30 Adorable Kindergarten Graduation Ideas for a Day They’ll Always Remember

Celebrate your students!

Kindergarten graduation ideas

Looking for creative and memorable ways to celebrate the end of kindergarten with your students? Look no further! We have a list of kindergarten graduation ideas that you can add to your plans. Whether your school has an official graduation ceremony or not, there are plenty of exciting and fun ways to commemorate your students’ achievements and growth throughout the year. From DIY decorations to graduation-themed games and activities, this list has everything you need to make your students’ graduation day a truly special and meaningful event.

1. Hold a graduation ceremony

Kindergarten students wearing red graduation caps and gowns

One of my favorite things at the end of each year is to watch my students put on their fancy clothes/cap and gown and receive a small rolled-up piece of paper to celebrate the end of the year. We sing a few songs and recite a poem or two. Parents are overjoyed and it’s a great time for all.

2. Hand out certificates or diplomas

Kindergarten graduation printable diplomas

Whether you hold a graduation or not, you can print off Kindergarten Graduate Certificates for your students. I give them away after graduation or put them in their end-of-the-year baggies with goodies that I send home like a memory book.

3. Have a photo booth frame

Creating a DIY graduation photo frame can be a fun and inexpensive way for students to showcase their graduation photos and memories.

4. Put together a slideshow

Kindergarten Slideshow featuring illustrations of kids with and their names

Gather all the pictures you’ve taken over the year and turn them into a kindergarten slideshow. For years, I would make DVDs of the pictures for parents to take home. Now, I make the video and turn it into a QR code. No worries about messing up a DVD. They can play the video for years to come.

5. Decorate the classroom

Decorate the classroom for graduation day. If the graduation ceremony is in your classroom, add colorful paper, arrange the chairs for students and families, and wish them well with simple grad decor.

6. Make a time capsule

Students can make a time capsule for their senior graduation. Parents can donate a shoebox, then students can fill it with their favorite things and memories from kindergarten. It’s a simple and very memorable idea to save for when they graduate high school.

Framed kindergarten graduation letter with photo of student and teacher.

At the end of each year, I write a short note to each student. It can be a memory that we had together, something I really enjoyed about their personality, or just saying how much I loved having them in my classroom. I usually write these in their memory books, but you can put them anywhere. I found a wonderful example from Keepin’ It Kool in KinderLand.

12. Create a graduation wall

Wall with string and kindergarten students' graduation photos hanging from it.

A graduation wall can help students look toward the future. Have them take a picture with a sign. Then, you can add each picture to your editing software of choice and add what they want to be when they grow up in the font of your choice. This is perfect for those with less-than-stellar handwriting. Print the pictures off and you’ve got a wall to celebrate!

The Ultimate Kindergarten Graduation Idea Guide for Teachers + Award Ideas for the End of the Year

Hero image

Written by Hilary Dorr

In the blink of an eye, graduation season is already upon us! Are you on the hunt for kindergarten graduation ideas you can execute easily this spring with kid-friendly songs, quotes and maybe a few end-of-year student awards you can hand out?

We know there’s a lot on your plate, so our teacher team has compiled a comprehensive guide to hosting a memorable kindergarten graduation! Read on for teacher-tested ideas, books to read, songs to sing, graduation themes and tips to plan the perfect event that families will love and students will enjoy.

Kindergarten Graduation Ideas

Graduating from kindergarten is a big milestone, and a celebration will give your students a sense of accomplishment and pride. Plus, family members will appreciate your efforts! You don’t need to spend a lot of money to mark this special time in your students’ lives. Do what you’re comfortable with, and don’t be afraid to ask for help.

Keep scrolling for ideas on hosting a classic graduation ceremony, award ideas and alternative activities if hosting a traditional award ceremony isn’t your style!

Choose a Theme

If you’re planning to go all out with your kindergarten graduation, you might want to start by choosing a theme. Although it’s not a must, a theme can sometimes make things easier as it focuses the planning. Will your kids walk the red carpet to receive their diplomas? Cross the rainbow into first grade? Here are some fun theme ideas:

  • The Places You’ll Go
  • Up and Away
  • Blasting Off to First Grade
  • We Are a Rainbow of Possibilities
  • Beach Blast
  • Cupcakes and Sweets
  • My Future’s So Bright
  • We’re a Bright Bunch

Your theme can extend from the class bulletin board all the way to the door! Here’s some inspiration from Massachusetts kindergarten teacher Katie. She chose the beloved Pete the Cat and the words College Starts With Kindergarten.

Looking for ways to save money on a decorative ceremony? Here are some ideas to consider:

  • Use just caps instead of caps and gowns. Kids can wear what they’d like and still get the graduate feel.
  • If you’re a new teacher and want to have a formal ceremony each year, add caps and gowns to your teacher Amazon wishlist. Once you have a full class set, you can use them each year instead of having families pay for their own caps and gowns.
  • Have students wear graduation crowns instead of caps and gowns. There’s nothing quite like a crown when you’re 5 or 6! (Check out these printable last day of school crowns !)
  • Keep an eye out for sales at Target and similar stores for things like letterboards and photo booth props. You can also check your local dollar store.
  • Just like caps and gowns, save graduation decor to use each year. Laminate banners and signs for easy storage with little to no damage.
  • Instead of traditional caps, have your kindergartners cut, color and create their own promotion cap for gradution!

Songs for Kindergarten Graduation

Is there even a graduation ceremony without music? Dozens of songs can fulfill your needs, whether you want to create a playlist of background music, need songs for the kids to walk to as they receive their diplomas or tunes the entire class can sing in front of their families as a special send-off.

We’ve saved you the time it would take to comb through all the songs out there to make sure they’re kid-friendly and came up with a few teacher-approved songs for the ceremony.

Here are some great songs for background music:

  • Never Grow Up by Taylor Swift
  • Over the Rainbow by Israel “IZ” Kamakawiwo’ole
  • My Wish by Rascal Flatts
  • Let Them Be Little by Billy Dean
  • You’ve Got a Friend in Me by Randy Newman
  • Send Me On My Way by Rusted Root
  • Can’t Stop the Feeling by Justin Timberlake
  • Celebration by Kool and the Gang
  • Don’t You (Forget About Me) by Simple Minds
  • You’ll Be In My Heart by Phill Collins
  • Happy by Pharell Williams (this could also be a singalong song where the kids sing during the “happy” segments and clap where appropriate)

These tunes are great for a full-class singalong:

  • First Grade, First Grade (to the tune of New York, New York)
  • You Are My Sunshine
  • ABC You Later
  • One Small Voice by Jack Hartmann
  • With a Little Help From My Friends by the Beatles
  • What I Am by Will.i.am
  • I’m Ready to Go

Graduation Ceremony

So you’ve chosen a theme and have a playlist of music. What’s next?

