Great! A Few Suggestions, Though

When I first got this iPad, I thought Keynote was just one of those useless apps that just happens to appear on your device once you get it. Then one day I decided to try it out; and believe me, I was wrong. It’s awesome!!! I do like everything on it. But there was one day I did do a presentation on Keynote, and there is one thing that I needed to do for it that you can do on Keynote. That was to remove background on videos. You can remove background perfectly fine on photos. Why not on videos? It’s just like a photo, but it captures movement and sound. so my one and only request of this amazing and functional app is that it can remove background on videos. and this word REALLYE the best app ever if it was easier to use your finger and/or Apple Pencil and draw on the presentation. I later found out that there is a way to do that, but I would appreciate it if I could access the drawing toolbox a bit easier.

When I got my iPad, I saw this app all the time and I thought, “ Why do they put this app on here, I don’t think we would need it.” ZThen, it was getting closer to my dads sisters birthday. She took care of us when my mom was in the hospital and spent nearly all her money on us. I thought she really did something really special for everything she did so I decided I would look through the apps that I’ve never been on and I came up to the Keynote app.I tried it out and I saw that you could use by and I decided that I would you know just kinda like put some nice birthday stuff on there. Put a nice happy birthday song and have some nice note her husband had some things I wanted to say to her you know romance, so we decided that he could pick some poems on there. Then there can my uncle/my aunt which is the birthday girls brother. And he said what are you doing for the a lot of my iPad when I was on keto and I told him that I was really making a surprise for my aunt. Let’s call her candy. My uncle also wanted to do something so he said let’s go get some balloons and cake. Then in the evening of her birthday we got the cake from Maya and the balloons from a party place and the things you like the most was the presentation on keynote. It made her super happy.

Ive been doing family writing/presentations and i was looking for an app. I was at school, and they asked me to download keynote. I saw it on my page on my iPad at home, and since I knew how good it was, I went on and downloaded it. With normal apps like this, there would be ads, interruptions, and other things to get you off task. But with this there are 0 ads, 0 interruptions, and 0 of all the other bad stuff. It was easy to add pictures and texts, the selection of next slides make it easy, The only thing I would add is putting the video in the presentation. Like not a link. So the next slide I could just press play and choose the size of the video so I could maybe have some notes on the side or something like that. Another this is different colored texts and fonted texts. Overall amazing app, I will recommend this to my family members. Thanks for reading my review!

Collaborate on a shared presentation in Keynote for iCloud

Accept an invitation to collaborate

When you click a link to a shared presentation, where the shared presentation opens (for example, in Keynote for iCloud or Keynote for Mac) depends on a number of factors, such as the access and permission set by the owner, the device you’re using when you click the invitation link, and whether you’re using iCloud Drive.

Before you click the invitation link, make sure your device meets the minimum system requirements for collaborating.

Click the link in the email, message, or post you received, then follow any instructions that appear.

If the email address or phone number used to invite you isn’t associated with your Apple ID , you can follow the instructions that appear to add that email or phone number to your Apple ID.

Note: If you don’t want to associate another email address with your Apple ID, you could instead ask the owner of the shared presentation to invite you again using an email address or phone number that’s already associated with your Apple ID.

Collaborate on a shared presentation

Open the shared presentation.

If you don’t see the presentation you’re looking for in the presentation manager , click the link in the email, message, or post you received, and if asked, sign in with your Apple ID .

If you can’t open the presentation, see Accept an invitation to collaborate .

Edit the presentation.

Edits you and others make to the presentation appear in real time. Cursors and selections of text and objects appear in different colors to indicate where others are currently editing. Move your pointer over a cursor to see who’s making the edit.

Note: If a shared presentation uses the formatting conventions of a language other than your primary language, a message near the bottom of the presentation indicates which formatting is being used.

Do any of the following:

If you’re the owner and the access is set to “Only people you invite,” you see the email address or phone number (instead of the name) for people you’ve invited but who haven’t yet opened the presentation.

Follow someone’s edits: Click the dot to the right of the name to see where that person is working. If you don’t see a dot, the person doesn’t have the presentation open.

Invite others: If the owner of the shared presentation has given you permission to invite others to collaborate, click Add People, choose how you’d like to send the invitation, then click Share.

Note: For more detailed information about the changes being made by participants (for example, a list of the changes made since the last time you opened the presentation), open the presentation in Keynote for Mac, Keynote for iPhone, or Keynote for iPad; click or tap the Collaboration button in the toolbar; then click or tap Show All Activity.

Opt out of a shared presentation

If you no longer want to have access to a presentation that was shared with you, you can remove yourself from the participant list.

