  1. [Review & Discussion] Uprooted by Naomi Novik is a wonderful ...

I love that the title of the book fits in about a dozen different ways: Agnieszka is uprooted from Dvernik when brought to the tower, the girls are uprooted when Sarkan keeps them for a decade, Agnieszka is again uprooted when away from the valley, Sarkan tries to stay not-rooted by not consuming anything from the valley, roots are often ...

  2. Uprooted by Naomi Novik

Buddy read with Fantasy Buddy Reads This was my first review in 2017, and it started a new milestone: my first ever 1-star rating.I would actually give Uprooted a negative rating if I could because this is literally the worst novel I've ever read in my entire life. Feel free to check my other reviews, and you should be able to notice that I'm quite generous with my ratings, but giving this ...

  3. Book Review: Uprooted by Naomi Novik

Book Review. According to the author, Uprooted was not written as a YA novel, but it was marketed as such — understandable, considering its young protagnoist, fast moving plots, promient romantic storyline, colorful but somewhat simplistic characters. It also suffers from some standard YA pitfalls — overly-hormonal characters, too-tidy ...

  4. REVIEW: Uprooted by Naomi Novik

The book picked up in the last quarter and the explanation of how the Wood came to be was satisfying, without being too byzantine. All in all, Uprooted was well worth reading and even has convinced me that I should be more open to other books in the genre. For that, I'm giving it an A-.

  12. Uprooted by Naomi Novik

Uprooted by Naomi Novik - My Review. Well, this was an interesting read. This story took several surprising directions I did not expect at all. When I picked up this book, I expected a whimsical romance set in a magical forest. But, Uprooted can barely be called a romance. It is more a long, unpredictable magical war intertwined with a bit of ...

by HowAboutBiteMe. 'Uprooted' by Naomi Novik. I haven't enjoyed a book so much in years! I can't even say clearly what it is that I love about this book. 19. Book Review : Uprooted

When I first heard about Uprooted, I was expecting it to be like Dragon Rose by Christina Pope, which was a retelling of Beauty and the Beast, but with a dragon as the beast! Her memories as a young girl on the farm make for some of the richest, most affecting scenes in the book. But Uprooted is more than a family memoir; it is also an "exercise in discernment.".