Having a set plan of events will help your graduation run smoothly and efficiently. Will your graduation be held in your classroom? The gym or the library? If you need to book another location other than your classroom, make sure you plan ahead to have a date and time set up just for your class.

Regardless of where you decide to host your ceremony, running through the day’s events in the week or days leading up to graduation will help your class know what to expect and feel prepared. Have they tried on their caps and gowns? Will they walk across a stage to receive their diploma? Will they shake your hand and pause for a photo op? These are all actions to consider, and a rehearsal with just the kindergartners can help prevent (or at least lessen!) chaos on graduation day.

Of course, you don’t have to plan everything on your own. Do not be afraid to delegate.

If you’re lucky enough to have some eager parents who are offering to help, let them! Reach out through email or your next classroom newsletter that you’re looking for volunteers to help decorate or assist in graduation prep. Families can help in a number of ways from organizing food to bring in, collecting decor to make your classroom festive or even helping each child get into their cap and gown before the ceremony begins.

Here’s a hypothetical list of events to get prepped for the big day:

  • Have chairs set up for both the students and their families. You may want to talk to the custodians about this early so they can plan, and the chairs in the front should be marked off so your students have a place to sit.
  • Get students dressed in their caps and gowns 30 minutes before families arrive. This gives you time to get it all done, but it’s not so early that you’ll have 30 5- and 6-year-olds milling around all dressed up with nowhere to go!
  • As families arrive, make sure there is somewhere there to let them know where to sit. You might be able to ask some pre-k parent volunteers to help out with this as they may be curious about what will happen when their children are in kindergarten!
  • Once everyone has arrived, welcome the group and give an overview of the past year (What did the class work on? What were some big milestones or accomplishments? Were there any memorable field trips or class visitors?).
  • To embellish an overview of the year, you can play a slideshow of photos while you speak or afterward with some music.
  • Hand out diplomas and any end-of-year awards (more on that below)! Make sure to pause with each child for photo ops before they go back to their seat.
  • If your students practiced a song, have everyone come to the front to perform as a final ceremonial event.
  • Thank everyone for coming, and invite everyone to have some food and mingle before going home.

Photo Tip for Teachers Teach Starter

If you plan to have a food table with snacks, desserts or a cake, ask families beforehand if there are any food allergies and label each treat accordingly. If you plan to ask families to pitch in with food items, run it by your admin beforehand.

Kindergarten Graduation Awards

Planning to award your kindergartners at the graduation ceremony? You can stick to the old standards of most improved at spelling or best student in X subject, but why not take their social and emotional learning into consideration when creating your superlative awards? This reminds our students that how we treat others is just as important as how we perform on academics.

Here are some of our teacher team’s favorite end-of-year award ideas that will make your students smile bright (and their families proud!).

  • Ask each child what they’re most proud of from the year, and create an award just for that.
  • Most smiley
  • Best sharer
  • Miss/Mr. Manners
  • Good friend
  • Kindest Kindergartner
  • Best problem solver
  • Most helpful
  • Biggest smiler
  • Team Player
  • Mega Musician
  • Awesome Artist

Books to Read at Your Kindergarten Graduation Ceremony

If you need another filler activity for your ceremony, reading a book is a sweet way to send your kids off to their summer before first grade. Here are some teacher favorites to consider that may or may not get the waterworks going for you and the families attending:

  • First Grade, Here I Come by D.J. Steinberg
  • A Letter From Your Teacher On the Last Day of School by Shannon Olsen
  • The Night Before Kindergarten Graduation by Natasha Wing
  • The Berenstein Bears’ Graduation Day by Mike Berenstein
  • Oh, the Places You’ll Go by Dr. Seuss
  • Pete the Cat I Love My White Shoes by James Dean
  • You Are a Beautiful Beginning by Nina Laden
  • Going Places by Paul A. Reynolds
  • Be You by Paul A. Reynolds
  • Just in Case You Want to Fly by Julie Fogliano
  • The World Needs Who You Were Made to Be by Joanna Gaines

How Not to Cry at Graduation

Speaking of crying … we’re going to tell you a little secret, there’s no sure way to prevent it, and that’s OK! Those bittersweet tears only show just how much you treasure your students, and they’ll feel the love that much more. Make sure you have tissues handy for you and the rest of the tearful ones.

A cute way to remember your class is to have your students sign their names and/or decorate a white t-shirt (or bag, dress, sweatshirt, etc.). You can do this a few days before the ceremony so you have a sweet keepsake to wear on grad day.

Parents are already bound to be tearful, but you’re almost guaranteed to bring on the waterworks if you have your students write out what they want to be when they grow up. Families can treasure this early goal their child has in mind. This printable template works great as a bulletin board display as well if you need some easy graduation decor!

Quotes to Use for Graduation

Sometimes a few words go a long way. Take a look at some inspirational quotes that can be used as decor, included on diplomas or written in a letter to your students to take home:

  • “You’re braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” — A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh
  • “The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease forever to be able to do it.” — J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan
  • “It isn’t where you come from. It’s where you’re going that counts.” — Ella Fitzgerald
  • “Believe you can, and you’re halfway there.” — Theodore Roosevelt
  • “You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” — Mahatma Gandhi
  • “If you can dream it, you can do it!” — Walt Disney
  • “Be bold, be courageous, be your best.” — Gabrielle Giffords
  • “Never bend your head. Always hold it high. Look the world straight in the eye.” — Helen Keller
  • “Wherever you go, go with all your heart.” — Confucius
  • “All our dreams can come true…if we have the courage to pursue them.” — Walt Disney
  • “You’re only given a little spark of madness. You mustn’t lose it.” — Robin Williams
  • “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of the dreams.” — Eleanor Roosevelt

Alternatives to a Graduation Ceremony

If you have limited planning time or aren’t a fan of a traditional ceremony, many alternatives can be just as memorable and special! Consider these activities:

  • Take a class “field trip” to the first-grade classrooms around the school . This will allow students to meet their potential future teachers and get an idea of what their classroom may look like in the fall.
  • Host a class talent show . For more shy students who may not want to sing a song or perform, invite them to participate in a show and tell so they can talk about a special item they own, share a photo they love or present something they’ve drawn or created.
  • Create a photo booth with signs that say “I graduated from kindergarten today” or “Kindergarten graduate.” Take a photo of each child so their families have a treasured keepsake from their last day.
  • Have a movie and popcorn day . You can even double up with a coworker for a combined celebratory viewing in the library.
  • Get outside with field day-type activities just for your class. There are many activities you can include, such as a water balloon toss, tug of war, potato sack race, bubble blowing station, or simply free play in the school field. Get everyone together for a class photo before students go home for the summer.
  • Host a picnic with your students’ families . Be sure to include what items you’d like families to contribute (if they can) whether it be food items, blankets to sit on or fun games that can be played outside.
  • Host a breakfast at school . Like a picnic, make sure families know what they can bring and what to expect on the last day.

