Have you taken the GMAT before?
Typically GMAT is required for many post-graduate business programs such as MBA, Masters in Management, Masters in Business Analytics, Masters in Finance, and related courses.
However, you can still pursue masters in Canada without GMAT and to save you a day worth of research here is a section where we discuss some of the top business programs in Canada that don’t require you to take the GMAT. Shall we?
Master in Management (MIM) is a master’s program that provides advanced general management knowledge to business and non-business graduates. Although still costlier than a regular master’s degree, MIM is a cheaper alternative to an MBA degree.
GMAT scores are generally required for MIM programs but in this section we will cover the list of top colleges offering MIM in Canada without GMAT:

Master of Global Business (MGB) |
MIM is especially popular among recent graduates with a non-business degree and considering that the average salary of a MIM graduate goes as high as $97,000 (Schulich School of Business) you get why students don’t mind taking up extra classes on finance or business only to meet the eligibility of the program.
But since it looks like MBA is not losing its charm anytime soon and is by far the most sought-after master’s program through GMAT let us explore your options for MBA in Canada without GMAT. Here we go!
MBA in Canada generally does require a GMAT score however there are a few universities in Canada that don’t require GMAT. MBA colleges in Canada without GMAT assess applicants’ academic history, work experience, goals, and motivation to pursue an MBA program in the university.
Requirements of the MBA program differ from university to university but overall a minimum GPA of 3.3 in the bachelor’s degree is required. Along with 2-3 years of work experience , 2 LORs from professional and academic references and applicant’s CV is the standard requirement for MBA colleges in Canada without GMAT.
For some Canadian universities GMAT is not a compulsory admission requirement but they can stress on other aspects of your profile for example 5-10 years of experience etc. These MBA programs include Executive MBA at McGill University , Accelerated and Executive MBA at Ivey Business School , Executive MBA at HEC Montreal , Kellogg Executive MBA to name a few.

Students enrolled in the Sobey PhD program are subject to all the rules and regulations outlined in the Saint Mary's University Graduate Academic Calendar .
To be considered for admission into the Sobey PhD program, applicants must meet a number of requirements and complete a rigorous application process.
Acceptance into the Sobey PhD Program is highly competitive. Each year we only accept between four and six of the applications received, with an acceptance rate of roughly one in five. In order to be considered for admission, applicants are asked to pay careful attention to all the requirements for a successful application.
Decisions regarding admission to the doctoral program will be made based on the applicant's academic qualifications and achievements, fit with the program's areas of specialization and the availability of an appropriate supervisor. To that end, all of the following will be considered:
Qualifications: Students entering the doctoral program must have a Master's degree from a recognized university. Normal minimum requirements for admission are a grade/quality point average of 3.6 on a 4.0 scale (B+ to A-) and GMAT (or GRE) above 600. Business Studies: At least a minimal breadth in business studies is expected. Ideally, applicants should have an undergraduate and/or Masters degree, which includes at substantial business studies element (e.g., a Bachelor of Commerce, Masters in Business Administration). Students without previous degrees in management education may be admitted as "qualifying" students but could be required to undertake selected management courses in addition to the normal requirements of the PhD program. GMAT/GRE: Candidates are required to provide scores from the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or Graduate Record Examination (GRE). The minimum requirement is the equivalent of a GMAT score above 600. Personal Statement: At the time of application, prospective students should submit a personal statement (Maximum 4 pages), including: Potential research interests Potential supervisors Relevant research, volunteer, and work experience Career objectives and long-range goals Academic honours, awards, and/or scholarships. A list of publications, conference papers, and/or technical reports University committee work Any other information that is relevant to your application. Supervisor: In admitting students to the program, the PhD Program Council will consider the availability of potential dissertation supervisors. Once accepted into the program, students in consultation with the PhD Program Coordinator will be designated an advisor who will assist in the development of the student’s dissertation topic. The assignment of an advisor will occur no later than the successful completion of the student’s comprehensive examination. The advisor will be appointed on the basis of his or her expertise in relation to the student’s dissertation. Where a student in the program has identified an appropriate supervisor, every effort will be made to ensure that he or she is appointed as the advisor/supervisor. Note: The PhD Supervisor should normally be a tenured faculty member at Saint Mary's University or other post-secondary institution in Atlantic Canada. In the latter case such faculty must be recommended by the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research as Adjunct Professors at Saint Mary's University. Letters of Recommendation: All applicants are required to submit three letters of recommendation from persons capable of assessing the candidate's academic ability and research potential. Career Objectives: a statement of career objectives is required. University Transcripts: Official transcripts from all universities attended (sent directly by the granting institution) are required at the time of application. English: The PhD program requires a high level of analytical skills and reading ability. To that end, strong English language proficiency is important for success in the program. Applicants who were not educated in English are required to submit official scores on the CanTest, Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), or recognized equivalent test of written and oral English language proficiency. Normal minimum requirements are TOEFL internet-based (iBT): A minimum score of 100 overall with at least 22 in Writing; 21 in Reading, 27 in Speaking, 20 in Listening. The minimum score on the paper-based TOEFL is 600. Scores must be less than two years old.
These are the normal minimum requirements, but each case will be evaluated on its own merits. However, applicants will not be evaluated for admittance where any of the required elements have not been submitted at the time when the application is being considered.
The deadline for applications is February 15 for a September start.

The Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation doctoral scholarships award $40,000 (~US$29,770) per year for three years to Canadian citizens and foreign students -with applications particularly welcomed from students from developing countries.
The University of British Columbia Four Year Doctoral Fellowship meanwhile, provides a stipend of at least CA$18,200 (~US$13,545) per year plus full tuition for outstanding international/home doctoral students for all four years of their studies.
Some Ph.D. programs in Canada last 2-3 years, while others last up to ten years, it is heavily dependent on the type of university you will attend and the field you will pursue.
The doctorate in Canada is typically the last ‘terminal degree,’ or the greatest level of academic certification that a student can achieve after earning a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree.
Along with the traditional academic Ph.D., a variety of doctoral degrees are offered, including professional doctorates such as the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) and Doctor of Education (EdD).
Your Ph.D. will be completed under the supervision of at least one academic supervisor. They’ll be an expert in your overall subject and field. Other members of your graduate school may assist you with supervision and training, especially if your degree requires additional classes and coursework. The completion of a Ph.D. thesis will be the primary criterion of your degree. If you are pursuing a professional doctorate degree, such as a DBA or an EdD, you will have to concentrate on practical work and case studies along with your academic research. A thesis will still be required, although it may be shorter and complemented by other resources.
The originality and quality of your doctoral thesis are the major factors for evaluating a Canadian Ph.D.
After you submit your thesis, it will be read and considered by a committee of examiners (which will include at least one external expert). After that, you’ll have a verbal presentation of your thesis.
This process may be slightly more involved than viva voce, which is commonly done in the United Kingdom and elsewhere. Instead of discussing your work in a room,’ you may be expected to give a presentation about your research before being questioned about its content and significance.
The examiners will next meet separately to determine whether or not you performed well on the examination and if you have performed well then you will be awarded your PhD.
A Master’s degree in a relevant field is usually the minimal PhD requirement in Canada. PhD admission in Canada can be quite tough. Students frequently take classes and modules together, and graduate institutions only accept a specific number of students each year. This means that your previous academic achievements will be examined carefully.
Instead of just providing your final degree result, you will be asked to offer a Grade Point Average (GPA) score. The GPA system is widely used in the United States and Canada (as well as a few other nations), although it is less widespread in the United Kingdom and Europe. It gives you a more comprehensive picture of your total performance over the course of your studies.
A GPA of 3.0 or better is usually required for admission to a Canadian PhD program.
As part of your application, you may be asked to submit a score from the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) or the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT). This allows universities to evaluate applicants’ readiness for higher graduate work and, in some cases, choose between candidates with similar academic histories.
Specific criteria (and expected scores) differ per university and graduate school, so double-check ahead of time.

