Lisa Bevere (maiden name Lisa Toscano) is a pastor & the co-founder of the ministry Messenger International . She is also the bestselling author of the New York Times bestseller book ‘Without Rival’ .

Personal Life, Parents and Family Details :

• Lisa Bevere was born on June 6, 1960.
• She has one brother, Joseph Toscano.
• At five years old, Lisa was diagnosed with retinoblastoma, a rare form of cancer that affects eye tissue. Due to this, she had to have her eye removed and has used a glass eye ever since. Lisa had to continue getting checked every six months until she was eighteen to ensure the cancer hadn’t returned.
• When Lisa was twelve, her parents divorced, only to remarry two years late and then divorce again years later.
• At the age of twenty-one, while studying at the University of Arizona and getting into sororities, Lisa was at a very low point in her life due to a prevalent eating disorder and a toxic personal relationship.

Marriage and Children :

• Lisa spent the summer at home in Indiana, and upon returning to Arizona was soon invited to a Bible study picnic by the man who would become her husband, John Bevere.
• On this first date, Lisa heard the Word of God and was immensely drawn to it.
• She then read the Bible and became even more passionate about spreading the word herself.
• When she was twenty-two, Lisa married John. The couple went on to have four sons: Arden Christopher Bevere, Joshua Alexander Bevere , Addison David Bevere, and Austin Michael Bevere.
• Currently, she lives in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Church Work and Sermons :

• Lisa entered the ministry at the young age of 21 with her future husband, John Bevere.
• The couple initially started ministering in Dallas, Texas, but then relocated to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where they remain to date.
• Lisa is the founder of the ‘Messenger International’ organization, together with her husband, John. The organization is aimed at the development of devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
• She spends a lot of her time preaching around the world and giving interviews for radio, TV, and print media outlets.

Early life and education [ edit ]

Lisa grew up in Lafayette, Indiana . She attended college at Arizona State University as well as Purdue University before meeting her husband John Bevere in June of 1981. The two married on October 2, 1982. They quickly encountered marriage problems, which they wrote about in the book they co-authored, The Story of Marriage . [3]

Ministry and career [ edit ]

Lisa Bevere began preaching in 1988 when she and her husband John worked as youth pastors at a church. She wrote her first book Out of Control and Loving It in 1991 [4] . Her book Without Rival , released in 2016, went on to become a New York Times best-seller [5] . In 2017, she released her first children’s book, Lizzy the Lioness . [6]

John, Lisa Bevere’s 4 Sons Begin Ministry For Next Generation

John and Lisa Bevere have built a legacy as evangelists for decades– now it’s their sons’ turn.

Austin Bevere, Addison Bevere, Alec Bevere and Arden Bevere are the four boys born to bestselling authors John and Lisa. They are launching their own movement called Sons & Daughters.

“Sons & Daughters is a movement created to connect this generation to the adventure, freedom, and purpose found in our creator,” a description of the movement states on its website . “Our hope is to make you laugh, cry, ask some hard questions, and ultimately awaken you to the wonder God’s placed within you. We’re here to connect you with some of our favorite people, resources, practical tools, and causes to see you step into the marvelous wonders of what God has created for your life.”

Bevere matriarch Lisa encouraged people to support her sons’ new ministry move during its launch last week.

“ A bold, unapologetic CALL to sons and daughters of all ages to RISE to the stature of ALL God created them to be. In my Grandmother spirit I see so MUCH MORE in & for this NEXT GENERATION than what I see LIVED OUT,” she captioned an Instagram video about the ministry. “It’s time we make a COVENANT that CONNECTS us to this God Life and to ONE ANOTHER. It’s time to AWAKEN the DAWN.”

In an interview with Joy! Magazine over 10 years ago, John and Lisa spoke about how they cultivate their boys’ individual gifts.

John called all of the Bevere boys incredible men of God.

“That’s one of my favourite qualities about them, their passion for Christ. Addison has a tender heart that is sensitive to God and His direction,” he revealed. “He’s an amazing communicator who is very respectful to others. Austin is very consistent and organized about his life. He internalized his relationship with God, and it comes out in the way he lives his life.”

He went on to describe Alec and Arden.

“Alec is a people person. He’s passionate and hilarious,” he said. “Arden is so considerate of other people and very tender. As I said, I love that all of my boys love Christ with all of their heart.”
