Research Assistant Professor
Dr. Jie Zhong is a Research Assistant Professor at School of Nursing, The University of Hong Kong. She graduated with a BSc in Nursing in 2016 from Central South University, a MSc in Nursing in 2019 from Fudan University, and a PhD in Nursing Research and Theory Development in 2023 from Rory Meyers College of Nursing, New York University. She also received one-year training as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Northeastern University in Boston.
Under the guidance of Life Course Health Development Framework, Dr. Zhong’s research aims to optimize health development continuously over the life span from pregnancy, the postpartum period, middle life, to older age. Eventually, she is interested in developing digital health interventions to promote healthy behavior change across couples at home and support the decision-making process between patients, families, and health care providers at primary care settings. Her past research experiences included evidence-based practice for gestational diabetes management, the impact of family resilience on postpartum depressive symptoms, the development of a mHealth tool to bridge communication for people living with dementia, and the development of a couple-focused mHealth tool to support treatment adherence for couples living with sleep apnea.

Research assistant.
Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, we are seeking a Research Assistant who will participate in qualitative data analysis of semi-structured interview transcripts. The Research Assistant will also help prepare reports of qualitative data for scientific presentations and publications.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct primary qualitative analysis of semi-structured interview transcripts.
- Use qualitative data analysis software.
- Prepare summaries of qualitative data for presentation and publication.
- Work collaboratively with other analysts/staff.
- Regular meetings with the Principal Investigator to review the study progress.
- Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
- Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
- A master’s Degree in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, health economics, policy, or a closely related field and at least one year of experience with data analysis.

Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Education and Experience Equivalency Please refer to the job description above to see which forms of equivalency are permitted for this position. If permitted, equivalencies will follow these guidelines: JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.
