DTU’s main campus consists of more than 100 buildings on a 106-hectare plain, which is divided into four quadrants—just like points in a coordinate system. The campus is safe and secure, and a site of great natural beauty with wooded areas, sports fields, inner courtyards, and gardens.   The campus is located within the Greater Copenhagen Area and is easily accessed by car or public transport. You can get from DTU to Copenhagen Center in about 40 minutes by bus or trian, 45 minutes by bike and 20 minutes by car. Most of the DTU main campus was build in the 1960s and 1970s, but new and modern facilities have been build continuously. DTU is currently investing more than 500,000,000 EUR in a comprehensive transformation of the university buildings and infrastructure, which is aimed at providing world-class research and student facilities.
