യുദ്ധങ്ങളും സംഘർഷങ്ങളും ഇന്നോ ഇന്നലെയോ ഉണ്ടായതല്ല, പ്രാചീനകാലം മുതൽ മനുഷ്യരടങ്ങുന്ന ജന്തു ജീവികൾ പരസ്പരം കലഹിച്ചും കൊന്നും കൊലവിളിച്ചുമാണ് ജീവിച്ചു പോന്നത്. ഇതിനിടക്കെവിടെയോ മനുഷ്യൻ ബുദ്ധിപരമായും സാമൂഹികമായും വ്യതിചലിച്ചു, പരിഷ്കാരത്തിന്റെയും വിവേകത്തിന്റെയും പാതയിൽ സഞ്ചരിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി. എങ്കിലും കലഹിക്കുന്നതും തമ്മിൽ തല്ലി ഇല്ലാതാകുന്നതുമായ സ്വഭാവം കൈവിടാതെ സൂക്ഷിക്കുകയും തരം കിട്ടുമ്പോഴൊക്കെ അത് പ്രകടമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു പോന്നു. പലപ്പോഴും ഇതിന്റെ ഇരയാവുക ധൈര്യക്കുറവും ദുർബ്ബലരുമായിരിക്കും. ഒരുപക്ഷേ നിഷ്കളങ്കരും ആവാം.

ഈ നൂറ്റാണ്ടിൽ നാം സാക്ഷിയായ യുദ്ധം ഇറാഖിന് മുകളിൽ അമേരിക്ക നടത്തിയ യുദ്ധമായിരുന്നു. ഇപ്പോൾ ഇതാ റഷ്യ - യുക്രയ്ൻ യുദ്ധവും. ചെർണോബിൽ ആണവ ദുരന്തത്തെപ്പറ്റി അറിവുണ്ടായിരുന്നുവെങ്കിലും പഴയ സോവിയറ്റ് യൂണിയന്റെ ഭാഗമായിരുന്ന യുക്രയ്ൻ എന്ന രാജ്യത്തെ പറ്റി കൂടുതലും അറിവ് കിട്ടുന്നത് സന്തോഷ് ജോർജ് കുളങ്ങരയുടെ സഞ്ചാരം എന്ന ടെലിവിഷൻ പരിപാടിയിലൂടെയായിരുന്നു. മലയാള ഭാഷയുടെ ശുദ്ധ പദപ്രയോഗങ്ങൾകൊണ്ട് സമ്പന്നമായ യാത്രാ വിവരണങ്ങളിലൂടെ, ഓരോ രാജ്യങ്ങളിലെ വിവരങ്ങളും ചരിത്രവും അവിടങ്ങളിൽ സന്ദർശിക്കാതെ തന്നെ നമ്മുടെ മനസ്സുകളിൽ ആഴത്തിൽ പതിപ്പിക്കുവാൻ സഞ്ചാരം എന്ന പരിപാടിക്ക് സാധ്യമായിരുന്നു. ചെറുപ്പകാലത്തെ സോവിയറ്റ് യൂണിയൻ , സ്പുട്നിക്ക് , എന്നീ മാസികകൾ വീട്ടിൽ വരുത്തിയിരുന്നതിനാൽ ഗ്ലോസി പേപ്പറിൽ പതിഞ്ഞിരുന്ന ചിത്രങ്ങളിലൂടെയും മറ്റും സോവിയറ്റ് യൂണിയനെ പറ്റി ഏകദേശം അറിവ് ലഭിച്ചിരുന്നു. എന്നിരുന്നാലും യുക്രയ്ൻ എന്ന രാജ്യത്തെ പറ്റിയും അവിടുത്തെ ഒഡെസ, കീവ്, ഖാർകിവ് എന്നീ നഗരങ്ങളെ പറ്റിയും അവിടുത്തെ ഗ്രാമപ്രദേശത്തെ കുറിച്ചും പിന്നെ മൃത നഗരമായ ചെർണോബിലിനെ കുറിച്ചും മനസ്സിൽ ആഴത്തിൽ പതിഞ്ഞത് സഞ്ചാരം എന്ന പരിപാടിയിലൂടെയായിരുന്നു.

