiness.

A best friend is someone who is always there for you in your hard as well as happy times. Friends are those who scold us for our wrongs did & also do praise us when we do something great. They are part of all the ups & downs of our lives. They understand us to the fullest & show us the right path. They are the ones who make us comfortable in any situation, with whom we can share all our thoughts openly.

A friend is someone who never judges us & gives us the right pieces of advice. A friend is essential to understand life, as the influence of a friend is so high that it even changes the meaning of life for us. Friendship is a divine relationship that is beyond the definition of blood. It is priceless & cannot be compared with anything else in this world. So it is always very vital that you choose your friends wisely, as God has given us the right to choose a friend.

Choosing someone with good thoughts, positivity leads our life in that direction, but it often ruins life if we do not choose friends wisely. There should be love, care, understanding & sacrifice for each other. If there is ego, selfishness & jealousy, then it can never be termed as friendship. Krishna & Sudama from age-old is the best example of friendship, who were always there for each other in their difficult times.

Those persons are fortunate who come across a true friendship as it is tough to find today’s world. We all have friends but having a long-lasting friendship is very rare. Having a good friend is like a true blessing of God, who will be the person of your needs. The person who can turn your mood on & can make you happy in any circumstances. Friends are like chocolate chips in the cookie of life to whom we all need to preserve for a lifetime.

Happy Friendship Day!

Speech No.1: Speech on Friendship

  • Speaker: School And College Student, Teacher
  • Audience: Students, Teachers, General Publi c

Good Morning to one and all present here. I am going to give a speech about friendship.

Do u ever think about what you would have been without your friends?? Isn’t it interesting that we are not born with friends but when we die we have different bonds with friends?

Woodrow Wilson once said, “ Friendship is the only cement that will ever hold the world together .”

Let me make it simple — as u know what is the use of cement? it holds the bricks together for any building means it is the foundation of the building and holds it tightly and makes it strong. But did you ever realize the importance of friendship is the same in our life?

We don’t have any control over our parents, our genetic makeup, or the happenings that take place in the world around us. Friendship is precious because it allows us to connect with individuals who share our values or interests.

Throughout the lifespan, there is an ongoing correlation between social support and physical as well as mental well-being, and one essential source of support is our friends.

Friendship ends our biases. We don’t distinguish on the terms of religion, status, caste, etc while making the bond. Our mythology also has such examples as in the friendship of the lord Krishna and Sudama. We can realize how pure this bond is.

Have you ever wondered how in today’s modern era where many people are introverted and who do not like to socialize? Do you ever realize the role of social media in this case? Let me tell you one case where some Instagram user posted a photograph from her school and just wanted to find out one of her childhood friends but you know what happened to the particular reel that went viral and guess what she got her friend this way. Isn’t it cute? This is what social media does. It allows you to build strong connections and now you can share everything and anything with them. Apart from this, you can stay connected with your old friends too without fearing the physical distance between both.

But then how did we come to lose friendship? You all must have heard that school is the only place where you will find the best friends or circle of your life because over time it becomes a type of selfish relationship that’s why most of you don’t consider your peers from college your friends.

We only consider a person’s positive traits when we first become friends, but as time goes on, we become sensitive to a person’s negative traits and end up severing our friendship with them. A solid friendship is one in which we are able to recognize our friends’ strengths and weaknesses and support their mutual growth. It is only natural to be there for them during their difficult times and share their sorrows and complaints if you enjoy making jokes and having fun with them.

Finally, I’d like to point out how tough it is to find a good friend.  All we need for a happy life are friends. Everyone benefits from enduring relationships.

Add In Your Speech

Note: If you had a good incident with your friend then share the whole incident at the start of the speech. That story works as an attention grabber.

1. Emotional support: True friends provide us with emotional support during challenging times. They offer a listening ear, a shoulder to lean on, and words of encouragement. Knowing that we have someone who understands and empathizes with our struggles can make all the difference.

2. Increase in happiness and well-being: Genuine relationships increase our overall happiness and well-being. True friends bring joy, laughter, and a sense of belonging to our lives. They celebrate our successes and share in our joys. Having someone to share life’s ups and downs with increases our overall life satisfaction.