However you choose to organize and execute your kindergarten graduation, we hope it runs smoothly, and you enjoy your last day of school to the fullest. Pat yourself on the back; you deserve it!

Kindergarten Graduation & End of the Year Ideas!

May 16, 2015 by Kelly Smith

graduation presentation for kindergarten

  • Kiddos would process into the ceremony down a center aisle with a partner. They would walk in holding hands (so adorable) and would walk up the stairs to the stage. I would have them stop in the middle of the stage and give each other a hug or a high five before they sat down on their chair. The chairs they sat on during the ceremony were facing the audience. The song I used for the procession was: “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” from Toy Story. I feel it is the PERFECT Kindergarten song!! I cried every year!!
  • Each of my kiddos would have a line to say, or a special job during the ceremony. They would come up to the microphone and read or say their line when it was their turn. We practiced for about 2 weeks, and I would always send home the lines ahead of time so that parents could practice with them too.
  • The kids would open the ceremony by saying “thank yous” to their teachers, families, friends, etc…
  • I even would have a “Kinder Valedictorian” who would give a small speech about his/her Kindergarten memories.
  • During the ceremony, I would also highlight objects that were “special” to our class. Like our class teddy bear, flag, Bible, bucket (for bucket fillers), special picture books, etc… These items would be brought forward by some of my shier students and would be placed on a table right below the stage. Another student would narrate on the microphone what was being placed on the table. Here’s what my table looked like:

graduation presentation for kindergarten

  • In between lines during the ceremony, we would sing certain songs that were special to our class.
  • Here are some of my favorites: “Letter Pops” by Dr. Jean , “Grand Ole Flag,” “Awesome God” (if you are at a Religious school), “Oh What a Miracle” by Hap Palmer. I would always kneel on the floor during these songs and sing with my kids/remind them of our dance and hand motions.
  • I always ended the ceremony by handing out Memory Books to my kiddos. I would announce their names, and they would walk up to my principal who would shake their hand and give them their book! They would usually pose with my principal for a quick photo as they were getting the book. She was great about doing this. 🙂 More about my memory books later in this post!

graduation presentation for kindergarten

  • After the ceremony, we always had a small reception for families to take pictures and have a little snack with the kids. We mainly served coffee, juice, donuts, sweet rolls, and fruit.
  • A nice tradition at my school was that instead of the Kindergarten parents handling the reception and setting up for it, the 1st grade room parents would do it! It was definitely a weight off my mind that they took care of setting up all the food. It was also a way for the 1st grade parents to say “thank you” for last year’s ceremony.
  • Depending on the year, sometimes I would make little centerpieces to go in the middle of the tables, and sometimes I would have a parent volunteer to do it for me.
  • I always had pictures of the Kinders up around the room, and a picture frame of the class on each table. I also had an additional gift for each child out on two or three long tables around the room for them to pick up as they were leaving.
  • My gift to the kiddos included: their writing folder, and art portfolio, and a DVD slideshow of pictures from the year. If you have a Mac, this is SUPER easy to do with iPhoto and iMovie. 🙂 Also included for each student was a picture frame that they had made in class. Inside the frame, I put a picture of them with our special class teddy bear so that they would never forget him. More about the frames later!

For your slideshow did you use iPhoto only or iMovie too? I am new to Mac 🙂 Love the Toy Story song choice…perfect….thanks so much

I used iMovie mostly actually! To burn the DVDs it works really well with iMovie 🙂

Use this product year after year! You may use many of the elements included in this bundle throughout your school year.   For example, the balloon writing templates include a goal setting prompt that I use at the beginning of the year.  In addition, you can create banners with the included pennants for any occasion.

I purchased these sets of Amazon to go along with the Oh, the Places You’ll Go theme:

I also purchased these directional signs and made up own sayings on the blank ones.  For instance, I created labels that had the arrows pointing to the auditorium and the cookies.  All you need to do is purchase full sheet Avery labels and print onto them using a large font size.  Just peel and stick to the decoration.

Most importantly, I hope that this post has inspired you to create an amazing kindergarten graduation or end of the year celebration!  Thank you for looking, and I wish you the very best of luck.  Click below to view my Graduation Resource in the Kindergarten Korner Shop Site.

I am wondering if there is any way that I can just see an example of the script. We are a private academy in search of a new K4 program. I am just curious if it would work for two classes of almost 30 kids.

Graduation Day for Kindergarten

Graduation day for kindergarten is a milestone event that marks the end of a child’s first formal educational experience. It’s a day filled with joy, pride, and celebration. Having planned and experienced many kindergarten graduations, I can share several tips and ideas to make this day unforgettable for the little graduates and their families. Here are some detailed suggestions on how to make graduation day for kindergarten students extra special.

1. Themed Decorations and Setup

Description: Choosing a fun and festive theme for the graduation ceremony can set the tone for a memorable event. Popular themes include “Under the Sea,” “Superheroes,” or “Future Leaders.” Each theme should be reflected in the decorations, activities, and overall setup to make the graduation day for kindergarten memorable.

Materials Needed:

  • Themed banners and posters
  • Balloons and streamers in matching colors
  • Graduation caps and gowns
  • Stage backdrop related to the theme
  • Props and accessories (e.g., fish cutouts for “Under the Sea”)

Benefits: Themed setups add excitement and visual appeal to the event. They create a cohesive atmosphere that enhances the celebration and makes it more engaging for the children. Themes also help in organizing the event, as Kindergarten class decoration ideas revolve around a central idea, making the graduation day for kindergarten truly special.

