The Biggest Wedding Dress Trends From New York Bridal Fashion Week

Across the first week of April 2024, the world of bridal fashion descended on New York City, as hundreds of salon owners, editors, and influencers traversed Manhattan to see the newest designs by the biggest names in wedding gowns. This season’s New York Bridal Fashion Week highlighted the spring 2025 collections across a packed schedule of presentations, previews, and runway shows that many industry vets agreed made a bigger splash than previous years. Not only were the events busier, but it was clear every brand was making a step to push the envelope further—crafting plenty of approachable styles alongside some true high-fashion statements.

While each designer produced work that aligned with their own creative vision, there were some very clear trends for wedding dresses in 2025 that emerged from this season’s collections. Ahead, get a preview of what’s to come in the world of wedding fashion next year.

Drop Waist Silhouettes

While drop waist gowns were a growing presence in last year’s collections, they’re now decidedly the “it” silhouette of 2025. From longline corsets to peplum-inspired shapes, the styles of the season emphasize an elongated torso. Each designer has put their own touch on the trend, too. Savannah Miller used corsetry to create a dropped waistline for a shell-inspired bustier, while Marchesa employed a clean drop-waist silhouette to balance out a bold, rose-inspired full skirt. This silhouette wasn’t limited to one fabric, either. A highlight was Dana Harel’s use of ruched silk chiffon to create a corseted drop waist gown with a soft, flowing skirt. Lihi Hod even created two mirroring versions of a grand ballgown with a dramatic basque waist in both lace and Mikado silk.

While florals are always a mainstay in the spring bridal collections, daisy motifs made a whimsical debut in a number of gowns by different designers, bringing a touch of ’60s flower power to the elegant silhouettes of the wedding world. Yellow by Sahar melded joy with drama in a massive, daisy-embroidered ball gown that the designer paired with a matching daisy-adorned veil and Nardos Design embraced texture in a chic A-line style. Honor made daisies the mainstay of its newest collection with appliqués, embroidery, and eyelet details throughout the entire spring line. One look was even shown with daisy-embellished tights for an extra coquette touch.

Party Looks

It’s become increasingly common for brides to wear multiple looks on their wedding day—and designers are taking note. Almost every collection featured mini dresses or chic sets that would bring an extra sparkle to the reception or after-party. Enaura launched an entire line of cocktail attire to coincide with its new bridal gowns, while Markarian’s line was filled with both sweet and sparkly styles to take newlyweds into the next part of their celebration. Francesca Miranda debuted a two-piece lace set we can’t wait to see on a future newlywed, while Bronx and Banco’s full collection brought sexy looks perfect for after-hours. A general consensus among the bridal fashion world? Sequins, crystals, lace, and feathers are sure to be found on the dance floors of 2025.

Convertible Gowns

Designers have also made things easy for those who want a second look, but don’t want to invest in another gown. Removable sleeves, overskirts, toppers, adjustable drapery, and even mini or pant options to swap with a full ball gown skirt let to-be-weds have flexibility in their attire. Designers like Esé Azénabor , Galia Lahav , and Rime Arodaky emphasized these dynamic looks in their collections to lend more drama to certain parts of the day, while the convertible styles at Nordeen helped showcase the brand’s commitment to sustainability by removing the need for multiple garments.

The bow trend may be fading from the current fashion trend cycle, but it’s still going full force in the world of bridal. Bows big and small found their way into collections as both traditional and avant-garde accents to gowns, accessories, and after-party looks. Some unique designs include the massive bow veil from Lihi Hod’s 1950s-inspired collection and the bow-shaped ties along an asymmetrical cutout in a loose Lein jumpsuit. While a bow on the back of a gown isn’t revolutionary, Amsale designer Michael Cho played with expectations and designed an accent that could transform into a shawl-like sleeve, making the classic look feel editorial.

Crystal Embellishments

While last year, pearls reigned supreme, this season’s gowns shined as they made their way down the runways with crystal adornments. Shimmer and shine could be found in many of the chic party looks from designers like Ines Di Santo , while crystal embellishments were beautifully placed to bring elegant glitz to gowns by Elie Saab and Esé Azénabor .

Tulle was found bringing a feminine flounce to many gowns gracing the presentations of NYBFW. Designers Monique Lhuillier and Australian brand Kyha made use of full tulle skirts to bring beautiful shape to trendy drop-waisted designs. Andrew Kwon took a different approach in his line, using the fabric to bring dynamic draping to bustiers with soft draping of tulle down to the floor.

