Refund Information - Continuous Professional Learning
Generally $25 of the fee is non-refundable unless Humber cancels the course. However, some courses have unique refund policies (such as those offered by the Transportation Training Centre) . Please be sure you understand the refund policy before you register.
If Humber cancels the course, a full refund will be granted. If you decide to Drop, Transfer or Withdraw from your course, you must do this by logging into the CPL Learner Portal before the date listed under Important Dates on this webpage. Drop/Transfer/Withdraw deadlines are also posted in the Learner Portal and are noted in your Registration Receipt email. Note: Leaving an email or phone message to request a Drop, Transfer or Withdrawal is not acceptable and will not be processed. There are exceptions to this policy for some courses/programs (such as those offered by the Transportation Training Centre where Drop/Transfer/Withdrawal is permitted up to 21 days prior to the course start date only by written email request submitted to [email protected] ).
For Refunds, where payment was made by Visa or MasterCard, a credit will be applied to the credit card that was used.

Human Resources Management Certificate

The Human Resources Management certificate program is designed to assist those in human resources administration to expand or update their skills or to meet the needs of those seeking an opportunity to enter this field. The curriculum is designed to provide the educational foundation for a career in human resources management.
Professional Accreditation
Humber offers a fully accredited Human Resources Certificate program, recognized by the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA) as their coursework requirement. This program includes the nine courses required by HRPA as part of their coursework requirement to write the Comprehensive Knowledge Exam 1 (CKE1) towards CHRP designation.
HRPA requires that a Job Ready Program and an Employment Law exam must also be successfully completed. Detailed information can be found at hrpa.ca/hr-designations/about-hr-designations#DesignationRequirements .

Having a diverse academic background, Dr. Sam Bodunrin holds a PhD as well as several notable certifications, including GPHR, SHRM-SCP, CHRL, CHRP, CPHR, PMP, and PMI-ACP. These credentials attest to their deep knowledge and expertise in their respective fields.
Dr. Bodunrin's commitment to education is evident through experiences at various esteemed institutions. He currently serves as a Professor of Human Resources Management & Organizational Behavior at Algoma University, where they actively contribute to curriculum development, course instruction, student engagement, and research guidance. Dr. Bodunrin's dedication to academic excellence extends to their roles as an Adjunct Professor of Human Resources Management & Organizational Behavior at Humber College and as an Adjunct Professor of Project Management and Agile Methodologies at Yorkville University. David Collens
David is a senior business leader with 20 years of experience in the public sector (for-profit and not-for-profit) within the gaming industry, social services and academia. His specialized expertise includes a multi-disciplinary background in ethics, governance, risk management, internal control, assurance and regulatory compliance, among others, and a focus on instructional design and facilitation in the workplace and classroom. He is recognized as a thought leader and strategic advisor with a ‘builder mentality’ to deliver large, complex and transformational enterprise projects. Most noteworthy, advisory services to support the implementation of a new line of business, technology systems, regulatory compliance frameworks, responsible use of artificial intelligence and environmental, social and governance (GRC) strategies.
David is passionate about sharing his expertise to support the growth of team members, colleagues, other professionals and organizations. This is evident during his 10 years of teaching experience at Ontario post-secondary institutions, mentorship engagement and community volunteerism on the Board of Directors, Committees and past Chairman of the Compliance Community of Practice for the Ontario Public Sector.
Sanjeev Dhuga
Sanjeev Dhuga is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Toronto. Sanjeev is currently the Head of Finance at Demant Canada.
Sanjeev’s work experience is diverse and includes business strategy/risk consulting, financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, process engineering and internal audit. Previous organizations he's worked for include Kruger Products, Ferring Pharmaceuticals, Sanofi, Nestle Canada, Molson Coors Canada and Deloitte & Touche LLP. Sanjeev has also served as a Lecturer at the post-secondary level for over 10 years.
Monica Lapkoff
Meet Dr. Monica Lapkoff who brings to the table a wide variety of Human Resources experience and has overseen both Human Resources and Marketing/Communications Departments in the Global Corporate world for more than two decades. Dr. Lapkoff has travelled extensively to these Global Head Offices in Canada, U.S and Europe to meet with the Global professionals.
She has also been teaching Human Resources courses for more than 15 years at the University level, and she has been teaching HR courses at Humber College for more than seven years. Dr. Lapkoff holds a B.Ed, MBA, and Ph.D and is considered an expert in Online teaching.
Lorraine Simpson-Spence
Lorraine Simpson-Spence, MEd, BHRLR, CHRL, CHRP, has been a key contributor in adult education, distance education and human resources management for the past 14 years. She holds a Master of Education in Open, Digital & Distance Education and a Bachelor of Human Resources and Labour Relations from Athabasca University. She is also a Certified Human Resources Professional and Certified Human Resources Leader. She has held both leadership and single contributor roles in corporate human resources management.
Lorraine teaches online and face-to-face at the post-secondary education level and has worked extensively on the instructional design, development and delivery of various human resources online courses. She is passionate about supporting adult learners from diverse backgrounds in achieving their academic and professional goals and believes it is a privilege and an honour to be a part of their learning experiences.
Her current academic interests include student success, lifelong learning, instructional design, online learning, constructivism, community of inquiry, qualitative research etc.
