  • 5 Works Cited

Lowering the drinking age to 18 would make a lot of sense in the world. Lowering the drinking age to 18 would make more sense. It would be better for the teens that drink on college campus. The drinking age should be lowered to 18 because you can vote at eighteen, buy tobacco, it’ll reduce the thrill of breaking the law, evidence supports that early introduction of drinking is the safest way to reduce juvenile alcohol abuse , and college people that are not 21 drink also. If teenagers that are now turning 18 can vote, then they should be able to drink at the age of 18. If teens are 18 and old enough to vote, they should be able to drink. Saying they can vote, is calling them responsible and mature enough to pretty much vote. At age 18, …show more content…

Tobacco, can give the person doing it buzzed or drunk and give them the risk of a disease. Therefore, in the long run, the person will probably regret doing tobacco. It’ll reduce the thrill of breaking the laws. Teens find it exciting to break the law. Once they start breaking the law, it’ll get them addicted to the thrill of breaking the law. They’re going to want to keep breaking the law just to be cool. (“Reasons”). When they break the law, they think that since other people won’t do it, that it’s going to be cool to break the law and look bad. Most parents should know that almost all kids drink. If they know that their kids drink, why not let them have legally drink at 18, with not having their kids get in jail for drinking under age. (“Age”). For example, why would you go through the trouble if your child drinks and gets caught because they’re not 21 yet, but are in college and over 18 and you have to bail them out? Therefore most college kids aren’t even 21 yet, but are still exposed to alcohol and drink. Early introduction into drinking will reduce binge drinking. If people are introduced into drinking early, they’ll be drinking moderately. Scientific evidence supports that early introduction to drinking is the safest way to reduce juvenile alcohol abuse. Young people in France, Spain, and Argentina, rarely abuse alcohol. They start drinking within their families, which sees drinking in moderation as natural. They rarely

Lowering The Drinking Age Pros And Cons

It must be recognized that young adults will drink alcohol, no matter what the legal age. As thought to be a gateway to more drinking problems, reducing the age to 18 can benefit our society. Prohibiting teens from drinking in bars, restaurants, and public locations has the effect of forcing them to drink in unsupervised places such as fraternity houses or house parties, which can be very dangerous. Lowering the drinking age would create a safer drinking environment, creating a higher chance of adult supervision who will promote more responsible drinking among intoxicated teens. As stated in the PostStar article for the pros and cons of lowering the drinking age, “When adolescents are not taught to drink in moderation, they end up binge drinking.”

Minimum Limited Drinking Age Law

Minimum limited drinking age law in America was passed more than 30 years ago. Therefore, it needed to be altered to catch up with today’s world. Teenagers today are no longer the kind of teenager back in the 1980s. Now, they have access to information on the Internet, they were taught how alcoholic drinks affect to the body, they were supervised by their parents closely. Moreover, teenagers even have legal access to voting, driving, owning a car,...and they can be jailed up if they break the law, sentenced in prison if the crime was serious enough. Therefore, teenager should be able to control of their life and have access to alcohol as a right they supposed to have long time ago.

Should Drinking Age Be Lowered Essay

In the U.S., teens can do a lot once they turn 18. Citizens at the legal age can choose the potential leader of our country, serve our nation, live in their own place, and start killing themselves with cigarettes. Lowering the law for alcohol consumption will help more minors at the legal age and college campuses stay out of trouble. Half of the students drinking and providing alcohol at school are under 21. Changing the law to 18+ will also help alcohol related deaths by teaching teens to drink responsibly. Exceptions are only just making the law for drinking more complicated and causing more alcohol related deaths. Not everyone knows about these drinking laws either because people travel from state to state. Not knowing all the deviations to the law is putting more lives in danger than it is

America Is Against Minimum Legal Drinking Age

First, Americans 18 years old already have many adult rights. America believes that people 18 years old are legally considered an adult in this country. According to New York Times article named “Return the Drinking Age to 18, and Enforce It” mentioned that “American 18 years old have the right to vote, marry, buy guns, get a tattoo, vote in local or general election, and join the military.” Americans 18 years old have enough responsibilities to do many things these days. Some laws don’t have to get parents’ permission to do it. If America allows minimum legal drinking age, then our teenagers will learn more and figure out new responsibilities in life. Since high school doesn’t teach teenagers how to be an adult, it’s a great opportunity for a student who’s ready for adult life. American should allow 18 years old to drink alcohol as well as other many adult rights.

In most European countries moderate drinking is common by teenagers. These teens have been taught about the dangers of alcohol and were brought up by parents who let their children experience alcohol moderately. Lowering The Drinking Age To 18

Alcohol is a great way to suffer a slow and painful death, and sometimes a quick death in cases such as drunk driving, killing yourself and maybe another person. If the legal drinking age was lowered from 19 to 18 (the age that you become an “adult”), teens would acquire health problems, the suicide rate would increase, the families of the drinkers would become financially unstable, and crime rates would increase. By not lowering the drinking age to 18, there is one more year for teens to become mature and one more year to keep these teens and many other people around us safe.

Persuasive Essay On Lowering The Drinking Age

There seems to always be a debate whether the drinking age should be lowered to a younger age or not within in the United States. It is heard amongst a lot of younger students who think that it is right to lower it because they still drink and think that is right. They have no idea what drinking at a young age can do to a person's mental and physical being. The drinking age should not be lowered to 18, but kept at the same age of 21 because lowering it can cause problems later on in someone´s life.

The Drinking Age Should Be Changed Essay

We shouldn’t deny people 18-20 years old the right to drink. In fact, a good solution for that age group would be too allow the 18-20 year olds to drink but they would legally only be able to drink a lower proof of alcohol. “High non-compliance with drinking under 21 promotes general disrespect and non-compliance with other areas of US law. Drinking under 21 encourages young adults to acquire and use false identification documents to procure alcohol. In this era of national security concerns, including terrorism, illegal immigration, and other threats, it would be better to have fewer fake IDs in circulation and more respect for the law. “Lowering the drinking age from 21 and over to 18 and over would diminish the thrill of breaking the law and drinking under age”. Lowering the drinking age from 18 to 21 would also reduce the number of underage people who are hurt from alcohol-related injuries or accidents due to fear of legal consequences if they sought medical

Changes are always good most of the times, and I know this one in particular is an excellent