Something Blue

While brides traditionally have worn something blue as a small accent to bring luck to their wedding day, designers are now embracing the hue in a bolder way. Ines Di Santo turned out Cinderella-esque gowns, while Tanner Fletcher added powder blue marabou, bows, and velvet to pieces in the brand’s first-ever wedding line . Other standouts include a statement-making blue floral ball gown by Varca and an all-over pastel blue dress with a grand, rosette-adorned overskirt by Nadia Manjarrez .

Vintage Appeal

While this year’s collections might be designed for 2025, plenty of the pieces looked as if they were found in a time capsule. For anyone seeking something old in their wedding looks, you no longer have to go vintage hunting to achieve the look you desire. The influence of the ’50s and ’60s was visible in Mark Ingram and Markarian’s newest collections, complete with textural bridal coats and sweet bow-filled bridal looks. A major moment of the week was the dramatic presentation for Cinq , where gorgeous gowns with an 18th-century influence were shown in a candlelit performance to haunting music in the storied Chelsea Hotel. Clearly, even of-the-moment brides want to give a nod to the past.

A delicate lace long-sleeve jumpsuit featuring hot pants by Francesca Miranda , with an optional floor-length tulle skirt. Why be boring?

How New York Bridal Fashion Week Influences 2025 Bridal Styles

Editors can be such a jaded lot. After all, there's only so much champagne one can endure while on the clock during a jam-packed three days of shows and with stories to be filed. But, sometimes, surprise and delight can come from the most unexpected places during New York Bridal Fashion Week . The team kicked off the schedule at Enaura, where Sohil Mistry's petite poodle caused nearly as much excitement as the designer's debut line of little white dresses, many of which feature hundreds of hours of handiwork from highly skilled beaders and embroiderers in India.

Just when you think you've seen it all (or think you have a good idea of what a designer might show), you're likely to be thrown for a loop—and thank goodness for that. Fashion should be anything but predictable. Occasionally, you'll have caught a glimpse of things to come during the previous season, say, when a rather conservative designer adds a bold black accent or two, signaling a showstopping black dress to come along with an entirely new attitude about how a bride should dress. Oh, you thought brides have always worn white? Think again .

Do the Best Wedding Dresses Show at Bridal Fashion Week?

Well, what's best as far as bridal dresses are concerned is relative. Perhaps you caught a show on Instagram that was filled with looks to your liking. Beyond personal taste, I could wax poetic on which construction and those designers whose quality of work is unparalleled (and those who could use some quality control). Tiers will always emerge but in terms of sheer influence, the entire industry is watching the shows. From bridal stylists to buyers and boutique owners, the biannual gathering remains (even in this age of data) the best temperature gauge for the following year's trends—and often sooner, with the more fast-fashion type bridal brands able to jump on the latest silhouettes.

Wait - Why Are 2025 Wedding Dresses Shown in 2024?

It might seem a bit hasty to start talking about next year's wedding dress trends a year ahead of schedule, but if you're a bride gearing up for a 2025 wedding, these collections actually come at just the right time. Whether you're actively searching for your dream dress, or just fantasizing about your future wedding look, getting to know the looks from the runway can help you stay ahead of the game when it comes to trends. Also, shopping for a wedding dress can be a long and extensive process—especially if you plan to go the made-to-order route. According to The Knot's Real Wedding Study , the ideal time to purchase your gown is anywhere from eight to ten months before the date of the event to budget enough time for production and alterations. Having foresight when it comes to emerging bridal trends can help ensure you'll still love your dress by the time it's ready to be worn.

Trending Wedding Dresses You Can Expect for 2025

Thrillingly for 2025 brides and The Knot editors alike, I'm happy to report that there was plenty of newness at the New York Shows. Assistant Fashion Commerce Editor Sofia Deeb was particularly taken with all the drop-waist dresses, including a Carrie Bradshaw-inspired number by Nadja Manjarrez. I was pleasantly surprised by the level of theatricality from newcomer Idan Cohen, whose cutaway mirrored number had all the on-stage glamour of one of Bob Mackie's many creations for Cher. Vegas wedding? No-brainer. Without further ado, let's dive into the 10 trends that got The Knot team most excited about 2025 bridal fashions. We hope there's something for everyone.