Do one of the following:

Removing your access removes your name from the participant list and removes the presentation from your iCloud Drive. If you later want to access the presentation again, click the original link to open it.

Locate presentations others have shared with you

Try the following:

Find the shared presentation link that was sent to you (in the original email or text, for example), then click it.

If you’ve opened the presentation before, go to the presentation manager , then click Browse to look for the presentation, or press Command-F (on a Mac) or Control-F (on a Windows computer) to search for it by name.

If you delete a shared presentation from the presentation manager and later want to see it again, just click the link you originally received. As long as the presentation is still being shared by its owner, the presentation reappears in the presentation manager.

How to open a Keynote (.key) file in Powerpoint on your PC (Windows & Office)

Are you creating presentations on your at-home Mac or on-the-go on your iPad using Keynote but then need to convert them to Powerpoint to use at work on a Windows machine? Or vise-verse, you need to work with a Powerpoint presentation on your Mac or iPad using Keynote?  Maybe you just received a Keynote presentation from a colleague or visiting Presenter/Lecturer and need to convert that into Powerpoint. Well, the good news is that to open a Keynote (.key) file in Powerpoint is easier than you think!

Apple’s presentation software Keynote is designed to create beautiful presentations on your Mac & iPad that stand out from its more famous Microsoft counterpart, Powerpoint. Keynote presentation documents are saved as Keynote format files with “.key” file extensions.

Keynote is an Apple program and therefore only available for Apple Mac and iDevices only, there is no Windows version. Since Keynote must be installed on the computer you are using to play Keynote files, windows can not playback any Keynote files. BUT, if you created a presentation in Keynote but now need to migrate it to Powerpoint, there is a relatively painless way to convert your presentation that allows you to view, edit, and play on a Microsoft Windows system.

• For Macs, File > Export To > PowerPoint
• On iPads and other iDevices, Share button > Send a Copy > PowerPoint
• Use iCloud’s Website via a browser like Safari or chrome and choose  Settings > Download a Copy
• Try a Third-Party File Viewer

Open a Keynote (.key) file in Powerpoint: Export to PPT

• With Keynote, you EXPORT your Keynote presentation into a Powerpoint document. Keynote presentations then are saved as Powerpoint (.ppt or pptx) files. To do this, launch the Keynote app, then open the presentation. Select File > Export to > Powerpoint ….and done!
• It’s just as easy on an iPad using the export to PowerPoint. Create or work on your presentations on an iPad and then email them to your work account, converted to PowerPoint all through your iPad!
• If you received a Keynote presentation but don’t have a Mac iPad with Keynote installed, ask the person who sent the Keynote slides (or anybody who has the app) to save the Keynote file as a PowerPoint presentation.  After this, he or she sends the ppt or pptx file, and you open and edit it on your Windows computer.

Export a file from Keynote to Powerpoint Using Your iPad

• From the presentation manager, tap the Share button
• Tap “ Send a Copy “
• Select the document you want to send
• Choose Microsoft PowerPoint (.pptx) format
• Select how you want to send the file (via Mail, DropBox, etc.)
• Complete the sending process
• When you export to PowerPoint, it replaces any unrecognized fonts with its system recognized fonts. Also, Microsoft replaces your animations and transitions with comparable Office animations and transitions.

Open a Keynote (.key) file in Powerpoint: iCloud, Your Other Option

There’s something wonderful about iCloud–it allows your Windows PC to use iWork too! When you use iWork for iCloud, you access all your presentations on any Mac or Windows PC web browser . Keynote for iCloud lets you open, work on, and share your files from any Windows PC or any computer connected to the internet with a supported browser installed.

Just sign in to iCloud.com, open Keynote, and start editing. To work in Keynote for iCloud, you must upgrade your iCloud account to use iCloud Drive or the Files App. Additionally, Keynote for iCloud can only download .pptx files, not .ppt.

• Visit icloud.com

• Go to Settings Menu and upload your Keynote presentation

• Double click the presentation you just uploaded
• Select “ Download a Copy… ” then select Powerpoint
• After this, just open your Powerpoint file the usual way on your Windows PC

Present Using iCloud, no Download or Export Required!

Presenting your Keynote presentation through any up to date browser is easy! Just open a browser window (including Internet Explorer/Chrome/Firefox/Safari on Windows) type in iCloud.com and sign in, once there select Keynote for iCloud . Open your presentation and click the play button–done! iCloud’s Keynote also allows editing online without any need to download.

With iCloud, your Mac’s local fonts don’t carry over to iCloud , so make sure you use system fonts that both your computer and iCloud share. If you do use local fonts, iCloud substitutes those with a  system font. Also on iCloud’s Keynote, some transitions and animation may not play back smoothly, depending on your current internet connection.

