MMath Thesis Presentation
Please complete the following form to request to give a master’s thesis presentation. this information is also used to ensure that your master’s thesis presentation is posted on the cs website as well as announced to the cheriton school of computer science through the weekly scs newsletter. .
If you are presenting in person : If you wish to give your master’s thesis presentation in person, please email [email protected] first to book a suitable room. Indicate the purpose for the booking, as well as the date, time and number of people expected to attend. When you have the room booking confirmed, please include that information in the online form below.
If you are presenting virtually : Please include the full link and passcode for the video presentation platform you will be using. If you do not have the video presentation platform link available when you submit your request to present, please send it to Joe Petrik by email as soon as it is available.
Creating a Zoom link for your presentation Graduate students or their supervisors can generate a Zoom link for their master’s thesis presentation using the university’s Zoom account at https://uwaterloo.zoom.us . Once on that page, click on Sign In . You will require two-factor authentication to log in. After you have logged in successfully, schedule a date and time for your Zoom meeting, then copy the Zoom link AND passcode into the appropriate fields below.
Please note : When your master’s thesis presentation is posted on the CS website, the embedded password (i.e., the bit of the Zoom URL that begins with ?pwd= ) will be deleted to thwart videobombers, who have in the past disrupted presentations.
If the embedded password is deleted from the Zoom link people will need the passcode to attend your presentation. This is why we need the passcode as well as the URL. The Zoom passcode will be announced internally within the School of Computer Science in the weekly SCS newsletter. It will not be posted publicly unless you specify otherwise.

University of Waterloo on Overleaf
Quick start.
The University of Waterloo has a site agreement with Overleaf to provide an upgrade to Overleaf Professional, free of charge, for all faculty, staff and graduate students.
We are sorry, but UW undergraduate students are not eligible for this upgrade under the current site agreement. However, anyone can sign up individually for free or paid accounts from Overleaf at https://www.overleaf.com/signup .
Overleaf is designed to make the process of writing, editing and producing research papers and reports much quicker, easier and more convenient for both single-author and collaborative documents. Overleaf Professional features include real-time track changes, unlimited collaborators, and full document history. Documents can be edited from anywhere through a browser without installing LaTeX on your devices. Overleaf can also be linked to other services such as reference managers to best fit into your workflow.
Eligible Waterloo graduate students, faculty and staff should claim their free upgrade on Overleaf by signing up (or signing in) below. You'll need to verify a uwaterloo.ca email address in order to receive the upgrade.

General guidelines Though doctoral dissertations and master's theses can take different forms depending on the department, all graduate thesis submissions at the University of Waterloo must be structured according to the university's standards. We strongly suggest not copying from other students' submissions, instead using one of the approved templates produced by IST.
Searching UWSpace for Architecture Theses. UWSpace is the University of Waterloo's open access institutional repository for research and scholarship. All theses and dissertations published from October 2006 onwards, including those from the School of Architecture, can be found in UWSpace. All theses are publicly accessible unless embargoed.
UWSpace is the University of Waterloo's institutional repository for the research and scholarship produced by its faculty, students, and staff. UWSpace contains all theses and dissertations published from October 2006 on, and a subset from 1996 through 2006, when electronic submission was optional.
In 1997 the University began a pilot project to examine the potential for having students submit their theses electronically. The project proved successful. A number of theses now reside in the UWaterloo e-thesis database. Effective October 2006, the University thesis requirement is one electronic copy (PDF format) only.