Top Wedding Dress Trends for 2025:

Mirrored Dresses

Black accents, colorful florals, historically-inspired dresses, drop waists, little white dresses, convertible dresses, maximalist dresses, tea-length dresses.

"How exactly does one sit in that thing?" I couldn't help but ask my neighbor at one show. That's not to say I didn't love the disco ball effect the dress gave (imagine it in candlelight). For brides looking to, well, shine a little brighter on their big day, mirrored numbers abound from a tiered ball skirt in silver lame at Honor to metallic paillettes on a hand-crocheted dress at Alejandra Alonso Rojas and the aforementioned mirrors at Idan Cohen . Already a beloved ready-to-wear designer, this is Alonso Rojas's first foray into bridal—and you can shop it now .

We're still reeling from the showstopping black evening dress that Andrew Kwon presented last season and frankly, we were expecting to see more similarly bold choices this season. Instead, designers including Jaclyn Whyte and Mark Ingram Atelier relied on a few choice black bows, trims, and even gloves and cardigans for a more subtle and classic take. So too did London-based Richard Quinn , who made his first trip across the pond during Bridal Fashion Week with a largely chiaroscuro collection.

Florals remain a perennial favorite as far as bridal trends go. Even tonal, white embellishments a statement adding texture and depth to otherwise unremarkable silhouettes. But why hold back when you've got (hopefully) one shot? Nardos certainly didn't, embroidering a white strapless number (with a very on-trend drop waist) with fuchsia foxgloves, Queen Anne's Lace and other greenery sprouting from the hemline. Adding to the artistry of it all, House of Savin instead chose to paint their florals directly onto the dresses, as did Justin Alexander , albeit with edgy spray paint.

There's a certain adherence to tradition when it comes to bridal fashion designers though the space is by no means immune to a throwback. While last season saw many a vintage-inspired number with '70s chic halter-neck dresses and flared jumpsuits, several designers looked to historical precedent for bridal looks worthy of a period drama. The Pre-Raphaelite vibes were strong at Cinq (aided along by candlelight) and Galia Lahav while Soucy 's golden hues and rich fabrics also cast a painterly spell.

When one thinks of drop-waist dresses, one image inevitably comes to mind: the flapper. However, the silhouette needn't be so pronounced or decade-specific. Lela Rose lowered the waist of her handpainted Dorset gown by just a few inches below the waist while Jaclyn Whyte took a more dramatic approach with '80s prom dress vibes, which we are so here for.

Little white dresses have been around for a minute as a popular choice for brides looking to make a dramatic post-ceremony costume change. This season, however, more designers are catering to brides looking for an abbreviated main look. Enaura 's Sohil Mistry introduced a collection of LWDs which, despite their smaller surface area, feature the same painstakingly detailed hand beadwork and hand embroidery for which the brand is known. At Honor , the brand's vintage-inspired fare was simply made for minidresses.

From bustles to boleros, convertible wedding dresses are nothing novel but this season brought several standouts that ventured beyond the usual tricks. Andrew Kwon , who officially closed Bridal Fashion Week, added floor-length tulle underskirts to a series of little white dresses for an easy consume change while Nadia Manjarrez offered separates in the form of corseted bodices that can be paired with skirts of varying lengths. And no, I'm still not over the hot pants at Francesca Miranda .

The message from several designers this season: go big or go home. To be sure, there's always an element of the over-the-top in the bridal sphere but we're talking an everything but the kitchen sink approach. At Ese Azenabor , that meant corset + plunging neckline + metallic embroidery + cloudlike, all-encompassing skirt that called to mind Bjork's infamous swan dress. A more subtle yet equally stunning look was a fully sequined empire waist number from Ines di Santo that was topped with vibrant floral embroidery and a transparent black overlay for a glam boudoir effect.

The mere term "tea length" conjures up images of Audrey Hepburn's Givenchy wedding dress in Funny Face. Unfortunately for vintage-loving brides, a pristine white dress from the 1950s is like a needle in a haystack. Fortunately, designers of all stripes are now embracing this flattering length, from Richard Quinn , who conjured mid-century couture silhouettes to Sareh Nouri 's ballet-inspired number (which features a massive bow in the back). Even decidedly edgier Bronx and Banco tempered a corseted dress with lace, making for an almost demure look despite the visible boning. It's the perfect middle ground if you're not quite ready for a little white dress

Among the most divisive trends in all of fashion, peplum ranks pretty high. Though given the sheer number of dresses featuring the addition this season, we recommend giving it a try. Peplums are a great way to accentuate the waist and add flattering volume without the need for a full-skirted dress. When rendered in lace, as at Francesca Miranda , the form takes on a much lighter quality. Nardos offered a bit of a peplum 2.0 with the sculpted hips of the Cordelia dress while Andrew Kwon also restricted his peplums to the hip area by splitting them down the middle to create two panels.

