AIOU Assignment Passing Marks

Every student must complete their assignment but also try to get passing marks or more than passing marks in their assignments. AIOU assignment passing marks are 40% . If any student gets less than 40% then he/she will not become eligible to be cleared in their examinations.

If you are a student of Arabic then: 

Total AIOU Assignment Marks: 337 out of 400 Exam Marks: 60 out of 100

So you got 67 Conflated Marks, here it is:

University adds 30% marks from assignments and 70% Marks from Exam marks.

Assignment Marks Calculation Formula : 

1- Assignment marks multiply by 30 and then divided by Total assignment Marks

337 x 30 = 10110 now divide by 400 = 25.275 Assignment marks 30%

2- Exam marks multiply by 70 and then divided by Total Exam Marks

60 x 70 = 4200 divide by 100 = 42 Exam Marks 70%

3- now add them 25.275 + 42 = 67.275 Conflated Marks

AIOU Assignment Marks Now Available on LMS

The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has launched a new feature that will allow students to view their assignment marks directly on the LMS portal of AIOU.

B.A Assignments Marks Punching on LMS

AIOU has started giving students their assignments marks by 2022. The students will now be able to track their assignment marks through an interface in AIOU LMS 2022.

Enter your username and password

Once you log in to your Allama Iqbal Open University account, you can get your marks.

The marks will be categorized into one of three options – pending, graded, or assigned.

In all cases, you should see a list of assignments for that class and each will show your performance with respect to it.

An email was sent out about how to check AIOU assignment marks by using the LMS portal login AIOU methodically in every user account.

What if you have an issue with your LMS

Log on to your account and click on My Assignments in the top-right corner of your LMS page. In there, you will find an option to enter assignment marks. Enter your assignment’s code and select its department.

Follow with entering its name and submitting it.

Your marks will be updated as soon as possible. Keep in mind that an assignment must have been submitted before you can enter its marks on the LMS portal.

Students will now be able to view their respective assignments’ marks in the LMS portal.

Students can check how many marks they have obtained out of 100 in each assignment.

This feature has been rolled out for a few courses and will be available for all courses by mid-April 2018.

Introduction

For the pragmatic understanding of the socio-political and economic institutions of any country, it is inevitable to study the geography, history, politics, economics and culture of that particular country in an integrated manner. The purpose of offering BS (4 years) Pakistan Studies is to promote investigative approach, in social sciences paradigms, to study Pakistani society and culture, political and economic Institutions, history and geography in an integrated and interdisciplinary ways.

The main objective of BS (4 years). Pakistan Studies programme is to produce social scientists who can embark on the task of carrying out scientific research in the fields of Pakistan’s history, politics, economics, society and culture. We hope, this approach will be helpful to understand the complexities and problems associated with the socio-political and economic development of the country.

Scope of Studies

BS (4 years) Pakistan Studies programme would fulfill students’  innermost satisfaction and their thirst for knowledge as well as the requirements of their  jobs. After completing BS in Pakistan Studies the learners will find the jobs in public as well as in various private sectors. Pakistan Studies is a compulsory subject at college level and after completing BS the candidate may serve as lecturer all over the country.

Scheme of Studies

BS (4 years) Pakistan Studies programme comprises of 142 Credit Hours (CH) of course work. The admission in BS (4 years) would be advertised once a year (Autumn Semester).

Semester wise break-up of the courses:

Course Load per Semester:                  18-21 Credit Hours

Number of Courses per Semester:       6-7 Courses

Study Material

The University will provide study material to the students at the start of each semester in the form of hard copy or soft as per AIOU policy.

Change of Rules

Any amendment made by the University in BS (4 years) rules will be applicable to the BS (4 years) Pakistan Studies programme (as per rules).

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates having Intermediate Certificate (at least in 2 nd division) will be eligible to apply for the admission in BS (4 years) Pakistan Studies.

Elective / Major Courses:

As per University rules

Under continuous assessment (assignments), the students have to submit two assignments for each 3 Credit Hour course to the concerned tutor in the stipulated time mentioned in the assignment schedule. Passing marks for the assignments are 50 percent.

At the end of each semester, final examination will be conducted by the University for each Course. Students need 50 percent marks to pass the final examination; however, it is necessary for the students to obtain an aggregate of 50 percent (assignments + final examination) in each course. The ratio of marks of assignments and final examination is 30:70 respectively. The summary of assessment system is given below:

There would be workshop for 3 days each 3 credit hour course and two days for each 2 credit hours course. Workshop is a compulsory component. It is required for passing the course. It does not carry any marks.

The Allama Iqbal Open University was established in May, 1974, with the main objectives of providing educational opportunities to masses and to those who cannot leave their homes and jobs. During all these past years, the University has more than fulfilled this promise.

If you are a student of Arabic then: 

Total assignment marks aiou: 337 out of 400 Exam Marks: 60 out of 100

So you got 67 Conflated Marks, here it is:

University adds 30% marks from assignments and 70% Marks from exam marks.