പിന്നീട്, മക്കൾ വളർന്നുവലുതായപ്പോൾ അവരുടെ ഉപരിപഠനത്തിനുള്ള സാധ്യതകൾ തിരയുമ്പോൾ വീണ്ടും യുക്രയ്ൻ മുന്നിലെത്തി. യുക്രയ്ൻ മാത്രമല്ല, സോവിയറ്റ് യൂണിയന്റെ ഭാഗമായ ജോർജിയ, ഖസാഖിസ്ഥാൻ, കിർഗിസ്ഥാൻ എന്നീ രാജ്യങ്ങളിലും എന്തിനേറെ റഷ്യയിൽ പോലും ഉപരിപഠനത്തിന് സാധ്യതകൾ ഏറെയുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. മക്കളുടെ പല സുഹൃത്തുക്കളും ഈ രാജ്യങ്ങൾ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുകയും അവിടങ്ങളിലേക്കു ചേക്കേറുകയും ചെയ്തപ്പോൾ പ്രലോഭനങ്ങൾ പലതുമുണ്ടായിട്ടും എന്തുകൊണ്ടോ മക്കളെ നാട്ടിൽ വിട്ടു പഠിപ്പിക്കുവാനാണ് തീരുമാനിച്ചത്. തീരുമാനങ്ങൾ ഓരോരുത്തരുടെയും വ്യക്തിപരമായ കാര്യങ്ങൾ ആണല്ലോ.

മക്കളുടെ സുഹൃത്തുക്കളിൽ കൂടുതലും ഈ രാജ്യങ്ങൾ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തത് മെഡിക്കൽ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസത്തിനു വേണ്ടി തന്നെയായിരുന്നു. എന്തുകൊണ്ടാണ് സ്വന്തം നാടും വീടും വിട്ടു വിദൂരദേശങ്ങളിൽ കുട്ടികളെ വിട്ടു പഠിപ്പിക്കാൻ മാതാപിതാക്കൾ തയാറാവുന്നത്? പലപ്പോഴും പല കോണുകളിൽ നിന്നും ഇവിടങ്ങളിലെ മെഡിക്കൽ യുണിവേഴ്സിറ്റികളെ പറ്റി അംഗീകാരമില്ലാത്തവയും (ചിലതെങ്കിലും) നിലവാരം കുറഞ്ഞവയെന്നും ആക്ഷേപങ്ങൾ കേൾക്കാറുണ്ടെങ്കിലും ഇന്നത്തെ കാലത്തു വിവരങ്ങൾ അറിയുവാനുള്ള വിശാലമായ സംവിധാനങ്ങൾ ഉള്ളപ്പോൾ അവ തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞു അർഹമായ ഉന്നത നിലവാരമുള്ള യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റികളിൽ കുട്ടികളെ എത്തിക്കുവാൻ ഇന്നത്തെ രക്ഷാകർത്താക്കൾക്കു സാധിച്ചിരുന്നു. ധാരാളം അംഗീകൃത ഏജൻസികൾ ഇന്ത്യയിൽ നിന്നും കുട്ടികളെ ഇവിടങ്ങളിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നുണ്ട്. കേരളത്തിലും ധാരാളമുണ്ട്. ആറുവർഷത്തോളം വീടുകളിൽ നിന്ന് വിട്ടുനിൽക്കേണ്ട കുട്ടികളുടെ

ആരോഗ്യകാര്യങ്ങളിലും ഭക്ഷണകാര്യങ്ങളുമായിരുന്നു ആദ്യകാലങ്ങളിൽ ആശങ്കയുണ്ടായിരുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ ഇപ്പോൾ ഗ്രൂപ്പുകളായി പോകുന്ന കുട്ടികളുടെ കൂടെ ഓരോ പാചകക്കാരും പോകുന്നുണ്ട്. അത്യാവശ്യം മരുന്നുകളും കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നുമുണ്ട്. കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്ന ഏജൻസികളുടെ റെപ്രെസെന്റേറ്റിവ്‌കൾ കുട്ടികളുടെ ഉത്തരവാദിത്വവും ഏറ്റെടുക്കുമ്പോൾ മാതാപിതാക്കളുടെ ആശങ്കകൾ കുറയുന്നു.