Concerned about fonts and transition/animation quality? Then consider saving the file as a QuickTime movie. Quicktime keeps all the same fonts and same effects. Of course, your presentation is only viewable–no changes or edits possible. If you go this route, check that Quicktime is installed on the Windows computer you use.

An iPad is a great way to present your Keynote slides at business meetings, larger presentations, and even in the classroom. If using a projector or large display, you (or the tech) need to switch the projector’s input from a computer (or another device) to the iPad.

Another option is to use file opener program, like File Viewer Lite, that opens a variety of formats. On many of these programs, you open the Keynote presentations to review or present–but no editing or changes allowed.

Or choose a file converter, like Zamzar or CloudConvert, to converts your keynote files either PPT (Powerpoint) or PDF formats.

Going the Other Way? Powerpoint to Keynote?

It’s never been easier to take your Microsoft Powerpoint presentation from your Windows PC (or Powerpoint for Mac) and import it into Keynote. And Keynote now supports more Powerpoint features like commenting, conditional formatting, and even bubble charts. For specific detail on what features are compatible with Keynote, check out Apple’s compatibility site .

Keynote makes opening Powerpoint presentations super easy. Just open Keynote on your Mac, select import an existing file, and chose your PowerPoint presentation . That’s it!

Keynote supports uploads of both Microsoft PowerPoint (.pptx) and Office 97 or later (.ppt)

• Log into your iCloud account
• Click Keynote
• Drag the file you want to upload into presentation manager then choose Upload Presentation…
• Locate and select the file on your Windows PC or Mac
• Your file appears in Keynote for iCloud

• Send the Powerpoint presentation by email or uploads to iCloud Drive, DropBox, Google Drive, or another Cloud storage service
• Go to that storage cloud’s app and select the attachment. When it opens, tap the file and then tap the Share button . Tap Copy to Keynote
• Your iPad imports and automatically converts the file to Keynote
• Keynote lets you know the exact things it doesn’t support or if it made any substitutions for things like fonts

One of the most important links on the materials module is checking availability for every item in the project. At a basic, releasing such news towards the wrong audience through intranets – normally too broad an individual base – devalues the intranet communications through clutter.

More over issues such as the driver program storage device like CD or DVDs may get misplaced or perhaps the storage file inside computer gets corrupted.

The more accurate title should be “How to Export/Save Keynote for PowerPoint.” For somebody without access to any Apple products and doesn’t have or use iCloud (hard to believe, but we’re out there,) there’s no way to actually open the Keynote file on PC without somebody else exporting and saving it for PowerPoint.

Love keynote formatting options; however, converting keynote to Open Source or Microsoft powerpoint still makes a mess out of columns…Powerpoint does not recognize them.

Presentation Remote has been discontinued, and we won’t be updating it for new versions of iOS, OS X or Keynote.

Presentation Manager

You can Download Presentation Manager here if you need to.

Presentation Manager requires Mac OS X 10.5 (“Leopard”), 10.6 (“Snow Leopard”), 10.7 (“Lion”) or 10.8 (“Mountain Lion”).

Note: if you are using OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, you should see below for tips on installing and using Presentation Manager on that OS!

System Requirements

Remember, Presentation Remote requires:

an iPhone or iPod touch running iPhone OS 2.0 or later

a Macintosh computer running OS X 10.5 (“Leopard”) or later (Snow Leopard, Lion or Mountain Lion)

Keynote ’08 or Keynote ’09

Note: Wooji Presentation Remote is not compatible with Keynote for iPad.

General tips

Make sure you have the latest version of Presentation Manager installed

We recommend you don’t close Keynote while Presentation Manager is running. If you do, the connection between them may be broken, and you would then need to restart Presentation Manager. (If this happens, a red “No presentations” warning will appear in Presentation Manager.)

If there is no Wi-Fi available

Your Macintosh computer can act as a temporary Wireless Access Point. Simply turn AirPort on and select Create Network… from the network menu. (For more details, see this guide on setting up a local Airport network .)

If your iPhone or iPod touch does not show in Presentation Manager

Check your device is switched on and running Presentation Remote.

Check your device has Wi-Fi enabled and has successfully connected to the network.

Check your computer is successfully connected to the network.

Check your device is connected to the same network as your computer.

If no presentations appear in Presentation Remote

Check your computer has not “gone to sleep”.

Check your computer has Presentation Manager open.

Check at least one presentation is open in Keynote.

Check your presentation has been saved to disk in Keynote.

Check your device is listed in Presentation Manager, and is paired .