In addition to the traditional Ph.D. process, several Canadian universities collaborate with other international schools to offer a ‘cotutelle’ (French for ‘co-tutored’) route to a Ph.D. These programs require students to spend time at two distinct universities, each of which supervises, examines, and awards the Ph.D. project. A cotutelle agreement, unlike some other joint PhDs, is usually tailored to the student’s thesis rather than a long-term cooperation between two (or more) universities.
This option may or may not be available at each Canadian university. It is recommended to contact the University for More Information.

Your Ph.D. will next proceed to an oral defence, during which you will be cross-examined on your research topic and may be asked to create a presentation to explain your findings to them. Your entire performance, as well as your thesis, will contribute to your Ph.D. completion.
The Cotutelle Program is a collaborative or co-tutored route to a Ph.D. in Canada. Students in these courses often spend time working at two institutions, each of which evaluates, supervises, and awards the Ph.D. project.
This may appear to be comparable to joint Ph.D. degrees, however instead of institution collaborations, this arrangement is generally particular to a student’s research (as is the case with Joint Ph.D.). The Cotutelle Program’s availability is determined by each Canadian institution, and applicants must discuss their university in detail before applying for a Ph.D. programme in Canada.
In Canada, the education system is quite similar to that in the USA and has some aspects of the British Education System as well.
After learning about the Canadian educational system, you may be considering applying to a Canadian university to begin your study abroad experience. The following procedures will aid you in this regard:
Decide on a programme
You can choose between structured and open Ph.D. programmes in Canada. The university determines the study plans for Structured Ph.D. students. You must develop and outline your own research project for an Open Ph.D.
For one of the two courses, you must select a supervisor who will guide you through the research process. After you have a supervisor, some universities may want a letter of support from them in addition to your application.
Submit a study outline.
You’ll need to submit a research proposal detailing the breadth of your subject and its relevance in today’s world if you wish to pursue an open Ph.D. in Canada. The proposal must be developed in compliance with the research criteria of the university.
Prepare the necessary paperwork
A statement of intent, a recommendation letter, and, if applicable, a portfolio of previous work are among the basic documents that are normally required by all universities. Universities will also request all legitimate academic transcripts from your secondary school, or from your prior institution if you’re seeking a master’s degree or higher, if you’re commencing a bachelor’s degree. You may be needed to pass an English proficiency exam such as the IELTS or TOEFL
Specific Admission Requirements should be checked.
Depending on the university, specific documentation may be requested. Always check the university website for comprehensive admission standards, and if you have any questions, contact the relevant university office. In Canada, applications and admissions are handled by the university to which you are applying. Students are encouraged to apply to a variety of programmes and universities at the same time.
Send in your application
In Canada, the majority of university applications are submitted using an online method. Application forms may be found on the websites of specific universities and are usually accompanied by an application fee. Attach the needed papers or prepare to ship them to the institution when you’ve done filling out the application form.
Wait for your letter of acceptance.
After completing your application and the required documentation, admissions decisions will be announced within 3-6 weeks. After obtaining your offer letter from the university of your choice, you will be required to pay the first semester’s tuition costs in order to guarantee your spot.
Request a Student Visa
Initiate the student visa application process as soon as you have been accepted into a Canadian university, if necessary. Do not wait because the process might take up to 60 days and will require the submission of various important documents. If students from countries other than Canada do not have the requisite visa, they will be denied admission and will be unable to stay in Canada.

The eligibility criteria for MHCET (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test) can be based on domicile rather than place of birth. MHCET often considers domicile, not necessarily the place of birth, for exam eligibility. Since your son has completed his entire school education in Maharashtra, this might strengthen his case for domicile in the state. Overall, while being born in Canada might not be a direct disqualifier, having completed his schooling in Maharashtra strengthens his case for domicile in the state. By gathering documents to prove his residence and referring to the official MHCET website or helpline, your son can get a clearer picture of his eligibility for the exam. https://www.careers360.com/exams/mht-cet I hope it helps!