ഇനിയുള്ള ആക്ഷേപം, ഈ കുട്ടികളുടെ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ നിലവാരത്തെ പറ്റിയും രാജ്യത്തോടുള്ള കൂറിനെ പറ്റിയും മറ്റുമാണ്.

ഒരു കാര്യം ശ്രദ്ധേയമാണ്. കുട്ടികളുടെ ഇടുങ്ങിയ കാഴ്ചപ്പാടുകൾ നഷ്ടമാകുന്നു. ചിന്തകൾ വിശാലമാകുന്നു. സൗദി സ്‌കൂളുകളിൽ പഠിച്ചിരുന്ന മക്കളുടെ സുഹൃത്തുക്കൾ പലരും വിദേശങ്ങളിലാണ് പഠനമെങ്കിലും കടലോളം പഠിക്കാനുള്ള പാഠ്യപദ്ധതികൾക്കിടയിലും അവർ തമ്മിലുള്ള സൗഹൃദം പഴയതുപോലെ ഇന്നും സൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. യുദ്ധം കലുഷിതമായ യുക്രൈനിൽ നിന്ന് തിരികെ എത്തിയ കുട്ടികളുടെ സഹ ജീവി സ്നേഹം നമ്മൾ കണ്ടതാണല്ലോ. നാട്ടിലാണെങ്കിലും എവിടെയാണെങ്കിലും കുട്ടികളുടെ സ്വഭാവസവിഷേതകൾ ഒന്ന് തന്നെയാണ്. വളർത്തു മൃഗങ്ങളെയും പക്ഷികളെയും കൈവിടാൻ അവർക്കാവില്ല. പഠനം കഴിഞ്ഞു സ്വന്തം രാജ്യത്തു പ്രാക്ടീസ് ചെയ്യുവാൻ കഴിയാതെ വരുമ്പോൾ മറ്റു രാജ്യങ്ങൾ തേടി പോകുന്നതിൽ ആർക്കാണ് തെറ്റുപറയുവാനാകുക. നമ്മുടെ നാട്ടിലെ രാഷ്ട്രീയ സാംസ്കാരിക സാമൂഹിക കലുഷിത അന്തരീക്ഷം ഇഷ്ടമാകാത്തവർ അതിൽ നിന്നും രക്ഷതേടാനായി സമാധാനം തേടി മറ്റു രാജ്യങ്ങൾ അഭയമാക്കുന്നവരുടെ കണക്കുകൾ അതിവേഗം ഉയരുകയാണല്ലോ.

Myths and Legends; 'Modernist' Malayalam Novels in English Translation

"This essay is based on my analysis of three famous novels written in Malayalam - The Legends of Khasak and The Saga of Dharmapuri by O.V Vijayan, and On the Banks of the Mayyazhi by M. Mukundan. The dreams of a ‘community/society’ are related to their homeland. The importance of a particular ‘place’ has been of great importance in Malayalam literature ever since novel, as a genre, started taking the paths of Modernism. Here, in most of these novels, the importance of ‘place’ is asserted using certain myths and legends. The novelists created specific ‘landscapes’ to moor the idea that we are all finally rooted to our definite ‘locations’. Of course, this was influenced by the Modernist writings in Europe, like Franz Kafka, Thomas Mann, and James Joyce etc. As most literary historians agree, late nineteenth century fiction marks the beginning of European Modernism . If 'place' is an element of space, narrative space can be defined as the fictional universe presented by the narrative discourse. "