We’ve known each other since we were fourteen, together with many of our friends whom we’ve also known for a decade.

I didn’t want to walk down the aisle twice so the plausibility of my request quickly came into discussion. The open pontoon stage was constructed in order to facilitate the bridal entrance on water, although there were concerns about safety as the last thing we wanted was probably a drowned bride before she could get on stage, picture that! I have to say on that day it wasn’t easy to get on the pontoon stage from the boat, in my long gown and high heels. Luckily my bridesmaids still noticed even though they stood the furthest from me on the stage, and helped me out without prior rehearsal. My girls could just tell whenever I needed a hand or maybe they were just so used to my clumsiness. Who knows 😂

We all love our photographer Julia! She’s so talented and her style is so unique. Our beloved host Alex is exceptional who made everyone laugh and cry. It was truly a blessing to have so many kind and beautiful souls on our big day. Thank you all!

From Sonya Khegay … It was the last day of April and still very cold in the morning. The weather forecast wasn’t pleasing and no one expected that the sun would come out, but miracles happen and light rain gave way to the warm rays.

I love how all the details went together, you could feel the harmony in everything throughout the entire wedding day from the morning until the fireworks.

A gentle look of the bride, elegant but so airy and unique decor, the fresh and light atmosphere of early spring and, of course, true happiness in the eyes. My heart becomes so warm from these memories, it is always a pleasure to see the birth of a new family of two loving hearts.

You really can’t go wrong with simple: a beautiful Bride , perfectly pretty petals , loved ones all around. But add in an amazing firework show  to cap off the night and simple just became downright extraordinary. Captured by Lena Elisseva , with assistance by  Katya Butenko , this rustic Russian celebration is simply fantastic. From Lena Eliseeva Photo …  This cozy and warm summer wedding of gorgeous Natalia and Anton was in the middle of June. The young couple decided to organize their wedding themselves, and the day was very personal and touching. I am absolutely in love with rustic outdoor weddings, and this one is my favourite because of the free and easy atmosphere.

All the decor excluding the bride’s bouquet was made by a team of ten friends of the bride and groom. And it was charming – a light and beautiful arch, eco-style polygraphy and succulents, candy-bar with caramel apples and berries – sweet joys of summer.

At the end of ceremony the guests tossed up white handkerchiefs embroidered by Natalia’s own hands.

The most touching moment was the happy eyes of the groom’s grandmother, the most estimable person on the wedding. And the fireworks were a bright end to that beautiful day.

From Lena Kozhina … When we met with the couple for the first time, we immediately paid attention to Dima’s behavior towards Julia. There was a feeling of tenderness and awe, and we immediately wanted to recreate this atmosphere of love, care and warmth on their Big Day.

Later, when we had chosen a green meadow and an uncovered pavilion overlooking a lake as the project site, it only highlighted a light summer mood with colorful florals and a great number of natural woods. The name of the site is Fox Lodge and peach-orange color, as one of the Bride’s favorites, set the tone for the whole design – from the invitations, in which we used images of fox cubs to elements of serving guest tables and other decorative elements with the corresponding bright accents.

A Bride Just Wore the World’s First 3D-Printed Wedding Dress, Which Took 600 Hours to Design and 41 Hours to Print

Celebrity-approved fashion designer Iris van Herpen was the creative genius behind the gown.

When Mariana Pavani, a Brazilian lawyer, got married over the weekend in May 2024, she tapped Dutch fashion designer Iris van Herpen to create an eye-catching design for her big day. It wasn’t just any regular bridal piece, however; it was the world’s very-first 3D-printed wedding dress. “Yeah, still can’t believe it…Wearing a made to measure @irisvanherpen - her first 3d printed wedding dress!” Pavani captioned an Instagram video of herself modeling the intricate gown.

The wedding dress in question? A high-neck piece with a bodice wrapped in vine-like accents, a movable, textured skirt, and a flowing train. After doing a 3D full body scan of the bride, van Herpen designed the one-of-a-kind ensemble over the course of 600 hours on a software called ZBrush. Once she completed this step, printing the getup, which was 216.7 MB, took a whopping 41 hours. In order to create a flawless look for Pavani, the designer had the bride travel to Paris twice and Amsterdam three times over two years for fittings. “Better than perfect results!!!” Pavani concluded in her Instagram caption.