The Kind of Friend I Want To Be

Meghan Ryan

“But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth.” 1 John 2:20 (NIV)

Pinterest Image

My thumbs flipped through my phone to start scrolling social media. Without much thought of what would pass my eyes that morning, I was stopped when I saw the picture: a group of my old friends, all smiling and looking like they were having the best time celebrating a big life event together.

We all used to be good friends. Friends who, at one time, I would have expected to call me in a moment like this. Things were different now, and when I made some hard decisions to change the way I had been living, it put distance between us. I was still in touch with a few of them, but it wasn’t the same.

No matter how much time has passed, the sting remains. It feels like rejection, and it’s hard not to take it personally. Is it me? Did I say or do something to make them not include me? Do they not like me anymore? Or am I just not a cool enough friend to be included?

I found myself wrestling with all-too-familiar feelings of: Not being the first choice … Not getting invited to the party … Being the last to know someone’s big news … Only getting called in a crisis and not getting called to celebrate …

In the middle of those emotions, I found myself remembering 1 John 2:20: “But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth.”

The word “anointed” means “to be set apart.” Meaning that, in Christ, we have the Holy Spirit and therefore are anointed. We have been given a mission to bring hope, freedom and Good News about who Jesus is to a world that desperately needs it.

What is the truth we know? The truth we know is found in the person of Jesus, who seemed to always get called. He got called when someone needed to be healed, (Mark 5:21-43) when the dead needed to be raised, (John 11:38-44) when the hungry needed to be fed (Matthew 14:13-21) and when someone’s sin needed to be called out. (John 4) Most of the stories we read about Jesus involve Him stepping into a crisis and not a celebration. And many of the people Jesus was there for eventually turned away from Him, too.

Sometimes the whole “following Jesus” thing feels like it costs being the “cool” friend.

Even knowing all of this, it’s easy to still want to be the kind of friend who is admired, included and fun. But what do I want more?

I want to be anointed more than I want to be admired.

I want to make an impact for the Kingdom more than I want to be included in earthly events.

I want my friends to experience freedom more than I want them to think I’m fun.

Can I tell you something else? Who you are is not found in what other people think of you; it’s found in the person of Jesus and who God has called you to be.

We are called to be women who speak the truth in love, (Ephesians 4:15) who spur each other on (Hebrews 10:24) and encourage one another. (Hebrews 3:13) This doesn’t mean we let people walk all over us; it means we have grace and seek friendships where both people are putting effort into the relationship.

The friendships you long for are possible.

Being set apart sets us up to be the friends who help set each other free. The friends who point each other back to our identities in Christ, who fight for each other and who stay when things get hard. The friends who try to live like Jesus.

This is the kind of friend I want to be.

God, thank You for the Truth You offer us in Jesus. Thank You that, even when rejection stings, You are there. Will You teach us how to be the type of friends You’ve called us to be? Will You provide the friends we need in this season? Show us how to live “set apart” even when it’s hard. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Importance of Friendship Speech

Among the many people, we meet, some click with us and become our friends. One gets to know about the authenticity of their friendships as and when time passes and people get to know the other ones in a better way. Importance of Friendship Speech is one of the popular ASL Topics and given below are two sample speeches that can help you prepare for your English assessment.

Learn how to write a speech along with many tips and tricks!

Sample 1: Importance of Friendship Speech (200-300 words)

Good morning everyone! I am ABC and today I stand before you to present a speech on the importance of friendship. Friendship is among the few relations we choose for ourselves, all other relations are the ones we are born with. People who become friends soon turn as close as our families. Friendship is not a blood relation instead it is a heart-to-heart connection that is voluntary. It rejuvenates the soul, gives a purpose to live life, makes good times memorable and rough phases liveable.