Novel, as a literary genre has always struggled to capture the anxieties embedded in national histories. The politics, ideologies and cultural conflicts of nations have always been part of the history of novel. Infact there need not even be a separate category called novels of national history. Every novel is woven by the threads and strands of the nation in making. The spatio-temporality of the genre in its European origin and its colonial dissemination, made the novel an integral unit of the nation state. Most novels of national history of the colonial period thus write new representations of colonial histories, sometimes even by inventing scores of intricate discursive methods. The novels of C. V. Raman Pillai in Malayalam confront the colonial dilemma by inventing many linguistic time-spaces within a single historical periphery that ranges from pristine Sanskrit to the most local vernacular expression 1. Raman Pillai was infact one of the first writers in Malayalam who had to face the trauma of reconceiving locales as nations. This is why heperhaps painted his Travancore rather ahistorically as asovereign nation state, a historical replica of the colonial state whose domination it was facing at the time. In his historical novels, he takes the pain to avoid any reference to colonialism and Travancore's subordination to the British, while he has authored several articles decrying colonialism as the root cause of the political problems that Travancore was facing. Bewildering diversity of Malayalam dialects that Raman Pillai uses in his works were for him only one of the tools and raw materials in the kind of imaginary nation building exercise that he ventured into through his novels 2. Such meta nationalist politics was an inseparable aspect of both nationalist and literary histories of the colonial era. Raman Pillai imagined Travancore state as one giant state in opposition to the furtive threats against it, existing outside the socioeconomic history of the world at that time. In its illusoriness and in its unaccountability to the colonial history, Raman Pillai's Travancore was actually representing the inferiority of the very subjugation that he was being silent about. His conception and use of novel was rooted in its capacity as a medium that could contain this unspeakable politics as well. In this manner, through his novels, Raman Pillai could dodge and forget the violence, the injustices and unethicality of the state of Travancore and imagine that he could conquer the inferiority instilled by colonialism by staying close to the general socio-cultural politics of nation 3. On the other hand S.K Pottekad and ThakazhiSivasankara Pillai, two prominent novelists who followed Raman Pillai's generation, did not have these conflicts while writing their novels. OruDeshathinte Katha [The Story of a desham (loacle)]' by Pottekad (1971) orKayar ['The Coir] by ThakazhiSivasankara Pillai (1978/2013) and Tattakam by Kovilan (1995) are grounded in the liberal landscape of postcolonialism. They also reinvented counter-national histories, albeit through different narratives that sought to overcome the garrulousness of nationalist politics through the ironical interpolation of the histories of the small locales (desham). K. P Appan, the foremost literary critic of high modernism in Malayalam, showers eloquent praises on S K Pottekad's material historicizing and his 'objective subjectivism' that makes him craft his novels as though they were 'Kerala's monologues'. But Appan compares the historical objectivity in Pottekad's narratives to the objectivism in journalism and eventually goes on to make a parallel to Dickens's fictional landscape. An aesthetic methodology rooted in the writing of regional histories as against the grand narratives of nation building that was evident in Pottekad was thus mostly overlooked.

Almost everyone dreams of something while growing up. We all have ambitions when we are little, which change as we grow up. Ambitions lead us to a definite aim in life. Furthermore, they help us focus on our goal no matter the cost. It drives us to do better in life. Ambitions differ from one person to another.

However, one common thing usually found is that over time, people switch their ambition to something else than that which they wished to be when little. We have many people in the medical field who wanted to be dancers. Similarly, some of the greatest politicians wanted to be artists. So we see how easily one gives up on their dreams and ambition to adapt to society.

My Ambition

The ambition of any person’s life usually depends on their choice and interests. I aspire to be a great dancer . I have always had the knack for dancing from an early age. My parents always encouraged me to pursue my passion. Like most of the parents, they never discouraged me because it is not the most sought after career.

Subsequently, I wish to become a good dancer. I do not want the fame of being a dancer; rather I want the acclaim of being a good dancer. As my parents motivated me to pursue my dream, they enrolled me in dance classes. It helped me grow a lot as a dancer and also enhance my skills.

Most importantly, I wish to be a dance because I want to remove the stigma surrounding this career path. I want to set an example that you can do well in life if you’re not a doctor or engineer. Especially in India, where these two ambitions are considered the most valid.

I believe in the power of dance, and how it conveys the message without words. Dance is the language of the soul, and it makes me feel alive when I indulge in it.

Why I Chose this Ambition?

It would seem odd to choose to be a dancer as an ambition, especially when everyone is in the race of becoming a lawyer , doctor or engineer . But, I still believe that just because something is not common, doesn’t mean we cannot attain it.

I wish to dance so I could teach others to become experts in this field. Furthermore, I wish to help the underprivileged section who are interested in this ambition. I want to reach a height which enables me to offer them proper dance training free of cost so they can reach great heights.

Above all, I wish to be the wind beneath their wings. I want to create awareness about the importance of dance and how it benefits us physically as well. I hope I can achieve this ambition of mine someday. Till then, I won’t leave any stone unturned in reaching the finish line.