Assignment Marks Calculation Formula : 

1- Assignment marks multiply by 30 and then divided by Total assignment Marks

337 x 30 = 10110 now divide by 400 = 25.275 Assignment marks 30%

2- Exam marks multiply by 70 and then divided by Total Exam Marks

60 x 70 = 4200 divide by 100 = 42 Exam Marks 70%

3- now add them 25.275 + 42 = 67.275 Conflated Marks

AIOU Assignment Passing Marks

There are overall 2 assignments for each subject, containing 200 Marks. Passing marks are 100 out of 200, which means 50 marks for each assignment. Now there are also three possibilities:

• First, a student is considered to fail if he/she is unable to submit an assignment on time.
• Second, a student is also considered to fail if he/she submitted the assignments on time but is unable to pass a written examination of the subject. 70% marks weightage is for the final exam result. 30% marks are for the assignments.
• Thirdly, workshops and quizzes are also mandatory for passing, because 5 out of 6 classes of workshops are compulsory to attend. 

AIOU Assignment Format

There are a total of 5 questions in each assignment. 5 out of 5 are necessary to solve to get good marks, around 80-95. Structure the AIOU Assignment in a sequence. First of all, create a cover page, and write all the necessary courses and personal details. The cover page is also known as AIOU Assignment First Page. Then write the first question in bold letters with font 16. Research its answer, and write it in a well-organized pattern. In the same way, write all 5 answers to the given question. 

In conclusion, the Assignments are very helpful in scoring excellent marks in the AIOU Final Result . If you are able to obtain 160-180 marks in the assignment, you will be able to gain 24-26 marks out of 30 in the final numbers. Hence, it is proved that the AIOU assignment format is also very important and very effective in acquiring valuable marks for the finals.

Q.1    Is economics positive or negative science?

What are considerations on the basis of those economic systems can be differentiated from one another?

What are the determinants of an economic system?

Also enumerate different economic systems and then write a note on the functions of free enterprises.

What is the relationship between the law of demand and law of equi-marginal utility?

Derive the demand curve of a market from the market demand schedule.

Q. 1   (a)     What do you understand by the term “market” as it used by the economist? Also differentiate among local, national and international markets. Give examples of some commodities and link them to above said types.

         (b)     Make a comparison between differentiated oligopoly and monopolistic competition with the help of diagrams.                                                                                                            (20)

Q. 2   Can the equilibrium out put of a firm be established if the marginal cost intersects the marginal revenue from above? Explain with the help of diagrams in case of perfect competition and monopoly. Also differentiate between duopoly and monopoly. Can this difference be shown diagrammatically? Explain.         (20)

Q. 3   Whether the large scale production be necessarily beneficial or some loss would be expected? If you know any local factory owners, why not discuss with them what the economies of scale might be available in practical terms in their particular area of business and industry. Write the conclusion of this discussion as a note.        (20)

Q.1   What is meant by internationally accepted symbols and identities of the simple economy? Why are the basic identies modified? Write down the identies in the full economy. Also write a discussion on the aim of national income accounting and its general problems.                                                               (20)

Q.2   Differentiate between multipier and accelerator Also explain the following concepts.

         a)      Consumption multiplier      b)    Dynamic multiplier.

         c)      Foreign trade multiple         d)    Acceleration effect on investment.         (20)

Q.3   How does the general acceptance characteristics of money play role in its definition? Differentiate between supply of money and stock of money. Also enumerates the different components of money supply. (20)

Q.4   Differentiate between the saving bank and commercial bank. Discuss the role of commercial bank in credit creation. How do commercial banks affect the daily life business through discounting of bills, purchasing of bond and securities and over drafting. Discuss by giving examples from daily life experience. (20)

Q.5   What is the relationship between purchasing power parity and exchange rate? Also give an overview of purchasing power parity theory in a critical manner.                                                          (20)

(Units 14-18)

Q.1   Our exports seem to be insufficient to meet the ned of foreign reserves in Pakistan. Can deficiency in foreign reserves be overcome by reducing our imports (or payment to the foreigners in foreign currency). Suggest a suitable policy to increase the foreign exchange reserves of Pakistan.                            (20)

Q.2   What is the volume of government debt in the current year? (Consult “Pakistan Economic Survey 2022-23”). How can the volume of government debt be decreased by increasing government taxes? Suggest some suitable policy.         (20)

Q.3   How the budget deficit is financed? Discuss the objectives and effects of deficit financing on the economy. What is the relationship between deficit financing and economic stability? Explain.   (20)

Q.4   Discuss the economic growth and social welfare as a criteria of measuring development of a country. Write a note on the two important sectors for the economic development of Pakistan i.e. industrial and agriculture sectors. Also update the data of table 17.2 from 2008-09 to 2021-22 (see Pakistan Economic Survey 2022-23) stability and development of a country? Enumerate a logical discussion in detail.