According to a study, people who have genuine friends in their life are less susceptible to chronic illnesses such as depression, high blood pressure, anxiety, and obesity. However, just like a coin, friendship has two sides. One may come across people who are highly manipulative, selfish, and narcissistic. Such people are deemed toxic and can ruin one’s life. A not-so-genuine and fake friendship makes your life appear bland, hampers self-confidence and self-esteem. On the other hand, a true friendship helps you embrace positivity, look for meaning in life’s problems, make life enjoyable, and elevates self-confidence and self-esteem. Be cautious of your company and if you have found a set of few genuine friends, then make a voluntary effort to keep in touch with them and make them feel important. Honest friends are a valuable and priceless treasure that very few people come across in their life. Finally, I would like to conclude on a positive note that a true friendship is a journey with an end.

Sample 2: Importance of Friendship Speech (400-500 words)

Good morning everyone! I am ABC and today I stand before you to present a speech on the importance of friendship. Well-known philosophers from across the globe have talked about how friendships have helped them in shaping up their personalities and achieve success. The most valuable and priceless gift one can get is an honest friend.

In today’s world, it is becoming very difficult to trust someone completely, people fear betrayal and deception from their friends and that tells us how important true friendship is for an individual. We all, at times, fail to recognize who our true friend is and it is important to look out for certain qualities in your friends to trust them.

True friends are honest with each other, give each other time and stay with each other through thick and thin. One can freely communicate with their true friend without any kind of hesitation and be their true authentic selves with them. People don’t need to appear pretentious in front of their true friend. When life is smooth sailing, everyone wants to befriend you but see the ones who stand with you in tough phases of life. These are the people whom you should trust and count upon. A true friend will genuinely appreciate and criticize you because they believe in mutual growth and success. Acceptance and sacrifice are the prerequisites of an authentic friendship. Remember, selflessness unites and selfishness divides. For being a genuine friend, be clean-hearted and trustworthy enough, so that someone can count on you.

Friendship makes life worth living, refreshes the soul, makes you feel good about yourself.

However, an ugly friendship can ruin an individual completely and hamper self-esteem. Some of the modern problems, such as depression, divorce, obesity, and suicidal tendencies are connected to friendship. Whereas a genuine friendship can transform you in the best possible manner and help you self-actualize.  Friendship is what children, adults, and old people crave because a real friendship helps you smile more, cry less, and enjoy life to the fullest.

But always stay away from people who ghost you in times of need, never care about your well-being and make it difficult for you to live your life and stay happy. Finally, I would like to say that friendship is not a one-way street on which you can walk alone. Friendship is a two-way highway where, on both sides, love and communication must flow unhindered. Thank you so much to all of you for being patient listeners.

1-minute Speech on Importance Of Friendship

Life is like a journey on a long road. On this journey, we meet many people. Some of these people become special to us. We call them friends. Friendship is like a precious gem we find on our journey.

Friends are important in our lives. They are like the family we choose. They stand by us when we are happy and when we are sad. They share our laughter and wipe our tears. They give us advice when we are confused. They tell us our mistakes to help us become better.

Sometimes, we feel lonely and lost. This is when friends act like a guiding star. They light up our path and show us the way. They give us hope and courage. They make us feel loved and important. They remind us that we are not alone.

Friends are also like mirrors. They show us who we are. They reflect our strengths and weaknesses. They help us understand ourselves better. They make us realize our worth. They motivate us to reach our goals.

But remember, friends are not just for fun. They are not just for sharing jokes and playing games. They are for supporting each other, for learning from each other. They are for growing together, for making each other strong.

So, let’s value our friends. Let’s cherish the moments we spend with them. Let’s learn and grow together. Because, without friends, our journey would be less colorful, less joyful, and less meaningful.

Writing 3-minute speeches

An engaging speech may capture the attention of the crowd and properly capture the spirit of the event. On the other side, if it is poorly written or disorganised, a dozing audience will miss your point. There is no one ideal structure for a speech. You should instead choose what will resonate with your audience the most.

1. Importance of Stories

Beginning with a story engages the audience, and using stories to break up your speech illustrates the concepts you’re talking about using instances from real life. You might also choose to tell snippets of a single story throughout your speech to illustrate your point. If you’re speaking to a group of professional women with kids, for instance, a story about work-life balance is appropriate. Pick a story that is relevant to your audience. Infrequently, if ever, are overtly political or religious statements appropriate.