Every night I dream of living a life of a celebrity. In my dream I see myself dressed up like a model posing for cameras. It is my dream to work in the film industry and become famous. But, for that, I will have to work really hard. My mother always tells me to concentrate on studies and live up to the dream of becoming a model. My father also supports me and he says that he believes in me. As doing business is not as easy as it seems, first I need to understand the basics of what business actually is. This will the first step towards my dream. So after completing my intermediary, I have enrolled myself in a reputed college to do my Bachelors in Business Administration (BBA). After completing BBA, I will also do my Masters in Business Administration. By then I will have gained the complete knowledge on business and its functioning which will help me reach my dream.

Apart from the theoretical part, I can always count on my father to share with me the practical experiences and advices that will help me shape my dream. This will take me closer to my dream of becoming a successful businessman. I have also started reading magazines about successful businessmen and their success stories in order to gain some idea that will help me in the long. I will put the best of my efforts and work hard towards achieving my dream.

Introduction:

My dream to become a Soldier started on an Army Day (January 15th), when I was still in High School. I witnessed the tribute paid to martyred soldiers at the Amar Jawan Jyoti in India Gate. It was followed by parades displaying Tanks, Missiles, and War Helicopters etc. The impression I received that day motivates me to realise my dream to become a Soldier.

Love of a Soldier:

The history of Indian independence and the life of freedom fighters has always fascinated me. Those who were responsible for the air of freedom we breathe today, loved our motherland and dedicated their lives to its well-being. These seeds in me have developed a sense of love for the country. It has also nurtured my dream to become a soldier and safeguard it.

Spirit of a Soldier:

Apart from academics, I started to collect all details about how to realise my dream to become a Soldier. I began to understand the values that inspire a Soldier to willingly face challenges and responsibly safeguard the nation even at the cost of his own life. This inspired me to study well and keep myself fit to achieve my dream to become a Soldier.

Training of a Soldier:

I also understood about the training before service. The feeling of pride and mutual loyalty is imbibed among the trainees. They are also trained to willing sacrifice for the country’s honour, with a do or die spirit. A sense of fearlessness, fairness and honesty are inculcated during the disciplined training. These components further kindled my dream to become a Soldier.

Lifestyle of a Soldier:

On the one hand, the soldier’s life is a life of self-sacrifice. On the other hand, the lifestyle it offers far exceeds my expectation, and fuels my dream to become a Soldier. Opportunities to advance in ranks, paid study holidays, subsidized housing, free medical coverage and recreational facilities are provided, apart from regular salary and perks. Lifelong pension is awarded after retirement.

Many young people in the country offer the time of their life to work for big Corporates. But, I am here to pursue my dream to become a Soldier and dedicate my life to the welfare of the nation. I often encourage my friends to follow my dream to become a Soldier, at least for a short service tenure ranging from 10 to 14 years.

At a very early age, my dream was to do something big in life. But along with that I still had some fears also. I want to have a successful career, and for this, I had set an aim. It is quite essential for everybody to get them to establish professionally and successfully. Besides this, few other dreams are also necessary for me like health, relationships, and many different aspects of life. However, I also fear to get fail in achieving all these targets.

Career Dream and Fear:

When I was a kid, my dream was to become a doctor. But during my growing age, the Bollywood industry fascinated me and then my dream of becoming doctor changed to an actor. When I passed my class 12 th , the only goal that hit my mind was becoming an engineer. I always fear of dreaming about big things, but if you have potential then, you can achieve anything in life.

Dream and Fear of Health and Fitness:

When I was young, I was not so much concerned about my health. But now I realized the importance of having good health. My dream of becoming fit and healthy was only achieved due to strong willpower and eagerness of doing regular exercise. With this thought, I managed to lose around 15 kg easily. Now, I don’t fear about eating any food as I compensate that with my daily workout.

Dreams and fear about the relationship:

There is a special place of relationships in my life, and sometimes I fear about losing the important people in my life. But, now I realize that instead of thinking negative, we should try to spend more time with the people. It is as essential as my dream of good career.

Thinking only about the career and success with the little amount of fear might not offer you complete happiness later. It is good to become serious about your career, but you should also try to overcome any fear for a more successful life ahead.

Life is a dynamic process that has its ups and downs. Juggling the disparities of life can be very stressful at times and that is why you get your mind wondering in thoughts. Most thoughts are usually based on what people desire, which we call the dream life. The desires in life may not always be achieved but it is good to have a picture or at least an idea of the kind of life on desires to have. In America, people have the American dream but you as an individual should ask yourself; what is your dream life?