Check Presentation Manager can see the presentations

If Presentation Manager can’t find any presentations, a warning message appears in the bottom-right of the window

If the warning message turns red, it means Presentation Manager has lost contact with Keynote. Restart Presentation Manager.

If you cannot highlight a slide

Check that you have enabled the highlighter .

If you tap “Begin” but Keynote doesn’t start the presentation

Check you’re using the latest version of Keynote (version 4.0.3 at time of writing)

Use a Spotlight search to check if you have more than one version of Keynote installed – particularly if you’ve restored from a Time Machine backup. If you have multiple versions installed, Presentation Manager may not find the correct one.

If the wrong slide titles appear in Presentation Remote

Presentation Remote displays what Keynote thinks are the slides’ titles. If this doesn’t match what you see on screen, make sure what you’re seeing in Keynote are actually titles! There are a couple of ways of doing this:

If you go to the View menu and select Outline, the Outline panel on the left lists each slide, along with its title. You can simply click on a slide’s title to rename it.

If you open up Keynote’s Inspector to the Slide panel and select the Appearance tab, you’ll see a check-box labelled “Title” – if this is unchecked, try checking it – some extra text should appear on the slide itself. That is the text Keynote thinks is the slide’s title.

Presentation Remote says “Double-click to edit” but I double-tap and nothing happens

Ah, that’s because this isn’t actually a message from Presentation Remote. When you create a new presentation, Keynote sets its title to “Double-click to edit” (to encourage you to set one, presumably). Since Presentation Remote displays the title in various places, if you haven’t set one, Presentation Remote will faithfully pass this message on. You can set a title by going to the first slide of your presentation in Keynote. If you don’t see the “Double-click” text, see the instructions above for editing slide titles.

If you see both the slides and presenter’s notes squished together

This happens if you have Keynote’s Allow Exposé, Dashboard and others to use screen option switched off, and are using an outdated version of Presentation Manager. Update to Presentation Remote Manager 1.1 or later.

I can’t see thumbnail previews for my presentation

In order to see thumbnails, you must include a preview in your presentation. The easiest way to ensure all your presentations contain previews is to enable this option in Keynote:

If you have an existing presentation, and want to add a preview to it, use “Save As…” and enable it there.

I can’t install Presentation Manager on OS X 10.8 “Mountain Lion”

If you receive a message saying that Presentation Manager has been corrupted when you try to launch it for the first time, and you’re using OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, the chances are this is a false alarm due to your security settings. If you change the Gatekeeper setting to “Allow applications downloaded from anywhere”, then Presentation Manager should launch fine. You only need to do this the first time – once Presentation Manager has launched successfully the first time, you can change the Gatekeeper setting back to “Mac App Store” or “Mac App Store and identified developers” (whichever you had it set to before) – and we recommend you do put this setting back the way you found it, for increased security.

My presentation is saved to iCloud but doesn’t show up in Presentation Remote

When Keynote saves documents to iCloud, it uses a file format which is different from the one it uses to save documents to your computer’s built-in drive. Presentation Remote is currently not compatible with that file format, so if you want to use a presentation with it, you will need to save it to a local drive instead of iCloud. If your document is already in iCloud, simply duplicate it and save the duplicate to your local drive.

Unsupported browser

This site was designed for modern browsers and tested with Internet Explorer version 10 and later.

It may not look or work correctly on your browser.

How to Use Keynote Presenter Display View in 60 Seconds

Presenter Display view is one of the best tools in Keynote to help you get comfortable with giving a presentation. It's designed for multiple screens, so that you can keep your important data in front of you with the presentation shown to the audience on another screen. 

To get started with presenter view, make sure that you're using a multiple display setup. Usually, this is a laptop connected to a projector or external display.

How to Use Keynote Presenter View

Note:  Watch this short tutorial screencast or follow the quick steps below, that complement this video.

1. Switch to Presenter View

Start by selecting the Play button. Now on my screen right now, you can see the regular presentation. But we actually want to swap this. On my other screen, I'll click the Swap button and now you can see Presenter View.

2. Open the Presenter View Settings

The first thing I recommend is to click this option to open up the settings. I'll turn on the Presenter Notes in View . 

You can keep an eye on the presenter notes while speaking to keep on cue and be reminded of what you want to say. Let's go ahead and close that now. Now you can see the value of the Presenter View .

3. Use Thumbnails to Navigate

Between the speaker notes and a preview of the next slide, you'll stay prepared and comfortable. You can also click the Show Navigator button in the upper left corner to open up thumbnails for all of the slides, and just click on one of them to jump to a later part in the presentation.