2. Simply the Facts

It could be advisable to stick to only the facts while presenting a subject while looking for methods to make them applicable to your audience. But no matter what you talk about, keep your speech’s goal in mind at all times. You run the risk of losing the attention of your audience, and making a point with a long, winding speech isn’t particularly effective.

3. Ordered Chronologically

Your tale or the information you’re conveying must make sense in the order you present it, which typically entails using chronological order. If you’re discussing company law, for instance, you should start with earlier laws and tell a tale about how those rules have been modified or updated. It is feasible to deliver a speech in reverse chronological sequence, but you must make sure your audience understands this to avoid misunderstanding. Give the audience frequent dates or other points of reference to serve as the context for the timing of your speech.

4. Organizing Advice

By outlining your speech, you can make sure that you follow the proper flow and concentrate on the most important points rather than getting lost in the weeds of details. Make a rough draught of your speech, then practise it so that it flows naturally before you give it. Take a list of the key points you want to discuss in your speech and consult a subject-matter expert for any information that is either missing or superfluous to ensure that you cover what you need to.

5. Use of Diction

We select our words based on the circumstances we find ourselves in and the audience we are speaking to. The language you would use with your friends might not be appropriate for your boss. Pick the appropriate words for your audience in order to deliver a speech that is effective. The language you use must be clear to them. It is preferable to stay away from using slang because your language must also be acceptable for the topic. You do not need to poke fun at the audience or try to be amusing. Since audiences are able to tell when a speaker isn’t being sincere, speak from the heart and don’t just say what you think the audience wants to hear. You’ll be able to express yourself more strongly and with more emotion as a result.

6. Speech Patterns

Different speeches are needed for different circumstances. A three-minute presentation in class about your ideal job has a different format than a speech to your graduating class. Learning the appropriate format for various speech kinds is simple. There are various varieties of speeches, all of them ranging in form and length. Impromptu, demonstration, educational, persuading, or tribute speeches are a few examples. Each speech is appropriate for a particular situation in life. Select the speech structure that best fits your circumstance, then formats your speech in line with it. Be mindful of your introduction. Strong opening approaches, sometimes known as “hooks,” come in a variety of forms, including tales, rhetorical questions, shocking claims, striking facts, or simply acting in an unexpected or out-of-the-ordinary manner.

Preparing 3-minute speeches

One of the best strategies to make sure you deliver a compelling presentation is to practise your speech beforehand. Consider using these hints to aid in your preparation:

  • Your speech should be organised logically with an introduction, body, and conclusion.
  • Before giving a speech, frequently practise and rehearse it. Try practising in front of a mirror or with friends acting as your audience. Use a timer to help you pace your speech, and be careful to do so.
  • Learn about the podium or other location where the speech will be delivered. Find out the size of the stage, the location of any steps or impediments, and the best places to enter and exit.
  • Always keep a professional impression while dressing comfortably .
  • Regardless of whether a speech is humorous, serious, or technical, visual aids should fit it. The primary function of visual aids is to facilitate audience comprehension and reinforce key ideas of a speech in distinctive and engaging ways.

Practising 3-minute speeches

It’s common for jittery, distracting body language and a lack of preparation to ruin otherwise effective speeches. Practice your speech after you’ve planned and written it.  You have not practised enough if you need to read your speech word-for-word from your notes. You will feel more assured as you practise more. The best way to get rid of tense body language is to have a buddy videotape you speaking so you can see it repeatedly. While speaking, pay attention to how your hands are moving; they should be at ease.

Pay attention to how you stand; you should be tall and straight. Be mindful of your eye contact. Keep your eyes off of your notes, the floor, or the ceiling. Change your jewellery if it is noisy. Don’t touch your face or hair. Do not clasp your hands behind or in front of your back, and refrain from putting your hands in your pockets. Before giving your speech, repeat this procedure multiple times to make sure you have broken these undesirable habits.