How my dream life looks like:

Socially, I have always imagined myself being a very influential person in my society. Currently in school, I always have the urge to influence someone but I still lack the confidence and resources to do so. I have always wanted to travel the world and explore different cultures of the world through interactions with people. I also imagine of having a great family with whom I can travel the world with.

Career-wise, I want to work at the comfort of my own home and be flexible so that I can always have time for my family. Spiritually, I have a desire to always be in good terms with God and follow the doctrines of my religion.

Economically, I want to be self-actualized at an early age so that I can focus on my influential personality, having all the resources I need. I want to be satisfied with what I will have achieved and work on living a happy life.

How I plan on living my dream life?

Living the dream life can begin any time that you chose to be as an individual. For my dream life, the things that I can achieve while still at school is the ability to have a spiritual wellness and flowing the doctrines of my religion. I can also start learning to appreciate whatever I have and living a happy life.

For the desires that I cannot achieve at the moment, I will work towards achieving them by shaping and redirecting the pathway. For example, my career, I will pursue something in the university that will allow me to work from home without necessarily going to work.

A dream life is basically the desired of one’s heart inform of an imagination. A dream life does not affect the reality in any way.

A dream is something that helps you to mold your future and aim your life to an appropriate goal. Dreaming big will help us to work for it harder and finally achieve it. Without desire and aim in life, we cannot focus and work hard to fulfill our dream.

My Dream to become a Doctor:

The biggest dream of my life is to become a doctor. I have seen many doctors, who save other people’s lives and they feel happy in the satisfaction they get through this activity. I want to be a doctor, who will serve good for this society and help poor to get good medical care without expecting big money in return.

Doctors are respected in all places and among all types of society. In spite of being different in many things like wealth, religion, etc., everyone will be in need of the best doctor to treat them honestly. I dream of being one such doctor to whom anyone can come without any doubt and fear of being tricked.

I don’t want to be a doctor who just works for money. I want to help others who can’t afford big budget treatments and choose their fate due to their lack of money. When a person is cured of their illness, the smile that appears on their face will be the greatest reward I will ever get. My dream is to become a doctor, who is praised for the kindness and get rewards through others blessings.

How to become a Doctor?

To get the admissions in a medical seat is not that easy. But I will work hard and crack the competitive exam to get a merit seat in the college. I will work hard from the beginning to end to improve my knowledge and keep updated about every upcoming and ongoing development.

I would like to choose the specialization when I can actually decide which one will suit my desire. I have an aim to serve the people in their needs and once I grow big enough to decide the correct career to fulfill my dream, I will work harder to achieve that as well.

After achieving My Dream:

Once I complete my whole medical courses I would be looking to practice in a well-reputed hospital to perfect my job. With this perfection I will start my own clinic and serve people for the rest of my life along with this I will help other students also to get trained to become a good doctor. I will make sure that my dream will come true at the best time.

We all have some sort of ambition or dream. My dream is to become a world class chef. Dreams play a very important role in moulding our future. There is a saying that “if you can imagine it, you can achieve it; if you can dream it, you can become it”. This saying implies that if you can work hard and put in your best to achieving your dream, it is very possible to live your dream. Working hard to achieve ones dream is easier said than done but if you put in your best effort and never give up, dreams are achievable.

In the path of achieving my dream, it is important that I take one step at a time. Even if I have a very big dream of becoming a word class chef, it is best for me to take steady and small steps by setting both long term and short term goals, by doing this, I am always working towards achieving my dream. When I take one step at a time, it helps not to rush into decisions and take things easy.

I know becoming a world class chef is not very easy and can only happen if complete and proper training from a very reputable institute and there isn’t much I can do at the moment to speed up the realisation of my dream since I am still in school. However, I still do my best to set my dream rolling, I follow a lot of cooking websites and blogs, watch cooking shows, read culinary books and I practice my cooking to sharpen my skills every time. These are all little steps I am taking towards achieving my dream. Though my goal is to become a world class chef, I have small goals in place for each month and year to come so that I can reach my dream.