Personal Experience: Last year, we chose a “Future Leaders” theme and decorated the hall with images of various professions like doctors, astronauts, and artists. We had props like lab coats and helmets that the kids could wear for photos. The children loved seeing themselves represented in different roles, and it inspired them to dream big. Parents appreciated the thoughtful setup, and it made for great photo opportunities, making the graduation day for kindergarten unforgettable.

2. Personalized Graduation Caps and Gowns

Description: Providing each child with a graduation cap and gown makes them feel special and part of a significant milestone. Adding personal touches, such as the child’s name or small decorative elements, can make these items even more meaningful on graduation day for kindergarten.

  • Graduation caps and gowns in the school colors
  • Fabric markers or decals for personalization
  • Stickers or small embellishments (e.g., stars, hearts)

Benefits: Wearing a cap and gown makes the event feel official and important. Personalizing the caps adds a unique touch that children and parents will cherish. It also helps children feel more connected to the event, fostering a sense of pride and accomplishment on graduation day for kindergarten.

Personal Experience: We personalized each child’s cap with their name and a small sticker of their favorite animal. The children were excited to wear their personalized caps, and it made them feel recognized and special. During the ceremony, seeing each child proudly wearing their customized cap added a personal and heartwarming touch to the event, enhancing the graduation day for kindergarten.

3. Memorable Ceremony Program

The program can include a welcome speech, a short performance by the children, certificate presentations, and a closing speech, making the graduation day for kindergarten well-organized.

  • Program script

Benefits: A thoughtfully planned program highlights the achievements of the children and provides a sense of occasion. It keeps the event organized and ensures that each part of the ceremony flows seamlessly. Including performances by the children adds a personal touch and showcases their talents, making the graduation day for kindergarten more memorable.

Personal Experience: We included a short song performance by the children, which was a huge hit. They sang a song about moving on to first grade, and parents were moved to tears. The certificate presentation was the highlight, with each child receiving applause as they collected their certificate. The structured program ensured that everyone stayed engaged and that the event was memorable, making the graduation day for kindergarten special for everyone.

4. SlideShow of Memories

Description: Creating a slideshow of photos and videos from the school year is a wonderful way to reflect on the memories made. Show moments from classroom activities, field trips, and special events to celebrate the children’s journey on their graduation day for kindergarten.

  • Projector and screen
  • Photo and video compilation software
  • Background music for the slideshow

Benefits: A slideshow allows parents and children to reminisce about the year’s memories. It adds a sentimental touch to the ceremony and helps everyone reflect on the growth and experiences of the past year. The visual representation of their journey makes the event more emotional and memorable, adding a special touch to the graduation day for kindergarten.

Personal Experience: We compiled a slideshow of memorable moments from the school year. • Photo booth props and backdrop
  • Face painting supplies
  • Game supplies (music, chairs, prizes)

Benefits: Interactive activities keep the children entertained and add an element of fun to the celebration. They also provide great photo opportunities and create lasting memories for the children and their families, enhancing the graduation day for kindergarten.

Personal Experience: We set up a photo booth with graduation-themed props and a backdrop. The children loved posing for pictures, and it added an extra layer of fun to the event. Face painting was also a big hit, with kids lining up to have their faces painted with colorful designs, adding to the excitement of their graduation day for kindergarten.

8. Guest Speaker

Description: Inviting a special guest to speak to the children and parents adds a meaningful touch to the ceremony. This could be a local celebrity, a respected teacher, or an alumnus of the kindergarten, adding value to the graduation day for kindergarten.

  • Speaker’s bio and introduction
  • Microphone and sound system
  • Seating for the audience

Benefits: A guest speaker can inspire the children and add a special touch to the ceremony. Their words can leave a lasting impression on the young graduates and their families, providing motivation and encouragement, enhancing the significance of the graduation day for kindergarten.

Personal Experience: We invited a former student who had gone on to achieve great success in high school. She spoke about her memories of kindergarten and encouraged the children to always strive for their best. Her speech was inspiring and well-received by everyone, adding a personal and motivational element to the event.

9. Decorative Graduation Banner

Description: Hanging a large, colorful graduation banner at the entrance or stage area sets the tone for the event. Include the year and a congratulatory message to make it festive.

  • Large banner
  • Paint or printed letters
  • Decorative elements like balloons or streamers
  • Hooks or tape for hanging

Benefits: A graduation banner serves as a great backdrop for photos and sets the celebratory tone for the event. It also makes the venue look festive and welcoming, enhancing the overall atmosphere of the ceremony, making the graduation day for kindergarten even more special.

Personal Experience: Our graduation banner was a big hit with parents taking pictures. The children loved seeing their graduation year proudly displayed, and it made for some memorable photo opportunities. The banner added a festive touch to the event and made the venue look even more special, making the graduation day for kindergarten unforgettable.

10. Thank You Gifts for Teachers

Description: Showing appreciation for the teachers with thank you gifts is a thoughtful gesture. These can be small tokens like personalized mugs, gift cards, or handwritten notes from the students.

  • Thank you gifts
  • Wrapping paper or gift bags
  • Thank you cards

Benefits: Acknowledging the hard work of the teachers makes them feel appreciated and valued. It also sets a good example for the children about expressing gratitude and recognizing the efforts of others.

Personal Experience: We gave each teacher a personalized mug and a gift card. The teachers were touched by the gesture, and it was a wonderful way to conclude the celebration. The children also enjoyed giving their teachers the thank you gifts, and it was a heartwarming moment for everyone.

Kindergarten End of Year Celebration Ideas

There are so many reasons why the end of the school year is an exciting time for kindergartners.  They have learned and accomplished so much, they have made many new friends, and they are itching to move on to those numbered grades! With so much to be excited about, it’s no wonder that kindergarten end of year celebrations are a staple. In this post, I’m going to share with you three fun celebration ideas that your students will love!

End of the Year Celebration Ideas with a photo of printable graduation hats that have been colored with crayons.

Memory Book

A great way to help students remember all of the fun they had in kindergarten is to create a memory book!  This special memento will be something your students (and their parents)  will treasure for years to come.  With so many kindergarten memory book options circulating online, it can be hard to narrow it down to one that will be perfect for your students!

What to Include in a Kindergarten Memory Book

Kindergarten memory book printables

One of the challenges can be deciding what exactly to include in your students’ memory books. It can feel daunting to summarize an entire year of learning and activities!  I have created a printable memory book with ten different pages that can provide a great snapshot of the kindergarten school year and your students.