The Big Day

Arrive early at the location on the day of your presentation. Wear clean, acceptable apparel, and go for the look that gets you the most compliments. Make sure your cell phone is off and remove any large objects from your pockets. Check your loudness in the room before you start to make sure you are loud enough. Make sure you can make eye contact with those seated at the audience’s margins by paying attention to where they are seated. Check the location in advance to make sure there are no obstacles like wires or cables that could cause you to trip if you wish to move while speaking. All of these actions will support your confidence grows.

Don’t try to improvise during your speech; instead, speak as you did when you were practising. Keep in mind that feeling anxious before, during, and especially after your speech is natural. This is neither a flaw nor a weakness. Use your anxious energy to make your speech lively and engaging if you have done your preparation and practising well.

Delivering 3-minute speeches

Public speaking that is effective and confident should appear natural. In truth, it takes most people a lot of time and practice before they feel comfortable speaking in front of an audience. To overcome stage anxiety, present yourself with confidence, and keep your audience interested, you can employ a variety of tactics.

1. Avoid showing any nervousness while speaking.

Imagine yourself as someone who is imparting knowledge to others who are willing to listen. Don’t worry too much about how you’ll come across while nervous: When a speaker claims to be really frightened, audiences can not help but notice their anxiety. You perceive it as far worse than your listeners do. It doesn’t really matter whether you’re anxious as long as you act calm.

2. Create positive body language

The grin is the most significant facial expression. This forges an immediate connection with your audience and will win them over. Use your facial expressions to emphasise important points: Your speech will look more believable as a result.

It’s important to stand up straight, space your feet slightly apart, and keep your arms at your sides. Do not sway or place your hands on your hips when speaking. You’ll come across as more assured and credible if you appear grounded. Avoid making “closed” motions like crossing your arms or knees or posing for a picture with your arms behind your back. A mental barrier is put up between you and your audience as a result.

3. Use gestures for achievement

To make your message easier for the audience to follow, use your arms and hands. Effective, self-assured body language captures listeners’ attention. Together, your body and words can convey a potent statement. Make sure to vary your gestures to avoid coming out as a robot.

To effectively emphasise ideas, adjust your body language to the size of the area you are working in. Make powerful motions when giving a speech! Tentative, hesitant acts might give you a doubtful, unconvincing appearance.

4. Make eye contact to captivate others.

Make as much eye contact with your audience as you can to engage them (and appear interested in them). Don’t only focus on one welcoming face. Make sure you engage the entire audience by looking at the folks at the rear and on the sides in addition to the front. Observe the crowd more intently than your notes. Not something you read from, notes should be prompt.

How to make a 3-minute speech interesting?

People worry that they will have to “dumb down” their important research due to time constraints, however, this is not the case!

A punchy message and an engaging brief speech can shed light on the breadth of your research and make the worth of your thoughts clear.

If you make the most of your three minutes and plan your speech effectively, you will have plenty of time to accomplish this.

  • Deliver a message that is quite obvious.
  • Present a “top and tail” component.
  • To clarify a complex concept, use metaphors and other verbal illustrations.
  • Instead of “making a formal speech,” speak as if you are having a conversation with your listeners.

Examples of 3-minute speeches

  • A 3-minute speech on the topic “Life”.
Good morning to everyone in this room. I’m here today to speak about life and share my opinions with all of you. Life is a never-ending process that must come to an end eventually. Life is all about creating and adoring oneself. a quotation for you: “Life can only be comprehended by living it backwards.” The potential to live a meaningful life and help others do the same is presented by life itself. It makes no difference how long you live. However, how well you lead a good life matter. Death is a constant menace to our life. Everyone will eventually die, but that doesn’t mean we should stop trying to live life to the fullest or pursue our ambitions. A person is only intelligent when they are prepared to face their destiny when it calls, but in the meantime, they should cherish every moment. There is an air of preparation. Every person goes through a journey in life where they must cross the bridge of death in order to awaken to eternal life. Life itself is a genuinely priceless gift. Every moment we have in our life gives us the chance to do something to grow and display our virtues. Every instant unlocks the path for us to accept blessings. The reality is that both good and bad things happen to us in life. What matters most is how we respond. God has given us life as a gift in the hope that we will do our best to make it meaningful. Each of us is a special individual. Respect your uniqueness since no one was born exactly like you and no one ever will be. I frequently come across people who accuse God of something they themselves do not possess. They constantly curse their lives. But do they understand how priceless this life is in and of itself? If we make life worthwhile and strive diligently for positivity. Finally, I’ll say that we ought to make life valuable. Life should be made beautiful by the affection of our family and friends. By carrying out our responsibilities in our families, our workplaces, society, and the larger globe, life can be more beautiful and meaningful.

