This paper aims to examine the impact of the 100% FDI invested in Indian railways. Through the employment of primary and secondary qualitative data, we’ll explore the ways in which Europe, America and Southeast Asia may help India improve its railways through technology transfer and monetary assistance during both the globalisation era. We also aim to understand the role of Special Purpose Vehicles and Institutions at both the national and international level—again using both primary and secondary data to understand trends of development through financial grants and technology transfers. The study will trace the developments in railways in the post-globalisation era and explore the role of Special Purpose Vehicles and Memorandums in encouraging a focused development of railways in the Indian context.