The wedding dress wasn’t just breathtaking to look at; it was cozy to wear, too. “With the materials and the flexibilities that you have today [with 3D printing], it’s super comfortable,” Van Herpen told  WWD . “[Pavani] can sit in it; she can basically do anything in it.” Plus, the designer notes that the piece is completely seamless.

Not only was Pavani ecstatic about the final product, but van Herpen had an enjoyable time designing the gown. “This was really a dream project for me because 3D-printed fashions are in museums and on runways, but having it worn by someone on the most special day of her life, I think it’s really something else,” van Herpen explained to  Women’s Wear Daily .

Van Herpen is a pioneer in the fashion industry, known for creating innovative pieces that blend technology with haute couture craftsmanship. She’s a favorite with celebrities like Lady Gaga and Beyoncé who have worn the label to concert tours and prestigious Hollywood events. And the designer has always been before her time: In 2010, she created a 3D-printed top, which she debuted at Amsterdam Fashion Week.

Savvino-storozhevsky monastery and museum.

Zvenigorod's most famous sight is the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, which was founded in 1398 by the monk Savva from the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra, at the invitation and with the support of Prince Yury Dmitrievich of Zvenigorod. Savva was later canonised as St Sabbas (Savva) of Storozhev. The monastery late flourished under the reign of Tsar Alexis, who chose the monastery as his family church and often went on pilgrimage there and made lots of donations to it. Most of the monastery’s buildings date from this time. The monastery is heavily fortified with thick walls and six towers, the most impressive of which is the Krasny Tower which also serves as the eastern entrance. The monastery was closed in 1918 and only reopened in 1995. In 1998 Patriarch Alexius II took part in a service to return the relics of St Sabbas to the monastery. Today the monastery has the status of a stauropegic monastery, which is second in status to a lavra. In addition to being a working monastery, it also holds the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum.

Belfry and Neighbouring Churches

Located near the main entrance is the monastery's belfry which is perhaps the calling card of the monastery due to its uniqueness. It was built in the 1650s and the St Sergius of Radonezh’s Church was opened on the middle tier in the mid-17th century, although it was originally dedicated to the Trinity. The belfry's 35-tonne Great Bladgovestny Bell fell in 1941 and was only restored and returned in 2003. Attached to the belfry is a large refectory and the Transfiguration Church, both of which were built on the orders of Tsar Alexis in the 1650s.  

To the left of the belfry is another, smaller, refectory which is attached to the Trinity Gate-Church, which was also constructed in the 1650s on the orders of Tsar Alexis who made it his own family church. The church is elaborately decorated with colourful trims and underneath the archway is a beautiful 19th century fresco.

Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is the oldest building in the monastery and among the oldest buildings in the Moscow Region. It was built between 1404 and 1405 during the lifetime of St Sabbas and using the funds of Prince Yury of Zvenigorod. The white-stone cathedral is a standard four-pillar design with a single golden dome. After the death of St Sabbas he was interred in the cathedral and a new altar dedicated to him was added.

Under the reign of Tsar Alexis the cathedral was decorated with frescoes by Stepan Ryazanets, some of which remain today. Tsar Alexis also presented the cathedral with a five-tier iconostasis, the top row of icons have been preserved.

Tsaritsa's Chambers

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is located between the Tsaritsa's Chambers of the left and the Palace of Tsar Alexis on the right. The Tsaritsa's Chambers were built in the mid-17th century for the wife of Tsar Alexey - Tsaritsa Maria Ilinichna Miloskavskaya. The design of the building is influenced by the ancient Russian architectural style. Is prettier than the Tsar's chambers opposite, being red in colour with elaborately decorated window frames and entrance.

At present the Tsaritsa's Chambers houses the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. Among its displays is an accurate recreation of the interior of a noble lady's chambers including furniture, decorations and a decorated tiled oven, and an exhibition on the history of Zvenigorod and the monastery.

Palace of Tsar Alexis

The Palace of Tsar Alexis was built in the 1650s and is now one of the best surviving examples of non-religious architecture of that era. It was built especially for Tsar Alexis who often visited the monastery on religious pilgrimages. Its most striking feature is its pretty row of nine chimney spouts which resemble towers.
