The testable model for research builds on the decision-making logic of agent-based models. The reasoned action framework for the study makes it possible to examine the effects of external factors, which are defined by the characteristics of the company, industry-specific standards, market and customer needs on attitudes and behavioral intentions towards environmental innovations. The reasoned action framework for the study is adapted for innovations to achieve carbon neutrality in chemical companies and uses the attitude towards the use and behavior intention as mediator variables to predict the actual use of renewable raw materials.