A major hindrance to achieving my set goals and my dream is the lack of inadequacy of motivation. A lot of people have given up their goals and dreams just because they got tired on the way. It is extremely important to remain motivated and only stop is when the dream has been achieved. Highlighted below are some useful tips that I have used to keep myself motivated on the journey to reaching my dream:

i. Anytime I see that I am running out of drive and energy and I am becoming too tired to stick to my set goals, I try to remind myself of what my dream is and the feeling of pride and joy I will experience when I achieve it and become a world class chef. It feels like pressing a reset button and starting with a refreshed mind again and working harder towards achieving my dream.

ii. Long term goals and short term goals are set towards the ultimate goal of achieving my dream and as I reach these short term goals, I try to reward myself for my achievement. The reward can vary from eating dinner at my favourite restaurant or buying myself a new phone I wanted or going out with my friends. Rewarding myself is a very good way to remain motivated towards the achievements of my goals and ultimately my dream.

iii. When I work too much and have no time to relax and play, my productivity drops and I become dull. Therefore, it is a good idea to have some time for myself away from work to focus on something fun that I love. I find time in my schedule every day to engage in some form of leisure activity or sport.

iv. Having people who believes in my dream and support my goals around me makes all the difference. Having positive people helps me find the strength and courage to push on and not give up on my dream. They motivate me to work hard and do the best to achieve my goals and my dream.

v. A mistake is nothing more than an experience and an opportunity to try again and do things much better. So, instead of getting heartbroken and disheartened to the point of wanting to give up on my goals and dream when I face a tough time or make mistakes, I learn from the mistakes and move on as the tough times and mistakes make me a lot stronger.

I will keep working hard towards achieving my dream and I believe that I will become a world class chef one day.

I had got a chance to be with a couple of people early in my life who were in the same field and it is from here that I got so much stuck up with this profession that I have dreamt day and night to be a part of this elite team. Moreover, I feel that I have it in me to research about things as well as people and am known in my circles to extract information from nowhere. I feel that this talent of mine can prove helpful for the country as well. Intelligence plays a crucial role in the security establishment of the country. The inputs gathered from intelligence units help the government and the forces to plan their steps both at diplomatic and at the level of securing the borders.

Another thing which excites me about this dream is that it is not a conventional field such as common occupations which are sought after by most of the youth of our country. Another very important thing to mention here that you need not formally join the intelligence to realise this dream. By keeping a check on your surroundings and providing proper information to the police in case you notice an unfavourable incident is also a form of your contribution to the security agencies of the country. If everyone remains active, a lot many incidents such as terrorist attacks can be averted.

India is proud to be home to people of different castes, creeds, and religions. The country is known for its rich culture and unity in diversity. It has also seen a boom in various industries over the past few decades. However, we still have a long way to go. Here are some of the areas that we need to work on in order to make it an ideal nation:

There is a lot of economic disparity in the country. The rich here are becoming richer, and the poor are becoming poorer by the day. I dream of India, where wealth is equally distributed among the citizens.

Lack of education is one of the main hindrances to the growth of the nation. The government is making efforts to spread awareness about the importance of education. However, it should also take steps to ensure that each and every person in the country seeks education.

There is a lack of good employment opportunities in the country. Even those who well-qualified fail to get deserving jobs. The unemployed highly dissatisfied, and they often take the road to crime. I dream of India that provides equal employment opportunities for all so that each of us works for the growth and betterment of our country.

Casteism is another major issue that needs to be worked upon. India of my dreams would be a place where people are not discriminated against based on their caste, creed, or religion.

India of my dreams would a place where women are given due respect and treated as being equal to men. It would be where women’s safety would be of utmost importance.

I dream of India as being a place free of corruption. It would a place where the political leaders would dedicated to serving the countries rather than fulfilling their own selfish motifs.

Technological Growth

India has seen rapid growth in the field of technology. I want it to grow at an even greater pace and attain newer heights to make its place among the first-rate countries.

I dream of India, where people of different castes, creeds, religions, ethnic groups, and economic/ social statuses live in perfect harmony with each other. There should be fair play, and government must ensure equal employment opportunities for all its citizens.