How to Make a Long-Distance Friendship Work

3 minute speech on friendship

I f you see Alexandria Agresta breaking into a wide grin, one of her best friends—who lives thousands of miles away—probably just sent her a meme or an inspirational quote from Instagram. The person may or may not have included a note about why they liked it. Either way, the notification dinging on her phone thrills her. “It’s this really powerful symbol that during their busy day, they saw this thing and thought of you,” says Agresta, 30, who lives in Miami. “It gives me tingles. To me, in this digital age, it’s such a beautiful symbol of connection—like the digital form of unconditional love.”

Agresta, whose long-distance BFFs live around the globe, saves all the Instagram posts her friends send her in a special folder on the app. Then, when she’s feeling lonely, she can click through—and that big smile will return.

While nurturing long-distance friendships takes work, the payoff is worth it, experts say—and even small gestures like those that are meaningful to Agresta can keep bonds alive. “You have to find ways to keep that friendship special,” says Kristen Suleman, a therapist in Houston whose clients often bring up long-distance friendships. “It’s all too easy to have different schedules, and live in different time zones, and be like, ‘Out of sight, out of mind.’ You have to let that person know they matter to you, and that the role they play is irreplaceable.”

We asked experts—and people working to maintain their own long-distance friendships—to share their favorite ways to keep those bonds strong.

Check in about communication preferences

First, get clear on how much communication will help each person feel like their needs are being met, advises Jerilyn Adams, a therapist in Milwaukee who estimates that 90% of her friendships are long-distance. One friend might be happy with the occasional check-in, while another is staring at their phone, awaiting a text that never arrives. Having a direct conversation about what the right amount for each friend is can help prevent feelings of being forgotten about or not prioritized, Adams says.

Keep in mind, too, that each person might prefer a differ type of communication. Jacqueline Shaulis, 47, of Martinsburg, W.V., has been cultivating long-distance friendships for years, in some cases with people she’s never met in person. One friend exclusively texts; another always calls on the phone. “We’ve all come to respect one another’s way of connecting,” she says. “It happened over time, with a lot of trial and error. It’s just about finding that rhythm that allows you to nurture the friendship consistently.” When in doubt, she adds, always ask.

Schedule regular virtual or phone catchups—and make them special

Suleman and her friends, who have lived in different parts of the country for around 20 years, make it a point to schedule monthly or bimonthly calls. Since she and many of her best friends are parents, the calls are often after the kids’ bedtimes. “We schedule them a few weeks out,” she says, because otherwise busy schedules might keep these catchups from actually making it onto the calendar. As she points out, “Life can happen—but we try to commit to it.”

When Suleman wants to let her friends know she’s thinking of them, she Venmos them $5 or $10 and tells them to get a treat on her. “It’s just the gesture that matters,” she says. “Sometimes we do that right before a catchup call, and it's like we're having coffee together because we went and bought it for each other.”

See each other in person when you can

Friend trips require a financial investment and a lot of coordination, but if you can swing them, they ensure you always have something to look forward to. Plus, they prove you're committed to keeping the friendship alive. Suleman and her friends do one annually; they’ve been to Seattle and Miami, for example, and this year, they’ll do a girls’ weekend in New England.

If a trip sounds like too much of a splurge, get creative about ways to make a get-together work. Brianna Paruolo, a psychotherapist in New York, suggests visiting each other’s cities and, if possible, staying in your friend’s home. Hosting each other “can be cost-friendly,” she says, “while also promoting more quality time.” If you’d still like to travel somewhere new, skip the star-power destinations and focus on more affordable places.