  • All About Me
  • My Field Trip
  • My Accomplishments
  • My School Memories
  • What I Learned
  • My Favorite Part
  • My Future Plans

Students will love reflecting on the school year as they fill out each page of this printable memory book!

Kindergarten Memory Book Tips

As you can see, a kindergarten memory book can include a variety of pages for students to complete!  Here are a few tips to help as you complete this fun project with your students.

Start Early

While memory books can be a fun task for older students to fill out on the last day of school, a kindergarten memory book usually requires a bit more time to complete.  Plus, with other end-of-the-year activities and celebrations, you want to make sure that the memory book pages aren’t lost in the shuffle! Set aside plenty of time for this project a few weeks before the end of the school year.

Use Small Group Time

As you consider when you’d like to work on kindergarten memory books, a great option is always small group time.  This provides the flexibility to support just a few students at a time so that they can get their ideas down on paper.  Writing sentences in a memory book is a great literacy activity!  Working in small groups also gives you the opportunity to scribe for students who need that support.

My Kindergarten Memory Book with pencil and stapler

The pages of my printable memory book include plenty of space for illustrations.  Students love to draw pictures to go along with their sentences and these hand-drawn memories are a treasure! Another fun option for memory books is to use actual photos from throughout the school year.  This might take a little bit more planning and organization, but students will love to see photos to go along with their favorite kindergarten memories!

Make It Last

The final suggestion that I have for memory books is to help them hold up for a long time.  If the book will be stapled together, consider printing the cover with heavy card stock to help protect the pages inside.  You could also secure the memory book with a coil binding.  Some teachers even choose to laminate memory book pages.  There is no single “right” way to finish a memory book, but it’s nice to do what you can to help limit wear and tear.

End of Kindergarten Photos

In addition to a memory book, it’s always fun to document the end of kindergarten with photos!  Most school picture days occur near the beginning or toward the middle of the school year, so it’s nice to take one last photo at the end of the year.  Our students love to see how much they've grown in one year. Plus, these photos can also make a great addition to a kindergarten memory book!

Kindergarten Graduation Hats with crayons

Printable Kindergarten Graduation Hats

One fun way to document the end of kindergarten with photos is to create kindergarten “graduation caps”!  In fact, I have created a set of five different graduation hat styles to help students celebrate the end of kindergarten.  These printable hats are the perfect accessory for an adorable end-of-kindergarten photo!  There is also space on these hats for you to add personalized text. You’ll want to be sure to hang on to these caps for my final end-of-the-year kindergarten celebration idea.

Kindergarten Graduation

The end of the kindergarten year is recognized in many different ways.  Some schools choose to have small celebrations within their own classrooms with no guests.  Other teachers invite parents to attend these classroom celebrations.  However, some schools choose to host a kindergarten promotion ceremony, complete with graduation gowns! No matter how you and your school choose to celebrate, there is one important thing that you’ll find at nearly every kindergarten graduation: Certificates.

Preschool diploma and kindergarten completion certification

Printable Kindergarten Diplomas & Certificates

Just as there are many ways to celebrate kindergarten promotion, there are a variety of certificates that teachers like to give their students at the end of kindergarten.  I have created a set of printable and editable certificates that can be customized for your celebration and for each student.   You can read more about specific ideas for a stress-free kindergarten graduation ceremony here on the blog.

Engaging Ideas, Activities, and Learning Fun for Kindergarten

10 Kindergarten Graduation Activities: Fun and Memorable Ideas for Teachers

May 31, 2024 by Mary Amoson Leave a Comment

10 Kindergarten Graduation Activities

Kindergarten graduation is a significant milestone that marks the completion of an important educational phase for young learners. Celebrating this event with engaging and memorable activities can make it even more special for students and their families. Here are some creative and enjoyable kindergarten graduation activities to help you plan an unforgettable event, even if you don’t host a traditional kindergarten graduation. Here are 10 Kindergarten Graduation Activities and ways to celebrate the end of the year.

10 Kindergarten Graduation Activities

Now, those who host preschool graduation or first-grade end-of-the-year planners, I hope you can snag and use some of these kindergarten graduation ideas for your special day as well. And most importantly, please don’t think this has to be a formal ceremony. Simple ideas can make a kindergarten graduation day a sweet way to end a great year.

1. **Personalized Superlative Certificates**

Presenting superlative certificates is a classic way to honor each child’s achievements. You can customize these with the child’s name, the date, and a heartfelt message or quote. Adding decorative elements like gold seals or stickers can make the certificates more special. We highly recommend choosing to honor the students for who they are instead of relying on academic awards. An example is giving out a Class Cheerleader award instead of a Math Fact Winner award. Additionally, remember to be kind and choose awards that you would like your own child to get and that conveys positive messages for the entire class.

 2. **Cap and Gown Ceremony**

Organize a cap and gown ceremony to give children a sense of accomplishment. Miniature caps and gowns can be purchased online , or you can create DIY versions with craft supplies. This attire not only makes for adorable photos but also enhances the formal feel of the ceremony. Including a tassel for each cap that students can move from one side to the other adds a traditional graduation touch.

Now, to be able to order caps may not be in the budget for your kindergarten graduation ceremony. We have other great ideas. Some teachers have ONE on hand that they use year after year to create their own cap and gown pictures. Some schools purchase just a set of hats like this to use.

Our school does not do the traditional cap and gown ceremony, but we do talk to the photography company that does fall and spring school pictures. We arrange a date for cap and gown pictures that families can purchase. Even if families do not purchase these pictures, we get a precious Kindergarten Completion certificate with their image on it for each child to keep free of charge.

3. **Memory Books**

Create memory books throughout the school year with your students. Include drawings, photos, and quotes from the children about their favorite kindergarten memories. Presenting these books on graduation day provides students with a keepsake that captures their experiences and growth. This activity also encourages children to reflect on their learning journey. It is a great way to connect with families beyond this year as they cherish this item for years to come. Plus, it is a personal touch that little kindergarteners love to look back on even has they are older students.  You can see how we make these memory books for our students here.

Kindergarten Graduation Activities with these programs for our end of the year play.

4. **Student Performances**

Incorporate a short performance by the students, such as singing a song, reciting a poem, or performing a skit. Popular songs for kindergarten graduation include “Kindergarten Here We Come” and “The Kindergarten Song.” These performances allow students to showcase their talents and provide entertainment for families. In the past, my school has done performances called E-I-E-I-Oops, How Does Your Garden Grow?, and Bugz! You can research those if you need guidance. We have more recently done performances that are in the school’s purchased music book called GLOW!. Check out your school’s materials before you buy anything.