India of my dreams would a country where freedom of equality enjoyed in its true sense. It would a place where no discrimination is done on the basis of a person’s caste, creed, religion, or social/economic status. I also dream of it as a place that sees an abundance of industrial and technological growth. Here are some of the areas that particularly require attention:

Women Empowerment

Though more and more women are stepping out of their homes and making a mark in different fields, there is still a lot of discrimination against women in our country. From female foeticide to restricting women to household tasks, there a lot of areas that need to worked upon. Many non-profit organizations have come forward to promote women’s empowerment. However, we still have to work a lot on changing the mindset of society. I dream of India that sees women as an asset, not a liability. I want it to be where men and women treated as equals.

Though the government of India is making efforts to promote the significance of seeking education, many people in the country still don’t realize its importance. India of my dreams would be a place where education made mandatory for all. The government must go further to ensure that no child in the country is devoid of education.

Employment Opportunities

Many qualified youths in the country fail to get good employment opportunities. The opportunities limited or do not pay enough to the deserving candidates. This is mainly because of weak industrial growth. Other factors, such as reservations, prevent deserving candidates from getting good opportunities. Many youths who fail to get good employment opportunities in India fly abroad and put their minds to work for other countries’ economic growth, while others roam around unemployed.

Caste Discrimination

The country is still not completely free of discrimination on the basis of caste, creed, and religion. It is sad to see how people belonging to the lower and weaker sections are even denied their basic rights in certain parts of the country. Besides, various fundamentalist and separatist groups provoke people to propagate their religion and talk ill about others. This often leads to unrest in the country. I dream of India, where people not discriminated against based on caste and religion.

Corruption is one of the main reasons why India cannot grow at the speed it should. Instead of making an effort to serve the country, the political leaders here are busy filling their own pockets. I dream of India, where the ministers dedicated wholly and solely to the country’s and its citizens’ development.

India of my dreams would be a country that sees all its citizens as equal and does not discriminate against them based on any criteria. I dream of a place where women respected and seen as equal to men. I also want India to see advancements in science, technology, agriculture, and education in the times to come.

India is where people belonging to different ethnic groups, castes, and religions live amicably. It boasts of a rich, variegated cultural heritage. Though colonized for a long time, India has come a long way since its independence. It has seen huge social and economic growth over the last couple of decades. However, the county has a lot of economic and social disparity. People also looked down upon because of their caste and religious preferences in many parts of the country. India of my dreams would be where every citizen enjoys true freedom of equality.

Areas of Improvement

There are a number of areas that our country still needs to work upon in order to grow and develop further. Here is a look at the four key areas that require immediate attention:

Education is the building block for any nation. One of the major drawbacks in our country is that people still do not recognize the importance of education. Those living in poverty or below the poverty line particularly overlook the importance of getting educated. They do not realize that lack of education is one of the main factors responsible for their poverty. The Government is taking steps to ensure that more and more people have access to education by promoting the right of free and compulsory education for children and by opening adult education schools. India of my dreams would a place where every citizen educated and skilled.

Gender discrimination another issue that needs to worked upon. While women are becoming aware of their rights and are doing well in various fields, they still have to fight many odds to make their place in society. The birth of a girl child still considered a curse in many parts of the country. Girls not encouraged to go for higher studies. Even those who well-qualified expected to look after their family post-marriage rather than working outside. At work, the wages paid to women are lesser than that paid to men, and the list of discrimination goes on. I dream of an India that is devoid of discrimination against women.

Technological Advancement

While India has seen a lot of growth and advancement in science and technology, it still requires working harder in this sphere. It is sad to see how genius minds from the country fly abroad to seek employment opportunities and contribute to those countries’ technological and industrial advancements rather than contributing to the development of their own country. I dream of India that offers good employment opportunities to deserving individuals and together all work towards the further technological advancement of the country.

The crime rate in India is growing by the day. Numerous rape, robbery, dowry, and murder cases reported daily, and many others go unnoticed/unreported. Lack of education, unemployment, and poverty majorly attributed to this. India of my dreams would be a country where the government is more sensitive toward the safety and security of the people. It would be a place free from all kinds of crime and exploitation.

India has seen rapid industrial growth, technological advancement, and progress in several other fields over the last few decades. However, there is still a lot of scope for improvement. India was once called the golden sparrow because of the prosperity it enjoyed. I want the country to attain that glory yet again. I do not want it to enjoy just economic richness but also become richer culturally and socially. All the citizens of the country must treated equally, and there should no discrimination or injustice.
