Madurai Kamaraj University is a public university in Madurai city in southern Tamil Nadu, India. It was established in 1966 and has about 130,000 students in 18 schools comprising 72 departments and 109 affiliated colleges.

The Madurai Kamaraj University campus is located at Palkalai Nagar in the Madurai to Theni High road. The university campus is located is 13 km away from the Periyar Bus stand and Railway station, 18 km away from the Integrated bus stand Mattuthavani. Upto five years from the date of registration. However, the research period can be extended after getting prior approval from the University.

Based on the academic record and the performance of the candidates in the test and the interview, the Departmental Selection Committee will recommend the names of candidates found suitable for admission to the PhD programme.

After the approval by the Director, the candidates will be admitted to PhD programme subject to final approval by the Alagappa University

TSM Doctoral Programme

Candidates with Post Graduate Degree (First Class) in Management or related subjects are eligible for enrollment in the Ph.D. program (Refer Alagappa University Guidelines) .  The Institute offers Full-time as well as Part-time Ph.D. Programmes. The candidates can undertake a PhD in Accounts & Finance, Economics, Human Resources, Marketing & Strategy, or Operations & Supply Chain Management. Allotment of research scholars to Supervisors will be made by the Dean of the Doctoral Programme taking into consideration the research interests of the research scholars and supervisors. Every scholar registered for the PhD programme shall work under the continuous supervision of a supervisor.

Every student provisionally registered for the PhD programme shall undergo course work in the first year as suggested by Alagappa University.

In 1971, Madurai Kamaraj University founded the Directorate of Distance Education (MKU DDE) as the Institute of Correspondence Course and Continuing Education. Over 100 undergraduate, postgraduate, postgraduate diploma, diploma, and certificate courses are offered by the DDE in arts, science, business management, and education.  The MKU DDE is accredited with an "A" by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council and recognized by the UGC and Distance Education Bureau. Additionally, it is a "University for Potential Excellence".  Students nationwide who cannot register in on-campus programs can receive affordable and accessible higher education from the MKU DDE. The Madurai Kamaraj University DDE scholarships include a 100% tuition exemption for physically challenged students and a 50% fee concession for defense employees. It also offers well-equipped infrastructure, including labs, to facilitate remote study.

Madurai Kamaraj University - [MKU]  PhD Admission 2024 is open. Entrance Test for admission to PhD programs is scheduled on Sept 22, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the university. Hall tickets for the entrance test will be available on the official website of the university (mkuniversity.ac.in) from Sept 2 nd  week.

Madurai Kamaraj University, also known as MKU, was founded in 1966 and is a State University. In 2007, it was recognised as a university with potential for excellence in "teaching, research, and outreach." The Madurai Kamaraj University has more than 15 schools and centers that offer a variety of UG, PG, and diploma programmes. In the previous 50 years, the university, which has 20 Schools and 77 Departments, has generated about one crore graduates. It provides 44 Post Graduate, 40 M.Phil., 57 Ph.D. programmes, and 17 diploma, P.G. diploma, and certificate courses. There are currently 4650 undergraduate, graduate, and research scholars registered. There is an inherent provision for lateral and vertical mobility in the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) that is used in all of the university's courses.

The university has received "A++" accreditation from NAAC for the fourth cycle (2021). On September 14, 2017, the HRD Ministry gave the University the second-place ranking in the category of government institutions in the "SWACHHTA" Ranking of Higher Educational Institutions in the Nation.

• I like the way of teaching methods and their explanations were good aswell as in english and tamil and can easily understandable
• The teachers and the students were very responsible with their management and their classes
• One or two staffs were not treating the students as a students

I took a TANCET exam and i passed in that i applied in a Madurai kamarajar university and Alagappa University College, I got selected and their fees structures wer very minimal amounts but i didnt choose that college because i have to confirm stay in their college hostels i dont want to stay in the hostels so that why I didnt choose that colleges.

• We are very luck to joint in this college because of jovial staffs
• They were very easy to mingle with us and feels friendly to ask any doubts and whatever it is...
• In my college campus they're having some poor sanitation facilities like in toilets

• Yes I have a lot of improvement when can I talk in English..i can improve a lot of words. To a new and all the staff teaching level is good.i am first go to the college I am not study only playing.but later teacher advice and strictly I am study well

• THe placement cell has been ineffective after securing a single job for the sludents
• Some way college curriculam is mostly oriented with sales and marketing, so most of the student couldn't get placements any other than the sales

It's near to home and my parents were in fear to get my study outside from the hometown so i had to choose this one I hadn't applied for anything else than this one Admission process first we have to apply online then they will call for a GDPI and by the score of GDPI and TANCET/MAT/CAT you have to choose whether MBA/PGDM if you got better score

Other than Fatima College, I have applied to two colleges. One is Thiagarajar college of arts and science, in this college I have applied for B.Sc. Mathematics and B.Sc Chemistry. For B.sc mathematics i have a seat in Self finance but not interested in studying self finance. For Chemistry major I have a seat in that college but I'm not interested in Studying Chemistry. Other College was Lady Doak College, in that college I have applied for B.sc. Mathematics major and I'm also seated on that college but I also have seated on Fatima College as well. So I prefer Fatima College to Lady Doak.

There is more intership offered by the campus such as nda, mobile working,lab working, outside the college courses,bsnl visit,rock fort visit.