Costume alert for Kindergarten Graduation programs.

5. **Photo Slideshows**

Compile a slideshow of photos taken throughout the school year, including images from field trips, classroom activities, and special events. A visual recap set to music can be a heartwarming way to reflect on the year and celebrate the students’ journey. This slideshow can be a highlight of the ceremony.  You can check out some Tips & Tricks here.

This year I ventured out to use Canva for a very simple slideshow. I love how clean and put-together Canva makes things look. I like that it connects to Google for my photos. Additionally, it is easy to make at home and display at school via their website. Lastly, you can download it and play it on a repeating loop for any graduation activities.

I will mention that if you load too many images, the site won’t like it and was acting up for me. I had to slime down the images to make it work. I ended up using just the whole class pictures of the entire class versus individual student images.

6. **Decorative Themes**

Choose a fun theme for the graduation ceremony, such as “Under the Sea,” “Safari Adventure,” or “Outer Space.” Decorate the venue with themed decorations and encourage students to wear costumes or accessories that match the theme. This adds excitement and visual appeal to the event. Some teachers lay down red bulletin board paper to create a red carpet theme event for every little kindergarten graduate to walk down.

Photo backdrops for Kindergarten Graduation Activities

I love to go to our local Dollar Tree and grab cheap graduation-themed items from there using our local school colors. They always have black, gold, silver, and then local high school color items on hand. And a little goes a long way for this party theme. You can also use this special occasion to set up a photo booth background for all those pictures. We use school supplies and construction paper whenever possible. We also like to use the same one year after year to save time. Whenever we can reuse a photo backdrop for a past year, I call that a big deal and it helps with the hard work we put into the details.

7. **Graduation Songs**

Playing graduation-themed songs adds to the festive atmosphere for these special moments for kindergarten students. Songs like “This Little Light of Mine” and “We’ve Only Just Begun” by The Carpenters are popular choices. Creating a custom playlist with songs meaningful to your students enhances the emotional impact of the ceremony. I am also a big fan of the song “Upside Down” by Jack Johnson. They are great additions to this big day for the little graduate. Having a playlist for the graduation ceremonies could be a big high and help with the planning process year after year.

8. **Graduation Craft Stations**

Set up craft stations where children can create graduation-themed crafts, such as decorating their graduation caps, making friendship bracelets, or crafting memory frames. These activities keep students engaged and provide additional keepsakes for them to take home. This is another one of many fun ways to wrap up the end of the school year with your little learners and their family members.

You may want to save this specific idea for the last day of school or another special time for this fun activity. You know your families and time constraints better than anyone.

9. **Awards**

Our school gives out school awards for every classroom. Since every student gets a certificate of completion for the year, we honor their awards with specialized themed stickers for awards. Since I have a tough time remembering what each sticker represents, I make a Google Doc with the image of the sticker award, and the description of the award. Each student supporter gets a copy of this to keep with their certificate of completion for the year to help with themes and memorable moments for years to come.

End of the Year Award Seals

10. **Graduation Gift**

Because my students walk away with a lot of papers and materials, I like to provide them with a small gift. I purchased one sand bucket for each learner and put all their end-of-the-year items inside it. When they leave, they get their certificate of completion, scrapbook, summer packet, awards, and everything else in the bucket to take home. Think of this as a useful party favor that becomes the perfect present that helps get all those papers home in a better way.

Kindergarten Graduation Activities are prepped and ready for a great day!

By incorporating these kindergarten graduation activities into your activities, you can create a memorable and meaningful celebration that honors your students’ achievements and prepares them for the next exciting chapter in their educational journey. Congratulations to all the graduating kindergarteners and the dedicated teachers who have guided them!

Hosting a Memorable Kindergarten Graduation Ceremony

kindergarten graduation photo

Yes, they're taking their first tiny steps into the big world of formal schooling, and that's something to cheer about! I'm here to walk you through the process of hosting a memorable kindergarten graduation ceremony, one filled with laughter, fun, and maybe a few happy tears!

Understanding the Importance of a Kindergarten Graduation Ceremony

kindergarten graduation photo

Kindergarten graduation is a special event in a child's life. It's a rite of passage, marking the moment when they officially leave behind their earliest years of education and embark on their journey through primary school.

The impact on our children’s self-esteem and motivation to learn is profound. Remember the joy you felt when your achievements were recognized? It's the same for our children - it encourages them, boosts their confidence, and makes them eager to take on the challenges of first grade with gusto! And, of course, it's also a chance for us to show them how proud we are of them.

Planning the Kindergarten Graduation Ceremony

kindergarten graduation decorations

Choosing the Venue

First things first - where should the ceremony take place? Indoors, outdoors, or perhaps even a virtual celebration for those living afar or if we need to follow health protocols? An indoor ceremony in the school gym or auditorium is a classic choice. If weather permits and you have the space, an outdoor graduation in the schoolyard under a sunny sky can be beautiful and allows for easy social distancing. A virtual ceremony, on the other hand, ensures that everyone can attend, regardless of their location. You can even have a combination of in-person and virtual attendees!

Deciding on the Date and Time

Next up is deciding the date and time for the graduation ceremony. Ideally, you'd want to pick a date towards the end of the school year when the weather is nice. Mornings are typically the best time for kindergarteners, when they're fresh and full of energy. Also, take into consideration the availability of parents. A weekday may be ideal, but make sure it's a time when most parents can attend.

Designing Invitations

You've got a place and a time. Now you need to let people know about it! Invitations are not just a way to share the logistical details of the ceremony; they're a sneak peek into the celebration. They should reflect the joy and enthusiasm of the occasion. Handmade invitations add a personal touch and can be a fun project for the kids. Check out DLTK's Crafts for Kids for adorable, printable invitation designs .

Creating a Graduation Program

Consider starting with a welcome speech from the teacher, expressing how proud they are of the students' achievements. This can be followed by children’s performances – they could recite a poem, sing a song, or perform a short skit. Maybe they could even share what they want to be when they grow up. Their innocent dreams are sure to bring a smile to everyone’s faces.

Including an award presentation can be a fantastic idea. It's not about competition but rather about acknowledging the unique talents and improvements each child has made over the year. Everyone is good at something, and every achievement is worth celebrating!