When you’re in the planning stage, Suleman suggests maintaining a shared Google doc or iPhone note where you can brainstorm ideas about where to go and what to see when you get there. “It's been such a collaborative thing,” she says. “We say, ‘Where have we been, and where have we not been?’ It helps us build those shared experiences.”

Agresta and her friends, meanwhile, like to have at least one trip on the calendar at all times, usually to a music festival, since that’s something they all enjoy. “It’s like killing three birds with one stone,” she says. “You get to see each other, see an artist, and travel somewhere new.” Though they aim to take one group vacation a year, they’re sometimes able to pull off more; last year, the long-distance friends saw each other five times. “If we have at least one on the calendar, that’s perfect,” Agresta says. “But we’re pleasantly surprised when it’s more than that.”

Find small ways to keep each other updated on daily life

When you and your friend live in different parts of the country, you miss out on all the day-to-day details that create a shared history. That’s why Adams suggests keeping each other updated: sending links to restaurant menus before you go out to eat, for example, and mentioning the names of the people you’ll be with, instead of simply referring to them as “friends.”

Another way to do that, Suleman adds, is to get into the habit of sending each other audio messages throughout the day. It’s a simple way to keep in regular touch, without having to pour a lot of mental energy into crafting a long text or email.

Get your whole family involved

Suleman and her long-distance friends make it a point to show photos of each other’s families to their kids. That way, it’s clear “they’re important in our lives, even though we don't see them very often,” she says.

On birthdays, the friends take things a step further and enlist their entire family to help make a festive video. Maybe they sing in it; maybe they all learn a celebratory TikTok dance to mark the special day. “Whether it’s for them or their kids, it shows you’re thinking of them,” Suleman says. “It’s an easy thing to do, but it makes a big difference.”

Don’t underestimate the value of snail mail

Go old-school and write handwritten letters to your friends, advises Natalie Rosado, a licensed mental-health counselor in Tampa. You can add surprises like drawings, trinkets, books, friendship bracelets, or even photo prints from the last time you got together. “Handwritten letters are personal and meaningful,” she says. “They add a nostalgic and tangible element to the friendship.” Your friend might display them on their wall or refrigerator and look that way every time they need a spark of joy in their day.

Create a shared photo album

Suleman and her friends send each other photo texts regularly, but sometimes, things get lost in the chaos of the day. So they created a shared photo album that they can all add to and peruse when time allows. “There’s no pressure or expectation, but whenever any of us thinks of it, we try to add a few,” she says. “It could be things that are important to each of us—one friend will be like, ‘Look at these gorgeous flowers.’ And someone else will be excited about their kid’s outfit.”

If you’re feeling especially motivated, you could even set up a monthly photo challenge. Assign a theme—like home-cooked meals or dramatic views—and at the end of the month, share your top five to 10 favorites with each other. “It provides a window into daily experiences and keeps the connection vivid,” Rosado says.

Participate in activities together

Who needs proximity? Today’s technology allows friends to embark on all sorts of projects together, even across time zones. Depending on what you’re interested in, you and your friend could start a blog, a digital scrapbook, or even an online business together, Rosado points out. “Working toward a common goal strengthens the bond,” she says. Or choose a weekend night to make dinner together: You can follow the same recipe, and cook or bake together over FaceTime. Once it’s time to enjoy the dish, keep chatting—allowing the conversation to, finally, veer away from how many cups of milk you need and whether the meat looks too crispy.

Another idea: Join an online fitness class together or follow the same routine from a platform like YouTube. “Share progress, motivate each other, and even exercise together over a video call,” Rosado suggests.

Show up for each other’s milestones

Agresta recently became a DJ, and she invited her favorite people to her Miami rooftop for a special debut party. All her long-distance best friends made the trip. Even those who live on the other side of the country told her: “We wouldn't miss it for the world. We’re going to be there,” she recalls. The experience taught her that it’s essential to make an effort to be there for each other’s milestones, and not just weddings or new babies. “Those are a given,” she says. “But for me, becoming a DJ was really important, and I wanted everyone I loved to be there. That was like my wedding,” and it wouldn’t have been complete without the presence of long-distance friends.