A traditional "graduation walk" can be the highlight of the ceremony. This is when the children, dressed in their tiny caps and gowns, walk across a stage or designated area to receive their kindergarten diploma. It's a wonderful photo opportunity and an unforgettable moment for both children and parents.

Balancing formality with fun is crucial. Remember, these are kindergarteners! Keeping things lighthearted, engaging, and interactive will ensure they stay interested and enjoy their special day.

There we have it! The initial steps to creating a memorable kindergarten graduation ceremony. It might seem like a lot, but remember, the process is just as rewarding as the event itself. Celebrate every moment, from the planning to the ceremony and beyond. Stay tuned for more in our next section, where we’ll dive into choosing the perfect graduation attire, decorating the venue, and organizing refreshments for our little graduates!

Choosing Graduation Attire

Graduation Decorations

And let's not forget the photo booth or a designated area for pictures. Decorate it with a cute backdrop and some props for those unforgettable graduation photos. Trust me, these pictures will be treasured for years to come!

Organizing Refreshments

After all that excitement and celebration, everyone will need a bit of refueling. When considering refreshments, remember to keep them kid-friendly. Mini sandwiches, fruit kebabs, or even cookies shaped like graduation caps (cookie cutters) can be great choices. I like to use skewers that have had their pointy end snipped off when making fruit kebabs.

And the centerpiece of any good party? The cake, of course! Whether it's a full-fledged cake or an array of cupcakes, consider incorporating a graduation theme. The cake could be topped with icing messages like "Congrats Grads".

Planning Post-Graduation Activities

The ceremony may be over, but the fun doesn't have to end there. Plan some post-graduation activities to let the children enjoy their accomplishment. Interactive games or a dance session can be a hit among the little ones. You can also consider a craft session, where they can make a special craft to commemorate their graduation day.

Graduation Gifts and Keepsakes

decoupage picture frame

How about creating DIY keepsakes? A craft that involves the child's fingerprint or handprint can be a wonderful memento. Check out the handprints and fingerprints crafts section on DLTK's Crafts for Kids for some inspiring ideas.

kindergarten graduation

Each child's journey is unique, and every step they take towards growing up is a milestone worth celebrating. Kindergarten graduation is one such special milestone. So let's make it as memorable and joyous as we can.

Whether you're a parent or a teacher, you have the power to make this day unforgettable for your little graduates. Here's to celebrating our young learners and to the many educational adventures that await them in the future. Let the graduation caps fly high, and may the smiles and laughter be plentiful on this special day.

Preschool Graduation Songs Perfect for End of the Year Slideshows

Shared by Mary Catherine 51 Comments

These preschool graduation songs are just what you’re looking for when making end of the year slideshows. Be sure to save them to play while working on some preschool graduation activities.

Making a few special items for our preschool students at the end of the year is pretty much a tradition. There’s also one big thing we do for the parents, and that’s a slideshow with sweet end of the year songs to go along with pictures of the kiddos from the preschool year.

We also like to put together an individualized DVD slideshow for each child, or a collection of the photo files collected over the year. A  preschool portfolio for each of the kiddos is a well-loved treat for the children and parents, alike.  They really show how much they’ve grown over the year.

End of the Year Songs {A Preschool Playlist}

At our end of the year “graduation”, we like to include a slideshow of all the pre-k kids throughout the year.  Here’s where the end of the year songs come in.

For all of these slideshows, I always search for songs that are “just right”, sometimes stressing over which songs to include.

Table of Contents

Preschool Graduation Songs for End of the Year Slideshows

Below is a list of songs that I’ve come across that are a great fit for your own preschool graduation songs.  I think these songs are perfect for pre-k and kindergarten graduations, but they’re also suitable for other grades!

I don’t generally use all of these songs on one slideshow.  Rather, they’re a list of possibilities to pick and choose from.

I tried to include direct links to each song if possible.  Otherwise, the link is to the entire album.

What a Wonderful World   by   Louis Armstrong

Count on Me  by Bruno Mars

93 Million Miles  by Jason Mraz

Sunshine Medley  by Greg & Steve

To Remember  by Josh Kelley

Sing Together  by Train

You’re My Best Friend by Queen

Safe and Sound  by Matthew West

You’ve Got a Friend in Me  by Randy Newman

Lean on Me  by Bill Withers

We’re Going to Be Friends by  Jack Johnson or by  The White Stripes

This Little Light of Mine  by Addison Road

Over the Rainbow  by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole

Life is a Highway by  Tom Cochrane or by  Rascal Flatts

We Are Family  by Sister Sledge

Let Them Be Little by  Billy Dean or by  Lonestar

You and Me  by Dave Matthews Band

Little Wonders  by Rob Thomas

Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah by  James Baskett or by  Louis Armstrong

Celebration  by Kool and The Gang

These are just some of my favorite preschool graduation songs for end of the year slideshows.  I’m sure there are a ton more out there!

Do you have a favorite song for end of the year programs or graduation ceremonies?  If so, I would LOVE to hear about them in the comments section below.  I’m always on the lookout for more ideas.  🙂

Check out 25 more end of the year slideshow songs (based on awesome suggestions from you)!

If you’re looking for songs the kids can sing during an end of the year celebration, be sure to check out these ideas .

End-of-Year Classroom Gifts

At the close of each year, I like to thank my students for giving me the pleasure of spending time with them, teaching them, and having a ton of fun while doing it. It’s important to note that , myself, learn new things with every set of students that comes through my classroom. So, as a thank you to my students, I like to send them off with a small token of my appreciation – a gift. Often times, I will personalize whatever item I choose with a little phrase or saying related to the item.

Only you know the dynamics of your classroom and students. So, you will know the perfect gift for your students. But here are some of my personal favorites (I may get commissions for purchases made through links in this post):

  • Temporary tattoos
  • Color-your-own cups
  • Crazy straws
  • Personalized, beaded keychains or bracelets
  • Kids’ sunglasses
  • Buckets filled with small trinkets
  • Small jars of slime (made in class, or course!)

Remember. An end-of-school year gift is not a necessity. In the past, I have held an additional celebration, outside of their graduation ceremonies, to celebrate my students and all of their accomplishments. I planned an activity that I know they all loved (a water play day!) to show them my appreciation and pride in them.

Finishing another year of preschool, for both student and teacher, is really an accomplishment and should be celebrated as such. So, it really doesn’t matter what you do as long as you celebrate the time you’ve had with your students!

Thank you for this list. I will be sure to refer to it next year. Last week I was stuck for choices but at the last minute, I chose the following four songs that worked really well:

1. Greatest Love by Whitney Houston 2.. I Can Fly by R. Kelley 3. True Colours by Phil Collins 4. I Hope You Dance by Leanne Womack

' src=

June 25, 2013 at 11:17 am

Thanks, Erika! I appreciate your song suggestions — I’m always looking to add to my list!! Those are definitely good choices for the end of the year, as well.

' src=

March 7, 2016 at 5:21 am

I used the song In The Eyes of a Child by Air Supply for a pre school graduation slide show.

March 9, 2016 at 9:12 pm

Ooooh, that’s a sweet one too! Thanks for the suggestion!

' src=

June 24, 2013 at 9:48 pm

I like “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield, “I Hope You Dance” by Lee Ann Womack, and “These Are the Days” by Keith Urban

June 25, 2013 at 11:18 am

Oh, Lori, thanks for your song ideas too! I’m not sure how I forgot “Unwritten”, and the 2 others would be great too. 🙂

' src=

June 25, 2013 at 12:30 am

I always use the song, “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts for the part of the slideshow that shows how much they’ve grown since the beginning of the year. The words to that song are just perfect!!

June 25, 2013 at 11:19 am

Oh, that song is just beautiful too! Thanks for the idea, Katie! 🙂

' src=

June 25, 2013 at 9:39 am

Great list, you’ve got all my favs on there 🙂 Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, Vanessa! 🙂

July 30, 2013 at 9:48 pm

I am so happy I found this site – I always spend HOURS finding the perfect end of the year songs to play. I have used a number of these songs in our end of the year slideshow. I love, love, love the Billy Joel “Let Them Be Little”, especially since my students grow so much (2-3 years old!). Of course my mind is blanking right now on the other songs I have used (that are not on the list) but I know we have used t Best of Friends from Disney Fox and the Hound a song from the Curious George sound track also about friends “On My Way” From Disney’s Brother Bear

August 5, 2013 at 9:24 pm

Yay, I’m so glad this was helpful!! And thank you for the additional song ideas. I love that we can all share ideas like this — it’s just going to make those of the year celebrations that much better. 🙂

March 25, 2014 at 9:40 pm

You might want to add “ordinary Miricle” by Sarah McLachlan. I cry every time.

May 17, 2014 at 10:09 pm

Oh I need to listen to that one again, but I’m sure I’ll get teary too!!

' src=

April 11, 2014 at 5:33 am

The house at pooh corner by kenny loggins will make you cry it’s so tender and appropriate. I may make a play list of this just to listen to while planning and working on end of the year report cards!

May 14, 2014 at 11:37 pm

Oh, Stacie, I’m going to have to run off and listen to that soon. Thanks so much for adding to this list! I’m creating an end of the year slideshow this weekend and would love to try out some new songs.

' src=

April 11, 2014 at 9:56 pm

I always start with the Tarzan song “You’ll Be in my Heart” – another Phil Colins. The beginning words are perfect!

“Come stop your crying It will be alright Just take my hand Hold it tight”

May 14, 2014 at 11:39 pm

Another great suggestion, Tracie! Those words are a great way to start off the end of the year playlist. Thanks so much!

' src=

May 7, 2014 at 10:43 pm

I use a few of the songs mentioned but I also use Hannah Montana The Climb. I love it in my DVD. Thanks for the other suggestions!

May 14, 2014 at 11:53 pm

I hadn’t thought of that one, but I can see how it would be great. Thanks so much for your suggestion! 🙂

' src=

May 9, 2014 at 2:20 pm

One I am loving/using this year is “I Lived” by One Republic!

May 14, 2014 at 11:54 pm

Thanks for the idea, Jenna! I’m going to have to think about adding that to my playlist this year. 🙂

' src=

May 14, 2014 at 2:15 pm

Thank you for putting this helpful list together. Love reading all the other suggestions as well. Great blog 🙂

Thanks so much! I loved reading all of the suggestions, too! 🙂

One of my favorite good-bye songs. Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life) by Green Day.

May 18, 2014 at 7:29 pm

Thanks, Angel! I think that’s a great one to add to the list. 🙂

' src=

May 18, 2014 at 8:50 pm

Great List – I can’t wait to add some of these, I have That’s What Friends Are For from the Jungle Book, Happy by Pharrell and Butterfly Fly Away from the Hannah Montana Soundtrack. Thanks all for sharing! Michelle

May 26, 2014 at 8:55 am

Thanks Valerie! I had so many wonderful suggestions from my readers that I compiled a list of 25 more end of the year songs. I made sure to include Green Day’s “Time of Your Life”! 🙂

May 3, 2015 at 10:51 pm

We started using “So Long, Farewell” from the Sound of Music. We choreograph it in a way that our PreKs leave their seats, walk forward and wave, then go up on stage for a final goodbye, by the time the music ends. This is a great list!

' src=

May 5, 2015 at 8:42 pm

my year end slideshow always begins with “Getting to Know You” by James Taylor from the King and I and ends with “You’ve Gotta Friend In Me”! The music in the middle changes from year to year. Thanks for the great ideas!

Did you mention what program you use? I had a favorite on my old desktop, when it crashed the program went with it. It was so old…… The format for the new program didn’t even seem the same!

' src=

June 21, 2015 at 8:46 pm

This year my preschoolers did the song “You’ve got a friend in Me”” in sign language. I taught myself from the internet then the kids. Everyone loved it!!

June 25, 2015 at 2:07 pm

How fun is that?!

' src=

May 3, 2016 at 8:57 pm

Thank you for this list! I love all of your choices! I wish I knew how to make a DVD slideshow. I have a macbook pro and I take lots of pics of my students. I just haven’t learned how to make a slideshow yet. Check out the song “Little Hands” by Jonathan Edwards. It would also be perfect for a preschool slideshow.

July 23, 2016 at 5:48 pm

Thanks so much for the song suggestion! There are so many video slideshow programs out there – which are available for Macs?

FOREVER YOUNG by The Tenors, not similar to Rod Stewart’s song, is so perfect. If you hadn’t heard this, listen to it before you use your old favorites!

Such a great addition, thank you! 🙂

I used “On My Way” by Phil Collins and “What I Am” by Will.I.Am to keep it upbeat. I thought about using “Never Grow Up” by Taylor Swift but I knew I’d cry. 🙂

Those are awesome song suggestions!! And I cry every single time!
